Reboot to recovery, go to advanced wipe, then wipe dalvik, data, cache and factory reset. Then flash the rom and that's it.

wow slimrom is back for samsung phone...
Am i Dreaming? Love ur roms
Sent from my SM-G935F using XDA Labs

Slim roms where always my favorite, gonna try and installed it today, might not be able to use it as a daily but im gonna try it anyways
Edit: its been probably 4 hours only, but the rom is great, for me and what i use is perfect, the things that dont work correctly are, not being able to record video (as mention before), vibration doesnt work in anything or its waaaaayyyy to soft, cant tell lol, since video cant be reproduce with internal video player, stuff like facebook instagram videos dont work.
Edit as of 07/01 : new build installed, internal video is working now, so videos in facebook instagram etc work, camera works a little better, vibration its working fine, for me its a fully daily working rom, only 2 things dont work, video recording and wifi hotspot (according to the thread notes, i dont use it so i dont know.)

Thnks for this gr8 rom..

Love slim. Thank you so much!

New build is available now.

Great to see that slim is working on this one. How hard is for the fingerprint to work? I am asking because I just got brand new s7 edge and I am missing some info about exynos and aosp compatibility.

small donation. 1E652157EL077894L. thanks for making this possible

love slimroms but wailt till all worsk fine.

with slimrom the menü-button from titanium is disappeared. any body an idea?

Lookin forward to use it as a daily driver

Ive just update it my initial post, rom is almost perfect.

I love Slim too , since my I9000 , so flashed this rom , but :
1. Wifi works but partially - after connect it works a while, disconnects and do not reconnect (must connect manually) - I think is most important
2. SuperSu - must install manually via TWRP (to recover apps from Titanium - but as bavmouse said - Titanium not shows important button)
less important (it is early version of that rom , I know)
3. In settings -> display - double click home button to launch camera not works
4. Home button do not awake display.
5. There is no setting to change volume of notifications (connected with ringing volume ?)
Gapps dependent :
6. Dynamic Gapps works but ... Chronus do not see calendars and there is no calendar app.
7. No sms app
Despite this I will stay with Slim.
and There is no LED notification about missed call :crying:

Tnks for the feedback guys

This is the way android works, AFAIK only Samsung separates notification sound from ringing sound

Information
These are the monthly releases of CM with some modifications and touch ups that will be listed below, They are meant for users who want a stable ROM without the need to flash nightly releases and risking a Nandroid, anyone who has enjoyed the stability of my Google Edition ROM should give this a go
all builds have their core features tested (Camera, bluetooth, bluetooth audio, tethering, USB audio, Data, Voice calls etc), I also adb debug each release and look for any redflags, I then set up the phone and daily drive it with a few of my testers and once I deem the release stable it will be posted here.
Note: The CM camera works but it's not the best, SnapCam HDR (Paid app) from the market is much more stable and has a ton more features (these developers only focus on the 4.4 open source camera and making it better), I highly suggest doing what I do and removing the stock Camera and Gallery and using this awesome app which also includes a gallery with more features, myself and ktoonsez swear by it. The stock files are found in system/app.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Features
-CM Stable branch based
-Updated and debloated gapps
- No rom branding - I don't flash my name around in the settings menu anywhere, keeping it stock AOSP.
-Stock CM kernel
-Nova launcher
-Improved CM Auto brightness values (Stock is way to Dim)
-Android L boot animation
-adb shell fixes
-Ext SD permissions added in platform
-Zip aligned
-No extra bloat
-Settings menu revamped and more organized
-Teleservice event notification options removed as they are not working
-Tested by an established developer and solid testers before release goes live to the public
-Enjoy!!

-edited another string in settings>security
-not much else, last build as I think this is way more stable then any other CM build out there.
[B]*dirty flash if coming from previous release is fine, just wipe caches first, no need to flash gapps unless full wiping*[/B]
[B]08/05/2014 stable 2[/B]

[B]06/01/2014[/B]
I was VERY happy with how 5/31/2014 ran on my phone but noticed a few commits merged last night that were authored by bossman Cyanogen himself, so here is your changelog. I feel like the foundations of this ROM are set now which I knew would take a few builds
so if all goes well with this, I will start bi-weekly releases because I'm extremely sick of full wiping/testing/compiling, I just wanna use my phone as a phone!!
stagefright: yield callbackDispatcher to writer only for video
libstagefright: Fix to handle EAGAIN error on first read to source
audio: mute duration at the beginning of recording
Bluetooth: Fix for device gets stuck in pairing
Bluetooth: turn on lcd during Connection
camera: Disable extra HDR frame on QCOM_HARDWARE - HDR fix for third party apps
appops: Fix WIFI_SCAN AppOp permission index
nxp: Include support declaration for Mifare tags
[B]Everything but the app ops commit was merged into the stable branch of CM 11, these were necessary changed to warrant an update[/B]
Enjoy!
[B]05/31/2014[/B]
Settings: Allow access for external apps to launch ThemeSettings Fragment directly
Mms: Clear notifications and mark messages read in certain situations
Calculator updated with many new features
selinux: enable support for bionic, add applets in config
Revert "Remove smiley support"
Revert "idmap: Don't log spam "CREATING STRING CACHE"
idmap: reduce CREATING STRING CACHE verbosity
Merged latest cLock widget
Added Stock MMS back in the build as it's theme friendly
Made number picker dialog in MMS and Contacts a neutral gray so no theme will make the txt invisible
Option to show missed notification count in Interface>Statusbar now works for Email/Gmail
Included Apollo in the build to play nice with lockscreen targets, feel free to remove yourself
Removed open music app on headset connect, does not work on most music apps including poweramp
Updated kernel, Init binary in the ramdisk is now the latest from CM
[B]05/30/2014[/B]
Settings: Disable Battery status preference on ModLock.
Fix wallpapers not applying in full screen
Alarm: Show a warning toast when alarm volume is set to silent
CM11 Themes: Don't kill setup wizards
Correct string for left-handed mode (Camera + settings)
Menu button fixed for webkit apps (TiBU, GO SMS etc)
Added equalizer quick panel toggle
Burst mode removed from Camera until it's fixed upstream
default alarm tone set
Kernel updated to the latest
more that I'm probably forgetting but this is the important stuff
[B]05/27/2014[/B]
SystemUI: Make wifi combo margin themable
wm: Underp menu key release processing (doesn't effect Titanium so don't ask, thats a TB bug)
Fix circle battery opaqueness for the low battery color
Reduce memory leaks by removing all views.
CMAccount: fix setup wizard crash
Themes: Add read/write permissions - 2 commits
Fix broken tags
Remove Status bar notification count checkbox preference <--- main reason for this update, I don't like broken toggles in my settings menus, no idea why CM just leaves them in there, it's rather annoying when there is ZERO java controlling them
every other commit is super minor but we are fully synced up to date with CM
[B]05/26/2014[/B]
A2DP: Stop spamming log with buffer size
Make KeyguardMultiUserAvater fully themable
CMAccount: Remove "or" between account buttons

Remove event notification checkbox preference
Note: You can dirty flash my updates but you can't report bugs in my thread until you repeat them on a full wipe. Thanks :)

These builds are unified and I've been releasing to all other carriers for several months now, might as well make it available to you guys too
thanks for a great rom:fingers-crossed:
Very nice!
Thanks for sharing!!
Installed and running superbly thus far! Cannot complain about anything...and it feels great to come back to a stock feel
UPDATE!
Man I just have to say battery life is amazing so far! I'm sitting at 49% with just close to 10 hours being either used or standby. My screen on time is just shy over 2 hours so far. I'm very impressed!
Is the compass working?
Thank you,
Man this ROM is my new daily. Simple interface, fast, and stable with no bloat in sight. Everything I look for in a ROM.
Huge thank you to Dan & Ktoon for this.
This rom is really nice. I did notice a couple of things that i figured i would point out.
1. Calendar and GMail weren't included in gapps. No big deal, downloaded from the app store.
2. WiFi is a little temperamental. I noticed when i had it plugged in, it disconnected and wouldn't reconnect. Then, when i tried to turn it off, it wouldn't. Then i when it finally connected, it wouldn't turn off. i know this is a cm issue as well. Reboot fixes the issue.
3. Bluetooth doesn't disconnect from pairing.
Other than that, everything else seems to work great. Thanks

terribly sorry for this... its stable though, M9 caused me no problems whatsoever. m10 just didn't cut it
Big improvement over the first version. Bluetooth was the same on cm11 which i know you pulled from. So far no issues to report. thanks
Does MMS send/receive over 3G on this rom? Cyanogenmod has been having trouble with this on their own rom for quite a while.
Yes it does
Anyone know why I lose so much space on cm roms?

This is a cm thing. I have seen it mentioned in other forums.
Initial review of this rom:
The new version is much better than the first version. No issues with Data, Bluetooth, Wifi or GPS. Actually, everything is very smooth and responsive.
Twice last night i had an issue while reading web pages with chrome. The app would close by itself, the phone became unresponsive, once the recent app list came up, the other time was half notification bar. Nothing would work on the phone, so i pulled the battery. Haven't been able to do it again, and if it does happen and i am near a computer i will upload a log.
I also switched to ART this morning, everything is smooth and working well.
Thanks for the awesome rom.
Anyone know of a tool or manual process on adding mods/apps to a rom. I've been flashing roms a lot lately and I hate having to do it manually every time.
Mods/Apps I would like to add my self:
Viper4Android
Lenevo Camera w/ Libs
eXtremeBeats Studio
Edit: Just flashed the ROM and set everything up. I finally feel like I'm on a stable ROM. Thank you!!
Second day, not a single issue. 15 on battery, almost 4 hours screen on time! Awesome!
Just tried out this rom. Everything is looking to be working quite well! Thanks for fixing so many things!
All the radio fixes (especially the MMS over 3G) should be submitted directly to CM's gerrit: http://review.cyanogenmod.org/
For some reason they have been working very slowly on fixing these core functions.
So after 3 days, the only issue I have is at night I read a bunch of different websites on chrome and the program crashes and phone freezes. Nothing works until I press and hold the power button to hot boot the phone. Here is a log, I hope I did it right.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ly9aicq02zkapnl/logcat.txt?dl=0
Does anyone know why I go from 16 gb showing to 9.59 when I use cyanogen rom?

Good job, can't wait to get support for flat!

Fevax, do you think that is better this ROM or Resurrection Remix of Jesse I know that both are working together. I like more RR but I think maybe this will be more "stable" I know that isn't stable but I need to know what of both do you think is the one with the least bugs? Fevax, do you think that is better this ROM or Resurrection Remix of Jesse I know that both are working together. I like more RR but I think maybe this will be more "stable" I know that isn't stable but I need to know what of both do you think is the one with the least bugs? Thank you so much for this fantastic work, I send you a message on FB (old message) because my english isn't so well and I know that you speak spanish too.

Oh it's okay, I saw that says "98% 16 minutes for complete charge" and I though that wasn't fast charging.
Incredible work so far Fevax!
Currently trying your 20161230 build and the improvements from yesterday's build are great - no crashes so far at all. I sideloaded gmscore, phonesky, googleloginservices, and googleservicesframework (which I took from @jesec's rom) to system/priv-app and it all seems to work fine with the stock gapps package. Packages are updating and I'm no longer getting any errors prompting for the framework to be installed.
So I guess I can confirm gapps to be working if you sideload those applications
Bugs:
> The SD can be read by certain apps for music and pictures, but cannot be read by file managers
> Headphone output is super quiet, phone speaker output is fine
> 3D rendering and general performance is mixed
> Otherwise, I can confirm that what you've listed above isn't working.
Interesting things:
> Enabling software buttons increased the framerate

agreed, and also like in RR 7.1.1 Youtube videos in 60FPS make the phone get really hot and battery drains incredibly fast. Also thoses videoa stutter or the image stop while sound continues.

Gzosp or validus? it worked for me on both
Great Rom
I downloaded Validus 28/11 build. And it works fine
Only problem is camrecoder , but it works well with footej camera .
But i have one doubt, validus nougat has many more features than oreo.. will any features be added in future release?
Guys here is my general review for Validus after a 2 days use.. @althafvly
I was actually facing some issues since last 2 days while using this, due to that i was planning to switch on different ROM, but as i have already promised & due to request from some users i'm writing this review..
I'm on XT-1550 2 GB Ram model & Rooted with latest Magisk beta 14.5
Below are the things tested by me.
1 - VoLTE - Working perfectly fine..
2 - Calls - Working fine on both SIM cards, No issues like a low call volume here.
3 - Data - Working fine with first SIM not tested on 2nd SIM.
4 - GPS - Working fine with Google Maps & whatsapp live location.
5 - Wifi & Hotspot - Wifi working fine , not tested Hotspot yet.
6 - Video Calls - Buggy, Tested with Whatsapp & Duo, whenever you're trying to do a whatsapp call to any user it will take a 5-6 sec to display a call screen.. also taking some 4-5 sec to start a video call after call picked up, while video call going on some weird sounds are going on in background (Like Kirr - Kirr)..While on duo there is no connection problems on calls but sound issue is exist here too.
7 - Bluetooth - Working fine & Bluetooth Audio is also working fine.
8 - Sdcard - working fine with Default file manager & ES file explorer (Adopted Storage not tested), I'm unable to test ExFat this time as i have changed my Sdcard file system to FAT32
9 - Audio playback - working fine.. tested with Sony music player app.
10 - Video playback - working fine with Mx player & YouTube... one thing i have noticed that while playing YouTube videos on full screen when i was trying to adjust screen brightness nothing will happened & unable to scroll down brightness slider.. after trying many attempts it was moving once but again stucked.. this is not a case with Mx player.
11 - Screen mirroring - working fine.. tested with My Sony Bravia while playing Youtube video's. (attached screenshot)
12 - PIP mode - working with Whatsapp Video calling.. it's also Working with duo & Google maps.. For YouTube not working for me. Some user's on this Forum confirmed that PIP for YouTube will only works if you have Youtube RED subscription or you need to use Old version of YouTube ( i have not tested this).
13 - Email Sync - working fine.. tested with 2 different Google accounts in Gmail application.
14 - Camera - working fine.. tested with default camera, Moto Z camera & some beauty cams
15 - Video Recording (Camcorder) -Broken but working with Footage Camera sometime. You can upload videos taken on whatsapp.
16 - Clock Alarms - Working fine.
17 - Notification snooze - working fine.
18 - Ambient display - When ambient display turns on, you have to double tap the screen to get to your lockscreen. It was a single tap on Nought ROMs
19 - Security Settings - Pattern & Pin locks are working fine, However I'm not able to use Trusted Face from Smart Lock setting, giving FC
20 - Battery charging LED is off by default & can't see any option to enable it.
20 - Moto gestures/actions working fine.
21 - Root - I have rooted with Magisk 14.5 & Safety net passed without any extra modules. Play Store still shows device is uncertified & to get ride of it clear app data once.
22 - Ram Management & Battery life - Ram Management is good, but i have noticed some lags while using whatsapp & Telegram.. about battery life it is good.. i will post a review today itself for battery life if possible.
23 - WolvesDen - It is basically a special features menu in settings where there are many customization features available.. i have not tested much features from that as i don't like much customization.. Here are some screenshots https://imgur.com/a/4zFWk
24 - Screen Recording - Buggy, i have tested with AZ screen recorder, it may record a videos but recorded videos are have half screen flickering, also whenever you're trying to record a screen at that time at the top right corner between battery stats & time one dotted box comes .. it will be gone after force closing screen recorder app. Check a screenshot from here https://imgur.com/a/CFcUW
What do i think about this ROM ?
The ROM is good except some minor bugs, but it's acceptable as this ROM is at a beta stage.. Good work @althafvly .. I hope you will continue development of this Rom whenever sources get updated or there is a Major changes made..
That's it for now for my this ROM general review.. I hope you all Guys like this review.. Do click on thanks if you like this.. thanks for reading hope to see you on my next review..
Hi Guys,
Here is awaited battery life review for validus.. as many of you're aware i'm a mid-range user (Not too heavey) who never played games on my device.. My device XT - 1550 2 GB Ram Rooted with Magisk 14.5
My Brightness was around 20-25% (Adaptive brightness is off) for the first 6.5 hours of usage & it was on continues 4G for around 6.5 hours on first Sim, After that it was connected to WiFi for all the time.. i have done tone of internet surfing via UC -Browser & also on chrome by this time, used a Whatsapp & Telegram quite a lot, 2 G-mail accounts are logged in my Device.. so mail syncing is also going on in background & played a YouTube videos for which i always watching in 720p.
After 6.5 hours of usage i have reduced my brightness to lower as possible & after that my Device is connected to WiFi router..
I'm continuously surfing XDA & other stuff using a UC browser & also played some YouTube videos & videos with Mx player was always been active on Whatsapp & Telegram also.. Played a music for around 40 min.. Also there is a lot of network fluctuations For JIO & Airtel.. In my home area there is a network fluctuation for almost all operators.. so this will be also impacting on battery life a lot.
Also there is no ghost on this ROM noticed, even it is based on los kernel.. Thumb's up to @althafvly for his great work.. one more good thing is that i have not seen/faced any random reboots while using this ROM..
So what do i think about battery life in this ROM? I think It's quite nice till now.. Good battery backup while comparing to other Oreo ROMs.. I hope the development for this ROM will be continued.. I will be moving now to some different custom ROM... But still if any help required then do let me know @althafvly
That's it for now for my this ROM review.. I hope you all Guys like this review.. Do click on thanks if you like this.. thanks for reading hope to see you on my next review..

Hi, I just tested the two rom and i see that they doesn't have their own boot animation, so i check your device tree on github and see the problem,
in device/motorola/osprey/gzosp.mk :
You need to use :
Code:
TARGET_SCREEN_WIDTH := 720
TARGET_SCREEN_HEIGHT := 1280
instead of :
Code:
TARGET_BOOT_ANIMATION_RES := 720
Because it's what the gzosp vendor search to add the right boot animation ^^
I hope this can help you
By the way, thanks for your work on osprey, it's really cool

The ROM is wonderful, very smooth, good battery, I'm really enjoying it, the best so far, I just had problems with the freeze on the lock screen, I decided to disable it, but I know you'll find a solution soon, looking forward to the next versions, Congratulations to all collaborators!

Been using this ROM for 16 hours and I can say that it's one of the best Oreo ROM for victara. Everything seems fluid and stable. I got a freeze for some seconds while trying to wake my phone. I tried unchecking in pocket detection and it seems fine now. Love the extra options of this ROM. I like the double tap to sleep the phone anywhere on the screen. I will stick to this ROM.
does the sound stutter when you play games like AOV(Arena of Valor) ?
How is the temp and battery on this rom? I have noticed that some 8.1 roms have spikes of temp with moderate to high usage and some deal of battery drain even when not being used?
I just got to know one thing,,,how did you get the Now Playing for songs to work, even with the screen off? Now I really dont miss my Pixel that I sold LOL Great job!
Does it need Gapps?
Interesting read,,,the only problem is for me,,,Now Playing or Ambient Play,, does not stop. I am getting a huge battery drain partial wake lock with audio in,,,which I can only assume is this service. I have tried to shut it off in settings but it is still on. I cant seem to find "Luna Ambient Service" in my apps to force close it either? Is there another way to shut it down so I can only use it when I want?
Kinda weird that no one knows anything about these 8.1 roms or even bothers to answer including the dev for them?
Sapper Morton said:
All credits to Chris Crump:
"So after checking out Carbon Rom's port of the Google Now Playing feature, I shortly realized it's only working on Pixel devices. So initially I began working on getting it to work for any device, but I remembered my post from the other day about reverse engineering a Now Playing alternative.
So I did some digging and found a music app called Encore that has music recognition built it. I learned afterwards it was open source. You know what that means
So over the course of 8 hours I've been stripping the music recognition code out of out the app. It wasn't alot and very simple actually. Its very similar to Google's Now Playing except it pulls the songs fingerprint from a third party database and compares it to the one grabbed from the audio recording. I rewrote it into our own service called Luna Ambient Services (A spin on Pixel Ambient Services)..."

Yes
Can't find the customisation options
Where are the customisation options like statusbar, swap navigation buttons, lock screen etc.? Otherwise fantastic ROM. Thanks.
I installed this ROM last night and its been 22 hours since I am using this.
Few issues I have noticed:
- As mentioned by @huatz84, phone was freezing for 5-8 seconds while waking it up from lockscreen. I turned off "pocket detection" as suggested by @huatz84 and now I do NOT have freeze wake issue
- Biggest problem I am facing is data connectivity issue. Phone does not connect quickly to mobile data connection. Though bar shows full signal with 4g, still speedtest/browser/youtube/apps says no connection. After trying for a minute or two, I am then able to open the links/videos. However, this problem repeats whenever I am using mobile data after few mins of internet inactivity. When it's connected, the data works fast. So it is NOT a problem with signal reception. Tried APN reset, airplane mode off/on, restart phone, 3g/4g toggle - but same results.
- Ambient sound keeps running. Still have not tried the solution that was posted before.
- Apps take couple of seconds longer to open up, especially when using the phone after sometime (might be something related to deep sleep)
What I love
- smooth transitions (except opening of apps mentioned above)
- like the new Oreo look and feel
- battery life good so far but need to monitor closely
- biggest thing--it has support for Moto gestures & wakeup on wave, which I love
If anyone has any suggestions for data connection issue, please let me know. I liked this ROM overall but if data connection issue persists, I will go back to 7.1

Bug Reporting
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab dmesg . (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log

use 12.1.5 last one has broken twrp thats why we not use it as a base
I can't download latest version 1.1 it's always stuck around 500mb.
I will try 1.0 for now....
I did everything according to the instructions in the rom there is no camera application after adding a fingerprint when unlocking the screen brightens to the max
Good afternoon, put 1.1 and the last beta from eu. everything is fine only there is no sound, how to fix it?

Need to use 12.1.5 eu like said in post otherwise things wont work
Some review, good things:
- Faceunlock working fine
- safety net with magisk - PASS, (Magisk v.21.1)
- everything is working fine and smooth, ROM is pretty stable no apps crashes - 2 days using
- SOT is really okey, i got 5h 40min SOT/ 15h standby still 56% available (using only for reading books on chrome browser, maybe some youtube vid, social apps, no games), I can say it's similar to stock global/EEA MIUI
Bad things:
- no camera apk, is any anx available for mi 10?
- Fingeprint scanner is working little better than xiaom.eu rom, but worse than global/EEA stable MIUI - just like czarek1212 said whole screen is flashing to max brightness when scanning fp
- after remove pin/password, it's removes all finger scans also face id
- gallery app is crashing, im using google photos
- setting "recognizing music on lockscreen" is not working
- missing feature "wake up on pickup", it woulb be really nice if u can add this
Overall is very good ROM, im gonna use it as daily. Thank you for your work

Hello, what is the status of this rom? Are there any bugs? How's the camera app quality if compared to the stock camera?

No camera? How can you call a rom stable when there is no camera at all... No other ways to make it work with this rom?

You can install any camera from play store or gcam.
Guys, can anyone upload sort of a "video review" of this rom? I would like to see it in action before I unlock bootloader etc
I didn't follow up - do the AOSP ROMs in general have dual apps feature enabled, or not?
