Dead Moto-x, wont even fastboot. Help? - Moto X Q&A

SO, i have a 1st gen Moto X, the 2013 model. Verizon if that matters.
I havent used it in a while, and it was working when i replaced it. I decided to tinker with it a bit a few months ago, and was trying an unlock method i found online, and appear to have bricked it in the process. I figured, no big deal, and tossed it in a cabinet and figured i'd come back to it later. Well now is later. I'd like to get the thing working so my daughter might be able to play with it.
It wont power on, if you connect it to power, either USB or a wall plug, it does nothing, no charging indicator, nothing. I cant power it on, cant fastboot, cant get to recovery, nothing.
In my attempts to restore it, i've got the moto drivers and whatnot installed, and my Windows laptop will recognise it and add it to device manager, as "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COMx)". Which makes be believe there is hope.
I tried the procedure here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/how-to-resurrecting-bricked-moto-x-t2629057, with no success, i get an error while it's trying to get an handshake from the device.

sdl_hello() - This is a NAK response from ROM code, which means the device has been reset back to blank flash mode. Usually this is caused by power supply issues. Please try again with battery eliminator if it persists
I've had no luck finding a way around that.
If i hold the power button for 10 seconds, while plugged into my PC's usb port, the green indicator light behind the speaker lights up for a second, and then goes out. Same deal if I try to do power+vol-up or vol-down.
Any suggestion that might help me move this along? If i can get it to fastboot, or a recovery image, I think I can get it from there.
Thanks!

That's obsolete, and won't work for your lastest bootloader. See next thread. And don't flash Moto at random next time)

Thanks for the response. I'll give that thread a look!

[Q] reflash stock in fastboot

Hello,
I bricked my KFHD and it is in a reset loop right now. I got a factory cable and plan to try repairing it via fastboot. I need your kind assistance with the proper commands to flash the stock ROM and get out of fastboot if needed. I know that there are instructions for doing so in the original KF but I am not sure that it applies.
Thanks.

Please describe the "reset loop" you are experiencing.
Well at boot it detects something wrong and it prompts me either to reset or reboot. Regardless of what I choose it always returns me to the same prompt. Meanwhile there is no usb connectivity what so ever. I tried the 20 second hold on the power button but nothing changed

When choosing "reset" does it look like its doing anything or does it just reboot?
Hello!
Ive got the same Q.
Messed up preinstalled keyboard, added some apk to /system/app folder. Now my kindle acts very bad....
Default settings in device section doesn't help. I tried to copy update....bin file to kindleupdate folder but it doesn't help, kindle won't flash (as i've already have last ver)
So, is there any way to flash KHD in fastboot mode, or using update.zip file? Mayby have someth like [UTILITY] Kindle Fire Unbrick Utility V1.1! ?
Thx a lot
It starts resetting and a progress bar shows and completes in a couple of seconds. Then it reboots back to the same prompt
I doubt factory reset would help. If my experience is any indication, factory reset will not undo any changes you did to /system. If you messed it up before resetting, you'll still be messed up after.
I think I messed up the /system and I want to try to reflash it
the good news is once you disconnect the cable the device exits fastboot also it shows up as android adb interface in device manager. but I could not get adb to see it. don't know why. I used the same PC that I used to root it and a mac but could not get adb to see it.

Was trying to install Google play. Not sure where i messed up
Do you still have adb access?
The device shows up in the device manager. But adb can't see them

Well, that's helpful. It says you're in fastboot. Try using fastboot to change your bootmode to either recovery or normal mode and see if you can get a different result.
Shouldn't adb recognize it to work with faatboot or are they separate?
how do change the bootmode? How to change it back?
I tried fastboot reboot but all i got is waiting for device message.

ADB and fastboot are completely separate.
Try "fastboot devices"
fastboot devices shows nothing for me
That's likely an issue with your drivers. Try reinstalling them. Or better yet, try the SoupKit and save yourself some hassle.

Not sure what exactly you are attempting to flash? Or how?
Can you provide more details on what happened to your device and what you are now trying to do?
Thanks!
Also note, questions go in the Q&A section, not general. This thread will be moved to Q&A for you. ?
Ah! This is what you are trying...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2629057
Unfortunately, if the method is followed exactly in that thread, and doesn't work.... There isn't much else you can do. Going to a repair shop might be the only way.

My moto x xt1052 older android version 4.4.4, then i am trying to flash (ATT_XT1058_4.4-13.11.1Q2.X-69-3_CFC_1FF.xml) with RSDLite but (gpt.bin) file not to be enter. then i am unlock bootloder (Device is UNLOCKED. Status Code: 3 )
then i am trying to flash with (XT1052_RETAIL-EU_4.4.4_KXA21.12-L1.26_54_cid7_CFC_1FF.xml) then gpt.bin and some file enter but others file not to be enter then not come to fastboot and mobile like dead. then i am completely success with blank flash but same problem here. not come to fastboot and mobile like dead.
You've either downgraded and bricked, or attempted to downgrade and bricked. Ask for help in the thread I linked. But if it doesn't work, your device is likely dead. You'll need a repair shop to look at it.
What could you solve it?

Bricked Samsung S8 (TMO version) showing Qualcomm HS-USB QDloader 9008

Guys need help....I recently bought a Samsung S8 (t-mobile version) without knowing much of its history thinking it had a deeply discharged battery, but after a good 10 hrs on the charger it still won't turn on, no LEDs, no vibration, nothing, a complete black screen so it will NOT boot into recovery or download mode. However, it does seem to take a charge as the back side does get a bit warm when charged. When plugged into the PC (Win 10) it does not get recognized under My PC but I hear the USB plug-in chime and under the Device Manager, I get "Qualcomm HS-USB QDloader 9008" on COM port 3. From what I've found online, seems like I will need the original S8's complete eMMC image and load it onto the sdcard and recover it that way, even if it's possible.
Can anyone help/guide me in the proper direction? Really hoping to recover this device. This might even help others who may have or will brick their S8's. Thanks a lot in advance

ok. from what i am reading, you have a hard brick. that QDloader 9008 is EDL mode. the EDL files that we got from QUALCOMM must be sent to you, and you have to run a QUALCOMM software and apply those files through EDL. I currently have the files but I am not 100% sure how to use them. I recommend contacting https://www.facebook.com/GSMCHEN.up for help. he 100% can.

Some of the files are in plain sight at AFH. The developer has all the required QCOM tools at the link.

Notice it is UFS storage, not EMMC so make sure you have the latest QPST software. Thanks to the developer (hazmat) for the prog file but i believe we will need others also such as .XML's
Messed around with it for a little but didnt figure it out. Hopefully this is a start to dead boot repair for the SM-G955..The Dream2 awakes..

How to unbrick the phone with PC (without SD/PEN) in fastboot mode?

Hello!
I'm writed other question, OTG not working: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/usb-otg-not-working.4297787/
After downgrade HUAWEI P20 PRO CLT-L09 C432 with official HiSuite (with proxy to old 8.1 firmware), flashing end = error. After power off, only blank screen. No recovery, no eRecovery, no power on.
After pressed power, the CPU started heating and still hand warm. USB not powered (no 5V out). (After attached USB cable, PC detected in fastboot mode (with/without accu) "Android Sooner Single ADB Interface". Test pins shorted (below flasher led), no reaction.
Bootloader locked, Multi-Tool or Miracle Box flasher/unbricker "stock service flash" downloaded to phone and failed (download to phone ok, CRC ok, no write permission).

Hisuite not support this phone recovery. No other method to unbrick, only SD-update.
The phone not powered OTG = SD-update not working!
Test with powered USB hub?
Cable tested other type phone, good. Cable tested other working P20 Pro (not available menu to "reverse charge" = phone not supported OTG).
How to reflash firmware?
Thanks!
Ps.: Chat the Huawei service: No home recover method. 5-10 day in a service time and if mainboard change too big money. (Now changed LCD and need new battery + service fee... --> phone go to trash.) ...or other home servicing???
