Only thing I dont like is that the USB C port cutout is too sharp. When I hold it with my finger, it seem to cut it at times

No regrets at all. Just AOSP rom would be a lot better, which should arrive soon.

The device has a piss-poor camera. Guess that's the only thing I regret. Its so bad that some phones almost 2years old takes better photos.
This is because of the very small Omnivision sensors used on this device.
But I knew about this even before I bought the device and since I don't take a lot of photos on my phone, it doesn't bother me much.
The fact that the device is very fragile and doesn't have any premium cases available also bugs me a bit. I really wish there were some decent looking protective cases for this phone.

Try the Pelosi case.
It's a slim TPU case with a sandstone finish & available in several colors.
It's available on eBay & several other on line retail sites

I've seen the Pelosi case online. The product images looked like the case didn't offer much in terms of protection, especially around the screen. Also the material seemed to be very light, possibly to keep the case slim. The case looks good and I was tempted to buy. I didn't because of these reasons.
But if you have the case and its good, please post photos in my thread. Link
I created that thread as there are very few good cases available for this device and if everyone could post photos of what case and screen protector they had on the device, it would help other buyers too.

That's the Love Mei Powerful case! I saw it a few days back on ebay. Mine is on the way from China. Did you get it too?
It should arrive next week. Have you ordered this too?
The case is a bit large though.
Please post pictures of your current setup on this thread and also if you happen to receive the Love Mei case before me.
Check out the case I am currently using. I have added photos here. Also available on ebay.

I did, until I got the unlock approval. I immediately flashed the xiaomi.eu rom and (most) of my gripes were dealt with; being android auto not working and horrible background battery drain. I still hate the home screen icon backgrounds, the fact it wont rotate, and the stock dpi... but other than that I am happy, for now.

My only complaint is that the screen is too small for my liking. I've had several larger phones in the past and I really miss the extra screen real estate. It almost seems like the screen is too skinny and long. So webpages are still small but long.

Try 320dpi. I'm lovin it! 320 was the stock dpi on the Xperia Z Ultra I had a few years back. And it works great on the Mix too. I feel 320 should have been the default DPI on the Mix.

I thought a dpi that low would break things on this device? Like the icons get screwed up or something?
I had a Z ultra too, loved it.

No issues mate! I'm on the EU ROM and I don't see any issues at 320. This should have been the stock DPI. I can confirm that everything works fine. No issues with icon or any UI elements. Stock apps and all the other usual apps work great as well. All good! You'll be able to see more info on the screen and I bet you'll love 320!
I was waiting for something like the Z Ultra to show up. And finally it did! If you had the Z Ultra, you may remember that camera wasn't Sony's priority. It was all about the experience. And Xiaomi has made that experience even better! The mix is just perfect!

I just tried 320DPI, oh man, I love it!!! It even fixed my News360 app that I love but would only show me 2 articles per screen on this phone and now shows 6!
The only downside is that top status bar with the clock and battery and such is pretty small. But that's certainly a good compromise as the reset of the phone looks normal now, all I did was bump the UI font size up from small to medium and it all looks great.
All of the icons appear to be working fine, but I use Nova Launcher, so maybe that why.
320 DPI is pretty much a standard DPI for android, and so I expect alot of apps are tuned for that DPI.
Thanks for the great suggestion! The phone looks like a normal phone now....

Received mine today. I thought I could get by without a case but no way. It's slippery! Luckily a case came with it.

There are, just use eBay or AliExpress.
About the camera you can take better pictures with another camera app or just learn to hold still and focus correctly xD I can take n decent photos.
It was easier in my s7 edge but even so I knew from the beginning this camera was inferior.
Here you have some photos taken by the default camera app and being steady.
I would say it's the same type of quality of my old LG g3 if you learn how to use it ?

Those are some good clicks mate! Like I said, camera was not a priority for me when I bought this device. I usually don't use my phone cameras a lot and only for some occasional snaps.. I knew that this device had an inferior camera compared to the competition.
Most people usually depend on their phone's camera for random clicks like when your drunk friend is doing something funny at a party or when it appears as if your dog is smiling. Random events like these, when you may not have your dedicated camera at hand. That's when your phone's camera is handy. And for casual spur of the moment clicks like these, this phone's camera is quite unreliable. In most cases those moments you intended to capture would end up as a blurry or noisy mess.
Like you said, if you put enough effort, you may be able to get a few good shots like you just shared. But that was not my point as it defeats the purpose of a phone's camera.

Jeez, nothing wrong with those at all.

I agree as well. Took a few shots and pics look fine. From all the reviews, I was expecting worse.

Best phone I've ever owned.
iPhone 4 -> iPhone 5 -> HTC One -> Samsung S5 LTE-A -> Note 7 (pretty nice) -> Xiaomi Mi Mix.
This thing is a MONSTER. Fast as hell, best battery I've ever seen (better than the Note 7), humongous display, sexy as build quality, tons of RAM, tons of fast memory, fast charging, etc. I'm surprised this exists.

Hey guys, I've read every single review out there. And frankly. In a few weeks I need to make a choice. And I want to hear it from a community which knows what they are tanking about.
First. Whats the deal with the screen protector?
Is it the main cause of the viewing angle issues I keep reading about? Following that, if I get scratches in it and choose to take it off, is it then completely Without warranty or is that something they tend to overlook?
Secondly. The screen size is not that large considering it's size (which I don't mind) I see there is some tools for removing the nav bar. Will they work fine during games too?.
The build quality looks absolutley stunning and honestly, I don't mind viewing angles keeping nosey viewers out. I also see the Camera gets a lot of heat. But from some of the pictures posted, it's more than good enough for me.
It's ether this, the note 3 or the ultra. Knowing what you guys know now, what would you do?
Any kind comments, thoughts or advice. Please let me know!

first: its a shatter proof film not a screen protector, get a tempered glass one or a good standard one
second: dont know much about this but mods exist to reduce the size of the nav bar dont fret.
the camera is good, not as good as an DSLR but its a great camera phone.
the battery life is good 5hours SOT in 24 hours not bad.
the XZU has a great screen but crappy camera, the N3 has a great saturated screen and a good camera too, but looks tacky to me (that faux leather back its weird in all levels).
Thanks for clearing some things up there asa. To be fair I am not a big camera man. If I must desperately take a picture, I dig out the SLR which turned out to be a BIG waste of money. Never gets used.
I'm here for that attractive look, glass and aluminium. The only thing I have ever envied from the apple users. Can't beat the feel of some cold metal in your hand. And water resistance of any kind is only a plus texting in the rain is something that can happen regular for me. This note 1 is lucky to be alive.
Mostly I don't do much calling either. Don't care much for the external speaker either, its got headphones plugged in. This will be a texting and gaming commute machine. The reason this isn't an easy decision is I can't seem to find a store in the Netherlands which has that ultra on display. I don't mind big, but I do mind it hanging out of my pocket like a big neon invitation to be stolen
I've practically been measuring pockets to try and figure it out without actually seeing on, although they are available online, it obviously cannot physically been viewed.
Seen the z1, very impressed. Just wish the screen was a tad bigger. 5.7 to 6 is about the sweet spot for me so I don't know

I think that 5" is the perfect screen size for me. The ONLY thing I have a problem with on this phone is the screen, it's not great, it's good but it isn't great. The headphone jack isn't covered by a flap so that should be a plus for you.
Hey TheCraig. Thanks for chiming in. Community seems nice and active here which is a sure bonus.
I've never really gamed on a 5", my main games being real racing 3, order and chaos online, FIFA 14 and scummVM. I'd properly try and get into the nice graphical shooters if this phone had the power. The note 1 struggles with all those games other than scumm (naturally).
What might well swing me over to the z1 is after reading some of the experiences of others there, the ultra seems to bend pretty easily if under any pocket pressure. its going to be a xperia for me. Still can't decide on the z1 or the ultra :banghead:
Thanks to the mods by the way for moving this thread, sorry about that!

A few things to consider.
1. The one is large bigger than my Xperia Z was. The lg G2 and nexus5 both have less bezel and fit better in the hand
2. As for camera it good just takes practice, that said i would say it that much better than G2 or N5
3. Battery life is really good I get 5 hours of screen time which is the best I've had in any phone
4. This phone is fast not sure if it is faster than the N5 but l like Sony's skin it nice and clean
5. Waterproofing is nice to have, but comes at the cost of flaps, invest in a dock for sure
6. The screen is fine but not the best in class for sure.
7. It does get warm playing games
8. If you want updates get the N5, Sony is not the fastest with updates but nor is it the worst.
9. It's the best looking of the bunch IMO
10. The Walkman app is great love it

Thinking of buying G Flex - Need some opinions

Hi guys I'm thinking of buying LG G flex and looking for some opinions. Im an Xperia Z user and a very satisfied user. I didnt even think of changing my phone and its been with me for a year but the G flex caught my eyes and the main reason why i wanna buy it is because its different and curved. Here are some things that Im not so sure about so if you can help me with it using your experience then Id be grateful
1- Screen quality - now to be honest, im not a tech expert or someone that will look at the screen very closely to find pixels. Im a normal user, i like watching some videos and web browsing. the g flex has got a lot of criticism on the 720p display so what do you guys think in general? im coming from a 1080p display but i dont think ill have a lot of problems with the 720p display? some reviews i read were horendous that u cant even look at the screen its so bad. i know its not that bad. i just want to know if its a good screen that can show videos and pictures nicely. nothing extra extra sharp. also, im using hp envy x2 which is a tablet and laptop hybrid featuring a 720p display. i love it and dont have any problems against the screen. but i dont know whether 11 inch tablet screens are difff from phone screens and if tablet screens are even better at 720p?
2-screen ghosting. this is another thing ive heard a lot but havent heard anything about it from regular users. is screen ghosting a major issue and does it happen regularly? i plan on using it at 60% or + brightness because the battery is huge so will screen ghosting still be present? and is there a fix? is it a deal breaker?
3 Screen bumps- ive seen videos where users show bumps on their screens which lg admitted as well i think its because of flexing the screen. is bumps a regular issue for you guys? if i get a bump, it there a way to fix it or will it stay forever ?
4- Back- someone told me that the back of the device looks cheap and is uncomfortable?
5 Breaking - this might sound weird but did anyone break their device is the curved and flexible screen and design sensitive and will it break if it drops?
6 -Usable- i havent used a 6 inch phone before so this is a general question of whether the phone seems fine in usage? my xperia z is 5 inches but i dont consider it as big at all but do u guys feel that 6 inches is manageable? i had a blackberry playbook once and it was very big at 7 inches and NOT AT ALL something i couuld use as a phone. so how is the 6 inch phone? is it TOO big? or does it seem fine??
Thanks is advance
1. Screen is good but grainy, but for videos this is one of the best screens I have held, and the battery timings for watching videos is phenomenal. You can watch unto 20 hours of video on this phone not to mention overall battery timings as well.
2. Ghosting is definitely there and can be a problem at start but you get use to it slowly, I am use to it now though it was a bit annoying at start.
3. No bumps so far and I have flexed it quite often.
4. The back of this phone is the most premium thing about this phone, it's great to hold and though it looks slippery but it is quite wonderful to grip and doesn't slip.
5 No certain answer for breaking cus you can break anything you want but the construction of the phone is quite solid.
6. It's a big phone and can be a problem if you have small hands but as you have mentioned that 7 inches tablet is fine for you then this shouldn't be a problem at all.
Bottom line: the best phone if you are a phablet lover and you can't use anything else.

is ghosting there even at high brightness? i think thats pretty bad if ghosting is always there
I've had my flex about a month and I haven't seen any burn in or ghosting. Which from my reading should only happen during the first few weeks of device use if at all. I came from a galaxy s4 and I'll tell ya the screen looks as good as the s4 99% of the time I have noticed the grainy look but only on a few pics. Doesn't always look grainy. I think its just certain colors and maybe pic quality that's my opinion.
As far as breaking. I've dropped mine a couple times and its fine. No cracks the back doesn't feel cheap at all. There's a video of a guy hyper extending the phone probably 15° and it didn't break the screen. The LCD I believe is flexible its the rest of the phone is not. And I think you will only see the bumps in the screen if you try flattening it out or hyper extending it like the guy in the video. Which the bumps appeared from internal parts poking the back of the LCD when bent.
Coming from a very speedy Galaxy S4 to this ....
I'm very pleased. Its faster smoother less lag screen just as good to me but bigger which is a good thing.
I love it. I would recommend and buy another.

Yes but I hardly even notice the ghosting anymore. I did at first. Really only noticeable for me when using stock sms with dark background in sms and going from white to dark when opening messages.

Just like so many others, I have not been bothered in any way with ghosting, graininess, or any of the other non sense you have been reading on the internet; all that crap comes from Samsung fan bois, so ignore it..
sounds like you are a lot like me; you don't micro stare at every little aspect of your cell phone, so you will absolutely LOVE this phone; there is a slight blue hue/graininess at times, but moving the brightness up a bit gets rid of it, if it bothers you; it doesn't bother me one bit!
bumps? never heard of it from ANY of the users here. Obviously some idiot abused his phone somehow, and caused something unusual to happen.
how the hell does the back of a device "look cheap"? sounds like more fanbois stupidity..
I've dropped it a couple of times, with no issues to it, so its not like a fragile china vase..
And, if you are ok with your xperia at 5 inches, you won't have any issues with this one...
I'm happy with mine so far. I've always used high end Samsung service's. Best performance I've ever had on a phone. Imo there is only one phone in this category that is better and it's. The note 3. But I just wanted to give this a try cause... well I played with it in the store and I really liked it. If somebody talks badly about this they are just super particular.

This phone has a "cool factor" that no other phone out now can match....
Coming from a long line of Samsung devices that I've enjoyed very much I took a chance on the Flex about a month back because I like to watch a fair amount of video on my phone and thought it might prove superior for this purpose. A month on I'm not disappointed. I love the screen. I keep the brightness up and haven't been disappointed at all with the quality. I don't miss my Note 3's 1080P. I've had no issues with the phone from bending and such and enjoy the feel of the phone in the hand when texting and making calls. The Flex is very fast and the battery lasts forever. Honestly my only complaint and it is a minor one is that the rear of the phone picks up dust and lint easily, I assume due to the coating. This is not a big deal to me. Overall I would easily purchase this phone again.

Went from a Note 3 to the flex. Don't miss the Note at all. Really loving this phone, just wish development was more active, ..but after rooting and do a few things. I'm pretty happy with it as is. Great phone. Probably never go back to Samsung again. Their phones have gotten "common" and boring.

Why are you asking us lol? If it was ne i would be asking myself why would i want a phone larger then a 6inch which is the biggest i go s for me heck no i wouldn't trade my flex for no mega, that phone is just over doing it i'm sorry but i don't understand the why over due it as a 6 inch is just the perfect size now you have to ask yourself why do you want the mega not ask us because majority might and will say they wouldn't do it but you have to understand that's us at the end if the day our opinion shouldn't matter if you are interested in the mega so there for if you played with one then you should know what you want to do.

I owned the G Flex for a week before I traded it back in on a Note 3. There were just several things I didn't like about it (screen quality & ghosting issues being the driving factors) that caused me to return it. I do miss the Flex sometimes because I thought the curved screen was a great design, but I do not regret my decision to go with the Note 3 as it's easily the best device I've ever owned.
That said, if you can get past the graininess of the screen and the fact that it's not as sharp as the 1080p screens that are out now, it's a fantastic phone. The battery life is second to none (since the screen is only 720p, it drains the battery much slower than the higher res 1080p screen would), it's very smooth and the curved design fits well in your hand. It also has a huge 6" display. The hardware buttons on the back are also a nice touch. All in all, it was a great attempt by LG to try something a little different. Though I did come from a Note 2, I am by no means a Samsung fanboy. My favorite phone prior to this was my HTC Evo3D. I wanted really bad to love the Flex but in the end, I just didn't feel like the things I did like about it could make up for it's shortcomings and in such, I just couldn't commit to it as my daily driver for the next year.

Being the phone junkie I am one of the things I like most about buying new phones is something different and that's why I got the Flex.
Screen - I look at the 720p Flex screen as a pro because that's why the battery life is so great. It's really nice not having to worry about charging your phone for 24 hrs even with heavy use. I had a G2 before my Flex and I don't miss the 1080 screen. I never watch reviews because most of them the people don't even use the phone for that long plus I like to see for myself. The good thing is you get 14 days.
Screen ghosting - I'm not sure if this is that but when I play QuizUp I see the image for a second or two after it goes away sometimes. It doesn't bother me. That's even when the brightness is maxed. I only turn down the brightness when in bed and the Flex battery makes it around 24 hrs on one charge with heavy use.
Screen Bumps - I'm pretty sure this only happens when you Flex the Flex. Just don't do that any you should be fine. I think it's another thing the LG haters like to talk about.
Back of the phone looks cheap - Ummm nothing looks cheap with the Flex. It's a solid phone. The phone is thin and the back is slippery plus the phone tends to pick up lint more then others. I put on a Otter Box 360 skin to keep the phone thin. Phone isn't slippery and less lint/ fingerprints.
Breaking - Ummm just take care of the phone and you'll be fine.
Size - The Flex is so thin it fits fine in my front jeans pocket but I don't wear skinny jeans. lol The phone doesn't feel big. IMO That's another thing that is subjective.
Here's my 2 cents, this phone is great the screen is a bit grainy, but with brightness turned up you won't notice it. Ghosting does happen but only when switching between apps and only for like 2 seconds then it's fine. My only complaint about this phone is the camera, it takes amazing pictures when out in the sun or in a room with ample lighting, but I went to a concert the other night and took pictures and I had to really play with the settings to get the pictures to be decent. For me I'm disappointed at that and hope that this issue will be addressed with kit Kat update, but seeing as I go to only a few concerts a year it's by no means a deal breaker. Like someone said earlier, you have 14 days to play with it. If it doesn't fit with what you want in a phone then just take it back, but I have a feeling that you won't because this phone is a beast!

hmm i think i really like the g flex now. considering im not someone who will try to compare the phone with 1080p displays, i think it should be a good fit. I use my hp envy x2 tablet/laptop all the time and its also 720p so the sharpness doesn't bother me. For the grainy party, i think i can turn the brightness way up coz of the long battery life someone i know has Note 2 and ive had it in my hands a couple of times and i dont find it bulky or uncomfortable but the g flex is still at 6 inches. do u think if im comfortable with note 2, then g flex shouldn't also be a problem, in terms of handling it etc? as u guys mentioned, ghosting isnt a deal breaker for any of you and it happpens for 1 seconds only so i think i can live with it?
I have had mine for two weeks now.
1. Screen Quality - Its 720 display, if you are coming from an older phone, you won't notice a "lack" of 1080p. Further, the curved screen does work out better for viewing angles. The "grainyness" is not a problem. As noted in many reviews, if you hold the Note 3 and the Flex side by side, you will see a difference, but the quality is not necessarily better.
2. Ghosting not an issue for me. Is it there? Sometimes, is it a problem... no.
3. Screen bumps - As another poster stated, don't do bending tricks with your phone and you won't see these bumps. I haven't seen any yet.
4. Back - Really? Who with a 600 dollar phone doesn't put it immediately in a $50 dollar case? You can't even see the back. That being said, if you carry it bare, it really is very thin with a very well designed back material. It fits very well in your front pocket.
5. Breaking is only an issue if you have an issue breaking phones.
6. Usability is really dependent on the size of your hand. I have smaller hands, so I find myself using it two handed (I bought it for data rather than phone calls), and for phone calls I use bluetooth. The one time I held it to my head, it did feel odd, but not any more odd then a 4.7" phone. I really hate hot glass on my face. You really have to just try it out, I think people can get used to anything if they want to.
any more opinions? or experiences?

[Q] Would you guys recommend buying the LG G Flex?

Hi,
I'm looking for a new device, as my Note 1 looks like it's about to join the big charger in the sky.
I know the basics - large screen, good battery & processor, meh resolution etc. Judging form the specs and reviews I've read, it looks like a good fit for me.
What I'd like to know is if you'd recommend buying it for long term use (I'm not one to change phones every year), and if there are issues with the phone you think I should know about.
It's a great phablet. Fast, comfortable and bug free. Battery seems to last forerver. Feels solid yet slippery in the hand, and close to impossible to use one handed. You won't feel the difference made by the 720p resolution after a few hours. Color reproduction is great and the screen is sharp and bright.
Coming from the note 2, i see only 3 downsides In the flex.
1. The camera. Real slow to focus indoors, produces lots of noise in dark areas... Sometimes i cant determine where the focus point is. Perfect daylight and closeups though.
2. Lack of development. This phone is locked down tight, so if you love to flash like me, it's a disappointment.
3. No cases, no glass screen protectors. Almost. You can still find them around ebay and amazon, but not as much stuff a samsung would have.
On the bottom line this is a great mid-high range phone, and for the right price, and the right mind it will do.

Thanks!
I don't really care about the camera. The lack of development is a bummer. Might have been a deal breaker for me if it wasn't for Xposed.
Oh, one more thing - some users had an issue with ghosting or after images on the screen. Anyone had this problem? How widespread is it?

It really is a matter of luck... Some of the phones were bad from factory.. You have something like that, you'll get it replaced with your warrenty.
If you want to keep it long term and lack of updates (and also latest apps) will bug you then I suggest Nexus 6 over it. My dad has this phone and I have the nexus, dont get me wrong g flex is a nice phone but starting to fall back in technology and will likely not get updates for 2+ years

still worth buying?

My s7 edge is pretty busted up and I need a new phone ASAP. Is the note 8 still worth buying? I'm between it and the s8 plus. I hear the s9 is coming out in a few months or something. Are there any known defects I should be aware of so I can inspect the phone when I get it? I'm weary because I had the note 7 and that a fiasco that was.
I LOVE my Note 8. I've had it for about a month, and had an S8+ before that. The S8+ and the N8 are very similar, actually. The N8 has a 0.1 inch bigger screen with less rounded corners. It is bigger, thicker, and heavier than the S8+, but also feels more solid and premium.
The N8 has 2GB more RAM and a dual lens camera with 2x optical zoom. But the S8+ has a bigger battery.
The real differentiating factor is the S-Pen. Some people use it everyday, others never take it out of the phone. I personally use it more and more.
The S8+ is cheaper for basically the same experience, and I was very happy with it, but I found a great deal on a used N8, so I bought it. I think it's worth every penny over the S8+. But I wound up keeping my S8+ as a backup phone anyway, so now I have both. Either one is a worthy upgrade to the S7 Edge.
As far as defects to look out for? There were issues with the S8+ screen having a red or pink tint. The bigger issue was the one that had UNEVEN tinting. So check out the screen and make sure it's true white and even all across. I don't believe the N8 had that same problem, or at least it was not as prevalent.
Now, do you get the S8+, the N8, or wait for the S9+? Here are my thoughts:
True the S9+ is a couple months away, so you could wait for it. But then when it releases, the Note 9 will be just a couple months away, so you could wait for it. But then what about the S10? Etc... There is ALWAYS something better right around the corner.
Honestly, the S9+ looks like an incremental upgrade. Dual camera and 6GB of RAM. Both of which are available in the Note 8 now. It will have a slightly faster SD845 processor and faster Iris scanner (reportedly), but not sure if that's worth the wait.
My opinion: get the Note 8. It already has the extra RAM and the dual lens camera. If you shop around, you can get a used one fairly cheap now, almost as cheap as an S8+. Cheaper in my case, actually.
Get the Note 8. Big boys phone (or girl)
S8/S9 etc are brilliant and all... But they just seem... Oh I don`t know. Boring is the wrong word.
"Samey" is maybe the right word.
There may be marginally higher specced phones round the corner, but when isn`t there?
Get the note. It seems more "grown up". And it will be worth more come upgrade time than a s8+
I am really enjoying mine. And I`m strictly a Moto fan (at least what moto was before Lenumptys bought the brand)
Thanks for the responses guys.... I actually just watched some s9 videos and yeah there's nothing about it that blows the note 8 out of the water. I don't really care about the finger print sensor because I plan on using the iris scanner mostly. Are there any good screen protector that work with the note 8 curves screen though? I want to get a good one on it as soon as I can.

I've been using these film ones from Amazon on 2 Note 8's and a S8 + and we are happy. I'm not a fan of the glass ones because of the dot matrix effect and what not.
I hope the note 9 has 8 GB Ram, if not will wait for Note 10.

For film, I've used Spigen protectors and they were great. For glass, one of the more popular full adhesive screen protectors is Whitestone Dome. Zagg also has a new one that looks promising. Finally, there were a few cheap ones that were absolute garbage for me, lol... Check out the accessories threads for more info.

I have it on mine and it's perfect, but yes I've read about some people having issues...Then again, I've read negatives about every TGSP! Works for me, but buyer should always research of course
Apologies for off-topic.
No doubt Note 8
If you look at my older posts..I had a Galaxy S7 Edge too. It's motherboard got fried on it's own lol. So I had to buy a new phone. I was confused with N8 and S8 too..and in my country the price difference was just around 80-90 dollars so I went with Note8. Also I am using it completely stock. No Screen Protection and only the transparent case that I got inside the box. I have learned one thing about phones in today's world...Whenever you buy a new phone, just unsubscribe from all the tech channels and newsletters as they keep pushing about the latest and greatest phones, which makes you feel that your phone is somehow outdated now. So just buy a phone and forget that newer phones exists. That way your phone will be brand new for more than 5 years.

Just busting your chops ha. Yeah nothing perfect. I am not loyal to brands. Only stand by whats best for protection. I like tech 21. But to some customer service blows. Screen protector good, but way to many steps to install. Case I love ❤

Black for me but it's a personal preference. If you get a case or something maybe consider that color too so they match. Really up to you though
I bought a exynos duos. It has a premium phone but
- aod drains a lot of battery so I'm pretty angry because it has not sense turn it off to get better sot.
- edge lighting doesn't work too... so bad because if you can't use aod at least edge lighting...
- I really don't know how to get 6 hour or more sot... tried everything (black theme, turn everything off, medium psm, worst resolution, etc).
- the virtual keys burns the pixel of the screen so u have to set auto hide
- Samsung support [email protected]#^ks
- most snote features disabled
Btoh:
- not matter if you use performance mode every day... it uses the same amount of battery life but slightly improve sound and screen visualisation; 2% more of battery usage.
- the phone is a monster: excellent camera, ultra fast...
- spen really nice
If note's problems don't get fixed with Oreo update consider think if really want to buy 1000 dollar smartphone and can't use it main and unique features. Also if you think to use mpsm to get more battery b life it will be like to buy a car and walk to work because use to much gasoline...
Btw... grey is the best colour

I have a duos (950FD) too, but without burn-in issues, and I always get 6-7 hours SOT... Maybe a rogue app draining your battery there. Also, can you explain more about why your edge lighting doesn't work?

Edge lighting issue is not just mine... take a look on Google and you will see that is a extended problem throw users. Edge lighting simply don't works on turned off screen or on.
About battery drain... just a few apps installed and I tested with and without aod stuff. Without it 6 hours at max: with it 4 max (6% usage). Also with aod deep sleep has a few % running.

Question Blue hue shift on screen

I got my phone yesterday and started noticing specially in white background a slight blue hue when tilting the phone or even by looking straight at it, I can see it at the top and bottom of the screen if looking straight.
My ocd is always kicking in and I can't unsee it.
I've tried different color modes but it's still there.
Am I the only one ? I searched a bit and it seems "normal" in amoled screens but how could it be normal, I've never had phones with amoled but always heard it's the superior screen but to me it's not looking good.
I'm happy with the phone as I couldn't stand anymore my old trusty honor 9 with it's old battery with 3h sot and frequently laggy and outdated software but I must say the honor 9 feels and looks premium where this feels meh. the plastic frame even has some very small dents from manufacturer.
The worst thing is I paid 340€ for the honor when it came out and this for 450€ should be equal or even better in everything.

Really ?
I was thinking of buying a glass protector for it but can't find any.
What I noticed is that the Neo 2 looks exactly the same as the GT 2, even the camera layout.
I'm tempted to buy the ibywind version, looks like the most complete with the frame aligment.

I've been looking on ebay and most listings for cases have Neo 2 / GT 2 in them. Screen size is the same and camera placement looks similiar. If it has GT 2 in the listing and doesn't fit then you should get a full refund at lesat as you can say item not as described

Do you have the same issue with the screen ?
I was going to buy the ibywind glass today as it looks it's the only one with the hole for the selfie cam so it should be the better one I guess. All the other chinese random name brands don't have it for some reason.
I also noticed some of them listing gt neo 2/gt 2 compatible.
But there's some people complaining about the fingerprint sensor not working properly after so I'm holding the buy for now. Hopefully in the upcoming weeks more products and reviews come out.
Looks like this GT series was a fail. Barely any videos, reviews, accessories. The lack of posts in this forum tells the same.
Realme should sell glass protection for their phones as they show a warning about using only approved realme screen protectors but where are they ?

I keep my phone on dark mode most of time and force dark mods where possible, I haven't noticed any issues but then I cannot see any issue with the pictures you posted either so maybe my eyesight is weaker.
I saw that but setting up fingerprint again after new protector should get rid of issues.
I myself am going to wait a little while and just use case + cover supplied until there is supplier based in my country so I don't have to import from china
