SOLVED Need help w/4.01 OTA ("Move installation package into SD card root directory")
Just got my 3T. It's currently running 3.5.4. (Check for updates shows "OnePlus A3000_28_161213")
So new, I haven't even rooted it yet.
I've downloaded the 4.01 OTA from Google Drive (OnePlus3TOxygen_28_OTA_035-037_patch_1701041831_c9652aee6cc.zip) onto myPC, and moved the file to my phone.
But every time I try to select Local Upgrade, I get the message:
Move installation package into SD card root directoryI've tried:
adb push to /sdcard
adb push to /storage/emulated/0
copying the file using Windows Explorer
Same result every time.
What do I have to do so it recognizes the file?

Update: I ended up downloading the Full Zip (OnePlus3TOxygen_28_OTA_037_all_1701041831_a2ba632ce9.zip) instead of the OTA file.
Copied that to the SDcard, and Local Upgrade worked.

i had this 2 and there's 2 things you can try:
make sure you move all or any files you want to see or use in the root directory not in any folder, if that doesn't work reboot & check
lastly & oddly enough i used opera VPN so i could see the ota update BUT didn't do it but then i could see my local updates even after I turned off the von pretending to be in Canada
i hope that helps it worked for me
I still don't have the update in the USA but instead of doing the update manually im going to change location to Canada and do it over VPN using Opera im sooooo anxious waited from last Friday but I'm dying now hahahaha

Reboot to recovery mode and try a local install, you'll have to browse to it. This worked for me.

Or try adb sideload

Solved it!

Ok trying to update to the new 514 update...

I put the package on my SDcard and renamed it to update.pkg and then tryed to install it by the Software Update via update.pkg option in the recovery and then as it was going it suddenly says SDCard not enough space, I cleared up the SD and then put it in and then the next run it says FOTA Model Name Mismatch or something like that.
I'd like help, my build is 19534, I want to get it to the new 21700 build that would occur from updating...
Did you do the recovery.img using the "fastboot" method..?
I did the recovery.img as you said and then installed the package it went through
Thanks.

[Q] Fastboot will not see my device, Recovery does. Unable to push files.

I had the SD card issue where it wasn't seeing all my files. Recovery mode would see files I could not locate within the os.
What I did:
Backed up my contents. Always have a nandroid backup!
Downloaded and md5sum checked Trickdroid 8.0.0
Booted into recovery, wiped phone. Formatted all partitions.
My next plan of action was to adb push trickdroid. This failed, its not seeing my sdcard partion. I have attempted to format /sdcard. It returns no errors. I got to mount /sdcard, It fails to find the directory.
When I boot into fastboot (Thinking at the very worst I could relock my device nad flash an RUU)
It does not see any devices. I have verified multiple times that I am using the correct driver. I have removed all drivers from the system, attempted to use htc sync, uninstalled that, used the Naked Drivers, uninstalled those (still no device in fastboot), installed the ADB Driver installer (found using the search button). Still, no devices in fastboot.
If someone could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. I have been using adb and flashing devices for a number of years and have not yet encountered a problem like this.

I fixed it!!! Anyone that has a similiar issue. This is what I did.
In a previous thread, I saw that 4.2 will redo the sd card structure. After some research, it was recommended to change the path to /data/media/0. I was then attempting to do the command as follows 'adb push Trickdroid_8.0.0.zip /data/media/0' (without tick marks)
The file was pushing as it should (no progress bar) however, it would fail at the very end saying it was unable to locate the directory.
After seeing adb fail in that manner, I knew my sdcard was not mapped to the above path. What I did was boot into recovery, go to mounts and storage, mount my sdcard. Go back to the first menu now.....From here, select advance, and view log. It will tell you where your sdcard is being mapped to. Simply push your zip file to this directory and success! I have a working phone again.
Fastboot still doesn't recognize my device however. I'd be more then happy to be educated as to what I may have done wrong.

Cannot access /sdcard directory

Basically I accidentally factory reset my phone from the bootloader (i was supposed to enter recovery but went 1 option down and pushed the power button then it started the reset).
Now when I flashed the ARHD rom again (which was working perfectly fine before), i cannot take pictures, it says "unable to save file to sd card due to insufficient file permissions". If I open file manager it shows nothing, but if I go to the settings it shows the SD card only has 5GB left.
I can also open TRWP's file manager and go to the /sdcard directory and see all my pictures etc there on the sdcard.
When I plug in the HTC One via USB to my laptop I cannot access the sdcard contents...
I even tried to push some files via adb but it says "remote object "file name" does not exist" when it definitely does because I can see it on the TRWP file manager.
Any help is very much appreciated, I tried full wiping and reflashing but it still exists...
Is there any way I can fix this without losing all my sdcard contents?
Help is very much appreciated!

Try this, using a Terminal emulator on your phone. (you can download one from the play store if you need one) Enter these commands
Code:
su
restorecon -FR /data/media/0
Reboot and check sd. If that fails you should be able to fix it with e2fsck and an adb command window but try the terminal emulator first. :good:

Did I brick my phone?

Background: I have the XT1064 (unlocked, single sim), and I actually just bought this phone. I ordered it because I have a droid Turbo that I don't want to risk custom ROMs on, so I figured this $100 device would be good to play with. I first unlocked the bootloader, courtesy of motorola, and then I flashed custom recovery (TWRP). A bit of tinkering later and I discover I can't get the recovery to stick. "oh well, I can plug in my phone and type a command on boot no problem." Next, I tried flashing the latest release of CM12.1 for my phone (titan) and I get an error. I search around trying to fix the error, and everyone says "use the latest nightly (CM13)" and "factory reset your phone via twrp" so that's what I do. Next, after waiting for my phone to start up, I get everything rolling so I can copy my new image over.
Problem: I find that access is denied to "sdcard/download" so I try other folders in sdcard. None are allowed for adb.
Attempted solutions: On my phone, I install ES file explorer, which reveals that everything in sdcard/ is gone except the Android folder, and an extensionless file called TWRP. Still not suspecting anything, I attempt to create a "download" folder. No luck, access still restricted. I tried downloading a file via the internet browser, "failed to find downloads directory". Everything in sdcard is barred from me. Besides the SuperSU that's half-installed (part of twrp apparently) this is a factory new device, I purchased it from best buy via ebay. Is my phone toast already? Or is there something I can do?

Since you can boot it, it's not bricked, if ur on cm 13 , ur external memory card is formatted as internal storage (the reason why you cant access it via twrp) , go to settings >storage and USB > select ur memory card >click on options (top right corner) >format as portable storage. Now you can access ur sd card via twrp. And check ur twrp version, 8.6.0 , and command Used to flash it via Pc "fastboot flash recovery filename.img (remove img from original file) . Hope this helps, and about Cm12, what was the error you were getting?

Used Pixel 4a 5G can't get OTA update sideloaded. Cannot read zip, can't mount system or sd card, and can't connect to pixel repair tool. Stuck on Jan

Hey All, this is a more specific thread related to this other one:
https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/comments/ufa7o3
My pixel 4a 5g is on the january update and does not find the newer update
https://www.xda-developers.com/how-to-install-android-12/
I tried all the steps here including trying to put the zip file in the adb folder, making a full path for the file, etc, but it always says:
PS C:\adb> adb sideload .\bramble-ota-sp2a.220405.003-080c4046.zip
loading: '.\bramble-ota-sp2a.220405.003-080c4046.zip'
* cannot read '.\bramble-ota-sp2a.220405.003-080c4046.zip' *
I put the zip file on the base directory of my phone and tried mounting system but got:
"E: Couldn't Access State File
Mounted System"
I tried use the "install from sd card" but it couldn't find the sd card volume (obv)
I also tried the pixel repair tool at
But it just gets stuck at " Your phone is connected. The tool is checking your phone's software version."
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this without wiping my data or if I really am stuck, how can I fix this?
SOLVED: So it seemed that my solution was that I needed to uninstall and reinstall the stock adb drivers: https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools
