ROMs for X527 - Use of ROMs for Le 2 Max possible? - LeEco Le 2 Questions & Answers

Hey folks,
My Sister just got a Le 2 X527. Problem is: Shoprom with adware being baked into the ROM.
There is this ROM by Cuoco92 which everyone praises:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-max-2/how-to/rom-cuoco92-multilanguage-debloated-t3395175
But it is made for Le 2 Max, as nearly every other ROM here.
Can it also be used for X527 (Snapdragon version)? A posting on a german website seems to indicate this, but i need to be sure before i brick her phone.
Are ROMs interchangeable between Le 2 and Le 2 Max if they are both with Snapdragon CPU?
if not, can anyone recommend a stable ROM with german language and OTA updates??
Right now her phone is unuseable. And i thought i could give the phone back tomorrow, as i am not new to ROMs etc. I just thought geting a ROM for X527 wouldnt be this difficult..
Thanks for any help, as i hope to get it done till tomorrow..

Hello!
Which version of EUI are you running now?
My x527 was deliverd with 16s (geekbuying.com) and was working fine, found an update on www.leeco.re to 19s that i installed as an update (no erasing of data before update) and it works fine also. Why is her phone unusable? Any bloatware apps i could just uninstall or disable...

Bro u can flash all the x526,520 roms not the le2 max

Thanks for your replys!
It was shipped with 16s version too if i recall right.
Rooting and manually removing adware didnt work, as the adware didnt even showed as app or system component! First time for me to see something, but it seems quite common today, that the wholesale vendors make their own kind of modded stock rom, with the adware/Spyware being "baked" into the system, untraceable and removable even with root privileges. Sounds unbelievable, but sadly true.
To the compability: So i can flash all ROMs for X52X Roms, E.g. X527, X526, X52...., right? But no Le 2 Max Rom, correct?
Yesterday i saw a unofficial lineageOS CM13 based release here, and flashed it. Great ROM, but: mobile data is a MESS. Signal weak on 4G and 3G in the middle of our quite huge city. Drops connection every few seconds. Can only be stable on 2G.
Now i am just looking for a stable, german language EUI ROM, IF possible debloated and with OTA, but not necessarily.
Like that one from Cuoco92 ROM for Le 2 Max (https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-max-2/how-to/rom-cuoco92-multilanguage-debloated-t3395175), only for the X527.
Or this BB72 ROM for Mediatek versions (https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-2/development/bb72-how-to-install-bb72-custom-rom-t3497488), only for my Snapdragon X527 version..
My questions:
1. Can anyone provide me a link to such a multi language stock EUI ROM and zip file? I am now slowly getting mad over this, after days of search. Good thing my Cancro/Mi 4 is much better supported by ROMs..
2. Can i flash a stock or modded EUI ROM with TWRP, or do i need to flash back stock recovery first?
3. How do i update the bootloader? Is it updated when i flash the stock ROM? Or can it only be updated manually?
Thanks you all in advance, any help and hint would be extremly welcomed!
Stven

Just to be clear: Any stable ROM FOR X527 would do the trick. It only needs to be fully working, no issues with mobile networks and mobile data (3G or 4G). and MULTI/GERMAN LANGUAGE..
My sister is visiting me tomorrow for fixing the Le 2, driving over more then 100 kilometers to me, and i would be extremely grateful if i would have such a ROM by then.. Otherwise i am pretty clueless.. Too bad she wanted to save the 40€ compared to le 2 Max, because then i could just take the cuoco92 ROM for Le 2 Max..
****.
God bless my cancro.

Another update:
I think i will go with the BB72 ROM for X520. Thanks again to Kr1shna55 for confirming, and i also read it on http://blog.grossoshop.net/leeco-x520-rom-grossoshop-bb72/.
So i finally figured it out.. Its been a "Difficult birth" as we say here in Germany... So thanks again for your help!
Now i just hope that LineageOS 6 / 7.1.1 will become stable in terms of 3G/4G connectivity and signal strength in the next months.. So my sister can enjoy a more stock like UI compared to this EUI "thing".
Thanks again!

Best ROM for this device

Hi All,
What's the best working ROM for this device?
Do we know why Miui 8 for this phone is only Android 5.1.1?
Does Mr.Ivan's AOSP 6.0.1 work better than Miui? Some people say yes, some say no.
I feel like I bought a phone that's gotten tossed aside by devs like a used cum rag.
Anyone running anything that's not got a thread here?

Ivan 6.0.1 is the best, just you need to deal with its Permissions problems initially and later use the Location Fix from the thread and use Open Camera or any from Gplay instead of stock one... running flawless for me, even Xposed works normally...
Ivan's 6.0.1 is great. But i have a problem with battery life and gps. But i have a good experience with smiui. But I have feiled installaing xposed framwork. I wanna try unofficial cyanogenmod 13. Any experience, anybody ?
I have the same question + some additional request
Which one support device encryption and not being rooted
I need thos two to access my company email

Smiui rom is very stable and fine. But I wanna other custom rom. Is There?

smiui contains code full of adverts and back doors. Don't use it!
you could use instead xiaomi.eu weekly rom or miuipro.ru ROM.
Any other ROMs that are not based on MIUI are very bad and not daily driver.
I love my phone so much. It's Mi Note Pro. MIUI is a good rom, EU, MI-GLOBE and Stock. But I felt like I wasn't satisfied until I tried this MOKEE.
I read many replies from all forum about MOKEE about how this rom affected their Mi Note Pros which they said it's slow, not stable and the temprature is hot. But Not until I tried and I keep this rom is installed to my mi note pro.
At first, the temprature was always hot and slow. It'a around 35c to 45c. I switched to root and installed xposed framework and greenify. The phone's temp is 28-29c at standby and around 35c when use.
The battery life is the most important thing !
I use amplify and battery saver 2017 . It's about the same life when I used MIUI, I'll say even better.
But I downloaded the rom directly from MOKEE website.
My opinion, I'll stick with MOKEE
You guys should try MOKEE
Thanks so much to MOKEE DEV

Although Miui are no longer updated but I want to say that the Miui is still the perfect choice in Mainland China, but if you are out of China, try and get some stock Android Roms such as ivan which you have mentioned. It may work smoother and better.

Installation Failure
Hi - I tried to install the zip file on my device which is currently running custom eui 5.26 (stable).
1. I went into - recovery mode,
2. Backup the current OS
3. wipe (Dalvik, cache, system and Data)
4. Install - (Zip) downloaded from the link you shared
---------------- FAILED "ERROR 7"..............................
CAN YOU PLEASE SUGGEST, How to replace custom ROM with Stock ROM.
---------------- FAILED "ERROR 7".............................. is caused because stock ROM as you called is only for chinese market . Your's is x526 , I suppose is indian version so you can't install so called stock ROM . Anyway all ROM you find are based on stock ROM , I mean the latest chinese released version . Latest release is 26 S - 05181 version , this is an OTA update from latest ROM you can see on chinese "bbs.le.com" ( 26S - 03111 version)
I understand what you are trying to say. In that case I won't mind to go back to Indian version stock ROM. The battery back was ****ing awesome. The ROM installed now drains down to 79% overnight just on WI-FI on airplane mode.
Please suggest Indian version stock ROM link of you have access to.

Ehm this airplane mode thing I have too. If you are no pilot, just don't use it and battery drain is fine. As my phone is booting up fast like a Windows 10 pc I now like to switch it off at night. And I am using lakku's updated Los 13 version
https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-2/development/rom-lineageos-13-0-t3621312
because I will not give Los 14 a chance before Leeco will maybe release nougat fur us at the end of august, if all I read wasn't fake ...
can't believe anyone wants to go back to eui because of battery drain. You could also install any lineage custom rom and install overdose kernel after it and you will be fine with battery
Dude thanks for your response.
For your update, I installed many of them:
Lineage
Resurrection remix
AOSP
Paranoid
I'm planning to try miui ROM, I need a stable ROM with better battery life. If you know one please suggest.

Mine version is EUI and I tried also many other ROMs but in my opinion the proper one is EUI because has few bugs . Also I have done some minor modifications most of them regarding build.prop . Now battery is great and ROM works smooth and fast . Remain to EUI or MIUI , man those are the best . These ROMs are tested and works awesome . You can find some fine ROMs on russian web site related , they are great developpers ... here is a link to 4PDA :

It works you have to disable tencent network in settings>app>tencent network then you need to move out of your house and open google maps once it detected your location it will work.
I already tried this, but helpless. I am now in stock 26s CN version. I have modified this rom and made it light as small eui. Working everything and very smooth
Help me to unbind leeco account
guys after flashing stock rom and when i do first start i stuck at leeco account kyunki mujhe password bhi nhi pta or reset bhi nhi ho rha phone se bta rha h system doesn't support this feature in setup wizard kya kru jaldi btao ????
When you login after flashing the ROM for the first time, try to set it up as a new device. Leeco has issues with its servers for a long time. They are actually not focusing on fixing this issue even.
So set up your device as a new one. Hope this helps.
If you have twrp, or can boot into twrp via Fastboot, use the twrp file manager to rename the apk in /system/app/letvaccount to a .zip file. Although then you'll either have to flash a custom kernel or root your rom otherwise dm-verify in stock kernel will prevent booting with a modified /system partition
---------- Post added at 06:05 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:03 PM ----------
I should have suggested this first, sometimes setting region as mainland China will resolve server issues. If this doesnt work you'll also have to connect through a Chinese proxy

Yes we have so many good devs for this beast and the one man army codeworkx also.
we have awesome developer only major roadblock is leeco itself they neither are releasing any updates nor releasing IR blaster and camera blobs.
@codeworkx is one man army and he is the only hope for lineage sources .
Yes, we have very good developer support but without camera and IR blaster fix it is not worth to switch to custom ROMs also lineage doesn't have real nougat UI instead its old marshmallow UI
Hoping to get a fully functional ROM is future.
Xlent devs and community
Owning a Le Eco Le S2, and a Pro3 I can attest that both Lineage OS and Paranoid Android are fairly stable.
Some small issues on the S2, as mentioned above. Though it was a daily driver on LOS 14.1 for about a month with only a couple crashes, both times phone would freeze while making a call, on Bluetooth, via voice prompts with Android Auto open. So it's very much an edge case.
S3 X626 compatibility
This is compatible with the one indicated S3 X626
or have a forum or open topics of which S3
I want to know about rom and pre-installed applications
example I found that the fast battery was getting hot and freezing
I saw that application (com.letv.android.personalized) had a CPU consumption of 88%
every time I start the force close application Custom Service
in this way I get it to work well
in the same way I would like to know about pre-installed applications and know which ones I can eliminate
thanks
Some of the post above are out of date. Yes, there are many options for the L2 and all of its Snapdragon variations EX: X5** Series. My kids both have the X522 and are using custom roms without any issue to speak of. Currently they are both using Lineage one is using 15.1 and the other is using Codeworks 14.1. At this time, I would recommend Codeworks version.

You seem to have dabbled with custom ROMS on this device. My question is, have you found a good/working fix for the glaring shortcomings of most custom Nougat and Oreo ROMS. I'm talking about the camera problems in N ROMS and encryption issues in Oreo ROMS. There are Pie ROMS out now but I can't pull the trigger on anything other than stock or stock-based ROMS because my phone is a daily driver.

My personal phones are X727's both using Pie as daily drivers, with te Arnova Pixel Mod Gcam.
My daughter has a X522 with Lineage 15.1 Oreo, My Son still using dotOS Oreo, both with ATT service, and is using the Arnova Pixel ported Camera - no issues as daily drivers. Stock does not compare to these new Roms. We haven't installed Pie on my kids phones yet. but it is my understanding that it is very stable.
If you try a newer Rom, Use firmware by Codeworks, and avoid the issues that so many with a X5XX seem to have with GPS, WIFI and mobile.

Flash your TWRP ( for your device) Rom of Choice, Gapps Nano, Latest Magisk, Flash Firmware

Thanks. My le 2 just arrived. I think I'll try every stable(ish) custom ROM out there and settle on one. I really haven't used any Nougat or Oreo phone so I have little to compare my Marshmallow to. Guess I'll just try them out to see the new features and if I find a stable enough one, I'll stick with it. But stability always trumps fancy features that I might use once a fortnight.

Again, I haven't tried Pie on the Le 2 yet ( we have X522's - you may not be aware that X522, X526 etc are all the same phone) I would start with Pie. IF PIE ( android 9.0) performs nearly as well on your device as it does for the Le Pro 3, it will be the one you like the most.
Pie, is stable, beautiful, has amazing battery life etc.
Enjoy

Yeah, I'm taking Stock EUI for a day's ride and thereafter try two EUI-based ROMS then I'm off to pie. There's one particular version that's very actively being developed so I'll probably land there first.

Loved the support given by the devs. They have created s o many beautiful roms. Devs are kind and always ready to help. Great support.
As the s2 gets older and older, devs are gradually abandoning it. It's Glory days are over and just a handful of devs are still making ROMs for this device and maintaining them. Also afaik, only overload kernel is the kernel still being actively developed. Development on all other kernels have seized. It's painful to see the community slowly die but that's the harsh reality.

What is the best custom/stock ROM for X522/X526?

Hello
want to buy X526 or X522...so...just want to know what is the best and most stable firmware for this phone...does not matter stock or custom. Just want it to work as it should without bugs and lags.
Please, do not answer like: "LOs 14.1 but...camera do not work well bla bla" etc. Need stable ROM with good battery life.
Thanks in advance
On my daughter phone (X626), Cuoco92 ROM work perfect.
Then use acoslim ROM which is lite and stable with good battery backup
test all roms for leeco, Eui 26s or MIUI 7.9.21 are best roms, all work perfect
All custom roms like RR, lineage os got camera issuess
Oreo roms overheating my Phone when charging, weak thetering speed
Thank you for answers guys
Hello,
ask for a link where can I find a file (.zip) for updating ROM, MIUI 7.9.21 for leeco le 2 (X625)?
Thank you.

Looking for a *stable* ROM

Hey guys!
I'm a very recent owner of Mi 9T Pro (less than 24h remaining until unlock becomes available). I'm also a recent consumer (if that's the right word for it) in the custom ROM scene. About a week ago I decided to check out LineageOS 16.0 on my old (Android 4.4.2) phone, and I was blown away by the performance improvement. It really gave my old device a second wind.
So when it comes to my new Mi 9T Pro, the long term strategy is almost certainly to install the official version of LineageOS 17.0 as soon as it becomes available (if at all and boy do I hope it does). However, since the official release might be (as I understand) several months away, it leaves me with a time window to use some other ROM until then. I've checked out LineageOS 16, 17, HavocOS 2.8, 3.0 & Pixel Experience ROM threads in this forum. It appears they all have some or other issues.
And this is where I was hoping to get a suggestion from you guys. What I'm interested in is the most stable ROM currently available for this phone. To be more clear, I'll illustrate what I mean by "stable":
1) Novelty not required.
It doesn't have to be Android 10 necessarily. Stability > novelty.
2) Most commonly used features take precedence.
I would certainly prefer a lag-less UI and no issues with signal reception over working NFC and Bluetooth audio (all 4 issues seem to appear with some regularity in mentioned threads).
Well, that's basically it, I hope you get the gist of it. If not I'll be glad to clarify further.
Just to be clear, I'm really not looking for a perfect solution where there is none. Just the least painful one. MIUI is not an option.
Thank you!
P.S. Sorry if this is a dup. I only managed to find a handful of outdated questions (~2 months old) which had very little engagement to begin with.
I use crDroid 5.8 (5.9 build does not work with global fw &vendor) and all the android 10 ROMs besides LOS 17 have broken NFC and BT .. And los 17 is also not perfect. Slows down after a while. We just have to wait till every K20 Pro / Mi 9T Pro version gets stable MIUI 11. Right now android 10 is not daily drive ready.
I'm using Résurrection Remix with the same build for over 2 month (the last one), and i dont have any bug.
I'm dtarting to have some troubleshootings after 2-3 weeks and it only require to restart to get fixed.
Also i'm not a big user of the phone so at the end of the day there is 70% battery left!

First of all, thank you for your input!
But what about Android 9 based ROMs like LOS16, Havoc-OS 2.8, Pixel Experience etc.? Wouldn't they be more stable based on the fact that Android 9 was already out (for quite some time) when K20 Pro was released? And also because the developers have simply had more time to iron out the issues?

I have basically tried every rom there is on this forum, and multiple vendors, roms later, i can suggest that EvolutionX, Pixel experience plus (pie are both pretty stable. But they have minor issues. Definitely daily driver material.
But! in my suggestion, if you could stick to a debloated MIUI. It would be hassle free.
Pros for using the stock rom.
Fingerprint sensor works faster
Doesn't break safetynet, so.. google pay support.
widevine L1 in other cases.
And most importantly, the camera functionality doesnt break

Thank you very much for your (somewhat unexpected) suggestion!
To be honest, I hadn't really considered debloating, but I will most certainly look into it. Are there some preferred debloating solutions out there?

True, MIUI has way faster and better fingerprint recognition than all custom roms. Sadly I hate MIUI look and feel...
If you want to give MIUI a try, install the xiaomi eu ROM, which is pretty clean and without much preinstalled stuff.
Best is not to use the custom ROMs with ALL the features, since those ROMs are more laggy and buggy.
So if custom ROMs, try android 9 based. I will flash android 10 again only after 2-3 builds which use MIUI 11 firmware and vendor, since I do have a global K20 Pro/ Mi 9T Pro and don't want to lose DRM L1 or NFC by flashing IN or CN fw and vendor. Because most android 10 ROMs require MIUI 10 android 10 fw and vendor (and there is no global MIUI 10 android 10 fw & vendor)
So depends after all, how much you hate MIUI.
I flashed a custom ROM because of the following things
clean stock UI
no gapps
better everyday performance

I have basically tried every rom there is on this forum, and multiple vendors, roms later, i can suggest that EvolutionX, Pixel experience plus (pie are both pretty stable. But they have minor issues. Definitely daily driver material.
But! in my suggestion, if you could stick to a debloated MIUI. It would be hassle free.
Pros for using the stock rom.
Fingerprint sensor works faster
Doesn't break safetynet, so.. google pay support.
widevine L1 in other cases.
And most importantly, the camera functionality doesnt break

So.. the simple trick is to flash chinese vendor miui 10.3.16..
Mine in an indian unit.. and flashing any vendor except the chinese one gives me some sort of error or bootloop..
So.. my process is..
1- unlock bootloader
2-flash recovery (orangefox or twrp)
3- boot into revovery
4-wipe system
5- flash vendor
6- flash rom (gapps if necessary)
7- wipe cache
8- reboot

I guess so.. and sorry brother.. i dont use telegram..
I'd suggest you stick to global vendor..
If it doesn't work, then try chinese..
Widevine is not an issue for me.. but you might stream HD content.. so.. look into it..
And i forgot to mention... Always format data before rebooting.. format data is different from wipe data.. keep that in mind..
You should stick to the process.. it should go flawlessly..
