My Moto G 2nd 2014 screen has been broken due to fall on ground. But the touch screen is working and phone is running perfectly. Only Crack on my screen digitizer so when I went to replace the screen all are saying to buy the entire assembly of screen which is cost arround INR 3000. I want to know can I buy only screen digitizer from ebay.com and install it without any problem ???
If any 1 have done before, please instruct me how to fix this ?

Are you from Odisha? There is a repairing center at bapujinagar named Ambika mobile. I think they will replace the digitizer.
Yes I am from Odisha. I searched on ek No. market as well as Saheed Nagar but they told me to change the digitizer as it comes with a assembly.
So if you are saying there is a shop which can replace only my digitizer screen then please send me the adress or contact info of the shop .

Well to start off its not that the lcd is broke but i droped my phone and it landed on some rocks, well the screens image is fine but it dented the touchscreen part, not i wanted to know if you can buy and replace just the touchscreen part or is it built in to the lcd, i did search but all i could fin where cracked lcd threads. and help would be welcome.

I have one problem,yesturday my htc tytn Ii felt down from half meter and from that time my touch screen is not working . screen is working fine but touch no ...what can i do? to open a case and see if conector is maybe disconected or ? is there need buying new lcd screen?
You can try opening it up and disconnect/reconnect the touch digitizer ribbon cable, if that doesn't work buy a new touch screen digitizer. They're fairly cheap.

Yes, there's the LCD screen, then on top the digitizer.
the digitizer costs about 15 bux on ebay, and the lcd with the digitizer costs about 50. my touchscreen stopped responding awhile back, so i had to replace it. word of advice though. the digitizer is kinda build into the lcd, and it is a huge pain (atleast 4 me) to replace it. i ended up cracking my screen doing it, and had to but the whole lcd.

Which is exactly what i ordered on thursday after my screen cracked.
Replacing JUST the digitizer is quite tricky, i don't know if any of you guys have done it (i have) and it was pretty darn tricky if youve never taken fiddley things apart beware! the digitizer glass is glued on (around the edges) to the LCD, a sharp knife around the edge (the glass WILL crack) and a careful replacedment (i had to solder the ribbon cable on) should help there is a guide somewhere where someone has documented their attempt!
so can i be sure that my problem will be solved with new lcd screen?

Can you be certain this will fix it? No. It's about 99% likely, however. I don't know about you, but I pay alot more than $35/month just for my service. I haven't done the screen on my Kaiser, but I did on my Excalibur, which my son then inherited. To be honest, the Kaiser looks easier from what I've read.
it most probably isn't a software problem, so yes buy a new LCD+digitizer and replace both.
Long time lurker, first time poster.
Today my phone leaped out of my hand and shattered its screen on impact with the ground.
I rang a local phone repair man, and he said he could replace the glass for £50. Great!
When I got home I did a quick search and found a few places where it said that this is not possible, something to do with the glass being stuck to the LCD underneath. Apparently you need to replace both the screen and the glass together.
Does anybody had any experience with this? Am I going to be stuck with a hefty repair bill?

The glass is with the digitizer wich are very hard to be separated, even impossible. But if he has some spare part from another SXL he can give you a lower price i guess. I don't think that the price is to low. Here it costs about 120 eur. So you can ask him if its a new or used one. Just to be clear. And don't forget to take your battery with you when you leave the phone. Because there is 99% chance that they swap your battery

On HTC XL it is imposible to change digitizer only .I just experience myself and ruined semi usable phone with cracked but fully working glass. Touch digitizer screen and lcd are (unlike some other models) GLUED together.!.
So sellers who sell digitizer only for 30$ are essentialy fakers, not telling you that it is imposible to change Digitizer only. But for 30$ many try and both throw that money and render phone totaly unusable. So they must buy whole LCD +TOUCH assembly that is much expensive. now about 150$ .
TIP: If you have cracked SXL - use it that way if you can (like me 30day with almost no problems) or buy whole assembly. No middle here

I saw screen digitizers on ebay can be bought for 25-50 USD, but I read somewhere that it's not possible to replace only digitizer but you need to replace the screen as well. Another problem is, I saw a video on yt where a man bought faulty digitizer for sp on ebay.... So, I don't know what to do?

send it for repairs to sony centre
Not many options really.
1) Send your phone to somewhere where they can repair it for a cost.
Or
2) Buy one off ebay and give it a go yourself! If its faulty send it back.
I replaced screen on xperia arc. If you take your time and be patient its not hard. Not sure what answers you're looking for ha
As far as I was aware, for the arc, you had to replace screen and digitizer as one assembly.
The digitizer is kind of stuck to the screen, i.e. you cant do it yourself...easily.
Today I got accident and my screen cracked a bit. But, everything function normally(touch, LCD or screen). So the question: do I need replace screen digitizer(touchscreen) only or must replace both LCD&touchscreen?
I read somewhere, must replace touchscreen+lcd but in my case it is only cracked screen, LCD working fine.
Glass and LCD are glued together and those are also glued into frame. It's possible to replace screen by purchasing glass + lcd as 1 unit but this means you have to pry the old glass from the phone's frame.
What I did was I just bought frame + lcd + glass as 1 unit form Ebay. It's much easier and risk that you'll break something is much lower.

Today my Nexus 5X screen has cracked. However the touch responses and the colours are still great. Just the front screen cracked.
