Fixed it, i had to install a new version of WebView from apkmirrors.com after that i rebooted and the app would stop crashing. I came up with this solution because i looked the logcat through and saw some exceptions with the webview when i tried to add a google account. If you have related errors i advise you to look through the logcat.

Thanks a lot dude, after 5 hours in internet research, your post finally saved my situation. Thanks again

Thanks for sharing the solution dude.

Fix for market.android.com not working

Did some research and found a fix for the Nexus One (mine at least) where the online market shows that an app has been downloaded and installed, but never shows up on the phone. Does not require a data wipe:
1) go to settings>applications>manage applications>all>google services framework>clear data
2) same settings>applications>manage applications>all>market>clear cache and force close
3) go to Titanium Backup and filter by "All" and Apply. Scroll to Market, click on it and select Wipe Data.
4) Reboot phone
5) Open and sign out of GTalk, then re-open and sign in.
6) Open Market and accept agreement. Let it load your apps. Close Market.
7) Go to market.android.com and sign in. Go to My Market Account>Settings tab>Edit>Nickname your phone and click Update.
8) Download an app. My downloads now start almost immediately.
Done!
Thanks man

You are welcome, glad it's working well for everyone.
Worked like a charm!
Great work and thanks! Worked perfectly. Apps instantly go to phone now.
Just another success story here. Thanks!
I am wondering if someone could explain the first step, clearing the Google Services Framework? Why is that needed in addition to all the market steps?

I believe that it's because it mimmicks a factory reset/data wipe in the google framework cache without actually wiping your phone (which was Google's answer to the issue) and allows the other services to re-connect cleanly. The google services framework handles google account & login information for google apps I think. Also, it won't work with just the market steps alone.

[Help Center] How to get rid of (android.process.acore)

This small tutorial is to get rid of the error android.process.acore which comes again and again on screen and bothers alot!!
For the People who are encountering this error just follow the below steps.
This error usually occurs because you might have forgot to WIPE when installing a NEW ROM. So to avoid that always wipe when the ROM provider has stated so.
There are also other causes which result this error. So try the following methods:
1. Try uninstalling Facebook if that is installed. If this does not fix your problem then try the following.
Do you have your contacts backed up?
2. Settings>Applications>System Applications>Contacts Sync Adapter and press Clear Data, this error usually goes away. If this doesn't work, try clearing the data on Settings>Applications>System Applications>Contacts or Settings>Applications>System Applications>Contacts Storage.
If problem is fixed, then restore contacts and reinstall Facebook and make sure you don't sync contacts with it.
3. Third and Final solution for me which I really dont like but has worked with me
Boot into Recovery than
1. WIPE DATA
2. WIPE CACHE PARTITION
3. MOUNTS & STORAGE > FORMAT SYSTEM
4.FLASH THE ROM
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. HAS WORKED FOR ME..... PEACE!!

This reminds me that I recently noticed that "Contact Groups" were not properly sync'ed between Google Contacts and the Contacts on my phone. I went into Contacts on my phone and checked "Sync Data". Is that supposed to stay unchecked?
Of course, the Contacts app crashes before I can un-check the box, so I don't know how to fix that now.
See the problems I'm having at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2267528

Clearing Data for Contact storage worked for me, thanks!
Third step seems to have woked
I did the first 2 with not results the third seems to have worked. My samsung VZW i800 is working quite well now thank you. I have CM11.0 terrenceng... granted I still get the error "unfortunately gmail has stopped" and I'm working on that issue. In the meantime I'm using the email app to handle my Gmail. Thanks again.
I tried deleting Facebook, which worked for several days, but now the Acore Error back with a vengeance !!! I do not have the same hierarchy as listed below, so I cannot use the Method #2. I've already tried Method #3, but obviously that did not work. Oh well ..... so much for upgrading to Buggy KitKat ....
At least I'm getting a new phone tomorrow .... Hopefully it will be more stable, and if I'm lucky might even have JellyBean!!! I had NO problems with JellyBean for over three months. Big mistake upgrading to KitKat 4.4.2.

anyone using this room with skype experienced any problem?
using the latest skype, when try signing out, system will show "android.process.acore" after click ok, message pops up right away. Reboot won't help either. Only way getting rid of message is to clear the contact storage.
Fix the android.process.acore
I had this problem after removing a Google account from my phone that did contacts sync. During the removal, my phone crashed (nice job guys) and it clearly corrupted something..
I DID NOT NEED TO RESET MY PHONE TO FACTORY SETTINGS OR RE-FLASH ANY FIRMWARE, ETC
IMPORTANT: PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING PROCESS WILL DELETE ALL LOCALLY STORED CONTACTS FROM YOUR PHONE. BUT DON'T WORRY, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO RESTORE ANY CONTACTS THAT YOU REMOTELY SYNCED WITH AN ACCOUNT (SUCH AS A GOOGLE ACCOUNT).
I fixed my phone by going to:
1. Setting > Application Manager
2. Slide over to the "ALL" tab
3. Select the "Contacts Storage" application
4. Click the "Turn Off" button
5. Click the "Force Stop" button
6. Click the "Clear Cache" button
7. Click the "Clear Data" button
8. Uncheck the "Show Notifications" option
9. Click the "Turn On" button
This should immediately resolve your issue.
IF YOU PREVIOUSLY DISABLED CONTACTS SYNCING FOR ANY OF YOUR "ACCOUNTS", YOU SHOULD RE-ENABLE IT NOW TO GET YOUR CONTACTS BACK ON YOUR PHONE.
If you're using the Facebook app (com.facebook.katana) , especially the "dev" version, try freezing/disabling, then clearing data and cache in it, seems FB doesn't do much contacts sanitizing....

The best way to resolve this issue is
- Turn Off Sync
- Remove Your Google account account from your device
-Add your google account again
-Turn on sync
BOOM you are done now
U ROCK!!!
the second solution which is clearing the ''contacts storage'' data fixed it but the problem occurred when i uninstalled facebook actually it happened to me on my other phone ( ''Galaxy Note II'' to be exact ) just by logging out of my account in the facebook app so i had to factory reset the phone
i wonder why ? all my devices have official roms with no root
anyway thanks
I get this problem "Unforunately,android.process.acore has stopped".
I have stock rom. I have Xposed framework installed,is that the source of the problem?
Thanx in advance for helping me.
My device:Samsung Galaxy S Duos2
I used to get that error message many times. With my first Note 3, it finally got so bad that I could not use my Note 3 anymore. Samsung sent me a replacement Note 3, which I still have. I started getting that error again on my second Note 3. Had to do a Factory Reset, which seemed to fix the issue. However, now I'm getting a new error message that just started when I upgraded to Lollipop 5.0 >>> Touch Wiz suddenly quits. After about 15-20 seconds starts up again.
Hey all! If none of the above solutions are working for you (like in my case), then please try this solution I found that worked for me:
1. Uninstall the app that is causing the popups (this could be Facebook, OneNote, WhatsApp, Skype, etc...).
2. Disable Goolge+.
3. Reinstall app that was causing the popups (sign in, get it going).
4. Re-enable Google+ (I actually haven't cause I don't use it, but that's up to you).
It looks like 5.1 fix this, so hang in there!
I just got the Lollipop 5.0 Update for my Note 3 about a week ago. So far, seems to be running ok. I have a list of 11 issues with Lollipop, one which a Samsung Tech Support lady helped me fix (after many calls to tech support, with no help). Another issue I discovered the solution by myself (by accident), and one more issue I found the answer online after reading many articles, and watching many videos.
I have not seen this issue "android.process.acore" with the Lollipop 5.0 Update. Hoping to get another update to fix the remaining issues (Screenshot, Battery Drain, WiFi, RAM, Bluetooth, TouchWiz).

Yea, I tried everything else in this forum and on the web> Facebook uninstall, stop all contacts, calendar, google play related apps and clear data, delete google account, etc...
Have now cleared and uninstalled Skype, Airdroid, and mightytext since it seems to be a Google Contacts syncing issue. This still hasn\t helped. Will keep you all posted if I find the culprit.

issues with this HTC Desire since I rooted it. Could use any help!

Hello, my name is Rob and I'm new to XDA but I've used your forums before to help me root my Coolpad and this new phone (kudos)
So I bought this phone a little over a month ago and I've been super severely disappointed in it.
I'll just start off quickly by telling you a little behind my purchase...
I needed to upgrade from the Coolpad 3G that I had been using for months with Sprint's pre-paid and I was planning on getting a Samsung Galaxy.
Well they had to run my credit and I couldn't put down the $200+ deposit they wanted for the S5. So the guy brought up this HTC Desire that was on sale for $99.99 or whatever, without and research or anything I went ahead and bought it because I desperately needed a new phone with 4G capability for my new job... the sales guy sold me on it having 8 GB internal storage (Which was a huge lie... thanks, man), 1 GB of RAM, a solid quadcore processor and a decent camera.
I immediately got home and realized that there was only barely 1 Gigabyte of free storage and I about threw a fit but I knew I needed the phone so I kept it and I took the next step, (Rooting it so I could install and run link2SD)
So I went through the long, tedious process of rooting my phone and putting TWRP, superuser, etc. on it and got my link2SD going.
The day after I finished rooting my phone these errors started popping up and telling me that I had an update I needed to install and download:
(I guess I can't post the pictures I want to post on here until I make 10 posts? so I uploaded screencaps all to this directory)
http :// skakills.com /HTC/
It made it so I can't even use my Gmail or my hangouts app on the phone (Gmail being the most important) this is seriously distressing.
also , this update pops up every few hours and I have tried to install it but it just bounces me back to the recovery TWRP screen and I can't seem to figure it out.
I work a double shift at work every day, I play in 2 bands and I've scoured the internet, forums and lost tons of sleep over this, I just want to be able to use this phone for a few more months without these issues, if anyone has any kind of idea what I can do to fix the errors and get my updates installed or if there is a better option (I'm okay with wiping / resetting since my apps and pictures are all backed up) let me know ASAP, please and thank you very much!

Download an app killer/disabler of your choice (I use Titanium Backup but it's the paid version) after you install it look through all the apps on your phone and find this one "updater" and freeze/disable it and then reboot the updating will stop and the reason you can't install it is because the phone is no longer stock and you unlocked the bootloader.
Regarding the play store problem open internet and search for the latest version of play store and then download the version via internet by searching for the version to download like this Google Play version 5.8.8 APK Download and after downloading the APK install it and reboot into twrp and clear the dalvic cache and cache reboot and the problem should be gone.

I really appreciate the help as far as that update thing goes.
I guess I didn't explain the part with the GMail and the hangout apps.. it is only those apps that are affected, I guess I will try uninstalling the gmail and hangout apps again because I try to launch them but it gives the "Unknown issue with Google Play Services" error and then force closes.
Also every once in a while it is giving me a weird 'Google Music' error .
I will try to freeze that update thing with Titanium backup (I have the full version I got on my old phone I just haven't installed it on here yet)
Once again, thanks a lot I really appreciate the quick response and I hope to check more of the forums out soon.

Okay so I froze the 'Updater' app, rebooted and I think that it has stopped which is good.
I still am getting this Google Play Services Error every few minutes, I downloaded the Google Play .apk , installed it, rebooted into recovery and cleared the dalv and regular cache but I'm still seeing this error come up... I even tried to disable Google Play Services notifications and just accept that it won't ever go away but it is still happening. I'm still not sure of the actual cause of these errors, at least I can use GMail and Hangouts now because I just restored the factory versions.

Yes there is a site but no entire Google apps package is an apk it's in zip format and all you need to do is download it to your sd card and then boot into recovery and tap install then navigate to wherever you saved the download to and tap to select it for installation and after the install go back to the home page and select wipe and then on the next window select dalvic and cache then swipe the bottom to wipe them both and then reboot and you should be good to go.. Here's the package
In this package you will find the core Google system base, off-line speech files, Google Play Store, FaceUnlock, Google Bookmarks Sync, and the following Play Store applications:
Google + | Google Calendar (replaces stock/AOSP Calendar) | Google Now Launcher | Google Play services | Google Search | Google Text-to-Speech | Gmail | Hangouts | Maps | Street View on Google Maps | YouTube

What rom and kernel do you happen to be using? Try this too though tap settings then apps and look for the Play Store and tap into it and then force close it and then scroll down and delete the data and when it says all user accounts will be deleted or whatever just say yes and then go back to your home and reopen the Play Store and try to use it again after it logs your account back in.
Edit: Do you see Google play services in your app list? Uninstall the update if it says to uninstall update on it and then update it again then try to use stuff.

I feel like maybe something got screwed up when I was rooting and using this custom kernel, I wouldn't mind wiping this phone and trying again from the start but going through the backup and restoring process will be a pain. Everything is painful, lol. I just want to be able to use my apps like normal

You should try pattiboi new kernel that he put up yesterday because it's pretty smooth running and my phone is much better than it was before.. Did you uninstall updates to the Play services and try to update it again?
Edit:
Do you have titanium backup? If so I need you to download this version of Google play services and install it but first use titanium backup to fully uninstall the Google play services that's on your phone.. Here's the link for the Google play services version 8.1.15 make sure you don't tap the one that says get it on Google play store because obviously you can't use the Play Store so tap the one next to it, it looks like this "d Download" after you downloaded it install it and reboot your phone...

yes I have Titanium backup. I'll try this new kernel, yeah I tried to uninstall updates for Play services but there wasn't even an option for it.
I'll download this and run that in titanium before installing

You should try fixing your problem before going to the other kernel.
All you need to do is delete Google play services in Titanium Backup and then download the one I gave you and install and then reboot.

Can't log out of google account

I setup a fire tablet for a friend by rooting it, and adding google play. Tested the system, and various apps by logging into my personal google account via play. Everything works great, except that I can't figure out a way to log out of my google account on the device before giving it back to my friend.
The issue seems to be that the amazon system doesn't have an "accounts" or "accounts & sync" settings menu like most android devices, where you can remove/delete accounts.
I was able to change my google password, and then wipe the data from the various apps to prevent the device from syncing any further but the issue is that my account is still listed in play/gmail/etc, and there is a 'sign in' notification that won't go away.
Anyone have any thoughts on a work around to fully remove my google account from the device?
Would clearing data for the Google Play services apps do it?
Do you have a google settings app, looks like a cog?
If so, sign in and security, devices and notifications, loads a web page, on recently used devices click review devices, select the Fire, Press remove?
Come to think of it I think you can load the web page on pc if don't have the app, try logging in at
https://myaccount.google.com/u/1/security#activity
On the left select - Device activity & notifications, scroll down and select review devices, select the Fire and press Remove.
Looks like it should do the trick.

I did this as well. It effectively does the same thing as changing your google password. It does not remove the account from the device. It still shows up in all the google programs, and prompts a permanent notification that the account requires attention. I think this process is intended to prompt a device to re-sign in to google without changing the password itself.

I think your original post prior to edit, stating that a factory reset is the easiest method, might be the way to go.
Appreciate the help guys! :good:
I setup one for my Mother-In-Law this weekend and I was able to add an new account and then remove the old one. I think gapps require an account to function so there has to be an account but once a second is added the first can be removed.

Do you remember how you removed the 2nd account? I have 2 accounts on the device, yet still can't find an option to remove one other than a link to "manage accounts" which then takes me to the main amazon settings menu which has no account management for google.

Yes it did. All of the apps that I looks at only showed the current account. It didn't remove any apps but the user was no longer associated with them.

I am on CM12.1 so I don't know if that makes a difference but I went to Settings > Accounts > Google > Click On Account to Remove > Under Settings toggle Select Remove Account

I mean, does the deleted account even exist anymore? Can you access it from other devices/PC? I remember a big warning when I was thinking of doing this that everything would be deleted: Gmail, contacts, app history, google drive files, etc. Thanks.

If you are on the stock rom like the OP you can't access the menu pjs mentions, the one you can get to via "google settings", "account preferences", "delete your account or services" would do what you fear above.

Ah, CM12.1 is how you are able to do it. I'm still on the stock Amazon rom with Nova launcher.

OK, it sounds like my original post was correct for rooted stock so I'll try to reconstruct it, if not for you, then for others who might need it.
There's no simple way to remove a google account. Basically, you have to delete gapps, either manually or by factory reset, and reinstall.
(EDIT: Reinstalling over current Gapps - Didn't think to mention this as an option because when I installed new Gapps over old I had major problems with google apps crashing and had to factory reset anyway. That was over a year ago with earlier Gapps version, though. Maybe it could magically work now?)
Factory Reset: I think this is easiest. Do the reset and then install Gapps again. Your apps and data will be deleted, but root survives. If you flashed the SuperSU zip, the app installed to /system so you won't have to reinstall it. Same with your launcher if you moved that to /system. (If you didn't flash SuperSU zip, you'll need to reinstall the app after resetting.)
Disable your launcher and enable the Fire launcher before resetting. The state of system apps disabled/enabled with the "adb shell pm" command doesn't change with the reset. (I've confirmed this several times with gatesjunior's Debloater tool. Still, I always keep wifi off during a reset and disable OTA again afterwards.)
Manually: You must uninstall (at least) play store, play services, gmail, google accounts and google setup. Use Titanium Backup to search for all things "google" and see if there's anything else that sounds account-related. Make a list of what you're getting rid of, back them up and uninstall. Then get new apks from some place like apkMirror.
This worked perfect:

Use Titanium Backup to search for all things "google" and see if there's anything else that sounds account-related. Make a list of what you're getting rid of, back them up and uninstall. I then re-ran the Amazon-Fire-5th-Gen-SuperTool and option 2 and the account is now gone.

How do I re-install gapps? I don't want to factory reset as this is my mother's tablet, and manually uninstalling requires root.

Not sure. I wrote this for rooted stock. Guess it depends on how you installed it and whether or not you can get to any core components. Maybe someone else will have an idea.

Youtube and FB Messenger not working or crashing

If I recall correctly, everything started after an update for Facebook Messenger. First only chat heads worked and if I opened the app itself it would just crash. In the beginning I could open the app after reinstalling it and at least login to my account so chat head would work, and now I can't even open the app as it just crashes a few seconds after I open it.
Youtube at first didn't want to play videos - I could open the app but if I tried to open a video it would just crash. Now I can't even open the app, when I press on the icon nothing happens.
I tried wiping data and cache for the apps in the settings, I tried reinstalling the apps and I tried wiping Dalvik and cache in recovery - nothing helped.
I am running 7.1.1. and OOS 4.1.3. rooted with Magisk.
Any help would be appreciated.
