I am new to Zui.
I look everywhere but didn't find a way to control (permit or deny) internet access to each individual app, like it's possible with CM13/14 or MIUI.
It's possible to define access to Wifi and/or Cellular separately?
There is a way? If yes where is that option?
I have a Zuk Z2 with Zui 2.3 CN ST.
If Zui 2.3 doesn't have does Zui 2.5?

Yes there is.
Go to settings / Cellular networks / Data usage and go to 'Restricted apps'.
There you can allow or deny mobile date and wifi.

My network operator has high costs, except if you use their web proxy to surf.
So I need a way to blacklist all applications except the web browser, when I'm connected through 3g data.

By the sound of it Droid Wall is what you are after, it requires a rooted phone but then gives you complete control over what apps can access the internet

I'm assuming you mean afwall+, and you've configured those apps not to be allowed to agrees the internet yet somehow they do?
I use afwall myself since the days of my old note 2 and never had issues, but look into the following solutions, maybe they'll help :
A vpn style firewall, there's one listed in the xda labs app
Enable afwall xposed add-on, reboot, go to its settings and tick the fix download manager leak option
In afwall settings, your can enable the vpn control, then restrict those apps to vpn access only, maybe it'll help.
Can't think of any other options atm, i hope this helps you.

bro i installed that app ... it has internet block option but i think blocking them will be applied in wifi & data both ?
i mean if i restrict all apps so apps will also not work with wifi as they dont have differentiation ?

So back -for sure for me- to the opening question: PMP is good for the phone (and the "my" that's in the phone)? Is flexible enough to fully control all the little happy apps running around in the phone...?

i checked Xprivacy & you can do nothing with ANDROID OS or ANDROID SYSTEM

i m using Resurrection remix ROm on moto x play with below apps,
root
xposed
afwall plus
droid wall
LightningWall (xposed mod to restrict data)
Restrict background data - enabled in settings
but all is fail as android os & other system apps using data as leak !
researched a lot & couldnt find solution !!

For the data leakages the answer in post #2 by @ticktock666 is the way to go.
But for that to work in a proper mode: check that afwall+ has all the rights from the start (the veryvery start)...
Also afwall+ gives the users a pretty fine granularity when it comes to the rules.

i dont know may be data is leaking due to kernal issue or rom has some problem
but i m just unable to stop android OS from leaking data ~!

I don't see any screenshot.... What I use is Xprivacy Pro because it can restrict any Android permissions, and it lets you know what permissions were used, and when. It can be used to show application usage data, and parameters used by data. However pro version of Xprivacy is required for those features. I would really recommend it, but I know it's a lot to take in at first. If you don't know much about Androids, and how they work, then it's probably not for you. There are detailed instructions on how to use it properly.

These are some settings that I fail to clearly understand so I thought no better place to find the right answers to them than XDA Developers where most android geeks are
1) The first question is exclusive to Huawei, it lies in (Settings - More - Link+ live update) ... What does this really do?
2) Second question is obviously present in any Android phone on Nougat, it's actually those settings in (Apps - Settings - Advanced - Special access) I can't quite understand some of them specially:
Ignore battery optimization, what should I expect if I set all apps not to ignore battery optimizations?
Do not disturb access, what would this add to an app like the Google App for example if I give it this access?
Draw over other apps, what's the difference between this and the Dropzone management setting in Huawei's built in Phone Manager app?
Write system settings, what's that??!
Unrestricted data access, if I turn that on from Mobile data settings I believe the amount of data usage for an app not given the restricted data access would be restricted to some level but my question is to what extent? And I also noticed that Google Play Services is unrestricted by default ... What would go wrong if I restrict it?
Usage access, what does it mean and what's the difference between this and Notification access?

This how you enable the Mobile Data Toggle, it's available but hidden follow these steps and you'll be good to go.
I'm considering upgrading my S10+ to the S21 Ultra. Before I do I need to know if editing the APN settings will work the same, or are there other factors I need to be aware of.
Hotspotting is my primary way of connecting to the net, and has been for the past 10+ years. If I can't continue to connect in this way with the Ultra, what phones will work?
Yes I'm aware of PDAnet, it will not work for my use scenario. I must hotspot through the phone natively. I use in the range of 60 - 100gb each month. I'm on a grandfathered true unlimited plan.
Screen shots of the APN settings would be greatly appreciated, if applicable.
You can go directly to the hotspotting app if you know what you're doing.

I can't tell if you are asking if hotspot works as intended on a stock sprint/tmobile phone? Like paying for the hotspot feature?
It's unclear what your grandfathered plan provides. Does that include unlimited hot spot?
Or are you asking if you can manually configure the APN to override how hotspot works, so you can use it without paying for the hotspot feature, assuming it's not included in your plan?
Are you just asking if you can edit the APN settings at all?
There is just too much uncertainty about what you are asking.

I do not have hotspot on my plan.
In order to use hotspot currently, a new APN entry is created adding "dun“ to a field, allowing hotspot to be activated without having a plan.

All I will tell you is that you need to use some shortcut app that'll punch you through straight to the hotspotting app. This way, the carrier check is avoided.
Also, you MAY need to use a VPN because desktop traffic can become obvious.
An alternative is to VPN/tunnel into your home computer via Wireguard or some other software like ZeroTier or Tailscale.

I'm going to try to be vague with this reply. You're saying a MAKER of shortcut app will be needed to get into the functionality of LTE.
Wouldn't the ##data# menu work also? That's what I do now. And by doing so it doesn't show as tethered data used when I check my usage.
You just need to find a way to open the hotspot app directly.

I can already toggle the HS app natively.
I'm not sure we are on the same page.
So I guess getting any help or answers is pointless?
FYI: On Android 12 for Samsung you can add a new APN under Access Point Names without jumping thru hoops. Just tap on add new APN (make sure to copy everything from original APN) and add dun to the apn type field. Save the update and now you have free Hotspot (data counts against your main data bucket).
What about those who already have a restricted hotspot in their plan (high speed hotspot for first 500 MB, then switches to super-slow mode until reset the next billing cycle)?
Would adding a new APN result in unlimited hotspot? I can't tell if those with limited hotspot already enabled, would see any benefit to adding a new APN, or if it would even work?
