Regarding the Custom ROM dual SIM capabilities and VoLTE support. - Honor 4x Questions & Answers

I noticed that there are a lot of custom ROM's for installation on huawei honor 4x. I would like to know if the custom ROM's support dual SIM or single SIM after installation.
I have noticed that some ROM's do not support dual SIM stand by function. Request you enlighten me on this.
Also let me know if VoLTE support is available for the stock android marshmallow update. Till now have not received any update on VoLTE support for honor 4X.

Most custom roms will support dual sim.. but there is no volte support in any rom or officially

Thank you bro. I will try it

As it is not part of AOSP then most likely not. LTE is purely a data only connection for most of the world so you will be hard pressed to find one that does support it.
There have been other threads on the topic. This isn't something a custom ROM can solve. The problem with the N6 is that neither the US nor the international versions have band 40, which I believe is needed for VoLTE in India due to bandwidth. Otherwise, Jio would have labeled the N6 as VoLTE compatible.
If you want VoLTE and live in India, the N6 is very likely not the device for you.
The pure Nexus project 7.1.2 and S.i.x oreo rom have VOLTE and otg support and also are pretty stable.

I have tried the custom ROMs Pixel-experience, Nitrogen, crDroid. None of the custom ROM would enable VOLTE for JIO network. Just an FYI for ppl looking for this.

Yes, the devs have given up getting the IMS to work on Pie. IMS is needed for VoLTE and WiFi-calling. So those two things will probably never work on any Pie-rom.
Try aquari os

Hey @Rauldcool Thanks for your suggestion & support. I have tried Aquarios ROM. It has the option to enable VOLTE Provisioned flag in Mobile Network settings, but unfortunately, Jio VOLTE doesn't work.

Dual Sim Active Dual Volte Santoni

Hi Guys,
I need to use two Jio sims in my device. Both active simultaneously. Does anybody know how to achieve this?
Right now, even if you keep both sims enabled, only one of them is, technically, active. The other one comes as switched off and vice versa.
Currently, I use RR Nougat (version 5.8.5) with Magisk. No custom kernel.
I don't know whether this is a hardware limitation in Santoni or this can be solved by a newer Android version based ROM or maybe by some other method.
Please guide. TIA.
P.S.: For guys, who might be unaware of Jio, Jio network utilises VoLTE for communication over its network. It's an only 4G network.

No It doesn't support 2 4g sims. When u r using two sims, It only supports one 4g sim at a time other goes to 2g.
So is this a hardware limitation?
I read some manufacturers like Samsung are enabling this via OTA update...
Can this be resolved somehow by any other ROM?

Volte for unsupported carrier

I am planning to go for root but not sure if all custom roms supports volte by default for any carrier or because it's aosp it will still be the same issue as stock where volte doesn't work no matter what.
If your carrier doesn't support Volte then installing a custom rom for that purpose isn't going to help you. If your carrier supported it would be enabled by default through aosp. If your carrier supports it and it isn't working for you then there might be other options though.

Which custom ROM will support VoLTE?

Hello. I need a custom ROM for my SM-N920I since VoLTE functionality is simply not built in to this version, it appears. It wasn't a problem until 3G was shut off. So now I must have VoLTE to use it. Please recommend a custom ROM I can flash that allows for VoLTE support. Thank you.
