[Q&A] Splash screen changed after unlocking bootloader - Xiaomi Mi 5 Questions & Answers

Hi guys, recently I try to unlock the bootloader of my Mi 5 and everything it's OK but the splash screen shows a message of the bootloader. I try to change it by flashing the stock splash.img but when I reboot has the same splash screen. I'm on MIUI 8 7.1.19 Global Dev. How I can change it or any solution for this? Thanks

That's Android Nougat's function
The red lock is there to show that your bootloader is unlocked
It wont hamper the functionality of MI5 or MIUI. Nothing to worry about
If you lock your bootloader again, I think the red lock should go

Flashing another rom will do. Once I flashed Lineage OS that unlocked bootloader message was vanished.

Xiaomi Mi 5X - OXYGEN - Black screen after flash (have sound) - Locked bootloader

Bootloader = Oxygen
Bootloader = locked
USB Debug = off
Display = Black without panel light
Because of the screen can't enter the menu to unlock bootloader or install TWRP
Problem:
The phone worked before i flashed a firmware with Test Point method to remove a forgotten password. So, i flashed this firmware from http://en.miui.com/thread-844022-1-1.html and followed all the steps by removing the emmc_appsboot.mbn from the firmware with one from the MI Max 2. The problem is that after turn on the phone, i don't see anything, even the display panel has no light, is blank black, but if i wait few minutes after flashing, the phone boot in the setup menu and i hear the sounds. I can hear the sounds when charging and when phone boots up. Keep in mind that before flashing the rom when i tried to enter in fastboot or stock recovery, i didn't saw the fastboot logo or recovery menu. So, is there something wrong? Is there a file in the firmware that needs to be replaced with another one? A display firmware/driver missing? Can somebody upload a firmware for Oxygen bootloader and will all the instructions? Or is there any solution to unlock bootloader to install Twrp with a custom firmware? Any help is appreciated.
Dou you do this?
5. Run "writeselparts" application in "unbrick" folder and wait... This'll flash emmc_appsboot.mbn from Mi Max 2. When succeed, you'll get this message:...
I follow the same http://en.miui.com/thread-844022-1-1.html and everything is ok.
Hi, thanks for reply. Yes i did that. The phone boots up, i have sound but screen is black.
Any solutions?? i'm in the same situation..

Hey, which ROM were you using before the issue? Did your phone came with the oxygen bootloader, or you flashed it accidentally?
Hi guys! Who have official firmware for Mi 5X Oxygen? Maybe after flash official developer version screen will back?

That’s exactly what I was thinking (sort of). But instead of using their oxygen modified rom, I was hoping to find someone with a oxygen bootloader to do a entire partition backup (not just the ones that twrp allows) so I can inspect each one and check what else they changed to make it work. I still think that they change other partitions than the bootloader (emmc_appsboor)

Solution is: backup all your data with adb and scrcpy (hope you left adb enabled), then flash the latest China stable with MI flash. At that point flash latest xiaomi.eu stable

MI A2 Black screen

Hi guys!
May I know if anybody here experienced black screen ? Screen has no image to display. Backlight is working, Led light is working when charging, fingerprint vibrates as well when A2 is turned on. I have tried replacing LCD display but black screen persists. What do you think is the problem?
Sent from my Mi 9 SE using Tapatalk
I have the same problem!!!! I try flash rom again but it persists
Yesterday it happened to me also.
The phone is working, the touch is working, but the lcd is black.
I even managed to recieve a call. Tried to restart the phone but its still black screen with working touch.
I can't find any solution...
Anybody found a solution??
My MI A2 is in black screen after updated to Wayne V11.0.6.0.PDCCNXM 20200509.
Tried to flash again, the screen didn't even turned on anymore, then used an UNBRICK WAYNE XIAOMI MI6X and it's back to black screen, been like this for 4 days now, should I start looking for a new phone? :crying:
Serial number: 23e3c4ee
Codename: wayne
Bootloader: locked
Anti version: 4
ROM: Wayne V11.0.6.0.PDCCNXM 20200509.
When I flash the ROM again, takes 100, 200 seconds only, and didn't change anything.

stop stressing . you have ARB4 so just flash a custom rom ...or flash only the LASTEST STOCK ROM ...you didn't listen and tried to flash another think ...so your phone went to hardbrick edl mode
your phone is fine it is just in a timeout edl mode
the only way to fully rescue it is by physically forcing testpoint then flashing LATEST FASTBOOT STOCK ...this time listen or stay on black screen

Already did it and gets worse, if I flash the latest fastboot Stock ROM really becomes a brick, to de point of not even the screen turns on and stay on edl mode forever.

because you are trying to downgrade
what you need to do is flash the LATEST chinese fastboot stock rom of Wayne or it will never work
you need to flash it with edl and miflash ( LATEST BETA)
you keep on thinking you can flash any stock rom but you can't ......
if you try to flash any stock rom older than the last stock rom you flashed it will never boot and keep going back to edl blackscreen
if you DON'T open your phonr and short the test point miflash will timeout or give errors and device wont boot
open your phone with screwdriver and flash the VERY latest chinese fastboot rom with latest miflash beta

What a heck are you talking about?
Already did everything with Mi flash, forced edl mode by point test, saw like 300 tutorials, for Mi A2, Mi 6x.
What I needed was a verified Mi account to unlock and flash with no problems

I already did, tried all the tutorials from 2018 to last month. The phone bootloader is locked and for some reason I can't unlock it, tried a dozen of different approaches, recovery's, flashings, ADB and everything.
Always ends in two ways, black screen with back light on (some sounds work and keeps in the lock login screen) or dead stuck in permanent EDL mode.
My phone still not working. Maybe its because of the busted display IC.

Question My device is stuck on fastboot screen with a locked bootloader

After successfully installing MIUI EU and using it just fine, I then attempted to lock the bootloader as the phone is going back tomorrow for a screen repair. Upon using the command fastboot oem lock in fastboot mode, the bootloader was locked, but I am now in a bootloop returning me to the fastboot screen no matter what I try. WIth my bootloader locked adb does nothing and same with most fastboot commands. Whenever I try to reboot my device regularly or while using any combination of volume buttons, it shows the MIUI boot screen then straight back to fastboot and repeat.
Any help appreciated, thanks.

Strange idea to want lock bootloader for repair a screen. Even if you must send to Xiaomi warrantly center / agreed shop, unlock bootloader do not cancel the warrantly. Only desimlock is forbidden.
You must lock your bootloader only from your native official/legit ROM (EEA or Global or CN, etc), but never from a custom MIUI or AOSP because these roms have need to have bootloader unlocked for working.
For now you must
1- using Mi Unlock and Unlock again your device, like the first time (from waiting unlock period) but you will lose all your data, data partition (internal) is wiped.
2- using MiFlash for flash the lastest MIUI fastboot legit rom from your device (EEA ? Global ? CN ?) and be careful , by default (on the bottom right) app install / erase and lock bootloader, choose install / no lock.
I managed to fix it by using Mi Unlock with my sim in another phone for verification, I was just worried I would be faced with the wait again. Thanks.

No problem, as soon as you have unlock with success your bootloader the first time, you do not have period unlock anymore

No way to know what parts are missing. You can reflash your current ROM or the original ROM via fastboot.
Can you enter fastboot mode?

If your bootloader was unlocked you can recover the device via fastboot.
If not you have the same situation as described here:
Redmi Note 10 pro stuck on Mi logo loop after update
I tried wiping my data, but no success. I tried mi flash tool but no scucces. My bootloader is lock. I can boot into fastboot and recovery mode only. Safe mode also loop into logo only. can anyone tell how i can flash stable rom.

Interesting to see that several people are reporting bootloop after upgrading to MIUI 14.
My advice to anyone is to unlock the bootloader before upgrading to MIUI 14 to avoid having a brick, which you can't recover by your own by just flashing.

Thank you.
But could you please explain what you mean with "waiting"?
I assume that you mean the seven days until Xiaomi grants you the possibility to unlock the bootloader, right?

I agree with regards to this device.
But usually it is not a problem.
With regards to this device I see from two other people that they are facing a bootloop when updating to MIUI 14.
I also did the update and my device ended up in a bootloop.
But I had unlocked the bootloader in advance and could recover the device by flashing.

Hi
Greetings, I am facing the same problem, after upgrade to miui14 the phone is in bootloop,
Explanation
1) The phone starts and enters menu(reboot, wipe data, connect with MI assistant, safe mode)
2) If i click reboot, it will reboot and reach to welcome screen and then it will ask me to activate the phone
Thats it
Then it restarts automatically
This process repeats untill battery drain
The phone is not unlocked

That is actually very easy. There is a tool. Mi_Unlock-en-5.5.224.24. you will need to- (a) go into fastboot mode(Switch on by pressing power+volume down) (b) Connect phone via USB Cable. Have the proper drivers installed. (c) Launch Mi Unlock tool and login into Mi Account. (d) refresh to search phone, select and press unlock. Takes a couple of seconds to unlock the bootloader.

Unlock the bootloader by following the solution described above .
Download and install MiFlashtool 2017.4.25.0.
Download a stable fastboot ROM suitable for your device and place the unzipped folder in the same folder as MiFlashtool C:\xiaomi\XiaoMiFlash
Boot device into fastboot mode and connect.
Flash the ROM. Just it.
