Bluetooth Keyboard not typing on CM12.1 or the new 7.1.1 image. - Nook HD, HD+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I got a new Bluetooth keyboard and it will connect on both images, but I cant type on anything. It doesn't do anything when typing. I tried it on my phone with 6.0.1 and it works with no problem. I also tried to the Bluetooth keyboard fix app for 4.3 and up with the same results. I've look look through the threads and I cant find a similar issue.
Thank You
Update
I found an image which lets the keyboard work. A different user had similar problems and he refers to apple keyboard support been added to that image for the keyboard to work. I'm assuming that on the rest of the roms apple keyboard is not supported since I can connect my keyboard, but I cant type anything. Under Language & Input its registered as a Broadcom Bluetooth HID on this image.
This is the keyboard I'm using
Anker Bluetooth Ultra Slim-Keyboard
This is the rom that I'm currently using.
cm-10.1-20130712-UNOFFICIAL-ovation-emmc.zip
I first tried this image and it didn't work
cm-10.1.3-ovation_OC6
I have tried CM 12.1, 6.0.1 and the new 7.1.1 image with the same results as well.

Freedom Mini BT Keyboard character mismatch

Hello,
I am trying to use my (German) Diamond with the old (English) Freedom Mini Bluetooth Keyboard. See http://pocketnow.com/index.php?a=portal_detail&t=reviews&id=725
I could not find any drivers for this keyboard on the net anymore, but pairing does work fine without, basic writing is also possible (only z and y is switched). Though I have major problems with the remaining keyboard layouts, as almost all additional characters (!"§$%& etc.) are not there, where the keyboard layout says. Its always a try and error approach for me.
Does anyone manage to use it in a real "what you see is what you get" mode maybe by changing the language on the diamond or via a driver?
Is there any easy way to change the the keyboard layout (AEKmap might work, but with it I had to remap almost all keys)
Thanks,
Michael
Characters mismatch
I bought an Freedom Universal Keyboard² and have the same problem regarding some keys do not match up with the signs on the keyboard.
I also put an message on their help desk (a week ago), no answer yet.
Unfortunally the choises between the layouts in the driver is very limited.

Problem when using bluetooth keyboard

I have searched the forums but I'm unable to find any solutions.
I have a bluetooth keyboard that I have been using with all of my previous WM devices with no problems. I recently bought the Diamond and found that while I can pair and use the keyboard with no problems (using the iGo drivers), the space (when hitting the spacebar) seems to have a lag to be registered when keying in any text field. Any example would be:
What I typed:
"The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog"
What may be displayed (the lag on the space key is random):
"Thequ ickb rownfo x jumps overt he lazydo g"
I have tried to "remove" the eT9 (so that the HTC suggestion will not work) by changing the following registry key:
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Layouts\e0010409
"Layout Text">"eT9 IME" and "Ime File">"\\windows\\eT9ime.dll"
to
"Layout Text">"COMP IME" and "Ime File">"compime.dll"
as suggested here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Athena_AP4_FAQ
While this solves the "lagging space" problem, it also disabled my T9 (any taps on any buttons becomes numbers only), which I rely on a lot when I don't have the keyboard.
Does anyone have any solution for me?? Thanks in advance!!
No one uses a Bluetooth keyboard with the Diamond??
I do use a bluetooth keyboard but I don't have any of your problems and I have a Dutch Rom while I do a lot of typework in Portuguese which mean at my case it doesn't do anything with the T9 or wordcompletion.

Hmm... I'm beginning to wonder if there's something wrong with my ROM. For example, I used to have an icon that allows me to choose if I want "advanaced network" when I plug into the computer using my USB, but now that option is gone.
If I where you I would start to give my phone a hard reset.

I use the Axim Dell BT Keyboard (the same as the iGo Stowaway) with Dells own driver v4.3.1. When I use the WinMo's own BT driver, the letters match, but some shift keys don't. When I use the Dells driver, it works fine...
Maybe you could try using the Dells driver.
Wilsas, I have tried to hard reset twice and reflashed the ROM once. It didn't helped.
VerusAmos, I can't find 4.3.1 of the driver (apparantly only the Japanese version exist for 4.3.1, the WWE version is 4.3). The 4.3 from Dell is similar to the 4.3 from Stowaway, and both drivers have the same problems.
I have uploaded a video of the problem here:

Just to be sure I'll give you my Axim Dell driver, hopefully its a different one you've tried and will help you solve your problem...

[Q] Bluetooth Keyboard aospMod & aospModGB

I'm having trouble pairing my keyboards with my phone. I know it didn't work in stock 2.1 ("paired but not connected"). I'm seeing the same in aospMod 0.9.9.2 ("paired but not connected"). Using my phone frequently today for calls to swap to GB (maybe this evening), but does anyone have any suggestions for connecting bluetooth keyboards?
Older 2009 threads pointed to an app in the market, but wondering if the recommendations are still the same. Specifically I'm trying to connect either a Logitech DiNovo, or a ThinkOutside Stowaway Universal Bluetooth Keyboard.
Thanks
Got it to work finally. Here's how you can do it:
Download BlueKeyboard JP from Android Market & Install
Under Settings > Input & Keyboard > check BlueKeyboard
Access bluekeyboard (right below the check one), pair up the keyboard
Go back once, choose the keyboard & layout.
Now, go into an app, long press > input method > bluekeyboard
You're set then Now if only we could put HID support in roms, or even Android native.
The CM6.x roms work with HID Keyboards natively.
I just switched from AOSP to BlackMod 6.2 rc1 for this very reason. I'm using a Stowaway Ultra-Slim. All of the programs I tried from the market failed to work for me.

Generic BT keyboard connects but no input

ISSUE: Generic Bluetooth keyboard connects to Android (CM 9 with nightly build), but I do not get input from the keyboard at all.
I have viewed some of the threads already on this issue, but with no luck I haven't really found a solution. Someone suggested to use the terminal to connect it, but I really have no idea on how to do that.
I have also looked at "Easy Bluetooth keyboard connect" or something like that and I haven't really gotten that to work either, well it didn't really recognize the keyboard.
Any suggestions would be great.
I have the exact same issue with my generic keyboard. I used BlueKeyboard JP but that is a clunky solution. I tried the keyboard on cm9 on my phone and it worked fine. Does the official HP keyboard work different is there a way to fix this?
are you checking the keyboard settings in the "language & Input" part of the settings menu?

Yes, it is not showing up. The only thing that shows up is the default keyboard and the google voice one. None relating to the but keyboard at all.
If you mean the Input device profile under the bluetooth settings then yes I have that checked. But there is still no input.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium 2
I have had no luck with the bluetooth keyboard or CM9. It works on my phone running 2.3 and on CM7 for the touch pad. I also had a dell streak 7 with honey comb and that did even work with the bluetooth keyboard.
Yup, me, too..
I'm having the same issue.
'rm-rf /data/misc/bluetoothd/*' and a BT on/off, then re-pair resulted in no change, btw. :/

[Q] Do any Custom ROMs fix the hardware shift issues

The title says it all really. I'm still running stock, and find it's fine apart from the non-sticky shift key when using browsers. Do any of the Custom ROMs address this issue? I'm assuming that there isn't a fix for the stock ROM.
Cheers,
Steve.

The shift key functions normally on all the 4.2.2 ROMs I have tried. I found Eclipse to be hit and miss just like stock. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
shift key
the default software keyboard will mess with the hardware shift key, try using another one like jelly bean keyboard or hacker's keyboard.

It's all a bit frustrating. The shift key on the hardware keyboard works perfectly with SwiftKey on stock, but for me SwiftKey interferes with the keyboard function too much in other areas (such as automatically putting a space after a comma, which always catches me out, and showing suggestions).
TBH the 4.2.2 ROMS just look a tiny fraction away from being suitable as a daily driver for me - I use the lap dock, and that doesn't seem to be supported, as far as I could see.
If I could get SwiftKey to simply go into a "silent" mode with the hardware keyboard, then I'd be sorted. I don't want correction suggestions, or for it to try and mess with what I've physically typed, but although these suggestions have been made on their forum, it doesn't look like they are working to provide functionality like that - probably because there aren't many devices with a physical keyboard.
All the other keyboards I've tried (Swype, Jelly Bean, various "null" keyboards) all seem to suffer the shift key issue in browsers (the default keyboard seems to be intermittent, in that I've seen it working once or twice, but most of the time it seems to fail).
Cheers,
Steve.
