EMUI 5 non-rounded corners for notifications - Huawei P9 Questions & Answers

Hey all,
Just upgraded to Nougat B361 on EVA-L09C363B361, love it aside from the rounded notifications -- is there anyway to get flat notifications like EMUI 4? Or square corners? EMUI Themes don't seem to change the notification look (unless I haven't figured it out)
My notifications currently look like this, which I think is normal: i.imgur.com/thiA0I6.png

You could always try and get the beta of nougat as it was a feature added in the full release! Or find someone with mad theming skills that can help you lol

Try Emui Theme Editor from Playstore! There are some different icons to choose!

just uploading now should be here in about 10 minutes... please keep an eye out
Thanks for the support
I like the dark notification / toggle screen but for me personally the icons in app draw and on front screen are too small. With the original CleanSense theme I didn't need to read what the apps were as the icons were instantly recognizable. I also love the transparent dial pad.
Oh man if this just had the same icons as previous it would be better and I gave that 10/10
Think I'll have to stick with the original, for now
Appreciate the effort, still loving CleanSense.

again thank you for your support if you needed the notification toggle you can download the theme and in theme manager you can use the edit option to just change over to the new notification/toggle screen

Ok thanks, sorted the dial pad but I don't see option for notification/toggle screen. Only notification as in ringtone.
Edit:
Nevermind, realised it comes under status bar. Unfortunately I prefer the original status bar icons so will have to keep original notification / toggle panel
Edit2:
I think it would be better if in dial pad, as you dial number digits appear in black, it doesnt look right being white and doesnt stand out.

Theme Store vs Substratum for customization

Which one do you guys recomend for theming. I have been running substratum with Nova.
I like the theme store a lot. I'm running a nice dark theme with some purple in it. I've heard of substratum, but never actually used it.
I haven't used Nova on this, so far. I never thought I'd utter these words, but I'm liking touchwiz on the Note 8!

I have always used Nova since my galaxy S2
however... now TouchWiz has the option to swipe down to pull the notification bar down and Substratum is here...
im using a mixture of Substratum / Overlays from XDA / Theme from Samsung theme store with TouchWiz
Also because of these new updates this is my first ever device i have not rooted (YET)
That's pretty big for me!

I prefer substratum and another launcher. Some of the theme store themes look pretty good but the themers are only allowed theme the samsung apps and you end up with the cohesiveness of your theme looking bad.

this was my issue when i used Nova, annoying seeing everything themed and then opening the edge panel and all the icons being totally different.
however the only thing that kept me off touchwiz was the notification bar not being able to be pulled down from anywhere, but now that's 'fixed' ive been using the theme store and overlays... only substratum theme im using is to get the clock centered. still lots more choice with Nova/other launchers but there are some hidden gems in the theme store, or you could even grab some xda themes if you wanna go through the hassle of getting them to stick.
also i dont think substratum has enough choice for Samsung users yet, maybe i am too used to substratum for stock android rom. so much customisation where as for us at the moment barely any in comparison, even less if you are not willing to pay for every theme.

I always forget about the edge panel lol. I'm using Nova now but think I'm going to switch to the theme store for a bit. There aren't a lot of choices at all for substratum yet. I was trying to find a way to change the nav bar but none of the over lays work that I have found.

There's an aosp one in the overlays thread. You could also edit the apk and replace the aosp icons with your own to make your own nav bar using Apkeditor from the playstore
I just like the stock Samsung one better

LOL, glad to hear I'm not the only one! I've been using Nova since my Galaxy S3 days and was always the first thing I installed but I haven't used it yet on my Note 8, kinda liking TW right now.

I have 2 x Themes from theme store by Lucas Kendi.
"Blac UI" is a free theme.
His theme has i think the Pixel navbars.
If you install theme it also changes the Samsung
navbar.Also ringtones, notification sound. Etc
So ringtones etc, you have to change back to you preferred ones
His other theme (i have) Oxy black also changes the navbar.
Overall i use a mixture of Nova Prime /Samsung Themes and Klwp themes.
I found that as stated by others Substratum
themes are very limited and not worth installing on Note 8.
As i already have most paid Substratum Samsung Themes
i use them mostly on my spare Note 5.

Thanks!
Looked promising but it creates a theme at the end rather than an installable overlay like substratum. It's a nice tool to make a theme though
(Only problem is I then loose my Samsung theme icons etc) also have to go through the whole getting a 'Free trial' theme to stick
I'm happy with my setup at the moment anyway :good:
The only other issue I had with that app was not enough options to change I could only change a few bits, was hoping to fully black out apps but could only do headers and status bar etc

Me too, happy with my present subs, layers and samsung theme store setup. May try it later when it matures.

Mate10 like clean theme

how can i apply a huawei Mate 10 theme to honor view 10 to lose the colorful top in settings, email, dialer and messaging? I have the Mate 10 Pro default themes but when applied the nasty bright colored top in aforementioned sections still stay the same. Basically I'd like it to look exactly like Mate 10 Pro with out all the Honor specific colored top.
No luck I guess...

I actually found one in EMUI theme factory app called Black & White default 1.1. Awesome!

Black Theme for Honor Play EMUI9

Does a black theme work for Honor Play EMUI9 without graphical bug's?
There is no perfect black theme out there for EMUI 8 or 9.
Deep black

Better put a hold on theming till we get non buggy updates I think.
Have a try with my Theme https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-play/themes/round-icons-theme-honor-play-root-t3900620 I made an icon theme which makes all stock icons hi-res round and all other apps with round icons.

It's the first time I've actually made something and I'm really hyped about it what do you expect. :victory:
Dark EMUI 9 Theme for Huawei/Honor by Aurel is the best one out there. It is almost perfect with few issues.
Deep black will hide lots of text from the notifications (I assume that in this case its using dark text in conjuction with dark background). Otherwise, yes, it's a dark theme indeed.

(Q) theming on EMUI

Hi all,
Have been jumping been AOSIP and EMUI for a while, both have their advantages and disadvantages but one thing that I think should be quite fixable is the theming on EMUI, is love to find a complete or close to theme, dark or transparent where everything or near everything is themed.
AOSIP accomplishes this perfectly.
So my question is, specifically, how can you completely theme EMUI? Preferably dark.
1 what did you use
2 what wasn't themed
3 any bugs things to take note of
