G920A 6.0.1 Root?? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S6

Hello, I am trying to root my AT&T Galaxy S6 G920A Phone. I'm having some trouble with it, as most root methods don't seem to support my baseband model. Does anyone know of a way to root the S6 with a baseband model of G2920AUCS5DPK5? Build number is MMB29K.G920AUCS5DPK5. Thanks in advance to anyone with info.

So far there is no root

Our At&t bootloader is locked so idk if we will ever get a root on 6.0.1

Darn. Why is this specific baseband version not possible to root at the moment? I think other g920a's (from at&t) are rootable.

Very early lollipop builds were rootable with ping-pong. Later lollipop builds were rootable with a tethered solution. No root that I'm aware of once you're on MM or beyond. For any g920a. At least some non 'a' variants are unlockable/rootable.

Unless of course he updated prior to the root method thread created.
In either case, it appears that with the oc4 bootloader you can downgrade to root. Look for the Downgrade lollipop thread.

Could you use odin to flash the stock NDE kernel and then use towelroot to obtain root then flash the 0C4 kernel back ? I used a similar method when i was on 4.4.4 ,any feedback on this, thanks.

[Q] Difference CF-Auto Root between Galaxy S5 and S5 Active

Hello everyone,
I have a Galaxy S5 Active - SM-G870F with Android version 5 and I want to root my device, however on chainfire`s site I find auto root only for 4.4.2 version
My questions are:
Will it be ok to root my device v5 with auto root zip for version 4.4.2?
Other way around would be to use G900F (standart galaxy s5)`s model zip for rooting, will this be okay, and which option is best?
Thanks in advance for your time and attention.
Well, I took the risk and can confirm SM-G870F S5 Active with Android vesrion 5.0 with the latest stock firmware for Europe from sammobile (25 Jul 2015) can be rooted with cf-auto-root for version 4.4.2.

Thank you for this information! I rooted the sm-g870F for my friend and it worked. Do you know if there is a working recovery for our device available?
How is this related to at&t phones?

danielsgl, this is not related to at&t phones but for the european s5 active - g870f model, my thread was posted elsewhere but a moderator moved it. It seems that this subforum is the only place where s5 active topics could be posted.

How To Upgrade From Stock/Rooted 5.0.2 To 6.0.1?

I am on a stock rooted ATT Galaxy S6, thats rooted, running 5.0.2, I wanna upgrade to 6.0.1 losing root, but every guide I see if for 5.1.1 to 6.0.1, my updates are turned off on the phone, so it doesn't update, but how do I manually go from 5.0.2 to 6.0.1? Thanks in advance.

I'm chiming in here because I have been on a rooted version of 5.02 for over a year. I want to update from 5.02 to 6.0 to 7.0 if possible before I sell my phone on e-bay.
Current baseband is G920AUCU2AOF4
IS there a thread with the files need and a path to follow to get there?
Thanks to anyone who can help!
Add one more to this list.....
I rooted my S6 when I first got it 2 years ago and haven't messed with it since. Still running CleanRom 1.1-OE2 5.0.2 baseband AOE2 ......
I also have another S6 thru work. It's all stock. Recently updated to 7.0 and got the itch to update my personal S6 to a more modern version of Android but dont want to loose root.
Is it possible?
Any guide?
Remember it's been a while (almost 2yrs) since I've hacked on a phone so I'm a newb again lol!
