I've created this thread so people can hopefully share their setup for substratum whether just themes or other things you can do in substratum like changing your navigation bar etc.
I personally prefer dark themes like the majority of people seem to do and I am only using a swift dark substratum theme and I am looking for other themes and to hopefully use combinations of different themes.
Please share your setup and possibly screenshots if it looks good. I won't bother because mine is basically just black and boring. The point of this thread is to mainly help people find new themes and what combinations you might like to try. Please post below and hopefully people can find a good theme that satisfies their needs.
I personally am looking for a dark theme that stands out and is bold with good contrast in colours. I'm happy to pay for themes if need be.
Edit: My current favourite theme is flux and will probably be deep darkness when it comes out in the future.
Edit: I'm now using compound as my main theme and flux and Lone4subs and swift dark to fill in any apps that compound doesn't cover. Still waiting for deep darkness:crying:

Only mixing I've ever done was between Belo and Outline to get the battery to show on the white QS panel. I normally use Outline's Nav though.

Cool, thanks for sharing I'll have to check it out. Probably the best theme there is should be coming out very soon, maybe even less than a week. It is called deep darkness.

Well, I've always been a fan of the #LongLiveWhiteUI and avoided dark themes due to the black on black text. That drives me crazy. [emoji14]
It's probably due to using MIUI in the past, which is just beautiful, but I'll have to give a dark theme a chance. I buy them to support the devs, but never actually applied one, lol. [emoji14]

Wow that actually looks awesome I've got to try that. Thanks. Also btw substratum seems to be fixed in Chad's uber and the power off option actually powers the phone off. Just wanted to update you if you ever think about switching or trying it out again. Great theme

I feel that dark themes look nicer and are better on the eyes especially at night time. I haven't had a problem with black on black but it could depend on the theme you downloaded. I had black on black until I installed the overlay for android system.
It's there any way to make substratum work on original firmware with Root ? I'm on 7.1.1 5 Jan 2017 version ... Cause Everytime I tried i ended in bootloop.

I think some themes work bit not the majority of them because it doesn't have full oms support. Just get a custom rom, why not

Good to know some issues have been fixed in Chad's Uber. Might try it again or at least try latest Faster kernel with DU to compare battery life and performance.

Substratum themes have included an anti piracy checker... So if you have apps such as "lucky patcher" installed, uninstall it first

Hey Dave! Thanks for the support and very kind words as always! Appreciate it. Reptile and Scorpion we 2 that I got a lot of request for so I tried to get them out there as soon as I had a pretty solid base going again for 4.4.x.
Thanks to everyone for checking out my themes, I have a few small bug's I noticed, mostly text colors in some small places, but I'm working on a fix as quickly as possible! Coming really soon I promise!

Hey, I love this theme. Thank you for all the hard work! I'm having problems theming the dialer. I flashed the linked black dialer/MMS fix but it didn't change anything. Looking through the zip I see lots of files for the world clock apk, but nothing for the dialer. Am I missing something?
It's great to see this branching out to new colors. Subzero has been one of my favorites for quite some time!

Thanks man I really appreciate the support. As for how much time I have spent learning and making these themes... Countless hours honestly, I have been at it for about 2 years and I was giving away the first 100 versions as I was learning, I only started selling them because I had my first child and I'm not by any means a rich man so I was hoping to make a few bucks for a case of milk or some diapers LOL so thanks to everyone for that

Are you sure you have the right file man?? World clock??? Should be MMS, Dialer, Contacts and Apollo and Hangouts. Very weird! Try downloading again: http://d-h.st/1uH There are no world clock files in that ZIP I just checked.

Done. And me neither! I consider myself experienced in the flashing department and this is making my brain hurt.
Edit: turns out it was the root explorer I was using was bugging out and displaying the wrong files in the zip. That's a new one! The new file you sent me looked the same, so I used the built in cm file manager and it made everything appear as it should. Unfortunately, I flashed it and it still didn't do anything. Cm11 nightly t0lte with TWRP (latest). I'm admitting defeat and living with it! Thanks for the help anyways I appreciate it!!!

Caper,Vermilion & Azure
About the themes
Every element in each theme, is very carefully drawn, in an effort to ensure a high quality experience. The drawables are minimal, clean, and express everything just the way they should. Every color scheme is chosen, after testing it carefully, and finding a color most pleasing to the eye, such that it looks great on both dark as well as light backgrounds. Other than that, specially crafted tones are also included in the apk, along with minimal wallpapers, that match the color scheme.
I started off with Vermilion, a 'red on dark' color scheme based themed, with clean and minimal icons. After releasing the theme, I felt the urge of releasing different, new, color schemes. So I did Green, called Caper. These both were paid themes. I hadn't yet released any free theme, so came the blue recolor called Azure, a 'contribution' to the community. That's the story for my current 3 themes.

Tried vermilion, and is surprisingly good! Great work, loved all the small small details one bug I found, in notification draw and when we move to qs tiles menu at notification drawer , there is a gap where the "clear all" button should come. Notification blurring is because you have enabled flat style module.. Try disabling it in xposed, or disable notification blurring in the module itself. Flat style module doesn't go well with every other theme.

For the QS tile, are you on the latest update? They work perfect for me, I'm on PA myself. If you already have the latest APKs, try applying the theme and then rebooting, perhaps that'll work.

All themes apply correctly for me, the battery tiles are themed. Try applying stock theme, then reboot, and apply the theme and reboot yet again.

Just wanted to say that this is AWESOME! Thanks for all the work you've done in porting, and can't wait for further development! It's really the only fully themed L port out there for non CM users that's being updated, so keep up the good fight

Sounds good to me! This is already a huge upgrade, so anything extra can just come at an easy pace....only question I have is, do you know of any sort of easy-ish way to get the notification pulldown to stretch the whole width again? It's the one change I honestly do not like with L so far. Especially since I'm running the Gaussian Blur module for it as well, so the blur just....stops near the ends, and it's ticking me off. If not I'll definitely learn to live with it, I just wish I could see what Google's aim was in making this design decision over having it stretch the full width.

I'm sorry but I didn't exactly want to take requests because I'm mimicking the styles of Android L by mirroring another theme. I made this theme because of the lack of an Android L theme for CM10 and HK theme manager and I don't want to break away from its style. BTW I've attached a screenshot of how the actual pulldown looks in L, just so you can see (from Google Search, not taken by me).

Oh I wasn't expecting you to do it, I know what you're going for and I appreciate it! Wouldn't want you to change the whole style for one person. Was moreso asking if you knew of a way I could do it on my own, or somewhere that I could find out. You keep doing what you're doing, as I'll assume most people WANT that full Android L experience. I've included a screenshot of what mine looks like. Not too bad on the default screen, but when you get to places where a white background or a bright color fill is present, it's an unpleasant aesthetic.

Just installed the T-MOgenta theme and applied it, but I'm not seeing the results as shown above. I wasn't using a theme before, but applied the default one again to be sure. The wallpaper changes, as does some other areas, but to an orange hue instead of magenta.
I did change my DPI to 500 using the ADB shell command. Could that affect it?

The DPI is what caused it. I reverted to a standard size, and the theme applied as shown in the previews above.
@fryingpan0613 Any chance of getting the theme to support varying DPIs? If possible with the restrictions LG puts in place, that is.

I guess my replies yesterday didn't go through... I can mess with the other dpi and see what happens after I finish the theme I'm working on. I've never really touched the other DPI since these were for xxxhdpi.

Awesome I'm glad you liked it! That's one that most don't like because it's "boring", but sometimes simple is nice. As far as the icons, I don't touch any icons because I personally hate when not all apps carry the same theme, and I can only touch LG icons so I just leave them stock on all themes.

Yeah, that's how I feel too. I'd rather the icons just be left alone if they can't all be themed. I don't mind stock colored apps, it's when only a few change that it drives me batty.

Just got the aquifier theme and I absolutely love it. It makes much better use of the oled display than the white default theme does and I love the color blue. (I've always been a sucker for the way that android ics and jellybean looked).
I have the Verizon v30 vs996 and the theme works fine. I had to get the theme from the play store and go into homescreen settings and theme to apply it.

I'm getting close to finishing this theme for the normal resolution, then I'll probably go and do the other resolutions for those that change dpi before I release it. This one has taken awhile because I have to change basically everything for this theme to work.
I actually started this on the v20 but I didn't get it to my satisfaction before turning it in for the v30 so it never got released.

I dont know what it is about it, but I love it! And I dont even like purple lol, mabye I need to do this theme with black instead too.
I made a few really different themes on the v20, but they weren't popular. Like I made one that was desert digital camo themed, I loved it but it was a massive flop. I made a really awesome red white and blue theme too.

I like that it's darker than white, but not blacked out. I know there's a "white UI must die" obsession with AMOLED devices, but then all devices just look the same.

Finally the Purple Nights theme is complete and published, including support for other DPI and screen resolutions in settings (settings > display > screen resolution). This theme has taken awhile to complete, I have been working on it since I got my V30, and I spent a few weeks on it for the v20 (it was never released) before that. The lower resolutions have to be manually resized and repatched, so it will take a while before I can get all my previous themes up to date with the resolution fixes since I basically have to recreate the theme 2 more times at lower sizes.
