Stuck at TWRP after OTA - OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers

Hi Guys,
I'm stuck on TWRP after stupidly downloading the latest OTA and I don't know what to do!
Phone won't boot normal, just goes off, but wil still boot in TWRP
Situation:
- Bootloader, Fastboot and TWRP wil load.
- Device seen by windows
- Zip install in TWRP gets stuck at 'patching zip unconditionally'
- Another zip flashes, but gets stuck at the end, no reboot option (or was I to hasty? )
Can someone please point me in the right direction? I don't care if I lose data, just want my phone back!
Not helping:
Saying i'm a dipsh-t I know, I know, I will do better in the future, for now, help a brother out please

Hi. I dont mean to hijack the thread but I thought it would be better than starting a new thread with the same problem. I just got my One today and started going through the process of installing a custom rom. I unlocked the bootloader, installed a custom recovery and root and everything went fine. When I went to install Revolution 9.2 I went through the aroma installer and everything said it went OK but I'm now in a boot loop.
I installed the toolkit and using that I was able to flash different recoveries, including the stock recovery, but while I can see a different recovery screen flash, it then still boot loops. I can get into Fastboot, but not recovery. I'm downloading a stock rom exe as suggested, but didnt know which one to select. Im downloading an Asia one since im in NZ and thats the closest. is it possible to flash back to stock by fastboot? Im wondering if my partition got porked during the rom flash.
Any ideas?

Thanks, will give that a try
But before you must find a way to stop the boot loop and enter to the recovery.
There is a boot.img in the ARHD zip file. Extract that file and by using "fastboot flash boot boot.img" command install to the phone.
After that erase the cache again. And Install any custom recovery. Try installing rom by AIO Toolkit SIDELOAD option.

[Q] Support Possibly Bricked (Soft-Bricked for sure)

Hi there! I have been stumped for the past 18 hours trying to fix my phone, and I decided to come to the people who actually know what they are doing. I had Cyanogenmod installed on my phone, and I wanted it gone. I have somewhat forgot the steps I have taken in between.
I am at the point where I have the following tags on my H-Boot (Version 1.56) Tampered & Re-Locked. I have TWRP installed, using sideloader always gives me a error (executing updater binary in zip). Trying to mount to sdcard, gives me a error (unable to mount /data/). Using fastboot to flash with either a recovery img or the rom gives me a error (signature verify error).
Any help is appreciated. I can Skype Screen-share and call with people, if it would speed up the process, if you would be willing to help with that, please drop me a PM with your Skype name. All and any help is appreciated. Cheers.
Unlock your bootloader at HTC Dev, that's why you cant flash recovery, and certainly wont be able to flash any ROM's with it locked.
ps. not bricked at all.

Unlocked my bootloader, installed TWRP, however I am back to this rather annoying 'error: device not found' I fixed it before by killing and re-starting the server, however sideload still giving me that. Any help?
Edit: Got that working, however sideload is giving me assert failed: file_getprop and Error executing updated binary in zip.

The full name of the ZIP I downloaded was:
Code:
OTA_M7_UL_K44_SENSE55_MR_Vodafone_UK_4.19.161.11-3.63.161.6_release_356881mwn487m942rk64ep
It's the one I got told for my phone, as I am on Vodafone and it matches with my details.
That wont work, its not a zip, that's why your having problems, its the official RUU
I have a backup of the Vodafone original rom for your device, I will PM you a link, but first will you enter your recovery and backup your current rom please, the reason I ask you to do this is because by doing a backup, TWRP will automatically creat a couple of folders where you will need to put the backup I give you.

Cheers dude. I have backed up every folder on TWRP.
unzip the file I give you and extract it somewhere where you can find it all like on your desktop.
flash the recovery included in the zip, just incase of compatibility issues, its still TWRP, just a different version.
Copy backup folder and its contents to your internal phone memory - TWRP - BACKUPS - (folder named device serial number) - place the folder with the backup here.
Enter recovery and flash it.

Flash Failed trying to Install Recovery

Hi guys, is the first time i try to install another room on my Xperia Z, i followed step by step all the requeriments
-I unlocked the bootloader
-I rooted my phone
-Install Recovery. I downloaded the TWRP App on Play Store. I select my device (Xperia Z) and i choose the last file to flash (twrp-3.0.2.0-yuga.img). I press "Flash To Recovery" and it says Flash Failed, so i can turn on my phone on the Recovery Mode..
There's another way to install the recovery? I'm a little bit worried because i heard about "Bricked Phone" and i don't wanna do something that could bring me to that.
PD: After i unlock the bootloader and root the phone, i downloader the TWRP App, and i think this could be important. The first time i open this App i have the Option to "Backup Existing Recovery". And i never installed a Recovery and in addition, when i unlocked the bootloader, all the information was deleted (yes i knew this) but TWRP gave me the option to backup and existing recovery.
Maybe if now i reset all data to zero and install again TWRP app could work?
PD2: First time i did it i don't read if the Recovery was installed. I was following instructions and tryied to reboot to enter recovery (turn off button + volume down) but it didn't work. So i once again did the same process and it said Flash Failed. Seems maybe i already have the recovery installed but for some reason i can enter
Seems i already have installed the Recovery with the TWRP Official App. The problem is that the first time i installed i didn't read the message that said if it was all ok or no. Seems was all Ok. But when i tried to enter into the Recovery Mode i coudn't (Turn On + Volumen Down Button). So again i installed the Recovery but this time it said "Flash Failed"
If i install XZDualrecovery assuming for a moment that i have already installed a recovery, could be any problem?
I m also facing problem in flashing from twrp.
Each time I m unble to flash.
As msg is showing flash failed.

Yes i did it but my problem is already fixed.
First i unlocked the bootloader, then i rooted with Kingroot app. I installed TWRP Official App but this didn't work for me. So i installed the XZDualrecovery. After that i tried to install the ROM but again failed with another error. So after i installed the XZDualrecovery i installed TWRP 3.1.0 and then the ROM, and is done.

I'm gonna explain you all the method for you to know and if somebody has any problem.
First of all, if you did something and was wrong, go to flash your phone here: https://developer.sonymobile.com/open-devices/flash-tool/use-the-flash-tool-for-xperia-devices/. This restart your phone, quit root and recovery.
1- Unlock your phone here: https://developer.sonymobile.com/unlockbootloader/
2- Download and install Kingroot App, root and then download Check root App if all is okay.
3- Download the XZDualrecovery here: http://nut.xperia-files.com/path/XZ...g21jd24hub9so04tqn9vc50&randomizer=_oupgp8psh and follow the instructions here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NteAd_MzsPI
4- Once recovery is installed, reboot, enter the recovery and Press Wipe and select Data, Cache and Dalvik Cache. Maybe system but i don't know.
5-Install the ROM and without reboot install the Gapps. First time maybe it could 10-15 minutes or less to restart with the new ROM, just wait.
Hope it worked for you!

Dual recovery will work in both Stock KitKat and Stock Lollipop rom.
The very first install should be from KitKat ofcourse, because in KitKat
its the most easy to root, and root is require for install dual recovery.
The recovery must be installed in fota partition if you read instructions
on twrp homepage.
Its hard to try help people when they partly ignore

No, no matter if you flash or not, if you unlock the bootloader is gonna be unlocked even if you flash. If you did something and was wrong, in my opinion you should flash and start again.
And the rom i used was lollipop 5.1.1. I didn't see what you say about kernel or boot, maybe i did it wrong but i'm good now with the ROM.
I forgot to mention that after installing dualrecovery you install TWRP 3.1 but i see you know it

My phone got a bootloop to twrp 3.0.2-7 after I wanted to restore to factory settings (from settings menu), I tried flashing 'new' RR-N-v5.8.5-20170926-aio_otfp-FINAL (during flashing I had 2 errors - logs available), tried to flash with some other roms, I tried to restore some old backups - same thing = bootloop to twrp.
I don't want to brick it like the guy from this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/k3-note/help/help-unbricking-k3-note-k50a40-charging-t3699007

I did not had time to revert rooting and remove custom recovery, so can't say much at this moment.
But your bootloop issue is most probably due to presence of TWRP, you need to completely remove root & TWRP, restore stock boot and recovery, then try.

Fortunately I've made it working again.
What I did, I flashed phone with SP FLash Tool 5.1628 and K50a40_S433_160909_ROW https://forum.xda-developers.com/k3-note/development/official-build-lenovo-k3-note-k50a40-6-t3370537. But it was not success at that time. Phone acted weirdly couldn't boot, only vibration after power on could be felt. So I tried to flash only the recovery Lenovo K3 Note Stock Recovery.img 10,2MB (also in the package but not default recovery image for S433) with the scatter map from S433 stockrom but SPFL said that it didn't end successfully, so I flashed only rocovery from stock rom S433 target_bin folder recovery.img 12800kB and then voila, it started to boot, there was a Lenovo logo, took some time to start but eventually phone is working.
Now I want to root it and / or flash correct version because my phone is actually k50-t5 not k50a40.
So thanks and good luck to those with similar problems after restoring factory settings on AIMROM.

this is the stock recovery, extract this recovery and paste the contents to a folder named STOCK
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2I5z1mFfUpcaE5sZTk3M2Vrc1E/view
this is the TWRP recovery, extract this recovery and paste the contents to a folder named TWRP
1.install adb and fastboot on ur laptop.(am using ububtu 16.04)
2.make the phone to go to TWRP
3.plug in the usb
4.open terminal and type adb devices
5.see if device is detected ,if detected do the following
go to the STOCK rfolder u created and open terminal there.and type the following
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot devices
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

Exactly the same thing happened to me.
So I tried your idea and updated my TWRP, going from 2.8 to 3.1..1
But exactly the same thing happens - it still bootloops, but to the new TWRP.
I've tried flashing several different ROMs that all worked in the past. But no change.

do as what i have mentioned above,..and give update
It worked ! Thanks.
The reason I didn't try it straight away was all the comments about wrong links etc. And some of the links afterwards didn't work. So I was looking for a recovery.img file in other places.
I read your new message, so I used the first link in your post which gave me the recovery img. The TWRP link doesn't seem to work, but I already have an up to date TWRP on the phone.

How to root with the latest firmware (security patch 1 August)?

Hi guys. I rooted my phone before last update with "magisk patch ap file" method. But this method isn't working with the new firmware. And i tried to root with twrp too and it boots but in a black screen its written verification failed. So the both not working anymore. How u guys able to root your m20?
And how about havoc os gsi? Is there a guide for it?

Hey all you need to do is wipe data partition by changing it's file format.
For that do the usual routing stuff.
Boot into Twrp
Formata Data -- Yes---
Flash RMM
Wipe--- Advanced -- data -- change/repair--- choose the one left of f2fs --- wipe --- f2fs now --- wipe --- back
Install magisk
Boom
Let me know if video is needed.

first i did everything correctly in this post above.
after that i followed your procedure and i did everything correctly.
and it boot up without showing verification error. i was really happy and wanted to thank you. but after i rebooted my device. an then it said only official binaries allowed. then i flashed the firmware again because it cant be booted otherwise now it stucked at the samsung screen. i dont know why samsung makes things like this complicated.
edit: it booted after i format data. but still no root
