B361 battery drain - Huawei P9 Questions & Answers

My p9 drains way more battery than when it was on marshmallow. Should I rollback to marshmallow (which is my last choice) or there is a workaround of it ?
Majority of drainage is because of the Android System.

dont pay attention to those stats..they will drive you crazy..I have been trying to find a solution for weeks on end, but it turns out that no matter how much juice the android system (or any app for that matter) sucks I always get around the same screen on time, which is about 6.5-7 h.

There is actually an update to the B361 build which mentions reduced battery usage in the changelog. Haven't been able to apply it though - see post here if interested.

My battery sucks too after nougat. My sot was around 4-5 hours with marshmallow. Now i can't reach 3h of sot.

I'm on B378 and the battery seems to be as good or better than on B182. Those builds are "stable" but still feel like beta from what I've seen. Either update to 378 or roll back to MM

How can I update to 378?

Unfortunately there is no such update in system updater, neither in firmware finder.

New update failed? What update?

Hi.
I have SIII mini with official JB 4.1.2, not rooted (installed using kies).
Today i received a notification for a 33.25 MB update.
Downloads fine but always fails to update around 28% of the installation.
What is this update and possible reasons why it fails?!
Thanks

I'm not rooted. I just figure out what might be the problem. 4.1.2 TPH (free from carrier) for Portugal was released 59 days ago (when i updated using kies). But 4 days ago it showed up again, on "sammobile" and "samsung updates live", 4.1.2 TPH (Portugal). Here's the pic:

Since i can't update (from 4.1.2 to... 4.1.2 :silly: ) through OTA i'll try with KIES.
All went well using kies :good:

I got this one as a automatic OTA update.
Installed it over b839, working like charm. Thanks ☺
There is no difference between b839 and b852!!!
And I don't know why i lost my motion control and huawei Swype!!!
Maybe I lost them because of Factory reset that I have done after update.
Did you do factory reset after update???

It should optimize the compatibility with apps.
Problems with snapchat pictures and facebook Videos and the lockscreen.
In german forum they say its also running even better than b839.
Havent installed it yet for myself but will do the next days.

Some screenshots from my SM-T705 official Marshmallow Update

Hi to all!
I've just flashed the Samsung official Marshmallow firmware on my Galaxy Tab S 8.4 LTE, I took some screenshots in case anyone is interested in seeing it.
I forgot to wipe before flashing with Odin, but all my configurations, apps and accounts seem to have fared just fine in the updated system. I was using SucukROM by @TimurAlaskara_TR and not stock Samsung Lollipop. SuperSU obiously is not working since I've not flashed TWRP yet.
Only app that seems to have problems is Gallery, it works but it gives me an error nearly every time I exit with "back" button.

This is a difficult question, I've had the tablet for less than a month and used very little stock Lollipop, I've mostly been trying custom roms. I would say perhaps some more fluid window opening/closing animation and a little less battery consumption while in use... But I cannot say for sure. I remember that I had a worse general impression of stock Lollipop when I tried.

I do not know, sorry.

Is my P9 too unique? Can't find details on it.

So, I wanted to put 7 on my p9, looked at a video saying I should download the stock rom first, but couldn't find my build number.
I then went to google my build number, but it come back with ZERO results! What the heck am I to do? I guess i'll never get an update now. (was willing to pay for it too)

Can't fknd that either, mine is truly unique, sadly.
Please post here a screenshot of your screen

EVA-L09 is the model number of the phone. C555 is the region code. B160 is the build number of the stock official rom firmware.
I'm sure Samsung uses something very similar for the naming scheme.

would I be able to wipe it or use an American one or something? I only want 7.0 lol I even offered to pay them
I've got the same version as this. I'm on 3 in the UK, and got my handset directly from a 3 store. Having the same problem. I googled how to manually update, and downloaded the required file, unzipped, and copied over to my sd card, creating a dload folder. I got the update started, but it failed at 37%.

Android Pay on latest B133

Just a heads up for anyone who uses Android Pay that (at least for me) it doesn't work on the latest release - VKY-L09C432B133.
I had this once before on my P9+, the release probably needs verified before it gets the green light. If it starts working I'll update.

It was a FunkyHuawei update. Play Store is fine, but I get the result below. As mentioned I've seen this before and it was resolved a week or so later once, I believe, the update is okayed by Google.

What's funky huawei? Third party firmware finder?
I'm just wondering when the official ota is going to come to my p10 plus? Other countries seem to have b133 but I'm still at b120.

Yes it's a paid service, but you can update for free using this tool https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/how-to/guide-mate-9-flash-update-package-t3593108/page55
Or firmware finder from playstore.
