VIE-L29 C900B300 Android N 'The aftermath!' - Huawei P9 Plus Questions & Answers

Hi Everyone!
I have a Huawei P9 Plus and upgraded to Nougat with the info found on this forum. Everything was great until I noticed issues with Bluetooth and Keyboard. I made a factory reset and things got worst, the phone was not moving from Huawei's logo!
After a lot of research, I got it to boot by installing Nougat again with the VOL + VOL - POWER technique (used the HiSuite + Updater found on this forum) and at least, I have a functional phone again with the same issues previously mentioned.
I found a rollback file to prepare the phone to go back to Marshmallow. I made the same vol up vol down power stuff and got it to show VIE-L29C900B300 instead of something with 'testkeys' or something like that.
Every tutorial I have found mentions this step, but I can't seem to find the Marshmallow stock ROM for my phone. I tried one UPDATE.APP for 'Middle East Africa' but the rollback for this ROM did not work when I tried to flash it. The rollback that worked was for 'Southern East Asia'. I can't find the stock ROM for this version!
I'm from Nicaragua and I bought this phone brand new from a local store and I never took a look at what the CXXXBXXX was on the first place, I just know that the phone booted with the VIE-L29C900B300.
Can you guys help me find a Marshmallow stock ROM for this model?
PD: Where the heck is the clock app on Nougat anyways? I can't set up alarms as I could not find this app on the phone!
Your support is highly appreciated!

I think u have C605, what Nougat did u update with, C636 or C185. U updated the wrong Nougat and u did it the wrong way and thats why u had Test Key Build without keyboard, bluetooth and other apps.
Now u need a full stock C605 Firmware to downgrade to MM.

Thanks for your input! Can you help me out to find a URL to such ROM?
I upgraded to N by using HiSuite but I think I will use the forced update to upload the UPDATE.APP
It can be N or Marshmallow, as long as everything works again!

The only firmware to find is Nougat C605B354 there is a MM firmware C605B131 but the server is down and u cant use it.
U can try this guide with Firmware Finder.
What you need?
1. Charged phone
2. Enabled installing unknown apps
3. Download Firmware Finder from Google Store (the free version)
what next?
1. Run Firmware Finder
2. Go to settings and Enable Installation via system update.
3. Tool will prompt to download Firmware Finder Proxy - do it then install it
4. Go back to the tool and select firmware of your choice - make sure you select FULL (not OTA)
5. Firmware Finder Proxy window will open - do as described - go to Wifi, advanced add manual proxy as local host with 8080 port
6. Go to phone settings - system update and choose three dots to download full package
7. It will attempt to download it but it may fail (as in my case) with message about unstable internet connection - go back to wifi settings and disable proxy, go back to update and resume it - update should start to download then follow as on screen instructions

You are right, I can't find such ROM.
One more thing, now that I'm using this Nougat ROM, I noticed that there are many apps missing like Clock, Notepad and even calculator!
When I tried flashing another MM rom (invalid one) I noticed that I couldn't do the factory reset from Huawei's erecovery. I have heard that Nougat blocked the System partition, is that so?
Also, if I can't go back to MM, do you have any URL to a working Nougat version for my phone?
Thanks again for your help!

[ROM] Batakang ROM for DROID RAZR HD - 12/13/2012 - Release 1.00

Introducing Batakang ROM for the Verizon DROID RAZR HD and the Atrix HD. Both devices run fine on the Verizon DROID RAZR HD firmware, and only require 1 ROM for both of them. Batakang ROM (test 12) is build from Hashcode's stock ROM and updated to the official DROID RAZR HD Jellybean by myself. Credits go to Hashcode for his stock ROM and his Safestrap 3. Without him no ROMs would be possible on this device!
Changelog:
12/2/2012 - Test 12. Updated base to official DROID RAZR HD Jellybean.
12/3/2012 - Test 13. Added busybox. Added OTA Update Center support for SS3 auto-updating by dhacker29.
12/12/2012 - Test 14. Added init.d support..
Swtiched from Superuser to SuperSU to fix root issues. Wipe if coming from Test 13 and before!
12/12/2012 - Test 15. No more included Gapps. Flash the 4.1.2 Gapps after flashing Test 15. Do NOT update Google Now (Voice Search) unless you like blank screens on it.
12/13/2012 - Test 16. An 'official' BatakangROM Gapps package is now used. Fixed hopefully all issues with force closes on previous test. Play Store working right away, Google Now works... as always let me no what problems.' Also, TabletUI will no longer be supported officially. You have to change the build.prop line for it yourself starting from now on. Uploading the same build twice just wasn't working out.
12/13/2012 - Release 1.00. CPU Sleep removed (wasn't working). Tethering fixed by default(maybe). Changed version name out of Beta
Known Bugs for DROID RAZR HD (as of Release 1.00):
[If Tether does NOT work out of the box: Download SQLite Editor and change line 67 (entitlement_check) of [Settings Storage > settings.db > settings] from a 1 to a 0. Reboot. WiFi tether and USB then should work.
You tell me.
Be on Jellybean on the DROID RAZR HD (Non-Dev Edition). This can be the leaked or official.
Make a ROM Slot in any ROM slot.
Please go to SS3 main menu.
Choose 'Wipe' and then 'Factory Reset'.
Install the .zip (flash it!)
Then flash the latest official Gapps for the BatakangROM.
Reboot into the ROM.

Evidently you need to restore a backup to the ROM Slot of your stock ROM before flashing. Adding this to the instructions.

So do I need to flash again? If so, in what order do I need to update binary, install busybox, update superuser app, etc?

Did you check to make sure you had root on your stock rom slot? I should probably re-read your steps up to this point, but as long as
you had root before flashing this to say rom slot 1, you should not have lost root. Are you using OTA rootkeeper? Have you tried opening
it and toggling temp un root? Are all the boxes checked, specifically the one that says "root access gained"??
Typically, when I use OTA, i restore root, then go into SU update the app, then update binaries... after that I'm good to go.
Noob here..
I having some problems if i should flash these roms and i need to confirm the next steps that i think i should do (my device is already rooted)
I got a ICS Stock from Telcel and i want to get batakang but i was reading that you need to flash from a Jelly Bean ROM, so the question is what i need to do to get batakang...
Should i start unlocking bootloader??

Assuming that you're NOT on a dev unit... there will be no bootloader unlocking. If you're rooted, you need to install OTA rootkeeper, protect root, then unroot... install the JB leak from this forum in the stock android recovery. Reboot into the JB leak restore root, install safestrap... backup stock rom... create rom slot, restore backup to rom slot... flash batakang. Got all that??
^^ They are on telcel.. so that is XT925, don't think this ROM is meant for non Verizon models... Could be wrong.

Well this rom is compatible with both the RAZR HD and the Atrix HD, so I don't see why it wouldn't work.

But HD and ATRIX are both Verizon phones? I just know that CM10 needs a specific ROM for both XT926 and XT925 so there has to be a difference.

did you run into mobile data issues? when traveling around town sometime my mobile data cuts off.
I did at one time with an older ROM and Android version but seems to be fine now. Used to live in an area with really poor cell service so that was likely part of the issue.
Did you do a clean flash? The Asus Transformer guys developed a little script I always use called super wipe. Works great. With the phone I do a full wipe usually too then.flash the new stuff.
I am assuming none of you have T-mobile Wifi calling after the 4.4.4 upgrade. I really wish someone would port a kitkat rom for this phone with wifi calling enabled. hows the battery life after the upgrade?
You should add to this guide that although you will get mobile data, you will NOT get LTE. You will only be able to get 2G, 3G and HSPA+ but you will not get LTE using this ROM because it is not for the C6606.
Hi. Are you results confirmed? No LTE?

Yes, confirmed.
So after getting kk and no LTE.. If we use another ROM for c606 would we get LTE. Sorry I'm new to Sony devices and I still don't know how to door this thing I want to put cm12 on this because jelly beans on a Sony device seems bad
Sent from my C6606 using XDA Free mobile app
anyone has a tmobile c6606 with cm12 or 5.1.1 dirty unicorn if so how to install it on a 4.3 jelly beans stock lock bootloaders
I have LTE and I am on a C6603 rom. I get 2G, 3G, 4G, and LTE. I am also on Rajeevs last rom.
CM12 and the like are custom kernels. No customer kernels with locked bootloader.
I believe you are wrong on that. Initially with a stock T Mobile apn you will not have LTE. But after searching around I got it to work just fine but had to use a different apn than the one it would download. I will post the apn settings in a few in hopes it will help people. I run Existenz on my 6606.
Okay here is my apn settings. This is what worked for me as like I said the stock apn would drop out and do all kinds of dumb stuff.
Hi guys. I'm new to Sony. I have a C6606 and I want to flash either reeve or Existenz roms. My phone is currently running stock 4.3. What are the steps I needed to do before start flashing custom rom? Should I root first, install nut recovery then flash the rom or is there anything special I needed to know. Thank you.
I know this is older but I did this update and it updated me to the stock 5.0 Lollipop if anyone is interested yeah you lose Wi-Fi calling I've got LTE but its a price to pay to lose Wi-Fi Calling lol..

No those are H+ speeds. 4G LTE would be at least twice as fast.

Sadly, too much of a price to pay for me. I get the feeling our C6606 will be one of very few devices left behind.

I too used to have signal problems with this ROM. The network signal used to drop off within 2 minutes of rebooting the phone. I erased everything, flashed 4.4.4 NC2 stock tar using odin, installed safestrap again and then installed this rom. After installing this rom (and any mods you need), flash N900A_OC1_ALL_Other_Stock_Partitions.tar.md5 using odin from the custom rom section "Note 4 port 5.0.1 - DarkLord rom v2.2 N910F BOB4 by Samsungviet for N900A" (not allowed to post links since my no. of posts<10) and then boot into this rom, avoiding now the possibility of a modem conflict with NC2. It turns out that when you upgrade to this rom from NC2, for some reason, the baseband remains NC2 whereas everything else is upgraded to OC1 and so I think this was the reason for the network drops.
[Q] ~~~ Would anyone mind breaking it down in simple terms what I must do coming from rooted nc2 to get this rom installed... I have oc1 kernel... I have nc2 flasher... I just don't understand the concept I guess. Thanks in advance
New report everything still works great, but the LED light just keeps randomly blinking, anyone else having this problem?

Flash the nc2 flasher then without restarting it go straight to safestrap. Boot to recovery, clean 3 times everything but your exdrive, flash rom than kernal, reboot. Set your apn to att settings.
That's what I did, the only thing crazy is the LED flashing randomly.
Awsome rom! But is there any fixes for the camera (crashes while holding the focus) and NFC (not switched by togle) except the flash on / off in Safestrap?
First let say Thank you. I finally have a room that I can use the GPS with.
Now my problem is that I can not connect to my gear s the blue tooth connects and the a get the gear manager connecting to gear but it never connects..
Please help

The blinking led is in and out of data. I think wifi.
My new problem(s) my wifi keeps going on and off.
5 random reboots throughout the day.
Is download booster not working? I've been downloading and streaming and I don't see it being utilized.

I have the same rebooting issues after this flashing great rom.
My fix is to use Odin 3.10 to install N900A_OC1_ALL_Other_Stock_Partitions.tar.md5 at AP slot. Not sure if this is the case applying to others.
Here are my steps to refresh this wonderful rom.
I hope this can help.
1. Odin back to 4.4.2 . Then root with towelroot apk and install supersu and busy box.
2. install safestrap to wipe all data except sd card.
3. In safestrap, install DomPop_URv2.2.3_ATT_TEKHD.zip and SM-N900A_N900AUCUEOC1_KERNEL_Recovery-Flashable.zip

i noticed after a couple failed boots that if i reboot in airplane mode and wait till it is loaded it is fine after returning out of airplane mode. then everything works great. The phone reboots about 5 seconds after launcher starts if i don't. Anyone having a similar issue? I originally noticed that the crash would happen after the location icon appeared in the status bar,

U. powersaving mode
When I'm in ultra power saving mode my alarm clock don't work. Is there a fix for that? Other than that problem I greatly like the rom. Thank you so much
I'm absolutely loving this Rom so far. Great work. I've not seen Lollipop look this good!
So, many people mentioned the constant resetting. I too experienced that. Only after flash. It would load up, be fine a minute, then freeze and reset.
After a while, I dunno, half an hour? It stopped resetting and I've not had a problem since.
Had a problem with not connecting to the network for a while too... but once I got the APN sorted out and turned off the reporting thing in About, it worked fine.
So, question.
Anyone have a fairly comprehensive list of what is safe to freeze/remove out of this Rom as far as stock apps and such?

I agree, this ROM is very very nice. I had to manually enter APN, even though I had the box unchecked, but once I did that, everything else has been good, and battery has been nothing short of phenomenal. I usually get home from work with about 35% battery running Alliance, with this, I'm usually at 50 or more.
I have the same question about what to freeze/remove. I've blown away the flipboard stuff, Health, the gear stuff, everything seems to be OK. There's a whole slew of "samsync sync" stuff that seems like it oughta be able to go, every so often I freeze something, and see if I notice any problems. But I do the same 15 things with my phone every day, so I may not notice anything really bizarre, or some odd interaction.
Anyway, my compliments to the developer, this has extended the life of my phone significantly.

Fix for Netflix comes from TEKHD's thread in Tmo Note 4! One could try the build prop edit or go to System/Vendor/Lib. The file is called liboemcrypto.so, can be renamed to liboemcryto.so.bak or delete the file either way. One could do both options, so here is the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...tekxodus-n4-urv1-4-14-15-note4-t3082085/page5.
If you don't feel comfortable about doing system edits look here on XDA for Netflix v3.3.3. This was newest but older version I could get to work before I found the the correct fix in the above thread.
renamed liboemcryto.so and now Netflix is working fine !

To better consolidate the existing development for the Huawei Honor Note 8, I'm creating this thread to keep track of the available ROMs for this device.
As of right now, the only ROMs currently available are meant for the Chinese EDI-AL10 variant of the Note 8 and are listed in the Huawei forums (and subsequently in Chinese), so I've mirrored them on Google Drive for those who are interested.

The best and easiest solution would be to find the Google Play Store app in the HiApp store and just to install it from there,
but if you also can't find it in the HiApp store (I didn't), it may be that the Google Framework and supporting apps aren't installed.
Don't try manually sideloading anything or flashing any GAPPS ZIPs as nothing I could find ever worked without breaking Huawei's system apps
(things like using your navbar home button...).
I found this Chinese Google Installer meant for MIUI ROMs without Google preinstalled, and it worked perfectly for the BO22 system.
First you need to uninstall every Google component if anything is installed (I used Titanium Backup Pro),
then run the Google Installer app and let it install everything (EMUI may flag most of the installers as unverified, install anyway).
After that, reboot your device and the Google Play Store should work like a charm.

Thanks for the ROMs..Do comment which of the ROMs you have personally used, if any.

I'm currently using KangVIP, it works extremely well and offers an awesome variety of tweaks and settings to customize the EMUI interface. I'd test the other two as well, but I need my phone to stay usable at the moment as I'm a bit busy with work and classes...
Are Chinese and Huawei apps gone in these roms? Thanks for the thread. I love my Note 8 and maybe more with a custom rom
@benmeroff Very helpful thread. Might wanna add to the OP roms are for EDI-AL10 Chinese model of HHN8. If international version gets released - this EDI-AL10 roms collection will likely cause bootloops and soft brisks, if flashed to another version.

As these ROMs are actually Chinese-based (you can change to your language immediately in setup though), they all still contain at least most of the original Chinese and Huawei apps, and I have posted a guide on installing GAPPS for this phone as these ROMs do not include them.
Well thats not a problem. i have many Chinese and Huawei apps unistalled/frozen with Titanium backup. Also Phone manager app is ****, when that app is on i get no notifications.

Weird... I'd try redownloading the ROM ZIP, almost seems like the updater script is corrupted or something. Also, are you dirty flashing it or clean flashing it? I clean flashed it and had no issues, so if it still refuses to install I might try wiping first if you hadn't yet.

I'd definitely do a TWRP backup first so you don't leave yourself with nothing to boot into, then try flashing KangVIP again.
Have you found the stock rom download?
---------- Post added at 11:18 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:55 AM ----------
Rather odd.. did a factory reset in TWRP. Boots up & noticed my fingerprints are still stored in the phone. I wiped everything I could in TWRP but the storage & SD card. Did it twice with the same results & then a 3rd time with the KangVIP rom. They're still in there. What's up with that?
Anyone set the CPU/GPU in K Settings to Performance mode with KangVIP ROM and notice a less laggy experience?
I'm going to try it out for a few days. Normally Chrome is quite laggy and 3D game performance is poor compared to Snapdragon 820/Ardeno 530. I'm hoping it's just optimization issues and not limitations of the Kirin 955 chipset.
Back to the origin!

Hallo,
First of all thanks to benmeroff and the community for this job!
As a newbe, I messed up my new Huawei Honor Note 8, in an attempt to change the Chinese language to Italian or English, including the installation of these ROMs.
Again, as an ignorant on the matter, I thought that just unrooting the device and using an application, or a different ROM, would have solved my problem.
Doing these attempts I messed up everything, making several functions becoming unavailable, and I was very close to brick my Phone.
After two days spent to find a solution, and I found it in the same Chinese site where the ROMs are, they have the Original stock ROM for this device.
I don't know if I have the privileges to post the link here, but, If you want to have a look search the site with a post dated 2016-10-25 09:48:27 from "Pokemon".
I solved all of my troubles and I was able to return the device to its original condition, where OTA update is also available (after installation the device started the EMUI update on its own!).
Hope this helps all of you!

Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro! Help!!!

I recently bought this phone from a website that is from my country (Romania), not from China and i don't know if it has the latest firmware on it.It has Android 6.0.1 with android security patch level September 1,2016. If i check for updates,it doesn't find any. My baseband version is A9100ZCU1API2. What i'm trying to say is that i don't know if the guys from the website put on the phone a custom rom or not, because if they did there are chances that the phone will never receive software updates and that's my concern. For example, if i buy the phone from China, will it come with google services installed? Because my phone has google play store on it. I don't know if i should download the latest firmware from sammobile and install it with Odin, but the phone might have the bootloader locked or some other stuff and it can't install the firmware and i will be left with the phone bricked or stuck in dowload mode...What do you guys say, should i let it like this for a while and wait for android 7 maybe or it's fine to reinstall the firmware from sammobile? And if i reinstall the firmware will i have google services on it? Thank you!
If you have factory room, you should already got the notification about new FW, as API3 is ancient. I believe latest is AQB2 and Nougat room is in testing phase..
What's saying in Settings/About/SW info/Build number?

I attached a picture with my build number. My main question is if i can reinstall the firmware with odin and that i won't have any surprises...
It's newest build, and I believe it's factory default, so you'll get Nougat directly once it is out
SM-A9100
If i go to settings at the status device tab,it says Official....
I have one more question...Why i can't receive notifications from whatsapp,facebook/messenger, etc.... I think this is a problem on phones that come from China or don't have an international software support.... Is it because Google is not supported officialy on this kind of devices or what is the problem? Be for i got the A9, i had a Leeco Le Max 2 and it had the same problem with the notifications
You need to disable power optimization for these apps, this option pops up from time to time, or you can find it in smart manager, under power options or something. Can not give you exact location as we don't have same SW versions
SM-A9100
I don't have that option...i know what are you talking about but i can't find apps optimisation...
Hi Scrapperr,
Sorry to see you're having trouble with such a great phone
I've had the same issue you're describing - the software looks 'untouched' and 'legit' - but it's not, it has been tampered with, just check your Knox counter and you'll see what I mean (https://androidforums.com/threads/guide-how-to-check-knox-and-samsung-official-status.874951/).
App optimization is hidden in Settings / Battery / Detail - once you have the apps listed, select the app that has issues with Notification and go with 'App power saving' - 'Turned off'.
It probably won't work - unfortunately.
I ended up using t'shock's ROM - https://forum.xda-developers.com/samsung-a-series/development/rom-basicplus-1-t3587455 (BasicPlus) - very stable, good battery life, notifications working , but you might have issues with the SD cards - does not recognize cards larger than 32 GB and you might need to format them, in order to be usable with the phone.
If you go with the newest ROM available - listed on https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-a9--/SM-A9100/, you'll notice it does not have Play Store / Play Services and then you'll have to read https://forum.xda-developers.com/samsung-a-series/help/galaxy-a9-pro-chinese-how-to-install-t3388126
Good luck and enjoy using your phone
Hey, Megaurs, thanks for this light stock Rom proposal, somehow I missed it.
Just 2 questions, did you maybe tried Tungtata Rom in order to compare these 2, and what would be advantages of Basic room vs.Tungtata
And, if this Basic room is QB3, isn't it based on latest stock available?
SM-A9100
Hi Djurkash,
Testing Tungtata is on my ToDo list, will get to it eventually - if you get to try it, please share your experience
You're right, QB3 is the latest release, as per sammobile.com.
