Simply speaking ,it is a bootloader replacement(or a modified bootloader) by which u can install multiple ROMs and recoveries at same time.U can run a miui ROM,aosp rom,Ubuntu Linux and u don't need any patched kernel or a multirom recovery or multirom supported rom .And no need of confirmation if a ROM can be booted as secondary or primary ROM as there is no terms like that.

@deeps7515 @preetnoobie
Bootloader is the first thing that get loaded in the memory after the device starts. Once the bootloader gets loaded in the memory, it handles OS initialization, and the OS initiates only after that point.
The goal of this project is to generify the process of bootloading, so that any ROM or any kernel can be loaded into memory without any kind of modification at all, through some universal architechture. The technical details are vast enough and quite frankly, even I don't understand many of that.
TL;DR
It will make multibooting buttery smooth in our devices.

if i am not wrong .. now we can also install complete armhf based linux distros??

All variant....I think.... bcz all have snapdragon.

This would mean Sailfish can boot without modifications and possibly without breaking primary ROM. Exciting stuff

Well sadly, sailfish still requires some work to be done because of the hardcoded system.mount, and I directly jump into it after I publish the first beta. Right now, I'm experiencing some weird bug that apparantly noone has faced before, and that's why the build is taking longer than expected.
Stay tuned.

Excited..

No problem bro!
I want to download gapps from open gapps. This might sound kinda stupid but should I select the arm or arm 64 under the platform .....i know it's a 64 bit device but I was told to rather download the other one. I will be glad if this issue is clarified

We have to download arm marshmallow gapps and not the arm64 one. Although the device is 64 bit but all the roms are made according to 32bit ones. There are no 64 bit roms available for redmi 2.

All roms work on both 1gb or 2gb ram device. I am not sure about all the variants (HM2014811/13/17/18). [Confirm it before flashing]
I am running CM13.0 by kumajaya on 1gb variant. (HM2014818)

Project Treble

The S9 recently booted an android aosp rom (8.0) thanks to project treble ! Check this article : https://www.xda-developers.com/samsung-galaxy-s9-aosp-android-oreo-project-treble/
Will be interesting to see how much it is used.
I hope we get it too on older flagships ( S8, S7..etc )
I was the first one that booted it.
It was an adventure to get it to work. Lol.

In the Project Treble forum.
I assume once it's stable and bug-fixed, and any S9/+ specific problems are fixed, it'll be posted here.
They still have a few things to do ... but compared with the usual challenges, it appears to be a walk in the park.

[Request] Custom Kernel

I miss the days where you could easily see custom kernels for android phones.
Sigh... anyway, I'm not sure if this is the right thread to post this so feel free to move it in case ?
Now to the point... I understand we need to get the sources to even have any chance for this to happen. Does anyone know if this is in the foreseeable future or do we need to email or ask Huawei?
Kernel sources are already available but development on P20 pro is a bit ... sluggish.

@reppi - would you happen to have links for the sources?
I have been researching how to create my own kernel and most guides require me to have linux or such. Isn't there a way to do it via Windows 10?

If you want any of these roms to be official or 100% maintained I will be glad to do this , I have a really fast build machine (builds in less than 1:30 hours).

fingerprint does not work. the screen brightness is really very unstable. The extra features are really nice. but for now it's like an unstable version. I will not opt for daily use. Thank you for this work. I hope you can do better.
Very nice, will try this shortly, thanks to Op, cheers
Tried it.... Brightness is really broken.... Need a fix.... And sound cracks....
Will get better...

Although this device is A-only, you have to choose GSI for A/B devices because this device is "system-as-root".

General Android 12 GSI For Redmi Note 10 5G

Hello guys here i have Packed the Android 12 For Redmi Note 10 5G
* I'm not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed (like it did for me...).* YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.* Your warranty will be void if you tamper with any part of your device / software.
So what the purpose for me creating this thread, i just wanna to help certified developer to test their Application on Android 12 on Redmi Note 10 5G
WARNING : THIS BUILD IS FOR CHINA VARIANT OF REDMI NOTE 10 5G, Global is also work but the NFC may break.
I have given the installer on the tar.gz files and you can RUN it, But NO im not supporting windows here so only Use Linux for flashing if you're using windows to flash this build don't bother complaining to me for any problem otherwise
Anyway THIS BUILD IS FOR CERTIFIED DEVELOPER ONLY AND NOT INTENDED FOR DAILY USE
Pre requirements
1. Unlocked Bootloader
2. Have Ability to Save the Phone when the flashing failed.
3. Use Linux and install Latest driver from Google can be found here https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools firstly use sudo apt install fastboot then push the latest platform tools and then chmod it
Here the download files https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fTpVwcFA-aL5aJMyDAbIosrDdBwDe9b5/view?usp=drivesdk feel free to report if you encountered error on installer. But NO I won't help to fix bug on A12 since this is dev build
If you done that correctly you will enter recovery mode just wipe data and reboot
Anyway this is GSI i just simplified it for certified developer
Is this miui or aosp?
