Will a Lenovo P2 12V fast charger work for Note 4 - Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Accessories

Hey there guys
I am a audiophile who wanted to go for Lenovo P2 just for the sound quality it delivers through headphones. But due to my recent expenditure my budget has taken a hit and I don't think I will be able to afford it any more.
The other reason I wanted to go for it was because of it's fast charging capabilities. Redmi Note 4 runs the same Snapdragon 625, so I was wondering if I can use the Lenovo P2's original 12V charger to fast charge it. is it doable or will I be ruining the phone ?
Sometimes I still think I should still wait and just go for P2 its just that I just love my music ... But I love Xiaomi too, I have bought xiaomi phones for all my family members. I don't care about amoled display and stuff ... I just love quality music and good battery life and terrified of overcharging my phone through conventional slow chargers. (I never sleep with my phone on charge)

Sorry bro it won't work.....
The kernel of RN4 doesn't support fast charging(although the processor does)....
You will need to flash a custom kernel to enable fast charging just like radon kernel in case of RN3....

Did u buy lenovo p2 and does it have audio issues with headphones...
I am having sennheiser urbanite on ear with 18 ohm impedance.

it will not work and even if it is enabled it could damage the phone because the components of the phone were never specced/made to support quick charging.

This is the first time that I'm reading about "overcharging" your phone over night. I've been using smartphones for 7 years now and have charged them overnight about 90% of the time, save for those days with heavy usage when I ran out of juice in less than 12 hours. Care to explain what you're talking about?

OP, wait for 8.5 MIUI update. it is going to enable QC/fast charging mode.
625 supports fast charging but it was not enabled by MIUI. In latest update 8.5 it's going to work as per features mentioned. Check Mi 5 device. for reference.

But "Mi 5" is already quick charge 3.0 enabled at the beginning, comes with a fast charger plug out of the box.. Just look for the specs everywhere

But OP using Redmi Note 4 Snapdragon Mido version.
Also SD 625 supports quick charge but it's not enabled by Xiaomi in MIUI.

There was news earlier about MIUI 8.5 with fast charging support in MI forums. Also MIUI 9 coming in few weeks I don't know MIUI 9 will support fast charging or not.

You need to do some research regarding overcharging. Hopefully this article below will enlighten you.
https://www.google.com/amp/www.androidauthority.com/battery-myths-688089/amp/

Quickcharging isn't that good long term for your battery. While it's safe if it's supported officially for your phone, it really shortens the lifespan of your battery. The amount of cycles basically. It'll start to last less and less much faster than just charging it normally.
I know it's bad for Li-ion batteries, and I think it's even worse for li-polymers because they last even less cycles in the first place.

I think the battery will quickly heat up, and high temperatures could affect battery life. Just my perception, because by default R4X does not support QC 3.0
But I do not know if using mods are provided developers xda. Maybe it can minimize it.

OnePlus warp charge comparability ?

Does anyone know/Think that the OnePlus warp or warp charge 30 power adapter would work with the Realme X2 pro ?
I know it will not be as fast but I can get one for free from oneplus referral points and it would be UK 3 pin.
Realme says the phone is compatible with other charging technologies like quick charge.
I will test it with my Oneplus 6T charger once I receive the phone and of it works I will get another one from Oneplus

I need a UK adapter but have purchased one so will be using the vooc charge occasionally when needed,
As these batteries only have certain number of cycles I would prefer to charge the phone with something else on a daily basis.
I'm interested in maintaining the battery for a few years so would like to keep it somewhere in the 45 to 85 range which has worked well for me with all recent phones I've owned

I don't think it's necessarly bad for the phone but I don't trust it either. I have read in many reports it is quick charge compatable and I've heard that the OnePlus dash charge has worked also. I personally have no issue with these slower charge speeds and actually prefer them.
I will use the 50 watt in times I need it otherwise I will use the other ones
There is 2 batteries in the X2 pro and from what I understand the 50w is split between them both.... So it's more like 25w per battery as apposed to a single battery taking a full 50w. I personally wouldn't worry about it and enjoy the rapid charging.

Not necessarily, whether there's two or one battery, each will need to be maintained to some degree or they will degrade
I always charge it over the night with an old and slow adapter from my LG g4, if I need a boost, I use the vooc One, did the same with the previous huawei mate 10 pro for 2 years and battery is still as good as the first day [emoji6]

Xiaomi Mi A2 slow charging only

Bought a used Mi A2, that runs on the updated android one version.
I have tried a bunch of unnoficial power adapters, and all of them give only slow charge.
The strange thing is i tried my friends original Xiaomi adapter and it didn't even connected.
Im thinking about making a downgrade to android 9 or 8, what do you think?

not reason for fast charge problem ..try to enable Dev settings by tapping on build number in settings/about ...
then toggle fast charge to on in dev settings
*also if official charger is not working it means the battery is screwed or someone put cheap after market parts like bad replacement charging dock or cheap replacement battery

Does mi a2 really support QC3/4

I have read several topics about this and still doesn't understand. I was one step from buying QC3.0 from KUULAA before had a bit of test.
Im running pixel extended rom, that can show on screen charge info. The stock charger is out of question. I also have chargers from mi 4 and samsung s5e. And both of them showing 10W charging - 2.4A and ~4.5V. Then i got for test 2 more adapters - one from Pixel 4 and Redmi note 9 pro. They suppose to be QC3+, allowing 18+W charge. Yet - both of them showed exactly the same numbers ( tested with 10% battery).
So the main my concern - im not even talking about qc4, i didn't even saw that qc3 charge that suppose to be 18W, not 10W.
Maybe there is not support from rom? or is this support should come from kernel? Since sd660 allowing QC3/4 but it's own specs

Question S21 Ultra Exynos Heating Problem

Hlo guys, Hope you all are doing well.
I bought an S21 Ultra (Exynos) yesterday and it seems to be running hot even during normal usage. It heats up while I charge it (with a 33W Xiaomi charger) and it heats up even more (goes upto 43°C) while I am on a video call. I'm a little bit worried. Is this a faulty unit or just a software issue? Please help me out guys.

It will do that for a few days. I had the same experience on the first 2-3 days. But the heating issue went away after that. It will still heat up occasionally (just like any other computer) and especially when you do anything involving the camera. All the new apps are constantly writing info, building cache, etc - this should ease off once the initial intense activity has completed. Some heating is bound to happen when charging too.
The only things I would recommend changing for now are: If you don't use 5G or have poor coverage in your area, turn off 5G scanning from Connections setting. This seemed to help me with battery as well as heating. And FHD+ instead of WQHD+ resolution (at least till the heating issue is gone, and then you can play around with settings and see what you like)
My advice would be to just wait for a few days before doing anything drastic or trying to modify stock firmware. If not better by the end of the week, you can explore other options. The phone is just one day old. Just give the software some time to settle.
unfortunately thats just the way it is
am having the EXACT same issues and i had the phone since Feb so - not something that will go away unless Samsung fixes it

That's comforting to hear. Let me monitor it for another week. Should I continue using the 33W charger? Is S21 ultra capable of handling it? Or should I just buy the Samsung 25W charger? Thanks for the reply dude.

I haven't used the Mi charger. Tried with an old warp charger from OnePlus just for kicks and it doesnt super-fast charge the S21U. But that's becasue the propreitary fast charging standards used by different manufacturers are often incompatible.
After some research, I've found that the S21 ultra will not draw any more than 25 Watts of power (even if you use the Samsung original 45W charger). And even that 25W will work with only with a PPS (Programmable Power Supply) charger (USB C to C PPS) - like the 25W Official Samsung charger. There are a few 3rd party maufacturers that make PPS chargers, but I haven't used any of them. I just went ahead and bought the Samsung one, as there was a good discount on it.
Any other charger you use will only work as a slow charger, or a fast charger (15W max) at best if it supports Qualcomm Quick Charge (QC3) standard. For 25W Super-fast charging (it's anything but super-fast, but that's what Samsung insists on calling it) you need a PPS charger, and I would recommend going with the original 25W Samsung charger.

You're most welcome.
You can be unfortunate with any SOC in terms of die quality. Some people are simply SOL and end up with crap silicon which results in bad thermals and, if you're rooted, a restricted ability in overclocking or undervolting.
What people can't do is have a crap experience with the thermals on their S21 Ultra (or any other device) and talk as if it applies to every other device of the same model, as in post #3. It doesn't work that way.
one thing i did yesterday (btw may update did not fix the heating issue) was to disable the 5g - keeping in mind i live in an area where there is excellent 5g coverage)
as soon as i turned 5g off - the heating was gone, the battery life increased and the phone felt smoother
now this was also an issue last year on s20 - seems this year is the same
something about the 5g that makes the phone get really hot
try it and see if that works

Heating problem while charging is fixed after I started using the original Samsung charger. But I'm still experiencing problems with video calls A 20 minute video call (through Microsoft Kaizala) increases the temperature to 45°C I'm not sure what's the problem. I have turned off 5G as well.

As I'm still experiencing problems with temperature going up in video calls, is there anyway to log the cpu usage and thermals? Maybe that would help in finding out the culprit. The battery life is not that great either. I can't figure out how much SOT I'm getting since the battery page still shows "Learning usage patterns".
i think the heat during video calls is another issue - that is triggered by the actual video processing - i think you will notice if you turn the camera on for shooting a video (not live video calls) you will notice instant heating - i think that is also what is causing this - both frontal and rear cameras have huge sensors and the phone must do a lot of work to compress the live videos + data connection/wifi used during the video
i dont know the culprit but is defo related to the same issue why when taking loads of photo or long vids the phone get super hot
i mean i turn off my video during a call and the heating goes down pretty fast
all in all - it seems the same issues that plagues s20 exynos are still present in the s21 exynos - so not sure what improvements they made cz honestly is as bad as last year!!!
Hey guys, i live in Kuwait and now temps are reaching 45-50°.
I don't expect the device to cool itself and i try as much to avoid using it outdoors or in my car (i have a ****ty AC)
Otherwise while at home and gaming it never exceed 40° ever.
If you dig deep into when you are using and where you will notice.
5g also drain and push temps up waaay to much.
Volte is also a factor.
Btw these are in all phones not only the s21u.
Don't be fooled guys and don't hate the ohone, it's a phone with soo many things and features running simultaneously, it has no fans and no cooling except for the paste lol.
That's my way of looking at it, i might be wrong.
Btw my sister's iPhone 12promax does the same and reach hot temps when used out and camera together.

That learning usage patterns will take a few days before it starts showing data.
For thermal logging and control you can use the Samsung Labs module called Thermal Guardian. If labs app is not available in your country, download finelock from play store and get it from there. Search for appx video on thermal Guardian on YouTube for installation details
Guys 40+ something temps are nothing. Just put on a cover, relax, and enjoy the warm beast your phone is.
There is a direct relationship between the amount of power used by a processor and its clock frequency. The higher the performance, the higher the power consumption and heat generated.
Samsung is teaming up with AMD on an improved SoC which is reported to make it's debut on the S22. Hopefully this will eliminate the ongoing defencies with the Exynos SoC.

Look in settings to see if your phone is set to reboot once a day. If it's not, then you have a hardware problem.
