Hard Bricked - OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers

I just received my new Oneplus 3T which is replacing a Oneplus 3 that I dropped. I was attempting to install LineageOS with root so that I could restore all of the things that I like from my 3 which was also running Lineage. The install went fine but when I went to restart it the phone turned off and will not turn back on. I followed all of the advice in the Hard Brick Guide but I cannot get the phone to display as Qualcomm 8009 or what ever. Before you ask yes I followed the extra instructions as well. I can start the recovery tool but it always hangs on the Sahara Communication Failed error no matter what I do. I never had an issue like this with my 3 and want to get this sorted.
Thanks in advance.

Can you get to TWRP and just do a restore of stock room?

Uninstall ALL android and cellphone drivers, then reinstall ONLY the Qualcomm drivers that came with the post.
I had the exact same issue, after removing the Android, adb, and oneplus drivers, and installing only the Qualcomm drivers it loaded the rom right onto the phone and booted up without a hitch.

Hold in power button till phone is detected

I am going to try this. I'll report back with the results.
Edit: Deleted Qualcomm drivers and ADB but cannot seem to find the OnePlus drivers. I am still getting the same error as well.

[Q] no cwm recovery , Odin not finding device after ics rom flash fail

Hi all , i hope someone can help : i was installing team hacksungs ics rom last night it seemed to be going ok at first but then got stuck at the animated splash screen (1 hr 45 mins) i pulled the battery and when i tryed to get into cwm recovery the phone keeps just bootlooping after showing google logo , i can get into download mode but neither odin or heimdall can find my phone and windows reports unrecognised usb device, heimdall reports- ERROR: Failed to access device. libusb error: -12. I have unbranded i9000. All drivers present and usb cable(s) checked and are ok....thanks in advance for any help
I have the exact problem and situation
Is the phone bricked for good?
You might need the drivers listed in the TH ICS thread. Before changing the drivers try plugging your phone into a different USB port
You might want to try a different computer, the libusb errors are common and are usually solved by using a different computer (I have seen those errors while flashing IPhones, they were resolved after reformatting or using another computer[I'm not saying that that is the only way of dealing with libusb issues, I just didnt bother with em after I found out that a fresh start/system fixes em]). Also, if you are into linux, try a linux distro on your computer and see if Heimdall works from there.
Good Luck
guys i have had the same problem on this phone. To be honest I am not sure I wanna stay on ics anymore alone because of this issue. Nothing wrong the phone is great but the driver problem is flat out pathetic when **** hits the fan.
Here is how I solved my problem. I installed and uninstalled and restarted my PC so many many times. Stuck my USB cable into multiple ports. If that didn't solve my problem i Installed and uninstalled the Samsung drivers (without kies).
Played around with device manager when it said the phone is not recognized by uninstalling and removing phone from USB cable and replugging . I installed the android sdk USB drivers and tried upgrading the not properly installed drivers with them (which I think hasnt helped much to be honest) .
All in all what I am trying to say is......that I was so ambitious trying to get it to run that at the end i got it to work after many many tries. With many tries I mean I was trying this repetitive process from 3 am to 7:30 am and it DID NOT WORK. I went to bed. Next day I tried fixing it using repeating the whole process from 5 pm up to around 830 pm.
I dunno how I got it to run at the end. All I know is the time I invested trying to get it to run were nearly 10hours of repetitive installing and uninstalling. Sadly that is the only tip I can give you. It seems to me as though it just randomly feels like working out of its ass.
I even brushed the USB port of my phone with alcohol and a brush. As mentioned above trying another PC is worth a try. I tried my sister's laptop without success though and even formatted my desktop for the sake of it.
The last thing I recall doing before getting this phone to get recognized on my PC was as follows: I charged it for an hour and then booted the phone in download mode and decided to try it again. And bam it worked.
But do give this method a try.
1. Plug phone to PC
2. Uninstall your device(exclamation mark) via device manager and then unplug your phone
3. Uninstall sgs drivers
4. Reboot PC
5. Install sgs drivers
6. Plug phone in download mode in again
7. If you get error, device not installed properly then open device manager and uninstall the exclamation mark again
8. Unplug phone once uninstalled.
9. plug it in again
Also guys, just out of curiosity what is your OS and is it 32 or 64 bit?
Good luck
P.s: I know this post isn't helping specifically but I believe the only solution is playing around with the drivers and device manager until it decides to work. I might install another rom (Ive only experienced this with ics so far. And this seems to be a common issue apparently. Does this happen to people on 2.3.x as well ?) tomorrow cause this issue is too time consuming should it occur again. Only had it with nushor kernel though.
.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
many thanks

Hi vytman , install the drivers from here : w w w.multiupload.com/BUCFT8M42N
the drivers allow your comp to recognise your device(which is now nexus after ics install) then you can reflash stock samsung firmware in odin .
u can't get into recovery at all?

I was unable to download the file...i am having the exact same problems and your solution seems logical. i tried going online and just searching for a nexus driver but that didnt seem to work. I think it might have been an old version of the driver. Is there a way for me to get this driver?

[SOLVED] Soft brick D405n need a little help.

Rooted LG D405n, nothing done to the software beyond that (unless you count having zooper/nova launcher configured on it). Gave the phone to a friend for a short while and she decided to update the software using the LG software update on the phone. After she selected install on the latest update which came out not long ago and was supposedly going to update the apps, it restarted and got stuck on boot screen with Boot Ceritification Error [560].
I've tried this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-l90/general/guide-flash-stock-kdz-offline-lg-l90-t2803479 but I got stuck on step 4. because I cannot make the PC recognize the device (it does not show up at all), so the LG tool can't install USB drivers. If i try to do it manually (it gives me an option to select a device from a list) it doesn't seem to do anything, just gets stuck on the Downloading USB driver window.
I can put the phone in Firmware Upgrade Mode just fine, but it doesn't seem to do anything useful. The PC still won't recognize the device, however I can hear the 'usb pluged in' sound (I'm on Win7).
Did a factory reset, didn't help.

You could try the LG Support Tool. Not sure it will work but it's worth a shot. The problem with the phone not getting detected by the PC is the fact that 1) The OS was upgraded by your friend and 2) The factory reset you performed . Both of those acts would have disabled USB debugging hence no device detected.
I unfortunately have no encouraging information to give you.

It appears that I have fixed it.
Since The tool would not download the USB drivers by itself I went to the LG website and got them manually, installed them and restarted the PC.
After that I launched the LG Mobile Support Tool, but it still didn't see the device.
However, I clicked Options and Upgrade Recovery. It asked me for my IMEI. I put the phone into Firmware Upgrade mode and the program started upgrading the phone.
After it was all done, the phone restarted, and the software update simply said that instalation failed, I have lost root but everything else seems fine. Rooted again with towelroot and I'm back in game.

ACE S5830 hardbricked, drivers are not getting detected.

I just hardbricked my S5830 while trying to install cwm.
Actually I tried to install cwm without rooting the phone, and when i checked after this the phone was not going to recovery even samsung default recovery was gone.
Now there was no way through phone to install cwm. So i tried to factory reset the phone. My bad luck, phone is not getting on now.
The problem I am facing now is I am not able to use odin as drivers are not recognising the phone. It always gives drivers malfunctioned error. Even for the adb drivers too.
Has anybody faced this issue?
It is going to download mode. But in pc it is not recognising the phone. I installed all the available drivers.. But still the same.
Thank you in advance.

Have a look in the rooting and troubleshooting threads.
If odin isn't recognising your phone then:
1/ drivers for "download-mode" not installed properly.
2/ phone is not actually in download-mode.
3/ usb cable or pc usb port is faulty.

I am glad you replied.
I think the drivers for download mode has not installed properly.
I searched in rooting and trouble shooting, couldnt find the proper drivers which detects. Even i installed windows 7 as someone mentioned in some thread. Still nothing worked.

1/ All I can suggest is install drivers/ odin as administrator. Windows should detect running phone with "ding-dong" even in wrong mode.
2/ remove phone battery for 20 secs.
3/ replace battery.
4/ press and hold down home button, down-Volume & then press power for 4 secs, then release power.
5/ keep holding home and down-Volume (about 5 more secs) until screen flashes and "downloading" is displayed.
6/ release buttons, plug phone to pc, flash stock rom with odin.

USB Driver Issues

Hi, I'm having issues with XZ2 Drivers.
I'm a noobie trying to do a wipe of my phone back to stock, using Newflasher and Xperifirm.
When I try to flash with Newflasher, I get the "Incorrect function" error, and from what I've read from previous posts on the newflasher thread, it is because I am missing drivers.
The issue is, there are no drivers that I can find that work with the phone when I try to install them, and zadig can't put in custom USB drivers in for me.
I've tried installing gordongate drivers, but they don't seem to work.
My phone model is H8216.
Any help will be appreciated

After a couple of days of attempts, I have achieved a successful flash.
Unfortunately, another problem arose.
When I load into stock firmware, I'm only allowed to make emergency calls, and there's text on the bottom of the screen that says: "Simcard is Locked".
Does anyone know why that might be?
I was using Xiaomi USB Drive it was working fine but after a few flashing files for my Redmi note 9, my pc was not able to recognize my device. Then I have installed the latest Mi USB drive that is still working fine so if you want to download drives so you can also download from here. I hope it will help you out! also, you can download the latest Fastboot file from Mi.com

[Solved!] [OnePlus 8 Pro] Problems with OOS 11.0.4.4.IN11AA

I have a OnePlus 8 Pro running Oxygen OS 11.0.4.4.IN11AA. Upon installing Magisk, I can no longer turn Wifi on. I have tried restarting, clearing the cache from recovery, resetting network settings, basically all the things the "wifi wont turn on help pls" guides say to do. Mobile data and bluetooth work absolutely fine, so what's going on?
Sound is also non-functional. Even after plugging in earphones (which worked with this phone previously) nothing comes out, and the phone doesn't even seem to recognize them. I also noticed that after a reboot the volume controls are set back to the defaults.
Additionally, the system is very slow to start up and the screen stays black until after the unlock prompt (which displays over the black screen) and then the wallpaper and everything else loads. (after which the device is responsive as normal)
These problems occurred even without installing any modules or otherwise modifying the device. I'm using the latest version of Magisk, 22.0 (22000).
I originally tried to make a GitHub issue, but it was closed by the bot since I didn't follow the template GitHub never showed me. Also, us non-canary users experience issues too. [mini-rant over]
Sorry if this is a duplicate, the search system appears to be malfunctioning since the updates.
The Fix!
Looks like I'm solving all my problems today. I had a hunch that the culprit was the boot.img which I downloaded--it was corrupt. So I went to OnePlus' site and downloaded the OTA package, extracted the boot.img from that, and flashed it through fastboot. When I rebooted, I was greeted with the beautiful almost old-IOS charging sound, and Wifi!! That boot was quite speedy too!
Hi could you explain how did you reboot your phone i have totally same problem...i tried msm download tool but i cant get my device to show there....could you please tell me how did you put OTA package into phone ? thx
FIXED!
in the end I was able to use MSM Download tool....i just had to manually download Qualcomm drivers so that my phone can be recognized. After that MSM worked and rebooted my phone totally clean. Gosh not gonna root for a while now XD
PS: More fun is that my Windows PC wasn't connected to internet so i had to download everything on my macbook and through USB stick I was bringing all app to Windows.....longest 6 hours of my life

From fastboot, use the volume keys to select Power Off and then press the power button once. Make sure the phone is unplugged while doing this. Then, with the MSM tool ready on your computer, hold down both buttons on your phone and plug in the cable from the phone to the computer. It should automatically boot into EDL mode, and MSM should say Connected.

When I had to do this I didn't connect the device to the network since I don't trust Windows 10 not to open a billion ports up and use my infrastructure for Microsoft's business. Copying to and from a crappy 2.0 drive sucks!
