adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img

Probably, hopefully. I don't know if lg added signature verification to their .tot files with the g6 or not. I would assume not

If you search through the g5 bounty thread, you will find that someone, can't remember who, took his g5 to a shop where they had the box to pull a stock .Tot file and went from there. I would suggest getting a small bounty together to him, if he even has the g6. The stock g6 tot file is where to begin. I have the v20 so I haven't kept up

You can try this from the official LG site http://developer.lge.com/resource/mobile/RetrieveBootloader.dev?categoryId=CTULRS0702 it's not meant for the G6 but you can try it

I believe there is sig verification now. But that doesn't mean game over.. just has to be bypassed.
It's a shame that tmobile allows bootloader unlock but removed fastboot flash/boot commands.. therefore requiring a bug to be burned just to get TWRP flashed.

Tmobile H872 G6 doesnt have root yet and will only have root once they have a method to get TWRP onto the device. Fastboot boot/flash commands are disabled so it will take an exploit of some sort to get TWRP flashed to the recovery partition.
The only other G6 device that will have root is whatever device LG adds to the official bootloader unlock list which can be found here: http://developer.lge.com/resource/mobile/RetrieveBootloader.dev?categoryId=CTULRS0703
Currently there is no G6 model added to that list.. but over time they may add a model or two. The models added to the bootloader unlock list will be the models to get for proper bootloader unlock, TWRP and root without jumping through hoops like the Tmobile H872 variant does.
For all the other G6 variants without bootloader unlock (att, verizon, us cellular, canadian, australian, south american, korean, chinese, etc..), a new root method of some sort would be needed but there is nothing public yet. Once a public root arrives and if a debug bootloader image is leaked (like the LG V20) then other G6 variants might be able to have an unlocked bootloader allowing TWRP and permanent root.
The LG V20 used the dirty cow bug to gain temp root to obtain privileges that allow the debug aboot img and TWRP img to be flashed. Dirty Cow bug has been patched in the G6 so a new root method will be needed.
Just laying out all the current info to this date. I have no plans to work on any of this as I do not have the device.

Good info Autoprime! Hopefully LG will enable fastboot commands after a future update like they did on the G4.

There is no guarantee we will get root, either. Since we don't have fastboot commands.

I have a locked bootloader atrix HD with cwm based recovery and its rooted. If when the Ota update releases will I be able to just accept it or will it brick my device if I accept it. Thanks for the help
It will not get bricked but you might loose the possibility to unlock the boot loader in the future as right now the person who made exploit is not available for future developing or hacking

Like SVLAN said, you will not be bricked, but your bootloader will most likely become locked. To avoid locking the bootlader, wait for someone to update, pull everything, then flash it in fastboot.

Which version are you running? AT&T, Mex Retail, or Bell? And if you take the update, it will overwrite the recovery with stock. If you fastboot the update, you don't have to overwrite it.

You will almost definitely get the update, but if you want to keep the unlocked bootloader, don't take it. There's really no chance of us getting our bootloader getting unlocked again, so if you plan on ever flashing a custom ROM anytime in the future, don't take the update.

[Q] Rooting for the user experience

Hi yall.
I'd like my device to have the purest user experience possible. I've just uptaded my phone to Lollipop, and I'm looking after 2 features:
-google dialer and messenger app (found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/themes-apps/lollipop-google-dialer-messenger-t2940395)
- auto rotate on lock screen and home screen as well (I know it's just an option to toggle in the system)
These 2 things require root. However, I'd like to keep my warranty.
Do you think it's possible to root it, do these 2 things, and unroot it again (while obviously keeping the modifications)???
Thanks a lot,
Roumaru
Afaik, as of now there's no way to keep your warranty when rooting your phone. It can only be done by unlocking the bootloader first, which leads to an irreversible flag.
I'm sitting in the same boat.
Can you please explain how to root the moto g 2014 with lolipop 5.0.2 in germany ? can i just take the root tutorial for 4.4.4 or would it break my phone?

There is no way to unlock the bootloader and keep your warranty unless you bought it and live in the EU. EU regulations don't allow a loss of hardware warranty just because of software modifications.
Ok thanks

Just a very condensed version because there isn't any difference (except latest twrp is necessary):
1. Follow Motorola's instructions to unlock the bootlader.
2. Flash TWRP 2.8.5 with fastboot.
3. Flash latest SuperSU with TWRP.

Read this very carefully, at least twice from start to finish. Make sure to read the whole thread, not just the OP.
Then, if you think you understand everything, proceed at your own risk.
Rooting, bootloader unlocking, etc. is for advanced users only. You have to know what you're doing, else you're going to mess it up.
Just one thing regards the app you wanna...
Google dialer... The default dialer of android stock 5.0.2 is not google dialer?
I don't see the difference, if is different some one let me know.
If the priv-app is from android 5.x.x it may not work on android 4.4 or any under 5.x.x
Google messenger app, it can be installed via play
Be very careful in flash a dialer app, because one time I've done it (not that app from that thread) and I could not open the dialer app, or received call... I had to flash the rom again...
again... If the priv-app is from android 5.x.x it may not work on android 4.4 or any under 5.x.x..
the two applications of that thread are priv-app.

The final decision on that depends on your carrier. If there are multiple carriers there, it's possible that some have it and some don't.

Hi.
So I bought this xt1097 AT&T branded.
I would like to keep only one feature from T-Mobile and it's WiFi calling. Rest of the phone can be stock Motorola.
Is it possible to flash any ROM that would have T-Mobile WiFi calling?
Oh the phone is 5.1 already.

[ROM] MM 20i Stock & Debloated ROM's + Global MM 20e Stock Rom's

Here are some stock Marshmallow ROM's for T-Mobile H811 LG G4.
Thanks to Autoprime and xTEE for their respective KDZ's and Chainfire for his SuperSU root.
20i=T-Mobile USA
20e=Europe Global
Global rom is NOT sim unlocked. Only T-Mobile can sim unlock your phone.
Prerequisites:
**Must be on MM and OEM Unlocked per Autoprime's method found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-g4/development/stock-h811-20i-images-kdz-flashable-t3308227
**Must be on H811 G4 or you will brick flashing to wrong partition. You've been warned.
Flash from TWRP.

Thanks for the brilliant job you do. I have a question that might be considered stupid, but I'll take the risk. I bought my G4 a few weeks ago, from a random bloke and out of the USA, and now it turned out to be SIM locked. Would this ROM somehow help? Thank you again.

I would flash it over the 10N bootstack but I haven't gotten a definitive answer as to whether MM will work with the 10N bootstack.

Some people like to use the Global ROM to be free of anything T-Mobile related. Its just another alternative.

I believe the difference is that 20i was altered by tmobile to their specifications and then pushed out to the 811s. 20e is untouched by tmobile and was intended for the European 815 models. Micromod got 20e running for the 811s incase people didn't want something that came from a carrier (spyware, bloat, featureset etc). Both versions should essentially run the same.. Same core features same ui same camera etc.

Yes I know you have 20E on 811 since you are in USA, but if it fixes something in the rom it should ben right for 20D and 20E maybe... (hopefully)

I'm currently running your debloated 10n. I'd like to upgrade to your debloated 20i. My phone is telling me it has downloaded a system update (presumably 20i; I'm on T-Mo US). Is my best path to install the OTA, to use Autoprime's 20i upgrade, or to flash straight to your debloated 20i?
Thanks for all the great work!

I believe you need to upgrade to 20i first, before flashing this rom. You need the stock firmware which you can obtain through the autoprime thread and then install TWRP and flash MicroMod's rom and everything should be running smoothly. If you run into any issues just search in the autoprime thread as most people have had similar problems and resolved it. Goodluck!
Is there a chance of losing sim unlock? I bought an unlock service from eBay, I'd hate to re flash a locked boot stack lol
It says the rom is rooted yet it doesn't seem to be. What's the best way to root this rom, flash supersu?

@mrbox23 There should be NO chance of losing SIM unlock, if you do somehow I would contact your seller and tell them you upgraded to MM and in doing so you lost it. 2 things - 1. you shouldn't have so their system is flawed and they should appreciate knowing it if they are at all reputable, and 2. you shouldn't have so they should be willing to do it again for free. However if you are at all worried about them, and you've already left feedback to the positive, I would contact them first and see what they say their policy is. at least then you know what your risks are.
Is there a list of what is exactly "debloated"

Unlock the bootloader on the LG V40 thinq by demanding an unlock code from LG.

I now have an officially unlocked LG V40 thinq even though it is NOT on their official list of supported devices. I bought a LMV405EBW, (Australian version) naively thinking it was a supported device. To me, if it had the same model number it should be treated as unlockable. When i asked LG why NONE of their phones sold here could be officially unlocked but their 'European' versions could they couldn't provide an answer except say that my version wasn't supported. Nor could they provide any reason WHY it wasn't supported..
Eventually LG relented and provided me with an unlock code. Which raises the obvious question of if they can easily and quickly provide me with an unlock code why can't they do that across the board?

But doesn't the buying public have a right to know this information? Again, I ask why one version can be unlocked officially but not others?
Is there any unofficial methods to unlock boot loader of LG V40 THINQ LMV 405 Indian version since it is not officially supported to unlock bootloader

Okay, well here's what I'd suggest. If you run into problems wit that guide, post the problem in that guide. That way people who have done it can help. When you post you had an issue in some different thread, it's very possible that those that have had success doing it aren't going to read the other thread, and thus you end up with no help.
I can tell you I've done it, I know it works, but there are some hurdles you have to get over, like working with windows and qfil, getting windows and adb and fastboot to work, which means installing the right drivers for windows, which can be a pain...
but, the help you need is in that thread, not here.
I will try all those steps in thread & share to you soon
I could not find proper USB Drivers for LG V40 THINQ & I am unable to enter fast boot mode or EDL mode . Pls help me
