Just manually flashed the Android Wear 2.0 on my LG watch urbane at first it was slow and laggy and but then a day or two later it straightened itself out and it was like butter.
And the purpose of this topic is?
Mine is still really laggy after about 4 days.
Mind is unusabley lethargic.
Same here. A great smartwatch has become effectively useless since 2.0. Can't even answer calls on it anymore for cryin' out loud!
My watch was incredibly laggy and had terrible battery drain too. Today I did nothing different besides turning WiFi off and the lag is gone and the battery is similar to 1.5. (Which sucks since I used WiFi quite a bit, but at least the watch is usable.) I'm going to reenable WiFi tomorrow to see if the lag returns.

I just turned wifi off and the difference is night and day. Thanks, because I thought I was going to have to find a way to get 1.x back.
The UI is fluid most of the time, notifications come without delay but functionality seems to be down. I think Google has messed up Android Wear. Needs another major update imo.

Weird that it's seemingly such a randomly different experience for each user. My UI is laggy as hell, and the notifications only seem to show when they want to! It does vibrate when receiving them but either shows nothing (leaving me to swipe up to see what it is) or auto-pops up and takes up my whole watch face! Yet if I receive a phonecall, I'm lucky if my watch acknowledges it at all! Maybe, in 2 out of 10 tries?!
... Which leads me into completely agreeing with the downturn in functionality. On the couple of occasions my watch had picked up that I'm receiving a call, it only gives me the option to hang up! (Making my paid for Wear Speaker app effectively useless.) No way to answer from the watch at all. Same goes for notifications. Email for example, I can delete, archive or reply (all on the watch only) but I can't just tap to open it on my phone like I used to be able to! YouTube video subscription notifications are just that... Notifications! As the only option is to add to the watch later list. No option to open on the phone. Nothing!
Basically, it's great that they've added functionality that enables you to use the watch without the phone... But not at the expense of cutting out the phone completely! It still needs the phone to function fully, and is STILL only a companion product to go with a phone! I seriously don't understand how they've managed to screw this up so badly even after all the delays??! ?
It is weird because enough people report your experience for it to be just in your head. My was slow for a few hours but then sped up and is nice and at least as fluid as 1.5.
I did reboot and that didn't help. Factory reset made a huge difference.
Any ideas how to downgrade? My watch is practically usless... I hate the new update they've removed every single thing that made this watch remotely usefull
Yeah this update sucks on the urbane, everything takes much longer and isn't smooth... Good timing for me since I'm getting back into shape I bought a Fitbit charge 2 and will sell the urbane if it's worth anything.. I would like the Movado Wear watch but I'll make sure it's also not underpowered before purchase..

How can I install an apk in the watch? Untill now installing it on the phone was enough, but with 2.0 release it seems that you can only install programs with the play store installed on the watch. I suppose with adb I will able to install apks but does anyone know an easier method?

In the settings on the watch there is an option for something like 'apps on phone' where you can select which apps you want to be installed from the phone instead of automatically like in 1.5. It may be an option in the Play store on the watch. I don't have 2.0 yet, waiting for my Urbane 2nd Edition update, but I've read about it.

Exactly!!! You can find an option in the watch Play Store called apps on phone where you can download into the watch the apps you need.

Yeah, that option is missing now. Currently swiping down, tapping the sun symbol and then the watch-sysbol in the middle below seems to be the only way.
But at least after I did a factory reset of the watch yesterday and paired it again with my LG V10 the watch runs much smoother than before. Truth be told I have not installed all applications yet I was running on the Urbane before (like Watchmaker for example) but I will install one after another and check if the lags I had before reappear.
Mine had AW 1.1 out of the box. Upgraded to 2.0 and it was unusably laggy. Even tilt-to-wake was very delayed. "OK Google" would take over 10 seconds for assistant to come up.
My watch too has become barely useable. Google assistant can sometimes take upwards of 20 seconds to load. And there is a huge delay on my notifications, I don't even receive notifications for calls. Android wear 2.0 has definitely ruined my watch, which is sad because I love using assistant on my phone to control my Philips hue lights.
Did anyone contact LG or Google about this problem? Android Wear 2 made my device useless after just 1,5 years. That's unacceptable!

Hey all,
I was wondering if any of you have seen the heart rate and pedometer stop working all together. I have not rooted, rom'ed or done anything to this watch yet.
I have also tried reseting the device, powering it down and attempting the reading with both the google fit app and samsung heart rate app. Neither work and neither will turn on the green light that indicates the heart rate monitor is working.
Any ideas? I also have been having problems, like others, with random disconnecting and ok google commands failing to work.

You can say "start fit", or navigate to the start menu select the fit icon manually
Yes, yesterday I realised that despite running around after people at work all day I had actually managed 0 steps. Today has had a similar work load and once again I seem to have been floating serenely around the department.
I get two sets of data for step count the Note 3 says 10k
Run "Fit" it tells me 7000 steps?
The step count on the Gear Live just started acting up.
For those having issues with the step counter did you guys use facer or something similar and add the step count? I noticed mine acted up after I added it to face. Nothing short of reseting the watch would fix it either

I'm using facer, but not to display the step count, only the time & date.
Having the same issue, where steps count stays at 0, and heart rate monitor doesnt even light up. I tried resetting the device, then tried to use HRM before any apps are installed, but still no luck.
I think it started after installing a watchface (devops time). But the problem is still there after factory reset, so I dont think its the app's problem.
Still looking for solution..

Just turn off your watch and wait a few seconds, then turn it back on. (restart doesn't work)

With a GPe HTC One M8 (KitKat, stock) and a Samsung Gear Live, I found that my step counter stopped working when I installed Google Fit. Lots of tricks (including uninstalling 3rd party watch faces and powering off) didn't work. Uninstalling the Google Fit app fixed my problem.
Was very annoyed to find this on the Google Fit Help - Fit isn't tracking activities correctly: If you have an HTC One M8, your phone may be incompatible with Fit.
Can't tell from the help page if this is referring to the step counting built in to the M8 or something more fundamental to the Google Fit app.
For those experiencing lost steps with Google fit, there is an issue if you ate taking steps with the watch while the phone isn't moving. In any instance where the watch and phone step counts disagree the phone takes precedence.

Do you know if they are going to fix this? This has not always been the case. It used to sync with my watch and grab those steps. Why the other way around?
I am intersted in the LG watch but I am an iPhone user, I know they will not talk to each other, however what functions work on the watch when not connected to an Android phone. Will it still track steps and will the time and date function work.
I have no interest in the notifications etc, just looking for a watch with activity tracking and nice round customisable face.

Exactly using this device as you wanted. Not interested with the notification or so. You can use every function without a phone just like a watch. However you need an android phone time to time. For example, if the battery of the watch dies, it loses time so you need to connect it to phone to sync. the time. If you can manage to keep it up before battery dies it works like a charm.
Keep in mind that you need an android device paired for first boot up(You can do that with a family or friend android device or with a cheap android tablet). Also remember you can only pair the watch with one phone. If you wanna pair it with an another phone you need to reset the device which wipes everything up and take to watch to initial setup.
As a watch i loved lg g watch r. It blends like a real watch and great for outdoor events. I went to a ski resort and as a amateur skier i felt a lot with snow all over my wrist and watch, held up great. Since the screen is led based, screen does not become sluggish at cold weather as a liquid based display which loses it's viscosity and become sluggish.This watch without a phone fully recommended.
Battery dry or shutdown. As soon as all LG Wear watch are shutdown they lost hour and need an phone to sync time. Very annoying

"Watch too slow" is a pretty generic statement. It's like "my computer doesn't work".
I've found the ZW3 to be pretty zippy, much faster than the Moto 360. What exactly are you doing that is "slow?"
maybe it was still in the first time synchronization process?
sometimes, especially if you use custom complex watch face, it can be slow.
but most of the time, it's zippy.
Mine was snappy...ever since it updated to the new firmware last week it's been really laggy. I factory reset with no changes...kinda disappointed

How was Your battery life --> before update (when it was snappy) ?
I think Lagg also kills battery.. as mine lasts only 7h..

Was about the same thing...I made my battery last longer by setting the "Tilt to wake" option off tho
Battery is much better now
Find it in the Android Wear app > top corner gear > device settings
Same for my Zenwatch 2. Some Watchmaker face are unusable because too slow ?
I wonder if Asus do not use only 1 core of the processor to save the batterie ?

I've been having a similar issue. Randomly, the watch will suddenly start to lag and will remain horribly laggy until I reboot. Then it will be fast for maybe a couple of hours, or even a couple of days, and then without warning it gets laggy again. Originally I thought it was happening only with Watchmaker faces but I've since uninstalled it (along with all third party watch faces), and I'm finding the exact same thing happens with Asus watch faces as well. I've factory reset and it made no difference. I did not experience this prior to the latest firmware update, but it's hard to say definitively that it was the cause.

Mine only gets laggy if I have "always-on screen" turned on. I don't know why it does that...

Exactly the same for me. That seems to be the one setting that makes a difference for the lag I'm experiencing. For me, even toggling Theatre Mode on and off will speed up the watch immediately after. But if Always On is on, it will proceed to eventually lag again.

Since posting that, I've determined that it's somehow tied to Screen Always On mode. Once the watch begins to lag, if I toggle Theatre Mode on and off (effectively turning off and on the screen), suddenly the watch becomes extremely fast and smooth again. This lasts a short while before the lag eventually returns. If I turn Screen Always On to off, then the issue doesn't occur at all. It's as though turning off the screen somehow clears whatever it is that's causing the lag.
For me all lags are gone by removing ZenFit app from system.. UI is now snappy and fast...!

No need to remove or uninstall zenfit from the watch only the phone.
By default zenfit is turned off, you can easily tell if zenfit is turned off or not.
If you are not getting any notifications from zenfit it means it's not enabled.
Once zenfit is uninstalled from your phone you should not get any notifications
from zenfit and it should not appear in your app list where all your other apps
are located.

Unfortunately that's not my experience. Zenfit was never installed on my phone but came pre-installed on the watch. It seemed to be enabled by default and there was no way to disable it. The only option was to block notifications. I did try to install Zenfit on the phone and then remove it, but it doesn't remove it from the watch.

Unlocked bootloader, Installed TWRP, disabled dm-verify and via TWRP file manager removed the app.. no ROOT needed!
I dont need ZenFit as I am using Google Fit..

Sorry to bother, I followed your steps, unlocked bootloader, flashed the ROM that's floating around the forum. Everything works well, but I still have some lag, so I wanted to remove ZenFit as well. I booted into TWRP, mounted system, but can't find the app...do you happen to remember where it is exactly? And the name lol

remove whole folder /system/app/AsusWellness
remember to set anything else for upper button as its set for open Zenfit by default...
PS: I am not using that custom ROM... just stock...
My watch was a bit laggy sometimes, like after first start, or when syncing, but otherwise comparable in speed with Watch Urbane or G Watch and after SW update it got a bit better. However, only after ingbrzy's magic the watch flies now. It is impressive just how fast the watch became after removing Zenfit app. It also boots fast as hell! No need for custom roms and other bs.
FYI, I was having troubles connecting the watch storage to computer (win8) for flash files to be put on watch. So I had to use alternative methods. Wear File Transfer app worked for me. It creates FTP server on watch.
I know most of us are happy with new Nougat firmware but i also see some people posting problems. To track this better i would like to all of us post here. This way some problems/bugs maybe look by more people and someone my have idea.
I got problem with Screen Mirroring. Whatever i do can't connect to my Samsung TV or Samsung Blue Ray player. I did restore software to PI2 and Screen mirroring worked fine. I did try on K1 and no problem buy soon as i update to BQA6 can't connect to any devices. Any help for this, anybody have problem like this? HELP. This is not like i use a lot but i make drives me crazy to point i may go to AT&T and warranty exchange my phone.

Mine had issues when I first upgraded to nougat with mirroring but it magically fixed itself lol
Only thing I've noticed is even with Auto rightness off the screen still dims itself ever so slightly when you leave a lighted area and go to a darker area, I'm assuming it's the blue light filter....Even though I have that option turned off.

Only issue I've had is a daily "Android System has stopped" popup, but it's pretty uneventful. Nothing crashes, phone doesn't restart. Just hit "ok" and go about my business. I assume it's related to the disabled package list I've carried over from MM.

Last weekend, I was on QA4 then I Odin'd back to APK1 and took the Official ATT OTA update to Nougat 7.0.
I just tested screen mirroring and it worked without any problems. Sorry, I don't have a Samsung BluRay to test.
Now the issue that I've been having is reboots. In the beginning, when I was first on N7.0 I had no problems whatsoever for a few days.
- On Feb. 20th, I kept getting a message that one of my apps unexpectedly closed. Now this app is old and wasn't even supported on MM (it's called Webcams widget) but it had worked flawlessly on MM and Nougat QA4.
- Then on Feb. 21st I had a couple of reboots happen, I went into a solid Bootloop that started in the afternoon and kept rebooting for around 10-15 times! It stopped long enough for me to actually Power Off my S7E down in the normal manner and I left it that way for around 5 minutes.
- I searched for solutions and finally ended up clearing the Cache Partition like this:
Wipe cache partition
Turn off the device.
Press and hold the Volume Up key, Home key, and Power key at the same time.
When the phone powers on, the Android System Recovery screen appears approx. 30 seconds later.
Release all of the keys.
Press the Volume down key to highlight "wipe cache partition."
Press the Power key to select.
Press the Volume down key to highlight “yes” and press thePower key to select.
When the wipe cache partition is complete, “Reboot system now” is highlighted.
Press the Power key to restart the device.
My phone went without a reboot for almost 2 days then yesterday afternoon I had one single reboot. My next test (if needed) will be to clear each app cache/data. Unless it gets really, really bad again, only then will I resort to a complete reset.
The only difference between using my phone on the official QA6 and the sideloaded QA4 is that I had turned off auto-updating for my Play Store apps when on QA4 (and earlier). I had a lot of updates occur when updating to QA6.
Doing more research today, I found an article talking about some common Nougat problems and possible fixes here.

Did you preform factory reset ?
It help me with lot of problems. Just make backup using Samsung Cloud and after factory reset using restore from Samsung cloud you will have 97% all of you settings and apps back. It is wort to do it.
Actually I just took a guess and re-enabled com.qualcomm.atfwd. I don't have a wifi display BUT I haven't gotten "Android System has stopped" since I turned it back on. This was never an issue on MM. If it happens again I'll try a few more packages related to Android System before a factory reset.

Package Disabler Pro. It's the only one that currently works in Nougat as far as I know.
I switched to OnePlus 3T today, and here are few observations guys...
Compared to Nougat on S7E... different level of speed and responsiveness, way different.
I used CM and AOSP roms in the past, on different phones, I know they fast, but this... speed demon out of the box, with MM or Nougat.
Feel bad for leaving S7E forums, but believe me guys, it is a flagship killer indeed. Unbelievable.
I will go back to Sammy with S8 only if they will be able to keep up with this kind of speed, plain and simple.
I was hoping with every generation that Sammy will get rid of touchwiz lags... new phones and new chipsets were piling up, but it never changed, unfortunately.
Touch wiz nougat is a bloody mess next to 3T nougat...

Just make backup using Samsung Cloud and after factory reset using restore from Samsung cloud you will have 97% all of you settings and apps back. It is wort to do it.

I have this issue also, it keeps dimming constantly, and my blind self can't read it without manually turning up the brightness.

Hello. My first post here. I have been lurking & reading for years.
I have a few of the minor issues that others have, like the colors will be washed out sometimes, pull down notifications are a bit harder to read. My main issue with this update is that my recently used apps will randomly close when the screen is locked & only keep 4 or 5 open. I want them to all stay open & I close the ones I no longer need. That is why I got this phone in the first place. Now apps that I need to go back to later & continue working are gone. Very annoying. I assumed it was a new performance setting activated without any explanation of how it will affect normal usage. I can't find where to change that particular setting, if it is changeable at all now.

Thanks for the tip. I tried that a few times. No change. Even added frequently used apps to be unmonitored. It is still closing all recently used apps, except the last 4 or 5. I just now turned off the app power monitor completely. It didn't change the estimated battery life hardly any. We'll see how that goes for a while.

Just go to settings and search for battery. Then you will see what apps you can stop to have better battery live

Go back to U firmware. If you use Nougat less then week how can you say anything about battery. I got 20-22 hours of use and around 4 screen time. How much more do you need? Why people are so greedy? All i hear everywhere is i want more, i need more, give me more etc. When babble going to blow.

once samsung gives us 935U nougat maybe ill go back to it.
So I got the upgrade but now I am unable to use the voice command Ok Google from watch face as before. I can only get it working by holding power button and even then it seems just laggy.
Anyone else having this issue activating it by voice?

Having that same issue. Not only does not "Ok Google" work, even after enabling it in the watch's settings, even when pressing down the crown, the whole thing is extremely slow. Furthermore, for sending a message, the "Ok" doesn't time out after a couple of seconds in order to send the message automatically. It requires me to tap the screen.
All in all, its looking more like a downgrade for me. The whole system feels sluggish and incoherent from a usability standpoint of view.

I've too had issues with "OK Google" after Android Wear 2.0 install. I did get it sort of working after a device reset and reconnect to my phone. (Samsung Note 5). Its slow!! and now for sending text messages you have to confirm with a tap. All in all the functionality went down....
Anyone know how to revert back to the old rom?

So another issue is that even after going to the stupid settings where you actually have to enable Ok Google from any screen on your watch, it STILL wont work. I can only get it to work by using the power button which has a huge delay and then only when I am connected on Wifi. For some reason it no longer works when on my normal cellphone connection.
The phone is super laggy, battery dies fast...its a MESS.
Basically my watch is useless now for all the things I need it to do daily
Mine only works if i go and disable Bluetooth and enable WiFi else it complains it can't contact Google. Play store is the same too. Slow lagging assistant is not good especially sending txts with no auto send

Same issue here. "OK Google" is the most important feature...
You need to give permissions for the OK Google to work. Didn't notice about it until I read this thread (I think most particularly Phone access)

I just got the ROM from this post and used the flash steps he listed and it worked fine.

Yup mine works perfectly without wifi (have been testing it outdoors since 2 days ago). Fix is to go to apps, system apps, google, permissions, enable permission to phone (maybe others too since IDGAF and ticked all)

Would you look at that! It works but WTH is google making it so complicated now for users? Most people dont hang around XDA to know these things. Like for instance apps now need to be downloaded on the phone as its not autmotically done, etc.

After a factory reset and being extremely patient, I was able to get Ok google to work. You have to go to the store on the app and update all of the apps and then enable, OK google in the settings. Problem is the response time is horrible. I'm going to stick with 2.0 and hope that they roll out updates to make it faster.

Responses time is horrible on the initial due to it running on single core at lower clock speeds and on conservative core governor.
Therefore you'll have to give it sometime for it to settle down or if you can't deal with it, you'll have to unlock the bootloader and flash in the dual or quad core enabled kernel file
Running in quad core kernel, battery life seems decent and response real snappy
Well that's just stupid because it worked fine on the previous android wear build. This is dumb on LG's part.
