why dont i recieve updates to my p9? - Huawei P9 Questions & Answers

I'm running B150 on my P9, and it's still in Android marshmallow. I want to update to nougat but there are no other updates available. The hicare app doesn't work either.
Are there an you ways to flash the latest firmware safely without risk of a brick?
Model:EVA-L09
Thanks

if you played with your phone, root etc. You never will get updates in official way.
for more information, we need full iformation. I mean, EVA-L19C432B383 or what you get, kuz all thease info is important. and hicare are working only with unmodified phone with latest mm B version, for me it was B180

right now, for your version have not nuget update. B150 is latest for C346
ofcorse, there are things how you can change your version from EVA-L09C346B150 to EVA-L09C432B150, but its not an easy thing to do, and can brick your phone, and thease things will void warranty.

I have two Huawei P9 (L09) phones
One I bought from JB Hi Fi and is on Android 7.0 / Emui 5.0 with a build no of EVA-L09C636B380.
But the second one I bought off ebay and is Android 6.0 / Emui 4.1.1 with a build no of EVA-L09C346B150
Would it be possible to rebrand the C346 to a C636 so it is the same as my other phone?

why branding as c636 instead of c432? c432 has a much better update schedule.
---------- Post added at 01:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:52 PM ----------
Btw, there is a debranding guide in this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/how-to/guide-debranding-to-c432-updating-to-t3551523
With this procedure, your new cust will be c432. You can have nougat by this cust too but your phone will automatically debrand to c900 (means universal), you will not receive any updates and some kind of features will be missing.

Thanks for your help
I have successfully rebranded the phone and the build number is now EVA-L09C432B136.
However it still doesn't seem to want to update.
Do I need to wait for something, is there still something I need to do, or is there a way to force an update?
Thanks again

The folder it's empty, man.
I was on b188 version.
Normal if you want to copy it you have to copy before install because the process delete the update after the install process
Yah. It's obvious.
Hi Guys, I found B194 OTA package on some german web, applied myself from B188, so ota package here for you:

I don't think there is nougat for our C900 devices. Best way now is to just debrand to maybe a C636 and update to nougat from there. If not I heard the update is coming to our devices by April.

I think there's a thread in the ROM section somewhere. You just gotta look for it. Basically you have to unlock bootloader, root, debrand, flash new firmware, request for update via hisuite to nougat.
How to update please tell me guys

No more update higher than EVA-L19C432B386?

Hello,
Huawei stop to build any new update for EVA-L19C432?
There is no more update from so long time, security patch of Android is so old from April 26 and also the Android version is so old (7.0).
This model has been drop and will not get anymore any update? They stop to update and prepare Oreo version for this model or was forget? Have someone some more information or some new firmware update unlisted on Firmware Finder?
Thanks

Count yourself fortunate, I cannot even get Nougat 7 on my EVA-L29C636. Seriously though, almost all flagship android devices will get, at most, 2 major updates. The P9 was shipped with M and most (not me) have N now. That will probably be the last.

You have Nougat for your version in Firmware Finder, have u tried upgrade manually?
U can also check in HiCare app if u have a update.
Sent from my LON-L29 using XDA Labs
stuck on the same version, firmware finder does not show anything newer either.
Never buying this trash company again and already telling all my friends to do the same.
Was able to install EVA-L09C432B391 with FF DNS method on my dual sim EVA-L19C432B386.
However device shows still old build number, but security patch level is Sep. 2017 and moments is available in camera app
I have managed to update to C391 on L19 but it shows C386 as before. I believe there is another small pack we need to install to show the actual firmware.
388 available for L19, it's the same as 391(L09)

Would you like to elaborate?
Did you flash the oeminfo partition before? I've tried mostly what I've thought about, but can't flash B390 onto my P9 dual sim. Same fw. EVA-L19C432B386.
Thank you.
I was able to flash C391 on my L19 using firmware finder and proxy method. It did not work in my case using DNS method. I did not flash oem partition, just the full 2Gb OTA, straight up.
I get unauthorized every time.

L19C432B388 is the last approved firmware.
B390 is not yet being approved to masses, only to test users.
Proof:
I am not getting even 388 though - through regular Huawei/settings update still nothing. Only see it in FF.

Two months ago when I shortly experimented by debranding L09 to L19 last OTA update for L19 was also b386 for me
Nevertheless, you can update to later unapproved builds by HWOTA method

From my personal experience... You probably have re-branded EVA-L19C432. Original still receives an update, however, if you have re-branded (as mine.My original EVA-AL10) it all stoped at EVA-L19C432B386.
and even if you try to install higher update via SDCARD it will fail.
You can try to download partition table for EVA-L19 and flash it on you phone using dc-unlocker Phenix52 software, then fix your IMEI with HCU Clinet , then you will be able to flash updates manualy higher the 386 but it cause issues with calls and reception on your cell phone..
Cheers,

Oreo has arrived for the chinnese models

Today but with quota limitations
I tried updating with firmware finder but it gives authentication error. Actually it arrived way before today. The date on ff shows 20-10-2017. It's just that the it shows as MHA-AL00 instead of MHA-AL00C00. So anyone got a trick to update to this new firmware.

In firmware finder instead of AL00C00 type MHA-AL00 . U will get the list of updates. See if you can make it work.

To anyone who missed update cause quote is full.
You can search in FF model MHA-330 (not MHA-AL00 in this case)
Huawei is pushing number 103199 via HiCare.
Doesn't know ability of authentication (I have C636 region)
Tried the one u mentioned but still get the authentication error.
Found Oreo for the C567 us model on firmware finder, (MHA-L29 8.0.0.321 (C567)) but can't install it due to it "not being authorized". It's official and not a beta, but since it hasn't been authorized by Huawei, system update won't install the update, any clue on how to get around this without rooting or installing twrp? Or should I just be patient and wait on this update to be authorized and be rolled out to the us mate 9?

You never get any updates for C567.
You get official Oreo first (If it now is official), but 8.0.0.321 is the first beta uploaded, with security patch 2017-10-05.
I hope they update it for you immediately.

Actually I see now you are on b135 which is probably MM EMUI 4.1 -in that case HWOTA as there will not work
I don't know about OTA upgrades from c605 b135, and why they don't come for you - but if you debrand to c432 you will have more options (OTA till b399 or even b502) and custom ROMs
Otherwise, DLOAD method must work for FullOTA-MF-PV versions (you can find FullOTA-MF-PV among older builds on FF) but you can't jump from b135 to b3xx, you must go gradually (people with c605 should know details)
