Manual update P10? - Huawei P10 Questions & Answers

Anyone succeed with manually updating P10? I have tried with no sucess.
Old method is not working.
Thanks

No but did you made the dload folder with the update.app file and then booted into the stock recovery mode?
I woudnt know any other way since they removed that from update settings : |

I tried that, does not work.

You can't manual update the P10 or P10 Plus, since it requires an online check.
They removed the ability to manual update via dload methode.
The only way at this moment is to use FunkyHuawei!

What about Firmware finder? I've tried this as well but I only get download failed, even everything is done as it should.

Hey,
I am working into this direction and got some promising results already. I am testing two more things during the next days (so that I can be sure my Stuff won't break your phones) and hope I can share my findings with you early next week.

Good to hear that. :good:

So, it is not possible to update, even the firmware matches your corrent model/brand?
I finally found the FW for VTR-L09C109, but when using dload method I get "Installation failed".

No, it is not possible. Huawei did something with emui 5.1.

It is not good since you loose warranty with bootloader unlocked.

Not always correct. It depends on the local country laws you live in.

And also if you follow the instructions you end with LOCKED Bootloader so no warranty lost

Is it same with P10 as it was with P9, tha it say relocked instead locked bootloader, when you lock it again?

nope : Phone LOCKED
FRP unlocked so they cant see the difference they can only find out if they check if you got the bootloader unlock code.but you also could request the code and dont use it.

Any progress here? The update has been out for months in other regions but I still haven't got anything here in Sweden :/

you don't need to lock your BL if you want to receive OTA ! anyway if you lock it you will be not able to unlock it again! my BL is unlocked and OTA update work perfect ! last OTA for L29 is 128 firmware but not 128a !

Do you have a stock recovery or a TWRP? As I've read somewhere on the forum you have to be on the stock recovery to flash OTAs. But let someone confirm this cause I don't have the P20 PRO yet.

Yes, it's pretty simple. I made it because I wanted to transform my P20 pro single sim to dual sim and it worked !
After procedure the new bootloader become re-locked. You can't use anymore the Huawei code to unlock boootloader and you can't root the phone or install twrp.
Until Funky find a system to unlock without code.

I had heard that using any of Funky's procedures relocks the bootloader and the Huawei bootloader unlock code no longer works. But like a lot of people, I purchased my unlock code from a 3rd party. So it would be interesting to see if it survived a Funky method.

Yes there are a few sites offering bootlocker unlock codes. https://ministryofsolutions.com/huaw...-new-firmwares does them for 30€, although they only accept so many paypal payments per day. https://global-unlocking-solutions-...es,_Choose_Model_Below/p5093122_19186756.aspx is €35 but has no limitations on paypal payments. I believe that both are totally legit, according to P20 onwers here.
Funky Huawei is a strange one. If you use one of their options to, say, change your region, model number etc, it will lock your phone again and make your current bootloader password useless. And the bad thing about this is, they don't offer an unlock service. Unless you pay for their unlimited use pass, which costs $132. Then they throw in a free bootloader unlock. I'm not sure if the relock and code breaking is a deliberate act by Funky Huawei but personally speaking, they should be giving a new working code to anyone whose unlock code they've trashed.

[Solved] Mate 10 FRP Locked, Phone Unlocked

so I was trying to update to EMUI 9 using Beta Flashy and I forgot to reflash stock recovery after flashing root via TWRP to get Flashy to work, so after the update, it couldn't reset, and when I checked bootloader, FRP was locked and now its stuck in bootloop. can anyone provide me with a method to fixing this issue without requiring me to pay the absurd amount that FunkyHuawei and DC Unlocker charge for restoring?
thank you
edit: solution here
Try Dload method and go back to EMUI8

I read this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73556776&postcount=24 saying that restoring the oeminfo partition should get it to work (don't worry, I still have my bootloader unlock code), but I can't find any images for the Mate 10 (ALP-L29).

Have you tried factory reset from stock recovery?
Flashing someone elses oeminfo will not help you. All it will do is lock bootloader and change your unlock code. (that thread is for Mate 9 on Nougat where oeminfo can be flashed without breaking anything. On Oreo and higher it uses oeminfo to calculate unlock code. But it also uses the imei that's embedded in oeminfo to calculate it. If you flash someone elses oeminfo your imei in oeminfo will not be the same and unlock code will change)
You most likely didn't do anything wrong. Updating stock firmware will replace your recovery with stock recovery. If it got that far in installation that is?
FH should work but it cost a lot. DC does not work since June so don't bother with it.
Else you can try service firmware from androidhost.ru.

Wait, you were on B128?!
That's from December 2017/January 2018. And that's the reason why it won't downgrade. It has old bootloader, and you are now on new bootloader. (Since Pie has new bootloader and it flashed).
Try a more recent build, like B139 or B140
You can also try downloading from androidhost.ru using JDownloader, it seem to ignore the limit.

It's just that B128 has old bootloader, and Pie (Including Oreo firmware from June and forward) has new bootloader. You can not downgrade from new bootloader to old bootloader.
So that's most likely why it fails to flash B128.
And you would only be able to update Pie using NoCheck recovery/TWRP, which is impossible to flash as you are FRP locked.

B135 should be able to install. It's new bootloader.
Check the instruction pdf that's included in the firmware, it will show you the directory path to use. And if you need to use microsd or USB OTG to SD adapter or something.

yeah i did, it was relatively easy. just go to https://androidhost.ru, download the version for your phone, and when you unzip, you'll find a folder with instructions on how to flash. easy process, although keep in mind, this process will relock your bootloader (if you already unlocked it).
if you did unlock and it relocked, firstly, check your email if you still have the unlock code buried somewhere in your deleted emails, and if not, then check out this guide, should help you find your unlock code. it worked for me, and only cost $5 or so.

Need help on Mate 10

Hi,
I have just got a Mate 10 from my friend, and I have looked around for 2 days but now I am lost. I am not quite sure what to do with my bootloader and how to update the rom to the latest version. My phone version is ALP-L29C636, 8.0.0.125, Phone Relocked. I am aware that Huawei changed their bootloader unlocking policy and some third-party services, but the steps are all over the place. Could someone please advise me what to do now? Thanks in advance for any help/suggestion.
You stated that the bootloader was relocked. This implies it was unlocked at some point. Do you still have the bootloader code or can you get it from your friend?

I have decided to go with eRecovery method of FH, and now my phone is downloading 9.0.0.108. Hoping everything is going to be fine *fingers twist
*update: it took quite long but my phone is now on Pie.

P10 not turning on after update!!!

Hello.
i have a Huawei P10. [VTR-L29 9.0.1.159(C185E3R1P9)]. I updated it using hisuite and firmware finder via erecovery 2 weeks ago, then recently i tried to check for updates in hisuite, an update is available, with the same build number(developer) with size of 880mb and i updated it, after completion of update, phone restarts, verify installation packages and proceed with update installing, after 99% phone restarts again and not turning on itself, i tried manually turning it on, not successful. so I tried plugging it in my computer, hisuite detects it, and system recovery is the only option. i tried but it failed, and should be taken to the service center.
What should I do?
-my phone was purchased abroad
-warranty expired a year ago
-i dont have the box of it and the imei infos.
If anyone can help me, please I need it. THANKS

Hope that bootyloader still working, else there's a chance for you to get another phone.
If I had to go thru what you have today... I would try to flash Emui 9 based RR or Los just to revived while enjoying the pure android interface.
If all else fails... Go back to basic maybe there is a thing or two that you've missed

I think the only ways is thru pc or with a small payment at the huawei service centre to get that firmware up and running again.

(Q) Query about bootloader and re-packaging an OTA

hi all,
Just having a thought (might not work but thought i'd ask)
Some OTA's / Firmwares which you can install from the bootloader have the ability to re-lock the device, would the same be possible for the other way around?
I mean i'm on a locked bootloader now cos of the crap i installed which updated me to 9.1, it relocked the bootloader, I can turn on OEM unlocking (FRP) but obviously it remains unlocked.
Would there be a way to repackage a firmware package so that it does the opposite to re-locking?
I think everyone has pretty much given up on Huawei devices, I was just trying to disable zRAM and i can't.
Any thoughts ? Is this a possible avenue? or is this simply not going to work?
I'd guess the latter but thought i'd ask.
Which firmware version relocked your bootloader? I can perhaps take a look at it in my free time.

Nope! DLOAD re-lock bootloader to factory condition, but there's no way to unlock the bootloader with it.
I don't think Huawei will give you the unlock code a second time, but maybe you will be lucky, who knows.
Maybe you can retrieve it from an email from them!?
Edit: You can download your HuaweiID data from Settings - > HuaweiID - > Privacy Center but i doubt you will get the bootloader code from there

I've spoke with them, they said they've not heard of a situation like this.
Bare in mind that this is information that has been passed to me before. Which is a correspondence, they are obligated to provide it regardless.
I don't believe it was in an email and I've checked all accounts
