OK, its pretty simple so I'm not gonna fill up the page with useless junk,
this source is pure caf and some code is modified with some optimization/device/substratum commits.
The Aim is to keep it as close to AOSP as possible,
if you want any features added go to the plenty of other ROMs available.
This is for folks like me who want a clean rom as close to pure aosp as possible.
What's CodeAurora Forums ?Code Aurora Forum (CAF) is a consortium of companies with projects serving the mobile wireless industry. Software projects it concerns itself with are e.g. Android for MSM, Femto Linux Project, LLVM, MSM WLAN and Linux-MSM. Code Aurora is basically AOSP plus all Qualcomm specific enhancements and optimization.

great work bhai
any comment about stability and maybe tomorrow somebdy can report hw the battery did fr them.
I'm only concerned with standby flat battery graph. Does the graph stay flat overnight? or when not in use?
While using, battery will decline of course

I just see forks of forks & some cherry picking that is rather bad documented (which doesn't mean it's bad, just impossible tracking) at the end the same Strix & Lineage base.
Edit: hmmm some of cherry picks do look interesting enough for tracking but that will be very hard thing to do.

Sure.
in my SOT might not be the best judge for battery life as I don't keep my phone in use throughout the day.
I use it intermittently. So, a flat battery graph when not in use is of particular importance.
It will obviously translate to better SOT but that will be more organic and original.
Not like other SOT champions who keep doing stuff till the last drop of battery to report 15 hours of SOT.
I see a tendency towards flat lining when resting with your script.
I just wish you add more stuff to it as you mentioned.
You might also discuss with jerry to add to make his flashable zola script complete.

I am a noob actually a beginner but I will make sure that I improve myself :3

pretty smooth so far, but phone was restart and into looping stage afterward, I can get into TWRP and wipe out and reinstall this ROM and it happened again. So I did wipe out and restore my original ROM and phone was restart again and into lopping stage. I have tried many times, same issue even I can get into TWRP, deleted everything.
I don't know how to sort out the issue, please guide me for the way to fix it up, many thanks.

halogenOS Checklist
Although no data should be lost or damaged by the flashing process,
we advise you to follow the following steps if you are coming from another rom:
Please take a full nandroid backup!
Please copy your back up to an external device.
Backing up your Internal Storage is also recommended.
When completed, please clean flash the build!
Although you usually can dirty flash halogenOS over other ROMs, considering the other
ROM has the same Android version, it is not guaranteed. In case of serious
crashes please do a clean flash.
This is a ROM that is currently in an beta state.
XOS is a new generation cutting-edge OS for Android based on Code Aurora Forum releases.
What is XOS?
halogenOS, also known as XOS is a new Android ROM which ships with the global aim to
become a modular ROM which keeps as high as potentially possible operating
performance on your mobile device while still maintaining a sufficient feature
base of nice, small and minimal features that would not be available via any
external feature base, extension, mod or plugin.
We hope you have a truly halogenified experience!
Internals of XOS
At core, the ROM is composed mainly of components from CodeAuroraForums (CAF),
featuring only extremely minor set of components from CyanogenMod (CM) which
have been added to source in order to allow for better cross-device compatibility.
Our LOVE to others
A huge thanks goes to those behind the CodeAuroraForums (CAF), the CyanogenMod
organization and all of its
contributors for the sources used in the development of the base ROM which we
started with inclusive of all the work and dedication their team puts in order to
keep us updated on the awesome contributions that they make.
We will be keen on ensuring that we be up to date with the code from our base sources,
with regular ROM updates hopefully coming from time to time.
Please do not ask for ETA's (else you shall be spooked by Mr Skeltal). Almost all of us are
students, and with the current lifestyles and routines we have, it is not that easy to acquire
time to develop the ROM, though we'll be sure to keep you updated and release OTAs as
soon as they are available and ready for publication. If you want to be really updated quick,

Common stuff
Known issues:
No backlight for hardware keys
Please use Footej camera for video recording (4K supported) or Google Camera (1080p).
Navbar section in SystemUI Tuner crashes
Known issues are going to be fixed as soon as possible. We don't have infinite time.
Planned features (don't ask for these!):
Lockscreen Visualizer (This time we are going to make it ourselves. Since on CM-based ROMs the lockscreen visualizer causes the infamous QuickSettings Bug, we are making a new implementation)
Navigation bar & Hardware Keys toggles
Heads-Up toggle
Hardware buttons backlight
And more stuff I don't remember now
Highlights :
Substratum
Full media support (FFMPEG, video codecs, ...)
Great Audio quality, no distortions, no crap
Optimized many portions of the system including surfaceflinger, inputflinger, System Server, and more
Super fast boot
Superuser-capable
Great battery life
Soundmod support (not all soundmods work on Nougat, it's not our fault)
addon.d support (backups your gapps etc. when flashing new build - don't wipe system before flashing!)
init.d support
BusyBox
Disabled Access Time for all partitions (We don't need access time. When access time is enabled, it will store the exact date of the access when a file is accessed, what just wastes write cycles (in theory) and has impact in I/O performance.)
Super smooth
Signature Spoofing toggle (Support for MicroG)
Support for trusted third-party WebViews like Chrome
Long press on home for assist toggle
Security Patches in kernel
OpenGapps (Mini/Micro/Nano recommended) and Banks GApps support
Full KeyHandler & KeyDisabler support
Dexpreopt for faster (first) boot time and less space consumption on data partition
Upgrade & Boot the ROM in just 5 minutes - no more endless waiting for flashing a new build
Very high compatibility with other ROMs
Warning: You should not use SuperSU by Chainfire, as that breaks sensors on Nougat ROMs for Redmi Note 3 .
Instead, please flash this zip and install the phh's superuser app from Play Store: Phh's Superuser
How to update the ROM:
Download the latest zip
Reboot into TWRP (Please use official TWRP)
Do not wipe anything
Flash the ROM
Reboot
You don't need to wipe Cache/Dalvik.
You don't need to flash gapps again. There is some magic going on which keeps your GApps. Just make sure that you don't wipe system before flashing.
You don't need more than 5 minutes.
Supported Kernels
Stock kernel. (Great battery - Performance ratio) (recommended)
You can actually flash any custom kernel on this rom.
CM kernels are usually supported, especially those that are delivered as an
AnyKernel package.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 7.1 (Nougat), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

thanks so much for creating a thread.
any news on the source kernel release state?
ps: can you add a donation button for your profile?
fyi: installed the latest version over the 122 Build with wiping dalvik chache after, works properly without any bootloops.
I have a weird bug... on every startup the Alarm (set for the next morning) starts ringing. This was the case on the 311 build for me as well.
Some (dumm) questions to clarify...
Hey,
i was following the discussion in the other thread - also a big thanks from my side and a really cool!
Questions:
1) I don´t really get the comment to the multi touch problem. Yes there is a link but do i need to actively flash something after installing latest build? Or does it mean there is a work around integrated with the last build with the specific code from the link.
So: Yes - you still need to flash something for multiply touch support OR No - all is good for now just flash it!
2) Sorry, just want to be sure - Google Apps: ARM64 Version right?
Yes right ARM64 / No, its wrong
3) If it happens that there will be also a official Linage OS buid, can i just flash it than without wipe/reset the phone or do i have to install it new? I know we cant say it jet but:
A) You will need to wipe - for sure!
B) Likely you will not need to wipe.
C) It is absolutly open and nobody has a Glas-Ball to find out jet, so 50/50
4) What is "Live Display is software inly" - i could not find out what is meant with "Live Display" via Google excatly. Sorry if it is a dumm question.
Thanks so much for making this development possible. Hope my questions are not too dumm ones and fast and easy to answer.
Sebastian - Greetings from Yangon! Got my Mi5s for only 268 Euros here ( 4/128GB) 400000Kyts
Hey there!
Everything works as expected (camera bug is still there - as expected), the rest is flawless.
Thanks for all the hard work!
Please (I keep requesting this), could you (or somebody else contributing to the build) add the hardware button switching option (using the already working script from @ru1dev) ? It would be great to have it embedded in the ROM. I am sure many people want to use the Nexus/Pixel/Stock navigation experience (back, home, recents button order).
There seems to be a "bug" in all these builds: Pixel icons (from Open Gapps) don't seem to work (they do in other ROMs based on @xiaobai112220 's sourcetree). Maybe I'm just doing something wrong... don't know - but I can live with that.
Thanks a bunch! Keep up the good work!
Install in progress....

Today's version is very fluid and very stable. Thank you 谢谢! I can only imagine that you will make a perfect Lineage firmware once Xiaomi releases the kernel source code for Mi5s. :fingers-crossed:

Maybe you forget to wipe cache/dalvik after flashing the ROM...

Ok interesting.
I did a wipe before i installed the ROM but not after.
It should make no difference to clear the old "files" from the previously ROM before or after flashing the system partition, right? I might be wrong though...

CarbonROM is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
Please feel free to look, build, and use our code at CarbonROM's GitHub... and at CarbonROM Gerrit.

Support:
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Join our Discord server! There, you can connect with other Carbon users and our developers, and you can get quicker responses to your bug reports. The invite link is right below.
We recommend MindTheGApps. OpenGApps should work, but please make sure you clearly mention the gapps you're using when reporting bugs.
Notice:
For this ROM to work you need to use the latest ODM Images. If you need additional guidance on how to do that, please refer to Sonys Guide on how to flash an ODM Image.

No one tried this rom yet? I have a problem over here. It keeps asking for password after the CarbonROM logo even though I wipe everything clear, any ideas? What I was doing was flash 41.3.A.2.99 with everything wiped, flash ODM, flash TWRP, flash the rom and then Pico OpenGapps. Something wrong with my procedure? Thanks in advance.
EDIT1 : Oh yeah, forgot to mention my device is F8332, it isn't supported?

Use the "format data" option in TWRP to get rid of encryption, wipe doesn't clear encryption. If coming from stock, thats necessary unfortunately due to differences in the encryption used. Otherwise (if coming from AOSP) the password its asking for would be the one you used before.
Dual sim support?

No it isn't. At least out of the box. You can find a patch on Sony AOSP Build thread.
Volte Supported??
First of all, thanks alot @Myself5 and all other devs, who are working hard to bring this to our XZ :good:
My experiences after 1 day:
- rom is very smooth and snappy.
- root via Magisk v16 & Xposed 90.1-beta3 (systemless) works flawlessly
- the fp sensor always works, but it's not as sensitive as with stock
- night light worked - until I've installed Substratum and a Substratum theme, but after that it doesn't work anymore (even after deactivating, uninstalling the theme, a system restart and deinstalling the Substratum app it sill doesn't work). Also a dirty flash of the rom.zip didn't help to get it working again.
- the build-in camera takes acceptable pics (not as well as the stock camera, but acceptable); also focussing is a little slower than stock. Another thing is, it's not possible to chance the location to save the pics to the ext. sdcard.
- formatted as a portable storage, the ext. sdcard item on the left of the status bar can't be removed (see attachement)
- the battery consumption is a bit high (from 100 % to 98 % in 1 h - without doing anything)
But in the whole, it's really promising for th 1st official build :good::good::good:

Hello, is the battery life when used good ? As good as stock ?
And does it have that bug when if you record video the result will be green ?
Can you upload screen recording of rom from home to settings and other functions.
I plan on flashing this soon, but I figured I'd tell you, your link to the Carbon FAQ is broken.

The battery consumption while in use is ok. But my device doesn't go into deepsleep while the screen is off. So I had lost about 23 % in 10 hrs - leaving the device untouched!
Video recording works; I haven't noticed that bug.

Sorry, I went back to stock for now, as there's a new stock fw (41.3.A.2.107).
I have a few bugs to report. First, the fingerprint sensor is extremely slow, about half or even one third of the speed compared to stock. Second, could you guys please fix the deepsleep? That one is not working for now. And third, Night Light does not work at all...
Thank you for updating the XZ to Android 8.1 I am glad to see carbon rom on this device although it is not that stable for now.
Really nice ROM and I'm looking forward to make this my daily driver, I tried it for two days and these are the bugs I found:
1: GPU performance is really bad with 2d games and google maps lagging all the time when they never do on stock
2: CPU performance is inferior compared to stock, especially single threaded
3: enabling 120 hz display won't do anything and the settings or UI will crash when leaving the page
4: fingerprint seems to be sometimes less responsive, usable but can be improved
Camera is not so bad and the modded google camera works well, hopefully this will become the first proper AOSP based platform for this device that has only seen failures until now, keep up the good work.
Can I dirty flash this rom for just update?
I use Carbon Rom 3/31 version, but I can't use delta update because my device cannot receive the stock script.
I must change the rom script with Notepad+.
So...can I use dirty flash or....could you manage it?
Thanks for continously updating this rom and thank you for fixing the bug with the fingerprint sensor.
I'm not sure if deepsleep has been fixed but there is a big problem with playing music. I can't even play any music track at all...
Hello, looking forward to make this my daily driver, is it possible ?
What I would want is decent battery life and camera.
Hello. I tried to listen to music after installing the ROM, but the earphones are disconnected as soon as they are connected to the smartphone.
The earbuds pfe 132 and are made up of earphones with an iphone microphone.

Clean flashed the 10th build along with Rytekk's dual-SIM patch, Pico Open GApps and Magisk 16.3 to my F8332 and other than that annoying SD notification (which can be banished to the notification drawer by making System UI notifications low priority) and Night Light not working, the only other major issue raised ITT of the CPUs not entering Deep Sleep is fixed according to Adiutor.
Great stuff. I haven't been able to standardise on one ROM since the CM days (interesting side note, it looks like you built the kernel for the NOCT build on my Z2 tablet).
I recommend this to anyone for daily use. Also, lower your expectations to realistic levels guise. I remember when XDA threads were for flagging major broken functionality, not complaining that a few amateur enthusiasts weren't putting out work that competed on every indicator against the finished product of a multibillion-dollar for-profit international conglomerate.

Is there a way to deactivate this as it is annoying and it doesn't work, I have to hard reboot my phone everytime
Excellent CrDroid but the battery continues to drain very fast.
I'm on crdroid from 2017 as my daily. One bug that bothers me is that when I charge it, it goes to 100% and I leave it plugged for more than, say, 10 min in idle, phone will reboot.
Is this maybe fixed in this version?
Also what is your SOT and discharge per hour when idle (normal usage, no gaming)?

To investigate battery drain, look at: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809

Um well thanks but battery drain is not my main concern. I think it's acceptable on crdroid based on 7.1.1. I was just wondering what is the new version like in comparison.
But to be honest it's the reboot issue I don't like at the moment...

SOT is battery drain, and someone else touched on drain, and hence I addressed that.

Thanks a lot, I'll look into it.
DiamondJohn, urgent help needed, please.
I've just messed up my phone. I've changed media_profiles.xml file. I thought that if I add camera profile for 24 fps the phone would allow recording in this fps. And now it got bootloop.
Anyway I have a copy of the original file, plus I believe path should be root/etc (that's CrDroid based on 7.1.1).
Could you please guide me to some kind of tutorial on how to prepare flashabable file to replace this one file through recovery?
Or if I could trouble you to create such flashable file for me..?

I personally use an app called ZIPMe for one off type zip creation or as a starting point. But you are going to need at least one phone to run it on; ie not in a bootloop. Maybe try safemode?
Always do a Nandroid before messing with your phone.

I know, my bad. I usually do.
Here's the whole story. I tried to tweak mixer_paths.xml file because the lowest volume of a phone call is to loud for me and the highest volume via BT is to low. I tweaked this file many times before and all was fine.
Today when I tried to do the similar action I spotted this other file mentioned above and I thought "let's try it". The main mistake (aside of not using nandroid) was messing with both files at the same time. Now bootloop.
Anyway, your app crushes on me on my other phone (unfortunately other rooted I have is on SGS2).
Do you know any other app of that kind?

v5.7 So far so good.
Stable and fast even in battery save mode (comparing to slow official 5.0.1 ROM). Very nice and full of visual settings (I love Amoled black theme and set of fonts).
Do not forget to turn off NFC after ROM installing - this could fix battery drain.

Introduction
My personal build for everyday. A simple AOSP project with little extras, keep the pure experience. You can build, you can use, you are free.. May the Force be with you!
I share this simple work to also open the door to testing new things and for those who love (like me) the simplicity of AOSP. As some know, I am part of the xiaomi-sdm660 organization (Together with AmulyaX and rama982) and this is a way to receive feedback for the work we are doing every day.
To keep in mind:
- This rom will not have OTA support
- It is not open to requests for new features
- I don't have releases time
- And the obligation to present errors and bugs accompanied by a LOG will be indisputable
Features
- Lawnchair, Bromite and SimpleGallery prebuilts (Will keep updated)
- Extended power menu with advanced reboot
- 4 columns in quicksettings
- Add option to select the height gesture
- And a lot of underhood optimizations
Bugs
Rom
- You tell me
Device
- Widevine L1 (Progress: DRM info apps detect L1, but Netflix still showing L3. After today release of Q dump, tried with add DRM stuff but liboemcrypto dont exist ... So I used lib from davinci and have a middle detected L1 support)
- FM Radio (At moment still working to release)
- AliPay fingeprint (Today fixed WeChat fingerprint but ifaaservice need something more to AliPay)
- If you find something more..

First, thanks for your hard work and appreciate to support RN7. I was using Minimal v2 and had no issues. This Yodita (clean flashed) and running exceptionally well - fast, fluid, battery friendly.
My version of phone do not have any sensor issue (all working). The battery lasted for more than 3 days with @6hrs sot with my regular web/telegram/email/WhatsApp use.
Please keep it up.
For any one looking for screen shot of the ROM, here are attached.
Yes, absolutely great rom. Fast, fluid and good battery. Thx Dev for your work.

Wait!!! Is the battery really that good? I mean, I know it won't last 5days, but regrdless, that number is mind boggling! Also, when did you take the SS?
