dual sim functionality - Huawei P10 Questions & Answers

Hi guys,
Just bought myself a Huawei P10 VTR-L09 phone.
When I check for the specs online I see that there is a VTR-L09 dual sim as well.
On my phone I got the same sim adapter in combination with a micro sd. (its the same as the dualsim adapter)
When I put my simcard in (what should be) sim 2 it doesn't work.
Is this just a software issue, or is my phone missing hardware as well?
Cheers!

You can use chimera tool for unlock dual sim

Sounds great. I was thinking of trying it, but I don't think I'll ever really use it. My P9-Lite is dual-sim but I always keep an SDcard in the 2nd slot anyway.

you can always modify the sd and sim, or just get a adapter, no modification is needed.

Not sure what you mean. Are you saying there is a way to have 2 SIM cards active and still have microSD storage?

remove the plastic cover from the sim and shave the microsd thinner, glue them together, it will fit into the slot. or a adapter, all shown below.

Wow that's pretty cool. Where do you get those adapters? There's like no extra space in that slot, how does that ribbon cable fit anywhere? Do you have more detailed instructions anywhere? I've never tried to dissect a SIM card before.
Would be nice to do it without gluing, so I can still swap SIM cards if I need to.

once modifying the sim and sd card, there is no going back, but it will work with most hybrid slots, except xperia phones. The adapter will bend and locate at the back of the phone.

Ah I see now. Seems a bit clumsy, having to tape the adapter to the back of the phone. Also these SIMcard trays are quite tight when fully inserted into the phone. That ribbon cable is really thin enough to work and not break?
Might try this out later with my P9-Lite before deciding to rebrand my P10.

Thanks, for this! Both my sims are working now. But the phone only booted after unlocking the bootloader again. Is that supposed to be the case? Or did I do something wrong? Sorry for the noob question, but I am new to Huawei.
Edit: nevermind, I did the update step and I am all fine now. Dual sim and locked bl. Learned a lot about Huawei phones in the meantime. Thanks again.

Can someone please tell me if on the vtr-l29 version both sims do data?

Something doesn't sound right about what you just said... If you're in the UK and your Carrier is EE, would you mind explaining to me how you got TWRP to work on your 64 bit variant of the HTC Desire 510?!?! Because I know there's no 64 bit twrp and I'm thinking you tried to flash twrp on your 64 bit phone and now you're stuck and can't figure out how to fix it....

You can upgrade from internal memory
Yes, this is Dual SIM firmware
Hi,
I'm new here, first of all thanks for sharing this :good:
I would like to try it out, but I was wondering:
a) Why in the phone updater this update it's not recognized (mine is ALE-L21C432B170) ?
b) Can I change language or it will be in spanish only ? I guess so because actually looks like I can switch it.
c) If I want to rollback to the actual firmware, how do I do it ?
Thanks in advance for any answer

I finally Unlock Bootloader on my Mate 10 PRO successfully

After reading many things on internet i try HCU Client from DC unlocker and successfully unlock my bootloader.
I buy 4 credits on the site (1 credit = 1 euro) =, after that i install the drivers, download the update of client, put the phone in manufacture mode and a little pray, finally get a unlock code.
I just go to Tool all in one and try the code and finally unlock the Mate 10 Pro.

It's fine on Android 8, BUT it was patched in firmware starting June (some later). For example, on C432 it stopped working as of B145. B145 can be downgraded to B142 where it does work. B146 and later can not be downgraded.
For Mate 9 it's still working on latest Oreo.

And finally works with new firmware and rebrand the phone from C25 (Claro Latin-america) to C432.
I used a guide from this site.
http://www.androidiani.com/forum/mo...-guida-aggiornamento-rebrand-magisk-root.html
And this is from here but the guide from the site it was more easy to follow.
I don't even understand the language of the guide but with google translator of chrome it was not a problem.
I was getting to many troubles with windows 10.
I got a second laptop and installed Windows 7 and everything works like a charm.
I use the drivers from DC-Unlocker for the Windows 7 and don't install the Hisuite.
Then for do everything I used the HWOTA8_Mate10
The firmware I used to apply to my phone came from here.
http://huawei-firmware.com/phone-list/huawei-mate-10-pro
And this is my phone now...

Omg I did it last last night aswell, rebranded it from version bla_l09 132 (768) up To bla_l09 156 (c432)
Succeeded rebranding C782B132 -> C432B156.
No issues on Windows 10 using latest Hisuite drivers and HWOTA8(Hisuite closed during process) and no need to apply OTA twice. Butter smooth!
I think this is the beta for L09 C432 of pie

Did you install latest drivers and checked ADB/Fastboot are working? Unlocking via AIO is usually straightforward.
I'm currently running BLA-L29 8.0.0.143 (C636patch01) I have the dual sim Mate 10 Pro. What software version should I be on? See that you guys are using BLA-L09 which I believe is a single sim. Isn't that for different hardware than my version?
I no longer have a windows 7 device. Will it work on windows 10 with the compatibility modes?

Hybrid slot micro sd/second SIM

Hi, I have a question for you, surely you know more than me.
The 128 Gb S10 arrived and configured. It runs very well and it is a nice device. But I have a problem: in the old smartphone I had the possibility to use the dual sim and the micro sd at the same time (through a small chip to insert in the hybrid slot). I noticed that in s10 it doesn't work and it seems to be a lock related to Samsung. You can confirm? Can you tell me if using root and modding it is possible to work around this problem?
The chip in question is the following, for clarity:

Yeah, they don't allow this any more.
They already did this on s9, this method ceased to work with last updates. With root, I believe there's a magisk module that enables both sim and microsd.
Not sure if that module works on s10 tho.
Thank you Xiux. I will wait for a solution for the S10.

Hi,
I bought one of these adapter on amazon. And its works!
There are two requirement:
Being rooted and xposed (Edxposed) with this module:
Galaxy S9 Dual SIM + SDCard Unlock - http://repo.xposed.info/module/s9dualsim.cloudtech.at.s9dualsim
And finally buy one adapter the shortest as possible.
The fact is you have to get a case to hide the adapter and notice that I protect the behind of my phone from scratchs with an adhesive tape
Thank you guys.
Could you please link me the procedure to unlock to bootloader and to root the S10?
Thank you

sim lock everywere... yes no OTA and No bloatware.
And can we see instructions?
Whatever....it never happened
Just for future reference SIM lock on LG SD845 is build now with strict hardware dependencies based on Chip ID and signature. The only way of removing SIM lock so far, apart from using official operator SIM unlock methods is to re-solder chip from already unlocked SD845 device and refurbish the phone - so all those well known tricks of erasing some files cross flashing different roms etc. is not working any more. Just save your time and efforts...
Aw man that's awesome! So did it work? Did u succeed or not? Please tell us more.
I'm interested in crossflashing LG V40. I did that on LG V30+ twice. Here is the XDA topic: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30/how-to/using-lgup-crossflashing-t3780969
My YouTube Tutorial:
I had LG V30+ (us998) on Sprint and all the bloatwares. I used patched LGUP & DLL file and flash ls998 witch is unlocked V30 kdz. Ot worked prefect. Then i tried to flash some another kdz file, didn't succeed, brick the phone. But then i use CHIP erase and tried to flash ls998 (unlocked) on it. And it worked but that delete serial number and other details. Bc i did chip erase. But phone worked fine at the end?
I'm assuming he either has access to the latest LGUP (1.16) that supports the V40 along with the .msi/DLLs needed, or has access to LG Flash Tool with the hard to find V40 DLL for the flash tool.
Either way, instructions aren't going to get posted from what I can see.
That's awesome though, have fun with that!
A man from Ukraine is already doing unlock sim for Sprint V40. For this, you do not need to do a root or unlock bootloader.

Where are you obtaining these "strict hardware dependencies" claims for the SD845 chips? From what I've seen, the G7 and V35 phones that are crossflashed in LGUP end up being SIM unlocked just like on the old V30 phones. Those are also SD845 so the "Chip ID" lock would not make sense. I believe the old modem data is STILL stored on the modemst1 and modemst2 partitions on the V40 with the Octoplus flash method because the only way they are being crossflashed at the moment is through Octoplus box, and the G7 and V35 are being crossflashed with just LGUP. It seems LGUP's REFURBISH mode clears this old modem data when crossflashing, as I have had similar SIM lock or no signal issues on the old V30 that were only fixed after using REFURBISH or flashing appropriate modemst1/2 partitions.
