Sorry, but did you click enhanced LTE services? It should bring up a icon to your desktop. Click it then it should take you to a additional page where you can check/uncheck the option.

Nice trick. I wonder why this isn't available in the regular menu anymore. Any other hidden settings like this we should be aware of?
Does VoLTE make any difference in call quality? HD Voice with T-Mobile users seems exactly the same, and calls with other carriers sound terrible with VoLTE to begin with. It does not seem worth leaving VoLTE enabled, since you lose out on conference call management features.
Edit: I just tested a call with someone on a different carrier with VoLTE turned off, and the call quality was significantly better than when VoLTE was enabled. Seems like there is no advantage to VoLTE except maybe signal availability in areas where there is no GSM signal?

HD voice is volte man.... Hence the HD part. It's using your data network to make the call. If you call someone that doesn't have volte capability, it's going to sound a lot worse, but they use to have it baked in to not use volte if the other person didn't have it. I guess now they just re convert the signal instead

HD Voice and VoLTE are not the same thing. VoLTE is merely the carriage of voice over LTE. It's use is mandated by the GSM Association, and it uses the HD Voice codec to turn your words into a digital signal. HD Voice is what has become the trade name of a particular voice codec, AMR Wideband (AMR-WB). HD Voice operates over UMTS and GSM, it is not unique to LTE.
Even with VoLTE turned off, we still get HD voice calls between T-Mobile users and it sounds generations better than other calls.

Turning off volte also turns off HD voice in tmobile phones.

Volte can be disabled from Settings, Connections, Mobile Networks, 4G Call. (if T-Mobile let it there)

Not all, and even then for the ones that behave that way, if you drop down to 3G (HSPA+) you still retain HD-Voice (AMR-WB)
HD-Voice is not VoLTE
VoLTE is not WiFi calling

No I know that. But while I was in the settings menu for it, whenever I turned off VOLTE, it auto turned off HD voice and grayed it out

Thanks for this, for whatever reason my VoLTE was disabled by default. Was wondering why my outgoing calls dropped to 4G all the time.

LTE OnOff in the market, dials into the support menu (or whatever it's called) where you can change the radio. A bit of a pain, but better then having a dead battery 6 hours into your day.
This doesn't work on the Droid 4, the only option is to turn off the radio entirely.

Works for me just fine. It's not a widget, just a short cut. Select the drop down arrow about half the way down to see the different bands.

You need lte onoff as I stated earlier. Motorola has seen fit to remove the option in settngs to run on cdma only. the app I listed takes you into a support menu allowing you to select the bands through a drop down.
Widgets will most likely not work as the setting is in the framework and is not easily changed.

So I have been playing around with the LTEOnOff and was wondering if there was any information on the different types of radio's we can choose from.
EDIT:Since I poster this I found a neat webpage with a lot of information about the different radio signals.

I suppose it's not available in tasker after all. Weird BC I thought nothing was off limits in the app http://forums.androidcentral.com/android-apps/538920-how-can-tasker-programed-toggle-hd-voice-lg4-widget.html
So unless you're a developer, I suppose there is nothing you can do to get a volte widget.
I know this is an old thread, but I came across it because I was looking for the same feature. I have Verizon, and I have a Network Extender in my house to get normal service. Well, one of the downsides of using an Extender is that you have to have your Advanced Calling turned off to connect to it. Because I want to toggle it on and off frequently, I wanted a widget on my desktop. So I found a solution after trying a few apps.
Solution:
1) download app called "Quick ShortcutMaker"
2) on top, change search from "incremental search" to "normal search"
- this is easier, because you would think you could access it through settings, but you can't because its not there
3) type in "advanced calling" and search, you'll get two matches
4) choose the 2nd one which is labeled "Phone -> Advanced Calling -> com.android.phone/com.android.phone.VzwAdvancedCallingSettings
5) put that shortcut on your desktop and now you have a quick toggle to jump to that page and turn it on and off. Its not an official toggle, but it does save you several screens
PS: you can do the same for WiFi calling. Just make sure when you search that you search for "Wi-Fi calling", the hyphen is important. It's also under the phone category.

I just upgraded my Vz network extender to the new 4G model. It supports advanced calling. It also fixed a problem that I had sending DTMF to an IVR system.
I sold my old 3G network extender on eBay.

How to use Hotspot and USB tethering for FREE (Sprint, possibly more)

Go into airplane mode, then come out, directly after hit whichever one you want to do (wifi hotspot/USB tethering) and it should work without problems. I have tried and used both. If you have an easier way, please share!

"An settings"? "pan type"?

If you go to sprint.com you'll see on the front page they include 10 GB of hotspot data. After those 10 gigs I believe it's throttled. I've had this for as long as I can remember.

WARNING about switching to a plan with free 10GB/mounth Mobile Hot Spot: Despite confirming with the Sprint phone jockey that Google Voice carrier integration would still work when I switched from my Everything to a Freedom Unlimited plan; it ended up breaking the integration and "cancelling" my Google Voice account. It took me about five days talking to Google and Sprint; and only after going back to the Everything plan, I was able to get GV working again.

I just acquired a stock Sprint Z2 Force on Oreo 8.0 and the usual Airplane / Quick Hotspot tap fix isn't working like it did on the E5 Plus and Z3 Play, both of which were also running Oreo - the hotspot never activates on the Z2. APN's are all greyed out and locked and there's no way to add another one as of now. I need Hotspot in emergencies only, but I do need it for those occasional situations. Any other workarounds? Thanks!
Update - APN's can be added (not edited or removed) when the phone first reboots, but adding the dun command to the default "internet x.ispsn" APN - under a new APN with all other settings duplicated (as was suggested) - doesn't enable the hotspot as of now.

VOLTE(Calling plus) Working on Sprint Note 8.

So, I downloaded n app called shortcut master lite cuz I member here on XDA recommended it to fix LTE issues. Don't know of his name but I will edit with his name for credit. But I turned advanced LTE on(u must search for it).Did not notice any difference in LTE. Tried it initially but did not have VOLTE while making outgoing call. But when a call comes in and I answer LTE stays connected. So I went back into the shortcut app and looked up LTE Functionality. Found a setting in there which says VOLTE Test UI then in that setting I turned on the first 2 options which then have me VOLTE both on incoming and outgoing calls. Not sure if it breaks anything but I have mine off cuz not sure if it breaks anything.

3)Launch it and enable Enhanced LTE Services.
4)Next go to com.test.LTEfunctionality and launch LTEFunctionalityTest

Allow it to load
Search wlan calling
Under settings, select the 2nd option.
And add shortcut to home screen. (make sure u've given home screen shortcut permissions)

Wait, now I understand what you wanted to say.
You're saying it should say VoWiFi, while it's saying Volte on my device right?
It's not a issue. It would say VoWiFi, in India where I'm from, but i'm currently in Bangladesh, and here VoWiFi is not supported. Only Volte, which is also in a few operators.
And the reason volte is turned on by using VoWiFi switch is because, probably both are connected to each other
Anyway, I used a guide to get here.
I just posted this guide, coz I can't find that guide anywhere, and many people asked me for a guide, when I said, I was able to activate volte.

!!! I have been looking for a meeting with you for a very long time! Do you have an Indian firmware version? Can you drop the "Call Recording" apk file? You will help a lot of people.
