This is an unofficial build of XOSP Nougat for S4 Mini 3G (GT-I9190), DS (GT-I9192), LTE (GT-I9195), and USC (SCH-R890) only.
The ROM is now based on AOSP-CAF (changed over from Lineage) and while nilac maintained as much compatibility with CM hardware as possible, some unexpected bugs are possible. For the same reason build is not the simplest, so do not expect weekly updates. I will try to do my best to update once a month, but no promises.

What is XOSP?
XOSP is an after-market firmware based on CodeAuroraSources (CAF) destinated for a wide range of Android phones. The name stands for the Xperia Open Source Project and the project was initially created by @nilac for the Galaxy S+ (his old device) years ago when back then the ROM was called S+ Reborn. The vision was to create a minimal bloat free ROM which included Sony Xperia specific apps and various tweaks users would expect from a custom ROM.
S+ Reborn became a success and was eventually ported to different devices so from there it was rebranded to XOSP. Calin worked on the project for 2 years always trying to improve it. Eventually, Because of the fact Lollipop was buggy on his Galaxy S+, he decided to take a break from development until he got his hands on the Zenfone 2 in 2015 and from then he started again the development of XOSP and continued it ever since.

Will try to build an update at least once a month. So far this is the only AOSP-CAF based nougat ROM for our device and it is quite unique so it would be nice to have it as an option. Problem is that because it is CAF based, building it is not a sure thing. I exchanged a few messages with nilac who helped me get going with it, will see how the future goes.
I like this ROM a lot, but AOKP is still my favourite.
You should be able to turn off Ambient display if you don't like it. I didn't look at home button wake option yet.

Hi all, does this ROM have the "USB Internet" option in network settings that enables reverse tethering to a connected PC? Thanks a million if someone who has it installed can check!

@csendre Volume buttons doesn't work when display is off. Also camera crashes when I try to make photo with flashlight

I didn't check volume buttons but you are right about the camera. I' am afraid it could be a CAF incompatibility, I'll try to figure something out if I can.
Update: you are right about the volume too. I will ask nilac if it is normal

Hi, great to see a different rom, CM/lineageos still the same since many years
Great projects dev, thanks

A couple announcements:
- CAF 7.1.2 sources are being merged, should be done relatively soon
- Please read the following announcement from nical on how to request features and provide feedback

Volume is now entered as bug in the bug tracker. I received a response which works as a temporary workaround:
"It is caused by the feature that makes the tracks change when volume buttons are long-pressed when the screen is off. Disabling it in the sound settings makes them work again."

Twrp 3.1.n1-0
New TWRP builds are uploaded
Starting with this version sources are maintained by my as Matt decided to stop working on it.

A few updates on XOSP: Sources are now updated to 7.1.2_r11; the volume button issue is solved, and the home button wake entered as feature request.
I will hold off for a few more days with an update as nilacis looking into this strange camera issue when taking pictures with flash. Apparently no other device has this problem, yet I don't believe it to be device related as we don't have it on LOS based ROMs

Wonderful rom, just need more customized menue
, camera issue still persist

New builds based on 7.1.2 are uploaded
- Volume buttons should work with screen off
- camera FC while using flash is still there unfortunately; nilac is helping me with this, it is very strange issue

@jason972000 will hopefully maintain this ROM for the LTEUSC variant and this thread will be extended to include this serrano variant as well.
Thank you Jason!

What is XOSP and how was it born?
XOSP basically which stands for the Xperia Open Source Project was a project originally created by @nilac for the Galaxy S+ (your old device) and the project was created like 2 years ago when that time XOSP wasn't even existing. It was just S+ Reborn. The main idea was to create a custom minimal Xperia based ROM, by including the essential things which a user would normal use from a ROM.
The S+ Reborn became to be a big success because it was eventually ported on different Xperia Phones and some other Samsung devices and from there the XOSP project was founded. From the XOSP Project also the Reborn addons were created featuring with an Aroma Installer. I worked on the project for 2 years by trying always to improve it constantly, eventually for the fact that LP on your Galaxy S+ became to be quite buggy i decided to stop the development and for about half of year the project was left in stanby till i decided to bring it back again on the Zenfone 2 devices.
The project started growing again so with the Release 4 the project will be completely refactored to XOSP
Revisions and Releases
I've got a different type of releasing, i will not provide weekly builds but just let me show you how the revisions and release type works: The revisions refers like to a sort of Nightly thing i mean the changes included in the ROM are small not as a Release one. All the releases got 5 revisions. So the Release is something even bigger right? Hell yeah! When a new Release is released expect many improvements or new features.

What Represents a Release and what represents a Revision?
Revisions include small changes such as bug fixes/improvments etc.. (Usually there are made like 3 revisions per-release).
Releases are the main "stable" builds with all new planned features implemented and bugs fixed.

Well, first of all big thanks for create rom for us. it is new for me, i have never had sony and i must say i like this rom as "design". i hope it does not have bugs. one thing, that i did not like is colors at white screen, but i changed in livedisplay night 7500k points and everything is ok. Thanks again. if this rom has bugs, i hope there will be more uploads <3 i will wrote if something getting wrong
i found bug. camera is not working correctly, it freezes and restarting my phone example on video recording
knock off works. knock on not. i mean lg g2 feature. there is an option in xospsettings, but no works, i mean blocked screen double tap to wake up, no works
also on video recording do not work flash on or off, it works when i came into the picture camera and then go to video camera, it remembers last time i set to on or off on flash
I'm having trouble with GPS. It's simply doesn't turn on...
stay again stock 6.0 rom xt1095, hope bugs will be fixed in next release of this rom. camera app is kinda useless, it also does not have tap to focus, and images often losing focus. what about other features, i liked it
If you can translate to Georgian language some things. example Gestures, Xospsettings and other is again English Language, when i make default my own Georgian language. Thanks
ambient display and location works for me, but what about knock on, it does not works. knock off works, go to applications menu, then settings, then double tap an empty area to turn the screen off.
Also i have one big ask. can you change applications menu horizontal? i mean as htc phones. because i do not like vertical. or make both choosable
also when i using video camera even on other camera application, my phone freezes and than reboot automatically, maybe it is not fault of video camera? and there is rom's problem because of restart? but it happens only on video recording, and sometimes, not often, but it is borable
also there is one more bug. wallpapers, in this rom there are about 15 wallpapers, 4 is shown, and others are just default, all same, even they are not pictures. i hope soon will be next release. big thanks
please fix video recording bug, rebooting and restarting my phone when using video record, also flash on recording, it not works good. also camera does not have tap to focus, i think there is 4.4.4 camera application, often there are photos without a focus
as i guess this rom is forgotten for sad
anderson mendes
please make v3 version. i wanna so much use this rom. video recording do not works (rebooting phone), also flash not work good on video recording, also there are no many wallpapers, also there is no works double tap to wake up
New build is up

Eventually, Because of the fact Lollipop was buggy on his Galaxy S+, he decided to take a break from development until he got his hands on the Zenfone 2 in 2015 and from then he started again the development of XOSP and continued it ever since.
How do we release updates?
We release new updates for our Official devices each week by providing Delta updates to the users,so maintainers of the other devices can do the same as well if they want to keep up with the changes. We will make full zip releases only once a month except special cases like for example XOSPDelta is not working or something like it.

So far it is working good, But no default massaging app in this Rom.
Browser app crashes , not much customization features available.

In setting data usage in WiFi no option to disable WiFi access in individual app...?? Lineageos rr roms n other roms has it
Battery drain is minimal. Better that original LineageOS.
I nominate this ROM for Lite or Slim ROM.

Osprey works fine keyboar here.
Its an osprey, though i've noticed lately that this happens when the default keyboard settings have been customised like skin changed and popup on keypress disabled..
Anyways a great rom and can't thank u enough...

I use this rom on merlin. Awesome the battery life, rom is very fluid and stable. I have not had any problems with the data or connections, I have not experienced any type of keyboard problems like the ones that comments dhrjbhtt0. I miss a similar function to live display. These are small details that I have noticed:
- I can not turn off the led when charging battery
- there are several translations to the Spanish language
- unfortunately the problem of the battery has just occurred when the battery goes down by 20%, the cell phone goes off and it is necessary Re-start it
- It is not possible to increase or decrease the volume when listening to music while the screen is locked. I tried different applications

Well, the keyboard issue seems to be an aftermath of customising kboard settings. Stock settings do not cause any problems as such.
As for the other issue, let's hope they get resolved in upcoming builds for both devices as updates are going to be weekly now.
Cheers
Any help installing the latest official build dated 29th April. The phone gets stuck at the warning screen and then nothing happens on my osprey.
(For those unaware, an official rom has been posted on the xosp download site.) Also, I had uninstalled magisk and flashed supersu.
Thank u..

If you are looking for Sony feeling there are a couple of alternatives such as PexoMod (which I have been using on my Ultra on AICP/RR and the Max under RR) and it works well. Very well.
By using a Sony theme for Substratum and the Xperia boot animation I would say it is possible to get "very Sony" without any problems. It is actually "more Sony" than their Concept ROM (Hybrid ROM which I use on my XZU). Stamina Mode isn't necessary when power management is done well.
My device is pretty much "Sonyfied" in the same way as my Xperia on either AICP or Hybrid ROM.

Nice man from my making my work look dumb? you can only talk but you don't know how much time and resources a single ROM takes
I am sorry for the misunderstanding here.
My post was not about criticizing the ROM but a comment on the general area of "Sonyfication" since it seems like XOSP is a project reaching its end - both based on the post I replied to and also the XDA Portal.
So my intention was to simply clarify that those who want the "Xperia experience" on their device can have it even when the XOSP winds down.
My post was simply informational about the state of "Xperiafication". I fully respect this ROM and really like the idea of making something that can be flashed once and for all with a "full Xperia" experience.
I have been using Sony devices for a long time and the XOSP ROM hasn't been available for those I have been used (Xperia Z, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z2 lately).
It is also my understanding that most users of other devices doesn't visit the "Sony Device Cross-Development - Apps" area where PexoMod et al reside.
What I can recommend you as a ROM developer is consider looking into making an "Xperified" Lineage OS ROM when XOSP reaches the end of the line. An "Unofficial" Lineage OS build with integrated PexoMod would be an excellent addition and also a replacement for the XOSP. Such a ROM would be broadly similar to the Sony Concept ROM they rolled out for the Z3.
The beauty of Sony is their pretty light modifications, which enable most of their apps to run well on other devices. The major exceptions are their camera and some features such as X-Reality and Stamina Mode. BionZ and X-Reality are DRM based so they require the device to have an intact TA partition with encryption keys.
I appreciate your work so don't consider my posts to be "criticism" of the ROM or what you are doing. They are just meant as information and some suggestions, especially to those who worry about losing their "Xperia experience".
It is my understanding that XOSP originally came into being for Samsung devices as a way of eliminating TW in favor of the slick elegant Sony experience. The basic idea is similar to what happened in the Sony sector where a lot of people will "Xperia" their AOSP/Lineage ROMs.
My own process of "Xperification" started when I got my Ultra and flashed PAC ROM as a replacement for the Sony stock based ROMs and the need arose. So I did a full setup at the time so I think any project (be it a ROM or bringing Sony apps and services) aimed at making different devices "Xperia" is excellent and deserves all praise.
Keep up your good work!
