Blu VIVO XL2 , Any Development ??? :) - Blu Vivo XL

Hello Devs !!!
It has been several months this cheap poor man's phone is out there but I don't see any Dev even looking at it . Phone is pretty good but I hate its interface .
I was wondering if someone will take some time and have some root info with couple ROMs. Some people like me will be thankful.
Thanks

Yeah I'd be happy to at least have root so I can tweak and run root apps and run some stuff it's got a good amount of resources

Yes, I have this phone as well and I'd love to be able to load a custom ROM. I'm not really a fan of the interface either. One of the things I don't like about it is that they installed their own custom "Start" lock screen on top of the "stock" lock screen, which doesn't really look stock. It was easy enough to fix. I just changed the unlock method from "none" to "swipe" and disabled the "Start" app. There are a few other minor issues, lack of updates, the launcher (easily resolved by Nova though) so it would be nice to see some custom support. It is an excellent phone for the price though.

Thanks, actually had found that thread, didn't realize that's the one you were talking about. Was hoping there was a separate forum for the Vivo XL2 - tried the custom ROMs as posted on G+, but the camera issues were a dealbreaker for the kid. Am in rooted stock ROM currently with Nova Launcher cleaning up some of the "Carefree" bullpucky, but would LOVE to get rid of the nonsensical swipe-up-for-notification-settings crap.

In the first post you can search Stock ROM BLU VIVO XL 2 V0070EE / V0070UU. So have ROM 3.18.35 kernel.
In the second post you can look TWRPv3.2.3-0 for 3.18.35 kernel.
In the fourth post you can see Nougat 3.18.35 kernel ROMs. So these ROMs have both (front{selfie} & back) camera working!
I'll stop any question here in this thread!!

[Q] Cyanogen Mod 7.1

Hi this is my first post. Im really sorry if Im posting this again and if I am just tell me to delete it and point me to the correct one.
So i want to install the Cyanogen mod 7.1 that was released yesterday onto my HTC incredible s. however since i have only just had it around a month i know very little about android rooting and how to do it.
My question is what guide should i use? is this the cyanogen mod good. i cna tpost it here it wouldnt let me.
if so i know doing so will void my warrenty and so is it like jailbreaking where all you have to do is restore to stock firmware?
Update: installed using this http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/HTC_Incredible_S:_Full_Update_Guide
worked like a charm
thank you very much.

welcome to the forum. just remember, this forum is chock full of great info. when you have a question, more often then not your question has already been asked. always use the search button first to reduce clutter
this phone is one of the easiest phones to root. just head here. voila. that's it.
yes, cm7 is THAT good. definitely worth it. fast and prob the best battery life out of all the roms.
you can always get the phone back to it's original state for warranty purposes. always a good idea to do a backup immediately after you root.
have fun.
ok thank you very much. Does the guide on the CyanogenMod website include how to restore to stock if you have to send your phone in?

i don't think so. that info is, however, readily available in this forum. just do a search
come to think of it, i think all you have to do is revert to the stock rom that you just backed up after rooting. someone please correct me if i'm wrong.
Does anyone also know if the root method for the HTC incredible S is temp? Does that mean you cant turn off your device? I'm confused.

no, it's not temporary. it will stay rooted until you unroot and return the device to stock/original state. why don't you try it out? it will be a good way to familiarize yourself with rooting, backing up, and restoring.
Hearing of the release of CM7 got me finally around of rooting my phone. This forum offers great tutorials and I managed to root is fairly easily. After rooting I was also asked wheter I wanted to flash CWM and I answered yes. Everything went OK and I was able to try CM7 after 30 minutes or so. The most time consuming operation was creating backup with CWM recovery.
But my opinion about CM7 isn't good. While I like the the effects and other neat customisation possibilities 3 thing turn me off.
First, I really love HTC's phone or dialler application which helps me find contacts by entering their number or trying to type their names. This is the single most useful thing invented on a telephone. As CM7 doesn't support that (only enterning numbers as far as I know) I will not use it.
Second, I wasn't able to connect to Exchange server for some reason
Third, Android Market shut itself down after 10 seconds and repeatedly kept doing that.
---
PS. I would have liked to post this info to developers forums, but as I don't have rights, I couldn't.

The markets fixed by going in to language settings and selecting English again.
Exchange worked fine for me...
Download another dialer application..
I'd choose double the speed, battery life and ram any day over sense
lets not start cm7 vs sense. this thread will never end really, it comes down to individual preference and that's not something we can argue.
cm7 isn't prefect but it's close, imo.
Please recommend a dialer app and I will give it a try Dialer One maybe?

Seeming this is thin and "web-like" is there any chance that we could build a custom recovery console and allow a secondary bootloader into B2G? I know on SGSII there are apps around that allow for duel boot ROMs, seeming Mozi is going to be a light weight….is there any chance we could do this? Also I am thinking if kernel and drivers are the only requirements then could we not symlink from where a "new" kernel is placed as well as the symlinking from the device drivers essentially "plugging in" to the mozi OS?
What if we were to partition a decent amount of realestate in on the SD card to ext4? And then running it in a separate partition? Ext4 is fast, and even if it IS on SD we are dealing with a kightweight OS, would there be major performance issues with doing this? I am running Link2SD atm and all seems pretty well.
I probably have no idea what I am talking about, and really I don't but I am voicing my ideas to see if anyone is thinking along the same lines?

[Q] Lost root after flashing Android 4.3

Hi guys, I know you have tons of rules here and I tried my best to respect all of then by searching for a thread containing info on what in looking for but I couldn't find one. I rooted my phone a couple of years back and have been flashing various ROMs since. About a week ago however I flashed an unofficial android 4.3 ROM by CyanogenMod and after that once I discovered how buggy it was (as per the developer's warning) I decided to flash something else. However I couldn't access my recovery menu no matter what I tried and it looks like I've list root but I can't be sure of that. Ask the root apps aren't working and I got a toast from one of them saying you need root access to use this. Right now what I want is a way to either reroot or maybe there's a simpler way of solving this problem. If I could access the recover mode menu I could use the conventional way of rooting but right now I can't even di that. I'd really appreciate a solution if any of you could take the time out to give me one. Thanks so much and I really hope to hear from you.
I assume you flashed Chas' rom. If you could just read the op.... Chas gave everyone a soultion on a silver plate..

To be really honest I'm not sure whether it was his ROM or not since I got it from a YouTube instructional video. There was a direct download link. Do you think you could please do me a favor and point me in the right direction to the solution? Losing my mind here since it's so buggy

Go to Chas' Asylum thread in Android development, and use the search option. He gave the solution on 8th of August.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
At me it worked.
And saw it posted in a 4.3 thread/post
You have to disable and re enable it in developers option in settings.
And then try root privilege using apps to check if it worked like type su in terminal

CyanogenMod

Hello Everyone, I am new around here.
So about a week ago I got my first ever Android phone (after spending years on iOS) I am extremely happy with the Sony Xperia Z1, it just blows iPhones and iOS away, Let me get to the point haha.
I have done a long and painful process of:
1. Flashing Old Firmware.
2. Rooting.
3. Updating again.
4. Unlocking Bootloader.
So I'm at stage 5 now, I would like to install CyanogenMod. On the site it says C6902 But I have a C6903, will this make a difference? and if so are their any better alternatives to CyanogenMod?
Since I am inexperienced in all this Android and rooting etc (Long time iOS Jailbreak User) I would appreciate if somebody could point me in the right direction on where to go from here. I don't want to brick my shiny new device but I also want to give the device some customization.
Many thanks, I hope everyone had a great Christmas.
Happy new year!
I found out you can install CM on C6903 but a lot of things are broken, the Camera is broken on all levels, but C6903 is supported.
Also try and use the search button for answers, I only recently asked the same question about 8 hours ago.

Good, you know I wouldn't try and get CM on C6903... even though people say it's possible, the issues with it are many. I personally haven't seen anyone put CM on a C6903 device yet... and like I said, the amount of problems with it wouldn't make it fun.
What are you looking for that's so special about CM?

I am enthusiastic about trying something new, Basically I have never tried CyanogenMod before so I would like to chance it and if things go too wrong then I will flash back using Flashtool.
Also Its nice to know this so once the CM becomes more stable I can install it again in the future.
Sorry if im a nuisance, I really appreciate the help

Nearly all development for the Honami goes into CM11, which hasn't been graduated to nightlies just yet, meaning that there are no up-to-date builds available at the moment, FXP252 was supposed to be the first release of Honami CM11, but it wasn't deemed ready for it at this stage.

[SOLVED] Installing a custom ROM on Xperia Z1 using XZDualRecovery

Hello guys. I'm new to the community, but I did my homework and I can honestly say I've spent a good +40 hours on this site in the past month, and it paid off since I'm now the proud owner of a rooted Xperia Z1 running 4.4.2 KitKat with XZdualrecovery which is something I tought I would never do out of fear of bricking my device and the lack of information and support for my rather "slightly rare" C6906 model with annoyances like a non-unlockable bootloader , where the C6903 and C6902 models get all the attention. Anyway guys, I rooted my phone, awesome...but for me, the next step is installing a custom rom, because I feel that the stock xperia Z1 firmware is not enough for my customizing needs, plus I also envy the stock like experience it provides, even more than my Z1. I read up on a few guides for installing cyanogenmod on the Z1, but they all seem to be only supported for the C6903 and C6902 models. Plus, it doesn't help to motivate myself knowing that my C6906 model still has a locked bootloader (apparently) and I've read unlocking the bootloader is a requirement for installing custom ROMs. So, my questions are:
Is XZDualRecovery enough to install custom ROMs? Specially the version with the locked bootloader? Could I run into any issues?
If the answer to the previous question is yes, Are there any good guides concerning the C6906 model on how to install custom roms? (Or more importantly, cyanogenmod? [preferably versions that have been tested on the C6906])
You cannot install anything like Cyanogenmod as it needs an unlocked bootloader
You can install any rom from the development section, just follow the locked bootloader instructions
Now that you have recovery, make a backup and follow the instructions in the thread.
Thanks!

No, and xda mods don't like that question being asked. Best ROM and asking for best ROM threads get closed quickly. Here is why..
If you ask someone which pizza they should buy then people give their own favourites as a recommendation. I like hot, spicy and meaty ones, but if recommend that to you may say "That's disgusting!" you may be one of those people who like anchovies and sweetcorn on their pizza. That may be perfect for you, but I will hate it
In short, you have to try them yourself and see which one suits you best. One bit of advice though, even if someone recommends a ROM to you, its no guarantee you will like it.
Part of the appeal of android is that we can customise so much, so try, test for a week (It takes that long to get an idea of performance and battery) then move on and try another.
Once you have done that, flash your favourite.
