Sometimes, a touch appears on the screen continously after screen turn on.
It doesn't appear always. It appears sometimes.
Once it apppears, it remains for hours.
Could it be a hardware or rom issue?

Probably a ROM issue. A custom ROM is a massive hack that runs on unofficial drivers - it's not surprising that something like this happens.

It'll wipe your data, and it's installing for me right now. I'm thinking about uploading the update here but I'm unsure if it will work for others too. (as-in if it's signed for devices based on their IMEI's)

That's bad but nonetheless, a good news. Uploading the update here won't do anything as the device has to be enrolled into the beta programme and IMEI gets bound with the update. So, that Nokia knows which phones are on beta programme.
Do share your first Impressions after the update gets installed.

I guess the rollback will work just the way beta programme works. You will have to unregister your device and an OTA would be sent to your device to get you back to stable software.

Installed it, and it didn't wipe my data. There's some visual bugs sometimes, but it's probably fixed by clean installing the update. I don't have time to do so at the moment, so I'm unsure of it. Otherwise, it works pretty good! Here's some screenshots: https://photos.app.goo.gl/nj9Zaw1HQWQeOe4l1
Cool! I was not happy with the wiping stuff so I didn't end up flashing it but I'll wait until more people confirm it actually works without wiping.

Nothing new, still looks the same (for me)
E: You can restore the normal navbar in the stock launcher settings (long press on empty space in home screen and press on home settings)

Nokia mentions this on their website that this update can't be provided in some regions on some carriers.

after the update, my icons were removed the brightness is so high i set it on 25%its working good there is no always on display.
Did anyone notice the roll back build update zip? It was v2.13b 8.1.
Switching language gave me a reboot (dutch to english). After that i automatically entered recovery mode. There the phone told me to factory reset because it could not boot or retry booting again.
Retry did the job. (Thankfully..)

Android P is available unofficially. Just search for it on XDA, there are ones in the P8 Lite 2017 forum that will work on this device because we're all part of the hi6250 chipset family. There is also one for the Honor View 10 that works really well once you remove the assert lines from the updater-script file.

It's still have some bugs, but not important for me, and this my daily rom. Wifi and data works, no overheating problem, no long charging problem. No restarts or freezes.

Wow DP 3 is actually usable! Actually starting to feel finished there are some new features that are really nice such as a preference panel that bring all your customization options into one menu. Icon Pack, Wallpaper, Theme, Horizon Light, Clock Style, Fingerprint Animation, and even settings icon and quick settings icon shapes can be changed here. So far my experience is very smooth and running very well. Defiantly able to use this as a daily now.
Strangely enough, This update is usable.
Last update was so buggy that just enabling the pixel pill or gestures would send the rom into a flashing frenzy. https://youtu.be/XD4k8Ldgbxw

I agree, although I don't like the way they've laid out the customisation options. They should be vertical instead of all rammed into one screen like the ugly iOS settings. I managed to get it rooted by rooting the boot.img. Unsurprisingly it doesn't pass safetynet check, ctsProfile shows false.

I had the same problem. I installed twice, and got same message. I'm not unlocked, so I assumed that's why. However, I did install dp1 and data was working fine

I have the T-Mobile version that I was running on the international version and nothing like this happened. Did you SIM unlock before converting or did you use a tool to convert?

I did not unlocked before converting I use the tool , I guessing it needs to be unlocked for it to work

i have mi 9 lite and the default dialer is google dialer insted of miui dialer and there is a lot of problems in this ugly dialer:
1- you can't press power button to silent and turn off screen the screen will light again for incoming call and in full screen
2- you can't search by number i mean by typing part of the number in dial pad
3- you can't record calls
4- it use country code or something like that so you send a message to contact and he reply to new message because the message app sees it as different number
5- very lag and slow app
so is there any way please to uninstall this app and install miui apps for dial and message and contacts i don't care a lot about call recording if that is the problem but for all other reasons

If you unlock the bootloader install xiaomi eu rom or miuimix rom , you will be able to use miui dialer.

Actually you can search by part of number. I just checked it. But the other is true, especially the big lag after typing each letter/number, if you have more than ~50 contacts.

no you can't search by number using dial pad but you can by using search bar that open the full keyboard not the numbers only i used to type part of number in dial pad when i am busy or need to fast call someone but with search bar and full keyboard i lost the speed

Yes, you can.
Does this phone has a proximity sensor (Mi 9 Lite), as I have screen always on when I am talking on the phone. I can't either turn off the screen manually as Author of this post said. On any other Xiaomi devices there is a dedicated setting for Proximity sensor, not on my Mi 9 Lite. What is happening there with such a good phone but such a big bug for a 2019 phone???

Hmm. Strange indeed. My version of phone application is the same as yours. Try maybe factory defaults, first only on the phone application, and if it don't help, reset whole phone to factory defaults.

Yes, it has proximity sensor.
Type *#*#6484#*#* in dial pad, and check if proximity sensor is working ok.

So as I understand from you, you have same Mi 9 Lite (no Mi CC9), but you don't have same problem as me?
I have check that nr, and when I try to test proximity sensor, nothing is happening. It is a nr 5.0 and it doesn't change.

well I don't know what do you mean in first request, But You can install stock rom through recovery or flash it using miflash tool . and yes, you can easily downgrade to miui 10. By the way miui 11 is faster than miui 10 ,but I think miui 10 is solid stable comparing to miui 11.

Yes, I have Mi 9 Lite (EU version, EEA rom, not Mi CC9), and everything is working OK. But if the test shows only 5.0, that means your proximity sensor is broken. The reading should change to 0.0 when you cover the sensor, and back to 5.0 when you uncover it.

Can you turn the screen completely off with power button - so it will stay off even on call when you remove your ear from the phone?
