Hehe, time to give something back for this community :good::highfive:
Edit: remember to backup everything before flashing. I dirty flashed this ROM over stock OOS 4.1.5 via bluespark recovery v35 and it didn't boot back to system. So I booted back to recovery and somehow twrp asked password to decrypt data partition. I was decrypted before. So I installed stock recovery. Wiped everything and flashed this ROM via stock recovery. Everyhthing works now.

Can I flash this zip using TWRP?

Well you can try but remeber to backup everything before flashing. See my previous post.
I would recommend stock recovery for now.

I would really like to know the reasons behind these withdrawns, but thats just me. Thanks for the mirror.

Because there was an issue they missed through QC. OTAs are always incremental/staged just in case something like this happens. This way only small number of devices are affected

Yes I'm interested in that issue that was missed, but we'll never know

I instaled new Twrp blu spark 3.1.1.37 by eng stk.
Full wipe, clean flash the rom, full zip. Recovery ok. No need to reflash recovery..
All apps work for me. Root, everything.

I dirty flashed full zip from encrypted 4.1.5 with TWRP 3.0.4-1 and everything went fine.

I am on OOS 4.1.5 . rooted with magisk and twrp recovery. I thought magisk would help hide root and update using OTAs. I did hide the oneplus update process in magisk hide and updates prompted a 45 mb download.(with root it would say go download the full zip). I downloaded the OTA . but as expected flashing it via twrp failed. is there any way to just do OTA update with root and twrp ? I did see some threads where people went to stock recovery and installed it. is that a simple procedure ?

I just updated to oxygen os 4.1.6 and I am unable to root my device, i was able to root on previous versions using the same supersu file but now it does not work, if anyone has a solution please help me out.

How to root 3T on OOS4.0 ?

Hey,
I bought my phone 2 days ago, after charging it I updated to OOS4.0 through the system updates using VPN, when I got home I unlocked the bootloader but did nothing else afterwards. I'm seeing a lot of threads with people having issues with TWRP and encryption, considering my last device was the OPO and I was running Lollipop (was too lazy to update it ) I'm kinda out of the loop.
How can I root it now that it's running Nougat ? simply flashing the twrp img using fastboot and then flashing the SuperSU zip or is there a different method ?
Any kind of help is greatly appreciated.
Also, one more question, is Xposed working on Nougat ? I had quite a few useful modules on my OPO, wanted to know if that's possible on the 3T as well.
The beta builds of the TWRP which are compatible with the OOS 4.0.0 are available. You can find them from the thread.
If you want to use the Xposed modules, you should downgrade to 3.5.4.

Is it better to install this instead of SuperSU ?
If you are interested in using apps which detect root or a modified system/bootloader (Android Pay, Pokémon Go, some banking apps) then yes. Otherwise, no benefit of Magisk (v10.2) for you and may as well use SuperSU which is simpler to install.

Magisk is open source, and it is also easy to install. You can also install the Magisk modules. It's not a simple root-hide app as many people still misunderstand.
So, with oxygen 4.0.1 the procedure will be the same?
TWRP Stuck Mount password
Greetings guys..
Yesterday I got my 3T and upgraded OTA latest OxygenOS 4.0.1. I was able to unlock bootloader and install TWRP 3.0.3 but when I access bootloader the first screen ask me to provide "Decrypt password" to mount, and if I ignore and slide to start modification I don't have access to internal card (assume its READ-ONLY), just folders are visible but unable to find or install SU package.
I check all the forums but didn't find any relevant information how to get out of TWRP "Decrypt password" issue. I don't want my phone to be encrypted, so I would appreciate if you can please help me to root my 3T.
Cheers

Installed TWRP 3.0.3.1 BETA .... How long does it really take to decrypt new phone without any apps? Just to have an idea. When I started TWRP it asked for password and I used the PIN assigned to login to screen ... now going on for 5 minutes now.
Following on the screen:
Mount
Try Decryption
Updating partition details...
....done
Unable to mount storage
Full SELinux support present

I read that it takes some minutes if you are f2s and encrypted but I don't know how to proceed since I haven't flashed twrp and root yet.

How do you update a Project Treble GSI image ?

Hi friends, so there's a lot about installing gsi images on various phones that support project treble but i cannot find anything about how you update them. I installed OmniRom beta3, via fastboot, on my H9L and 3 days later they put out an update. The rom works fine and i set it up to my preference with magisk and it even shows up as Play certified, so all is good. However, with the update I prefer not to go through the whole magisk uninstall/install again. Anyone here knows how you would update an existing gsi images ? If I use fastboot to load the new update wouldn't that erase everything again, as stated on the openkirin.net installation instructions ? or could i jsut fastboot the new beta3.1 over beta3 and just not do a factory reset as recommended ?
Weird everyone writes about installation and no one things about updates ?
thanks.

for me, yes, because one of the most important feature i need is safetynet to pass. Omni was easier to get it to pass safetynet checks (via magisk) then RR. I also like the way Omni implemented the dark theme, obviously all of these are just preferences both roms are good daily drivers.
UPDATE: so i fastbooted the updated img file with stock recovery and did not do any wipes. All was fine including root and certification.

Note: Dirty flashing is fine if you are running an old OxygenOS version or a ROM based on OxygenOS. If you are, however, coming from a Custom ROM, you must clean flash.

For Non-Rooted Users with a Locked Bootloader and Stock Recovery

Download the full ROM zip and TWRP recovery from the downloads section above
Transfer the full ROM zip and TWRP recovery to the root of your device's internal storage

From the TWRP menu, Install > Select full ROM zip > Swipe to flash
From the TWRP menu, Install > Select TWRP recovery zip > Swipe to flash
Reboot to TWRP recovery
Flash the latest stable Magisk in case you want to root
Reboot to System
Note: First boot may take some time, so please be patient and wait for it to boot.

T-Mobile builds will require additional certification. OnePlus and T-Mobile are partnering to bring all the great future feature enhancements and fixes to both sets of devices in a timely manner as possible. Due to the additional level of certification required by T-Mobile on all software releases, there may be a slight offset but we are working diligently to minimize this period in all instances. To add further T-Mobile OnePlus 6Ts will not be eligible for the Beta Program.

OP Updated :good:
So I just flashed TWRP and Magisk on my OOS 9.0.3.
Am I correct in thinking there is no way for me to flash this 9.0.4 OTA?
EDIT: Checking care_map.txt only system and vendor partitions are modified so I should be Ok to flash?

Ah Ok, my system update says no update available. Guess I'll have to wait until 9.0.4 is available for my device.
If I flashed back to stock recovery could I sideload the OTA? If so you don't happen to have a backup of the stock recovery do you?

Once you are rooted, never sideload or flash incremental OTA, you have to flash full zip only. I think i mentioned somewhere to OTA up to 9.0.4 first and then play with the device as full zip is not available yet. Jusr wait for a couple of days system will prompt download of full zip now that you are rooted.
I will share the link to full zip if i happen to come across it so keep an eye on this thread. OP will always be updated with the latest releases Stable or Beta :good:

I found this two posts relevant for you

This is what the manager of the store I went to told me:
$20 upgrade fee is applied if you get the device in store. If you get via tmobile website there is no upgrade fee; however, you then have to mail back your trade-in phone and the phone will be "inspected" by tmobile once they receive it from you. You can be denied the trade-in credit (and they still keep your trade-in phone) if they find a problem with it.
When you do the in store upgrade you get charged the $20 upgrade fee, but once the store rep has the phone and has "approved" it, your trade in phone is their responsibility and when they "inspect" the phone later once it gets to corporate tmobile if they find a problem the store is charged for the phone and you still receive your credits.

Just an FYI. Oneplus is saying you will not be able to flash the global rom on a T-Mobile variant. https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/steps-forward-oneplus-6t-and-t-mobile-partnership.933398/
"Flashing the international ROM is not possible for the T-Mobile device. Other custom ROMs are possible, the T-Mobile OnePlus 6T has a specific modem signature that cannot be modified.
We definitely want users to participate in the beta program! Working with a carrier has brought new challenges for the team to learn and grow through. So far it has helped us grow as a team and as you all continue to be passionate users we’ll continue to grow as a community. So if i still do this and Still encountering Sound problem i just need to factory reset.
ok i'll try this one, i also see this as a solution about the issue but i don't want my apps to be wipe and install again via backup because it's hassle, that's why i'm trying to get an answer on it without getting a data loss from my current applications installed.
anyways thanks bro for answering my concern. :good:

Its good to make a clean install and start fresh from scratch..

if you encountering any problem after flashing this on your latest FW, try first to factory reset and check if the issue is still the same.

OK, I can confirm a couple things:
1. With this boot.img I have magisk
2. With this boot.img I have TWRP
But...
I have no MAC ID, so no wifi.
After a complete reset, including formatting data, still no MAC, no wifi
Could this be a difference between the international version and the US version?

I had the same issue with international version.
So will this do all the necessary steps to root my phone and add twrp ? Im still stock and unrooted.
If so, anything i need to do prior ?
Yes, make sure you're on first android Q beta and you have unlocked bootloader.

I know there is some confusion from OnePlus as to which oos version is for which device but 10.3.1 is indeed for 21AA global.

10.0.4 also works as it is for EU but it's basically the same thing without all the India features

I have only been on 10.3.1 for a few hours so I can't accurately comment on the battery yet.
If IAM on beta 9 rooted and twrp. can I flash this with twrp ?

do you have the rom on another server? the mega is bad .. I can't download it by the mega
Mega sucks...!!!
Can you upload it to another file server???
I have been running this version for several days, battery lasts about 1-2 days.
Do you use the stock or custom kernel ?
I have had a slight improvement with the radio performance after updating to 10.3.1 GM21AA. In my bathroom, the device used to drop to WiFi Calling but now can stay on cellular. The call quality in my bathroom on cellular now is decent. It shows 3 bars where it once was 1, but that one bar was garbled when on cellular on 10.3.0.

All original, without root or other modification.
I also added an AFH link so the download should be quick there for those of you having issues with Oxygen Updater.
Many thanks for this. Might you have the boot image for this 10.3.1 ?
I rushed myself and rebooted without first reinstalling Magisk 20.3. My phone boots with the new 10.3.1 and works, but I lost root. Magisk Manager 7.5.1 still works, but won't let me install the 20.3.
Many thanks in advance.
I'm OnePlus 7 pro, GM 1917, and now 10.3.1, without TWRP... Oh, and feeling stupid! I absolutely knew to not reboot at that point, and lost track of where I was in the process.
I can't believe how I was Over-thinking this!
I'm good to go. It worked so easily. Thanks for the hand-up.
Thanks
Beta 9 , magisk, and twrp.flashed 10.3.1 ,reboot recovery, flashed twrp installer, reboot to recovery , twrp doesn't see internal storage.reboot system .play store would keep closing , uninstalled magisk app.reboot all is good except twrp....I know I did this wrong.now what to do to get twrp corrected to see storage.? Any help much appreciated thanks....... figured it out thanks anyway
so you guys have flashed to 10.3.1 and then reinstalled twrp and magisk 20.3 without issues? mine keeps getting stuck on the boot logo after i flash magisk. Not sure what i might be doing wrong. flash the 10.3.1 zip, reboot, fastboot twrp, then boot into twrp and install magisk. I've been able to install EX kernel as well and it'll boot as long as I don't try and install magisk. But really need root back! Help!

Everyone should flash new system updates via Magisk. This works flawlessly. If this is new to you, search xda. It's written over and over daily because people are still flashing updates via TWRP and having issues. Use Magisk!

How do you flash updates via magisk? Just download the update locally then patch it? Doesn't that erase all data on the phone?
