Stable Rom for Daily Use - X 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I was going to root my Moto X and wanted to know what recommendations there are for very stable roms currently available. Thanks ahead.

Use Lineage OS, its the most stable one.

Latest stock with xposed or CypherOS works both for me.
Cheers

You mean the one which still doesn't show charging percentage when the phone is off?
Go for Resurrection Remix or AOSP Extended, they've got the most features and they work great (AOSP gives you that extra bit in battery life)

For me the best is LineageOs
I tried a lot of ROMs, but since May for me, a good choice is LineageOs, stable, simple, smooth. All working good, great battery life with greenify.
(The ROM shows battery percentage when phone is changing while it's off) The bug was fixed some time ago. I recommend you this Rom.

Hello again, is Lineage OS stable enough to be used every day. I use my phone a lot for work and can't afford crashes and apps not working.
Thanks ahead.

Its stable enough. If it will not be stable enough for you, you can always switch to another rom.

Which rom date should I try?
Hello, I want to try Lineage, which rom date should I try?

The latest work fine.
This month they fixed some bugs, the ROM of 16 June is working very good.
For root:go on LineageOs page download, on extras you find it, the name is: addonsu-arm-signed.zip
Just flash it after installing lineage
For opengapps I recommend you Pico or Stock
I recommend you to use an usb for installing the ROM,gapps and root.
I flash all ROMs from usb otg, I wipe everything on my phone, except otg.

Most stable custom rom

I'm flashing rom for the first time I have unlocked the bootloader my device is rooted.
I have been reading posts
RR seems the most stable with oos cam included and it doesn't have pocket mode which can lead to faster battery drain.
So can you guys suggest me any rom which is as stable as oos and good camera quality (not working of camera, quality of the picture processed)
May this thread helps others too :fingers-crossed:
Thanks
Nothing has camera as good as stock, so if camera is important to you, stick with stock based ROMs (official OOS, FreedomOS, OP3Lite ...)
That port that is available for RR still has some issues.
Maybe try Paranoid Android, it may have some magic that other ROMs don't due to developers involved. It's supposed to have camera on pair with OOS, but I haven't tried it yet so I can't confirm (and for some reason people don't really talk much about PA). It has all other features of OOS.
But I'd suggest sticking with OOS based ROMs until OnePlus releases camera sources.

If the camera is a non issue than Slim Roms is the best. Fast not cluttered with useless features. But honestly OnePlus has it down with 3.2.7. had my doubts but the have created a ROM that is up there with P.A and Slim.
For me nucleaRom is the best and bug free ROM and you will have the OOS camera

I think the developer has stopped the development for this rom
Resurrection Remix Black Jubel is very stable in my opinion......and it has tons of customization and Accepts the OOS Camera Port so you can get identical Camera quality to stock.

I'm using FreedomOS with blu_spark kernel at the moment, but I'll probably try Paranoid over coming weekend.
To be honest, OOS is actually a pretty good ROM. With Xposed framework it has everything I need.

Hmm...yes 3.2.7 is nice but you can't really compare it to custom ROMs. It's great for its intended purpose (stability and compatibility) but it doesn't have the customization that custom ROMs have...obviously. It depends on what is most important to you.
I'm using OOS 3.2.6 with latest blu spark kernel and I'm getting really good screen on times, like 10-15℅ drain per hour. I also have Xposed installed but I'm only using greenify with it. Imho OOS is just as good as any other ROM, and I have just about tried every other ROM and kernel combination with the exception of the new nougat releases. There are only a few extra options available in the custom ROMs in comparison to OOS and they are mostly cosmetic. I reckon wait till some stable nougat builds have been released and then we might see some improvements. There is also no need to even install freedomOS or OSlite because you can debloat the ROM yourself and learn something while you are at it. Just go to the OSlite page and check the debloat list and then remove the stuff yourself with Titanium Backup. For me it's more fun when I have tweaked the ROM myself, and I guess for others also otherwise we wouldn't even have so many custom ROMs. I have researched the living bejesus out of this phone and I am happy to share my accumulated knowledge with anyone that needs help.
Hi all,
Is there any custom ROM with pocket mode.? I have tried cm13 and RR, but no pocket mode

Paranoid rom has pocket mode I guess..
I haven't tried the rom but I have seen a tutorial on YouTube
I suggest you try h2os v2.0 5th edition. It has the best battery life, even better than pa rom. I still have 93% of battery after browsing the web using wifi for more than 1 hour. It is very smooth as well during gaming, no lags at all.

Looking for a good, fast and stable (with possibility of some customisations) ROM

hello all,
I'm looking for a good, fast and stable (with possibility of some customisations) ROM...
I was with stock until last week. I've now unlocked with htcdev.com (S-ON) and rooted.
I'm currently with Android Revolution HD 93.0 for the past 4 days.
but the rom is very laggy, takes a lot of time to load maps in google maps, to switch between apps, to open / close apps ...
not sure what I can do there... so what would you guys recommend?
my m7 htc:
android version is 5.0.2
sense 6.0
build 7.19.401.30
kernel 3.4.10
Thank you
i'm looking for that too, i think the best option we have is to find a stable nougat rom for daily use.

I'm no expert... but I'm not too confident in android 7 for this phone... maybe I'm wrong...
Well, waiting on the expert suggestions.
TeslaOS Rom is the only Android N Rom without any bugs as far as i know.
Thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/general/test-rom-t3519577
Download Rom https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=133965
and Wake Control Kernel https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=673368273298917630
I can recommended AICP Rom also and LineageOS 14.1. Both roms are really stable and fast. If you prefer stock roms than I can recommend InsertCoin rom or ARTMOD with ElementalX or Xceed kernel
Sent from my One using XDA Labs
i think i gonna give a try to lineageOS 14.1 , i saw many good feedbacks...
Lineage 14.1 is the best for me. I tried resurrection remix but wasnt cool as lineage 14.1
I'm happy with AICP. For me it's stable, fast, has descent customization options and nightly updates. I've tried all available Nougat ROMs and have no complaints about AICP.
resurrection remix 5.82 also not bad. one of the best rom with lot of customizations.
I've been running ViperOne 9.0.0 since it started. Runs well with lots of customisation. Can sometimes slow down depending how much space you have i think but overall very stable with ElementalX kernel imo. It's been my daily driver forever.
I've not tried nougut due to no xposed yet so i can't comment which roms for that.
I can attest that the most stable ROM as far as I can see right now for my M7 is the good ole CM 12.1 Lollipop rom with nano gapps. I use a 2015-10-6 build date release I had downloaded some time ago before CM locked shop. I get the longest battery life, best performance in games, most available RAM, and just the most stable behavior overall. I play Pokemon Go so having an unrooted rom is essential for me. However you can unroot CM based roms I've found easily in general. This time around i just installed iSu.apk (root switcher app I found here on xda), enabled it and restarted my phone which causes you to lose root (which I don't mind).
I've tried several of the Nougat ROMS including Lineage OS 14.1, Resurrection Remix N7 and SlimRom. They all have issues surrounding making and receiving calls for my M7. Some persons have said in the forums they don't have issues where that's concerned though. But i see a lot of persons reporting they do. My phone would freeze and restart after I came off a call at times on Nougat. Regarding Marshmallow... worse. So yes i recommend CM 12.1

I believe I will try AICP 7.1.1 on the M7 as I've recently tried it on an LG G2 D802 & it was fantastic breath of fresh air. Granted I didn't test every function but the speed great, smooth & not a single crash so far anyway. I'm very pleased with the Stability of N so far as I also have them on some original Nexus 7 Tab's and it runs nicely.

The Bug people are talking about only happens if you end a call with speaker active. The next call has no sound until you end the call without speaker (next call will have sound) or reboot the phone. This Bug is present on all N roms.
Any chance to have Android O after release?

Children like to brag toys.
Nitrogen i think
I think dirty unicorns mako 7.1.1 is best rom most stable and most customizable rom there is also it is regular ly updated it is maintained by nitin chobe best n4 rom Dev in my opinion his ROMs are great any of his ROMs should work well for you just pick the rom that suits your tastes/needs
I would say latest ubuntu touch. Its easy to understand with the swipe and have the (web)apps i need while the rom has a good battery life (walking in the city with gps tracking on).
But what I can see is that Lineage 14.1 will probably be most updated like the old galaxy nexus was/is

Yes, they have regular updates and cool features but from my experience they are using too much ram (a little bit under 1GB on idle) which can be annoying.
Also i want to mention that it's not that all good to jump to android N because it lacks xposed and it's not looking like it will come soon.
I recommend Resurrection Remix
Actually I have Nitrogen rom but is most drain battery withoot wifi, bluetooth and lte. Before i used Krexus (On android 6) and n4 working on battery 2x longer and more stable. I think problem is Nougat.

I need the most stable ROM, please!

Hello guys, sorry for the inconvenience, I'm a bit outdated with the development of ROMs, I would like to know which is the most stable ROM of the moment, be it MM or Nougat. Thank you for your attention!
lineage 14.1
I also recommend Lineage OS 14.1. This ROM is stable, performance is better than stock and battery is pretty great as well (in my experience it survived up to 2 days). I hadn't spotted any bugs. Moreover the ROM is getting more stable every update.

I'm happy about Lineage OS. I haven't tried other nougat's ROM so I can't compare but so far lineage have all I need. Yeah, the ROM is stable (I haven't got any crash or freeze yet) and you get an update once a week.
Try this: XOSP-ROM

Please suggest a rock solid ROM (Any Android version)

As the title says, Can anyone please suggest me a really rock solid ROM? My mom use this device, So i cannot personally experiment much myself. Any Android version will work.
I'm currently using XenonHD but it have some bugs like Force closing of Google now launcher (sometimes), Bluetooth don't work for me, Wifi keeps getting disconnected after sleep, Some apps freeze.
I've also tried RR rom (both official and unofficial) few months back but due to proximity bug, Apps force close (quite often on official one), I've discontinued it.
It would be a great help if anyone could post their review about bugs and performance and battery backup of Daniel_hk's Lineage & Carbon build and Vibe_UI final (Or other versions) or any other rom you use as a daily driver.
Your help will be appreciated.
Thanks.
Go for lineage
If you need the most stable one than i think the lineage os 14.1 .according to my exp the lineage os has got the minimum number of bugs with no major ones. As i too had the same experience with the RR rom when i used to use it i can clearly say that the lineage os 14.1 is much better than RR rom...
