Capture+ on T-Mobile LG G6? - T-Mobile LG G6 Questions & Answers

Does the T-Mobile version have the Capture+ app to capture and edit screenshots? Below is a video of it in action on an AT&T version (skip to 5:01 mark).
Capture+ instructions on AT&T's website
https://www.att.com/devicehowto/tut...d/interactive_1500011494?make=LG&model=LGH871
Solution Update: Capture+ is part of the Quickmemo+ app. Capture+ disappears if you uninstall Quickmemo+.

yes the tmobile version has it!

where do you see it? My t-mobile LG G6 doesn't have it. It's not in the quick settings or app drawer.

in quick settings, it's the box with the pencil

That's so weird. I dont have the option. I wonder if its because I'm using Nova Launcher or I turned it off in settings.

No Capture+ in Settings>(System) Shortcut keys. See attachment of screenshot from my phone.
Photo I found on Google search:

I'm using Nova as well....Maybe it was included in the software upgrade that I did back in April..I'm on update H87210h, not sure though

I figured it out. Capture+ is part of LG's Quickmemo+ app. I deleted the app while debloating my phone. Once I reinstalled Quickmemo+, the Capture+ option appeared. Quickmemo+ and some other LG apps are not Google Play. I had to go to Settings>About Phone>Update Center to download it from LG.

Thank you
On the very first day my phone had a problem and text supports only solution was to do a factory reset. After that I no longer had the screenshot button for Capture Plus. This explains it. Thank you for the help

Enabling LG Smartworld Themes on Verizon

It seems Verizon disabled a bunch of useful features that are included on the other carriers software variant. This includes the LG smart world themes. You can get these back pretty easily, it's a similar process that was used on the G4 & G3, and works on the G5 see here:

Since we don't yet have root, and Knock-off's utility is greatly reduced with 3rd party launchers (restricted to notification area), you may find the themes on smartworld a boon to liven up your device.
There are also a bunch of other interesting menus/settings, which are normally hidden, that you can access with an app called "Activity Launcher". Just set the menu to "All Activities" and look around, there's an interesting setting for the auto brightness among others.

it don't work
Make sure you typed everything correctly. My keyboard autocorrected several of those characters the first couple of times I tried it. It works on my Verizon G5.
I tried this with my G5 and it didn't work either. But I found out the issue. The theme feature is only functional with Home UX 4.0 and NOT UX 5.0. With Home 5.0, the shortcut shows up but I would get a pop up error stating 'Application is not Available'. If I switch to Home UX 4.0, the theme shortcut is functional and I can choose to change the theme. Try using Home 4.0 and it should work just fine.
Good detective work!

You will need to download the LG SmartWorld APK file. From chrome browser on your phone, navigate to www.lgworld.com. Before you download the app/ apk file, go to the security settings and ensure that 'Unknown Sources' selection is set to ON. this is because the app is not from the google play store. After you confirmed the security setting is to allow the app to load, go to the website I listed above. Follow the on screen instructions to select the region and language you will use. after that the window should populate with the Download LG SmartWorld selection. Select it and you will see the pop up notification to start the download. After download is complete, another pop up will show to Install the app on you device. select Yes.
Once the app is installed, open the SmartWorld app. Your going to have to download the UX4.0 home screen. You may need to create a log in. Upon start up of the app, there will be a pop up display instructing how to get the 4.0 Home screen. After that, you can follow the instructions listed in the OP of this thread. Hope this helps. :good:

I am not a developer, but I'm here learning from you all. I did it and it worked , you guys are amazing , after the update (Android 6.0/ LG G3 D850 working on T-Mobile) my LG Smartworld was useless. Now, I'm able to use themes I have previously downloaded. Thank you so much, you guys rock :good:
Can someone post the home ux4.0 apk? Searched smartworld and can't find it. When I follow the direct link to the smartworld download page for the launcher from androidcentral smartworld FCs.

The reason you can't see it in Smartworld is because Verizon doesn't support the LG Home & app drawer, according to LG.
And can't pull the apk from /data without root. Sorry.
Figured that's what it was. Damn you big red! Got the apk from an external source, followed the instructions works fine. The home themes list is embarrassingly short on smartworld, probably also because verizon and reasons.
Thanks, this also worked for an ATT G5. Incredibly stupid that they removed the theme engine...
I'm still having issues with lg smart world, everything I download from there restarts the smart world app. It never downloads anything theme wise or lg theme wise, I've the app shortcut like it's said here to do but still no themes download, only wallpapers any ideas?

Did you select all option to theme or one by one?
So after you select the s8, it will automatically show you options of stuff that is installed on your phone, you can select multiple then install them. Also you can find a theme in be play store called swift for Samsung. It is actually better because the overlays there are designed for the Samsung stuff. Hope this helps. Try it and let me know.
I noticed when i restart my phone, some overlays (eg YouTube Twitter tumblr chrome) get back to the original theme and I have to reinstall the overlays even though it says up-to-date. Does it happen to you guys?

not sure wth is going on, but i'm using substratum with magisk rooted on nemesis rom, it's saying application successful but the settings menu is still white, notification window and QS icons are still white, only the dialer and a few other 3rd party apps got themed using swift black oreo samsung
I had some of my overlays reset on restart the first time. I reinstalled and now they seem to be sticking. YouTube gave me some issues, too. I didn't know about the Samsung variant, so I have the normal Swift Black. It seems to be working under S8 option now. Maybe that is what caused my little glitch.
It was annoying, but I thought it was going to change my notifications, too. It took another 3 hours of searching to get rid of the white notification background. Ugh. But it is worth it to use an almost all black phone.
I will totally be sharing substratum with my friends and family.
I do not take credit for the link, I got it in a YouTube video :

It's working from me from a neighbors computer. It takes you to an all black page and then prompts for the download. There is nothing there. Works from a PC or directly on the phone. But there is nothing on the actual page.

Reminder icon

I saw a YouTube vid last night where this guy had a Google reminder icon on his home screen. I was trying to figure out how to do it? I tried anycut, no go. Anyone got any ideas?
Are you referring to using Google Assistant and making a reminder on the home screen or just making a reminder from any app to the home screen?
If it the latter than this video might help. Even though its for a S8, I just tried it with the Note8 and it works.

Smart fitting service

Hello,
I just received my note 8 from getting the screen replaced. I have noticed that in the YouTube app, the smart screen fitting service is not working and the icon to fit the video to screen is also missing. I enabled all disabled services, which didn't help. I uninstalled the YouTube app to return it to factory version, but that did nothing also. Does anyone have a solution?
Thank you

Question Hide app feature not working

hi, I'm trying to enable the "hide app" of ColorOS 11 on my Oppo Find X3 Pro (global).
I can correctly select apps to hide, set up the access code (for example #1234#), but after that the apps are still visible on drawer and homeage. And if I digit the access code on the launcher, nothing happens. I suspect the features is not working because I have google dialer and not the oppo one so maybe the feature to manage the access code is not implemented there.
Do you have any clue on how to fix this? or does the "hide app" works in your phone?
This moment...when you are trying to hide Tinder from your GF ◉‿◉
Just kidding ofc xD
On my phone it works flawlessly - i have an oppo dialer.

Hi. Did your phone come with oppo dialer?
actually it was my fault... I forgot the golden rule of IT
Just rebooting the phone (I didn't reboot after activating the hide app feature, but it was not specified in the instructions) made the hide app feature work.
The only minor glitch is that on google dialer, after I enter the access code #xyz# and the hidden app menu opens, next time I open the dialer it still has the access code visibile and I have to manually delete it.

Reboot in my case was not neccessary...but turn off/turn on is first golden action in IT ᕙ( • ‿ • )ᕗ
actually this problem is not solved. After each reboot it works flawlessy, but after some time (maybe 1/2 day; I don't know exactly) it stops working. When I enter the access code on dialer, nothing happens, until next reboot. I suspect the issue is related to ColorOS policy to kill/suspend apps (maybe the one that manage hidden apps is suspended), but didn't found any way to fix this issue. Do you have any clue?

Sorry to hear that.
I suggest removing google dialer temporarily to check whether it is an issue with the firmware or google dialer.
After that let us know.
Btw. Have u installed google dialer during phone initial setup or after?
As a workaround I suggest using external app to hide applications - they worked great for me before. Just use google play store and search for "Hide App"

actually google dialer is the default one from factory, I don't have oppo dialer (and I don't think I can even install it being a system app). From what I understood, the fact that some unit have oppo dialer and others (like mine) google dialer depends on the region. My unit is an european one (italian).
I will try external app, thanks for your suggestion.

So I finally got the update for ColorOS 11 on my Oppo Find X2 Pro yesterday and so far I like it. However, there is no way to auto-hide the navigation buttons.
I've tried navigation gestures but just cannot get used to them (I will try again some time I promise), so I'm back to my trusty navigation buttons. However, unlike ColorOS 7,i cannot find the option to automatically hide (or press a button to hide) these when in apps, etc. so I now can't have a full screen experience.
Has anyone found how to do this yet?

hide apps milestoneapply :
Long-tap on any empty space on your home screen.
In the bottom right corner, tap the button for home screen settings.
Scroll down on that menu and tap "Hide apps."
In the menu that pops up, select any apps you want to hide, then tap "Apply."
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, our R&D Team has already started working on it to get this issue fixed. Rest, please be assured this issue will get resolved in next software update.
However, until then, you may also try alternative way for accessing the hidden apps by following below steps:
1. Device Settings > Fingerprint > Fingerprint for hidden apps quick-start
2. Select any registered finger (best option to use rarely used finger to unlock the device so that it won't open every time)
We thank you for patience and understanding.
