how to prevent certain service from being closed - Xiaomi Mi 5 Questions & Answers

Hi all
Is there any way to prevent MIUI from closing an app that run as a service ( there is no actual app running when you check recent apps ) so you actually can't lock anything
The nHead notifications pubble is a great app but I can't find anyway to keep it running forever other wise MIUI will auto close or even when I clean memory
I'm on stock global latest 8.2.2 with no root
I have tried completely disabling battery optimization but no luck
Also the exception list in the cleaner security app is useless as I can't add any app to exception
Please any advise is appreciated
Thanks

Security>permissions>autostart.
Enable autostart for that app
From battery saver turn off ultimate mode.
STOP USING THE CLEAR ALL BUTTON IN RECENTS TAB. Never do this.
From developer options set memory optimization to off

Are there any negative affects to enabling both these options?

It depends on whither or not you're dependent of background running apps to do stuff, this would make many of those auto stop or stop posting notifications obviously, but that's the whole point of it *duh* 😁

Doesnt Doze already do this? I was under the impression that this just initiates doze sooner?
No. This is more aggressive. When i tested it on the OP3 betas it would kill Nova launcher off causing redraws. I assume it will do the same to any other third party app at least, meaning you won't get notifications either. You can whitelist apps though so if there are certain apps you need to get notifications from just add them. I would do it with any launcher as well.

For some reason whitelisting in aggressive doze doesn't seem to work. Still miss my Timely alarm app. Or tiles app for nougat tiles in the notification bar.

Auto-closing apps in background on Nougat

My Oneplus 3T is autoclosing apps that I am using while running, they are running in the background to give me timing and track my GPS, they are just randomly closed.
I have disabled Aggressive Doze and Auto-close high power apps but it is still happening. Is there anything I can do to prevent this?

Yes, activate the lock (top right / multitasking screen) or flash a custom kernel (like: https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...ernel-franco-kernel-r1-28th-november-t3508904) which supports more background apps (limit raised to 60 from stock 32)

Thanks, I didn't know what the lock button was for. I'll try it next time I go running!

hello, does the lock solve the issue, could you please confirm ?
There are some hidden settings which might cause this
1. Apps - Setting - Apps auto-launch . Make sure it's turned off
2. Advanced - Recent app management - Make sure Normal clear is selected.
There is option in setting that close the application as soon you clear it from recent apps ....Setting/system UI/advanced
...Make sure it desabled.....Enjoy your device
I can't find any such setting. Which phone are you using now?

You have to start system UI tuner then you will be able to see this setting that's why

How about battery optimization setting? apps > gear > special access > battery optimization > apps in Not optimized list?
Yeah, I know. There's Doze, Aggressive Doze, and this Battery Optimization.
I'm having the same issue. Tried Franco Kernel and it didn't help.

I have tried locking Pokemon Go and it seemed to be working until today when it was killed in the background and I had to reload.
I'm not sure if this is a PoGo issue or a OnePlus issue.
I have now turned off battery optimisations for PoGo to see how that goes.

So far none of the solutions listed have worked for me. I have same problem with Pokemon Go, Lyft, and Uber. I'm on stock 7.0 not rooted. I tried the Beta 7.1.1 and no difference.

I started my torrent download and i slept as it was downloading in background, but in the morning the download dissappear how to fix this
Same Problem
I'm also having the same problem with PoGo. I can't find this lock button.
I have the same issue with some apps, including PoGo and Firefox and probably Discord (chat application). I bought this device with 6 GB to have not these issues. I'm quite disappointed. The issue occured with Android 6, with what the device was shipped, and with the latest Android 7.1. Maybe it doesn't have 6 GB at all and they did cheat me?
The lock button on the task manager screen does just prevent apps to be swiped away in my opinion.
i have the same issue when playing with pokemon go. very annoying. especially when its connected to my pogo plus. never had an issue with my s7e.
glad i'm not the only one. NPR app closes by itself when I'm listening to it.. I've noticed flipboard closing while i'm using it as well.
Just use a custom kernel, stock one has a limit on 32 max apps open. Other than that the solutions are those given already (Lock icon, disable battery opt for that app, disable doze, etc.)

Battery Optimization not available

Does any one have any idea how to disable doze for apps in which battery optimization is not available? I am trying to disable doze for Download Manager because whenever the screen turns off the file stop downloading. Any app or any method to disable doze on battery optimization not available apps?

That is not an app thing. That is something google added to save battery. I found it when I was looking to disable doze completely in the rom I run. So you will have to compile your own rom with the needed changes.

Question Power saver settings?

I want to disable power drain notifications for some apps, like the music player. Did not find a way to customize this.
Another thing: it looks like it has an adaptive power saver but it's more aggresive than the Android stock one. It sometimes takes 1 day or until I open the messaging app to receive messages. Is there a custom setting somewhere that I'm missing? I've just enabled the adaptive power save that I also have on my Pixel, which worked ok. No 'extreme power saving' features have been activated.
Which system mode are you using? The most extreme is the ultra durable mode. Advanced is the customisable mode. I'm using ultra durable (with some changes), adaptive battery and even a 3rd party app called Naptime and have no problems receiving messages.
I was using the standard (dynamic) mode, then switched to advanced and disabled all of the options. Now, after the latest system update, it works better, but was wondering is there anything that I can do. WhatsApp and Signal both took hours to sync with the phone screen turned off.
Oh so you need apps to sync in the background? I thought you don't receive SMS messages lol. If you already disabled "force restriction to background sync" in advanced mode's settings, check if WhatsApp and Signal are optimised in apps & notifications>special app access>battery optimization

Any way to force an app to stay alive in the background?

So, on my old OneOlus 7, i would simply start the app, lock it from recent apps drawer, minimise it, and it'd run in the background for as long as i wanted. Even if i played a game or do anything, the app would run no issues.
On Rog 3, the app is closed randomly after 10 seconds or 5 minutes.
I have every background restriction i could find, disabled. Armoury Crate has Memory cleaner disabled as well.
Any method to keep an app running minimised in background guys?
Add the app to OptiFlex.
In app settings:
- Background Restriction = Disabled- Battery Optimization = Disabled- Background app management = Disabled
Also, if you need the app to automatically start on every boot/reset, add it in Auto Start Manager.
That's it.
Already did all these.
It's still beeing closed damn it
