Notable app on Emui 5 - Huawei P9 Questions & Answers

Hi everybody
is anyone using the Notable app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.icechen1.notable) on Nougat?
It is a neat reminder app that allows you to take quick notes that sit in the notification panel, which is very convenient as you have a constant notification icon reminding you and you can access the note-notification from anywhere.
Anyway I have a problem with it:
I think I set all options not to have it closed on sleep (in phone management and in the app settings), but still sometimes when I wake up the phone the notification has disappeared.
I get it back as soon as I reopen the app, but obviously, it being a reminder app, having to relaunch it every while makes it kind of useless.
Do you have any suggestion?
Either for a solution or for a similar app that I can try.
Thank you

[APP] LG 2X/Black Notifications

Hi everyone !
LG 2X/Black Notifications is an app that handles incoming notifications and uses the LED buttons on the device to notify the user of any missed notifications. LG Optimus 2X (P990/P999/SU660), LG Optimus Black (P970) and LG Optimus 3D (P920) is supported. It does not require root if the required files has the proper permissions, if they do not root is required to change them (currently the latest update for T-Mobile G2x and LG Optimus 3D). It should be usable on all ROMs (not tested though). CyanogenMod7 has its own LED-notifications which has to be disabled if you wish to use this app.
Features
Built-in support for Gmail/SMS/MMS/Missed calls
Support for any activity that generates notifications by using Accessibility
Configurable pulse and vibration for every notification
Set the default touch LED brightness
Charging indicator
How the app works
The app is in an idle state and will do nothing until the device receives a notification.
When an notification is received and the screen is on and not in lock-screen, the accelerometer sensors will be started and used as a way to detect user activity. If the sensor is triggered the feedback will be cancelled. If the sensor is not triggered and the screen is turned off the feedback will start.
If the screen is off the feedback will be delayed for 2 seconds. The reason for this is because some notifications might turn on the screen and in turn will cancel the feedback, so the delay will hopefully prevent this. If nothing happens during the delay the feedback starts at once.
The feedback will repeat until it is timed out or the screen is turned on.
If you have any questions and/or bugs to report about the app don't hesitate to post a reply to this thread or send me a message and I'll answer them as soon as possible. I'm also open for suggestions of features to implement. However due to limited time at the moment new features may take a while to be implemented.
Download
For more information and free download check it out on the Android Market.

It's at the bottom of the first post, I've clarified it a bit now.
Thanks!! I've been using this since beta 0.3
Just a request...
Can accelerometer be disabled ? Cos i may be picking up the phone but not looking at the screen at all.
And, can the App icon be reverted to have transparent background (like in the early betas)
Cheers

An option to disable accelerometer could be added, but then you would get the pulse for every incoming notification even if you've looked at them (if you were using the phone when you got them). The accelerometer is disabled when the screen is off or in the lock-screen (if you use another lock-screen than the default this might not be true though) so that if you receive a notification and then move your phone around without unlocking it the pulse should still start. So generally the accelerometer shouldn't be a problem, but if you really want an option for it I could add one
I changed the appearance of the icon since it couldn't be seen on Market because it has a white background. I also preferred the old look But it might be possible to fix it somehow, I'll note it down and look at it when I have time.
Nice app man... has solved all problems with notifications led
Thanks
managed to work, would prefer a led like i had in my X10 =/, but its great
So far works great. Thanks for the share mate! I'll try it for a couple more days and I'll be sure to leave you a comment in the market.
Nice App!
Keep going!
thanks for the effort man!
hi
really nice app
After the most recently update of Handcent SMS it's possible to choose Handcent as the default messaging application, and by then disable the stock messaging application. But when you do so, LG 2X/Black Notifications doesn't work when you receive a message. Do you think you can fix this in a future update?
This app can "listen to" other application's notifications. Did you try to enable the "monitoring" for Handcent ? (notification > select monitored activities)
Great work!

Hi,
first of all i would like to say a big thanks to the developer xigzil of this great app, it always worked reliably on my LG P990.
Now i have changed my device to Samsung Galaxy S2 and wanted to ask xigzil if is possible to make this app work with?
I would really appreciate it and with a high probability of many other too.
Thanks in advance.

For the charging monitoring can you make it so that as the charge gets closer to 100% more of the LEDs are on.
For example 0-30% the menu LED is on 31-60% Menu and Home LED on. 61-90% Menu Home and Back LED are on. And 91-100% all 4 LEDs on. Somthing like that.
OR even if they could even pulse kinda like the battery icon at the top of the screen does where it will fill in blocks (if that makes sense)
Suggestion
Hi,
I love this application. But I have a suggestion. I have Go SMS Pro and the screen turns on when I receive a message. After the screen turns on, the notifications stop, even if I turn the screen off!
Could you add an option to make the notification works until there aren't any notification left?
An example, I'm at work and I receive a message, I turn the screen on to see who send me a message, but I don't read it. It stays unread (the notification in the top bar stays there). And then I turn off the screen to see the message when I have the time. But the notification stops. I what the notification never stops until I read the message. I don't mind if the notification is working even if I using the phone.
Thanks

disable the disable!

Is there a workaround yet to stop Android Auto from disabling the phone.? Once I'm connected to the car I can't see any email notifications (sound/vibrate/LED). It's really irritating and means I have to disconnect my phone every 15 minutes to check email!
Thanks.
Isn't the whole point of AA not to look at your phone every 15 mins while driving ?

You can hit the multi task button and open a recent app. Keep your email client open in recents and check it at stoplights.

That's it! Brilliant thank you. So simple but hadn't tried that. I've now installed the caffeine app which also keeps the screen on permanently when connected to a USB. That way the email notification LED light now works when in Android Auto mode.
Thanks again

Or not. That's kind of the point of Android Auto in the first place is to get people off of messing with their phones while they're driving.
The only solution that I am aware I was to buy an Android Wear watch. All notifications still come through on the watch even when connected to Android Auto.
Press multi task button then press home, quickly select app or open app drawer.
I use this method with Note 4

After reading this I also installed Caffeine, it was the perfect app I was looking for to prevent my screen from turning off.
I enabled my email on Android auto unit, and I receive email notification on that..

Hello and sorry for reviving such an old thread.
I have used for some time the trick suggested by @ireknole with a phone having hard buttons. My new phone, however, has soft buttons and Android Auto disables on purpose the multi-task button. (Mate 10 Pro, Android 8.0).
I have no other option left now to check my phone while AA is connected to the car and running. I need to check the phone for searching for a song or my wife needs to change the song while i'm driving - plus search the internet or whatever else she feels like on long roadtrips.
However, I can still access the notifications drawer and all the shortcut buttons found there (i did not give AA permission to draw over other applications).
Does anybody know:
1) How to place a custom button in the notifications drawer which specifically does that: activate multi-task function or any other function to just put AA in background and allow me to access other apps?
2) How to forbid AA to disable my multi-task button in the first place?
Thank you!

I haven't found a way to get the multitask button to reshow, but I have a built in app on my Samsung S8 that allows me to swipe from the edge of the phone and select the "shortcut" "recent apps" that acts like the multitask button. There may be an app that's similar in the play store that lets you open it with a swipe and map a "recent apps" shortcut as an option.

another way is to install AAWidget. it display a widget on your Android auto screen.
but this only work for AA2.9 since google disable third party apk in AA3.0
AA widget will list down mails, whatapps messages etc as long as theres widget for those apk.
make a clone and aawidget and you can havemultiple widget to read your email/whatsapp etc
but you cant read full email or messages if the email or messages too long. just good enough to check what are the incoming email/messages
Thank you for your answers!
I did not try your solutions because in the meanwhile I found a way to gain complete control over my phone using Tasker.
For anyone interested, create a new profile in Tasker, set the trigger to Apps->Android Auto and the task to "Go home".
What this setup achieves is showing the home screen whenever AA tries to pop up on screen, which solves all the problems
I can use my phone as if AA was not running at all, while AA is completely functional on the car's screen.
I use AA 2.9.57xxxx.
If you are on Nougat you can add a custom tile using the regular android api to launche the home launcher activity. But please don't post any source code or ready to use apk somewhere. This should be something for the "pros" if its too easy to use they come up with a way to block the notification drawer

I just started using AA on my Nexus 5X running 8.1. AA hides the multi-task button, but if you swipe up from the bottom of the screen; the buttons re-appear for a few seconds and you can select it again.
My problem is that AA sets the screen timeout to 15 sec. So when I pull over to check/write an email; the screen constantly shuts off. The Nexus 5X is no longer a "fast" phone, so starting OWA (outlook) takes more than 15 sec. I've gone into the phone settings after connecting the phone and changing it back to 2 min., but this setting will re-set the next time I plug the phone in again.
Latest version and the version before it (3.1 is latest, can't remember exactly what the previous version is) has changed this.. you can now just swipe up on the phone and access it normally when it's connected to Android auto.

playstore notification randomly flashing up in top bar for a split second.

Hi all,
I am currently using a P30 Pro but I had this same issue on my p20 Pro so wanted to post it here.
Randomly throughout the day I see something in the notification bar at the top that catches my eye. When studying this a bit more and screen recording I see that it is the Google play store notification icon. It flashes up for a split second and then gone and there appears to be no logic or patten to it appearing. I tried to leave the notifications bar pulled down to see ifi could see what it was doing but it is to fast to register an action for me to view and appears as a quick half pull down on the list.
Has anyone else experienced this and also if you have do you know what's causing it and how to stop it.
Thanks

Try to install Notification Log (or any other app that collects notification history) from the Play Store and see if it's able to cath that notification in order to provide more details
Great idea thanks,
I will give that a try and see what happens.
I get the notification flashing up a few times a day at least so hopefully it's long enough to register on the app.
A notification app doesn't record the action I have tried it. It seems to occasionally flash up when opening an app or closing one but not all the time and not always the same ones.

Mi 9t Pro MIUI 11 - notification issue and question

Hi there.
I don't know if it is normal, or not...
I bought a calendar app.
I was not able to receive any notification (bubble + sound). I could receive them if I clicked on the app to run it tho...
So I tried everything and now, it works !
Through, I need your help to see if everything good and seems normal for you.
I had hold my calendar app and "app info". And then, I had go to each permission and enable what I have colored in orange circle :
Battery saver https://imgur.com/OPoSxPL
Notifications https://imgur.com/uyP3axZ
Other permissions https://imgur.com/ssLgM0N
Enable auto start https://imgur.com/mEIyeZn
And then, enable two settings https://imgur.com/2lHHy29
And now, I'm able to receive all notification (bubble + sound) when I kill app.
Also it works if I restart the smartphone and unlock it to go to the home screen. But it doesn't work if I disable "autostart"
I have to do the same with messenger, reddit app.
Please, let me know if everything seems normal for you.
Should I do it with all social app ? Like facebook, whatsapp, snapchat, instagram ?
How about the drain battery ?
Thanks very much (excuse my english)
I had the same problem with yours when my first time using miui. I did the same steps with messanger apps (etc whatsapp & telegram). Plus I locked the apps in the recent app tray. It definitely helps with receiving notification on time in those apps.
I find, that I have to enable more or less all the options to be sure I will get notifications.
What you show on the pictures is OK.
My battery lasts 2 days if I use it normally with some Candy Crush, email, Instagram,... 5-6 hours of screen time
Android 10 broke my Amazfit and Mi Fit notifications. It only works if I uninstall and install again.

Screen time is time screen was on.
You "lock app" by pressing left on screen button to see recent apps, long press app you want to lock, select lock icon.

Unidentifiable notification at six in the morning every day for two months! Damn....

My Huawei P30 Pro android 10 - Emui 12.0 - in stock, for two months, every morning, between 05.00 and 06.00, - despite the "Do not disturb" setting being activated on time
(activation / deactivation times checked several times) wakes me up with a damn banner-free notification that would identify the app responsible for the notification.
So it's not easy to identify and deactivate the responsible app out of the 100 installed - unless you do a hard reset and two days to reset.
Obviously it's not the alarm clock.
I uninstalled the 3/4 apps that I thought might be responsible without success, and tried to use logcat - but I was unable to set the filters to isolate the problem.
I would be grateful for a suggestion. . . Please . . .
Go into the settings of each app and check which ones allow notifications. There are apps that will filter this out for you. Until you do this, you can change the notification to "no sound".

Thank you for your answer,
I'm not sure I understand your suggestion, because I've already done what you suggest, checking the 100 apps installed one by one.
Perhaps due to my mistake in interpreting the settings, or due to inattention I have not found any app with notification settings different from the others ....
There are many apps with active sound notifications: most of them. It is not easy to understand which app is responsible.
Could you explain better, please?
For example
Notification Blocker & Cleaner - Apps on Google Play
Keep the notification bar neat and clean
play.google.com
or
Notification History Log - Apps on Google Play
Notification History Log is the powerful notification tracker! Restore messages!

If you don't say what the banner says, it's really hard to track it down
Thank you all !
I confirm, it is a notification without a banner! So there is nothing to deactivate.
I'll try the Notification History Log suggested by @ze7zez - Thanks!
I am amazed and curious to receive notifications at times when the "do not disturb mode" is active.
Setting that I deactivated and reactivated for the occasion, hoping to resolve, unfortunately without success.
These days since my last post I have been doing a lot of research on the phone without discovering anything. The last operation I did in the notification settings, was the deactivation FOR ALL apps of the sound notification and the definitive uninstallation of Blokada which has a permanent notification without time (maybe the updates of the db?), and it seemed to me to have solved.
Since the sound notification of my bank's app is important and necessary, yesterday I reactivated it. Punctually this morning at 07:30 - on "do not disturb" time - I received a sound notification from the bank. So it seems that the responsibility of the sound notifications within the "do not disturb" range is precisely of the "Do not disturb mode" which perhaps does not work as it should ....
thanks to the app recommended by @ze7zez (Notification history log) I discovered the app or rather the apps that generate night sound notifications, despite the "Do not disturb" mode active.
Eg. tonight at 02:10 I got a notification from Gmail.
So the flaw is not in the apps, but in the "Do Not Disturb" mode which no longer works. Now I have to figure out if I can restore the correct functioning, or if I have to disable the audio notification for each app.
