960 FPS video showing OnePlus 5 display refreshing inverted compared to Pixel XL &S8+
The 57 second video is scrolling with the OP5. Notice how it refreshes bottom-to-top, opposite of how it should be refreshing.
The 35 and 34 second videos are the Pixel XL and Galaxy S8+, refreshing top-to-bottom, as they should be.

Into the trash the OP5 goes!

Oh no... I was hoping for a software fault but that... [emoji47]

If you watch some disassembly videos you will see that the screen on the OP5 sits upside down comparing to OP3 and other manufacturers.

Between all the statement and confirmations I am still not sure what to do I have 4 days left to send it back. I am still love this phone for all other part but the jelly one is just annoying and we still don't know if this is fixable in any way. In one way OnePlus says it's natural and normal and in the other way we hear from the support that they "work" on it !. It is getting me more and more on my nerves.

support words cannot be 100% taken..
the official statement from oneplus says clearly that nothing will be done to deal with the issue..
so its decision time indeed..

Really I thought from the day that I purchase ! Is there on the official site a statement that it begins with the receive of the device ?.

I don't have this issue at all on my Phone... it's likely that you guys got a defective unit. Return and get another one!

There is a possibility of fixing it i.e if Oneplus decides to ask Samsung for a different fw for the displays, unlikely it's going to happen though.

i'm glad i dont notice/have this issue on my OP5 - love the device so far, coming from a note 3

Do u have to pay the shipping costs if u return the device?

I've posted a thread of the OP5 and OP3 with a photo taken through polarised sunglasses where the 5 has all the whites separated into colours and the 3 does not (nor has any other amoled I've owned)
Also, the comparison you show is excellent. There's something up with this phone and I am certain to return it (mainly as I can't look at it wearing sunglasses!)

What's annoying for me is that I haven't received the phone cause I love in Trinidad and I'm getting the phone next two weeks

I don't understand this issue. Whether you refresh from top to bottom or bottom to top, depending upon which direction you are scrolling to, you will see a slight repaint of the screen as the text from previous paint faints. What's the problem? The slowmo videos from OP show the same effect for Samsung galaxy phone. So, all phones will show this depending on which direction you scroll (as long as its the opposite of the repaint direction). Are you telling me that you only scroll in one direction on your phones?
Has anyone tried speeding up/slowing down animations (in developer options) to see if this effect is reduced/increased?

Our phones are designed in a way that most of the scroll is done from top to bottom because informations are listed from top to bottom. So yes, it will be a lot more noticeable with a refresh from bottom to top than with one from top to bottom.
It could also be linked to the fact that our brain are used to devices refreshing from top to bottom.

Maybe it is just me but what does the placement of a screen has to do with this.
If I use a iPad etc I use it in all ways upside down on the side and I never notice it . Having that said if I use my phone upside down it should work normal?
I also have a oneplus 5 and I come from a oneplus 3 and I never notice a thing what is mentioned here. If the problem was that obvious don't you think everybody would complain and the media would burn oneplus ?
Also asked my wife and she owns a s7 edge and does not feel or see any difference.

I'm not sure how you think they haven't been burned. Tens of thousands of people have read and seen the issue on here, Reddit, and OnePlus forums. I pretty much guarantee your device has it. You're just not sensitive to the issue.

And how sensitive do you have to be to notice this so called bug.
What do I have to do to notice the yelly bug.
I find this one of the weirdest comments ever assuming I have it to but I am not sensitive enough.
And how many are tens of thousands I read a lot on XDA and a bit on the oneplus forum.
And I see a lot of the same users posting messages about this.
But anyway luckily I am not as sensitive as you and no I do not feel offended more blessed haha

Few minutes before seeing the videos in this thread I was already thinking about the fact that it is probably an issue with screen scanning and the fact that, because of the extra code in the driver, some sort of inverted screen scanning (similar to what you have in CRT displays) is happening.
On another note, I noticed the same effect with my Sony Z5 compact when rotating the screen 180 degrees and it's not that bad. I actually like the effect! If gives the interface a funny extra animation.
Just my two cents...

[Q] White GNote AMOLED Display, any issues?

Many have complained about problems with the GNote's Display. Does anyone here have the white version of the GNote? How's the display?

I have/had a white one... On mine there were no probz at all.
However, i didn´t test it that crazy... No banding and no abnormal pixelation of the blacks atleast.
Atm it´s in for service... Had a complete crash... Maybe that will be the white version faults
^ What about the issue of faint horizontal and vertical lines especially on a white background at minimum / maximum brightness?
I have a white one as well. no problems at all
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Have a White G NOTE ... no problems with the display!
^What is the Month of Import?
the white ones suffer from the same problems as the "blue" ones! seen two of them, both had the "classic" faults: one had a very strong tint which got worser on the right side of the screen, the other one was considerably darker and had a yellowish tint over the whole screen! both had the black clipping issue and cut the gamma test at 4 (in standard mode)!
VERY IMPORTANT:
i had a LOT notes so far, all of the screens were faulty to some extent. only 2 out of 14 had a correct (or at least much better) gamma calibration/value, but both of them had other severe problems (one side tint, unevenness)!
also to notice the "blotch errors" you have to display a black picture, go into a complete dark room, let your eyes accommodate and see for yourself!
AS LONG AS YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO COMPARE YOU WONT BE ABLE TO TELL IF YOU HAVE COLOR TINT (only if its really dramatic), I THOUGHT A FEW TIMES MY SCREEN IS NOW REALLY GOOD IN TERMS OF COLORATION, BUT EACH TIME I WAS ABLE TO OUTPERFORM IT DRAMATICALLY WITH AN OTHER DEVICE!!
SO: IF YOU THINK YOUR SCREEN IS FINE: DO NOT COMPARE!!!
otherwise you WILL get worried!!!
just my 2c...
have a white note from movistar in Spain and has the display and camera problems.
+1 to what TML1504
@OP
I think you are looking for a more objective reply rather than a subjective one, I recommend you stop your search for now and probably wait a few batches later.. Maybe 4-5 months from now? If the S2 was a sign of things to improve it really did after 6 months.
I'd figure since new models are set to release, Samsung must have already addressed the problems in the newer Note sooner than it did for the S2.

I was able to check 3 brand new white colored galaxy note from 3 different local shops and they have the video issues the same as mine which the store rep confirmed after we sent the file over and had them test in their storage room, which is my primary concern.
With just a quick glance, I can easily tell those units still show lines, dirty grey renderings and yellowish/greenish bottoms on the screen, this is with an objective result, subjectively the lines are not visible when viewing pictures of anything other then grey or browsing websites with brightness not lower than 2 notches.
I dont think they can or will address this as fast as the common screen issue everyone has is very subjective to the user and only those that are noticeable get returned, some insist on using a higher brightness just to cover it up.
Boycott Samsung 'till Further Notice, LOL
Sad to say, even the latest S2 display is better than the Note. The latest S2 batch corrects a lot of the problems that existed in prior batches. I've seen it myself; thats to easy to appreciate. Too bad Samsung doesn't give a damn about their own flagship products.
EDIT: @EarlZ, not a personal question, question to Samsung, Why would I want to conceal the problems that exist by decreasing the lifespan of my product; raising the display brightness will in turn reduce the lifespan of the AMOLED Screen, lol.
Its been like 3 months or less since it came out from the market so its a given that it will take a while to improve.. give it another 2-3 months more.
EDIT:

On a subjective side, you dont need to do anything special just use the phone how you would normally do and if you dont see anything that bothers you or any image abnormality then simply the issue does not exist on the phone, If your a new buyer just perform the things that you normally do and might do and from there draw your own conclusion, Like others I do not know the exact ratio of good to bad screens/phones but subjectively a majority of the phones should not have any issues on the screen.
If you want to perform something more objective you need to be more open to the methods, there like 3 active threads about it you can easily read up there.
I have a white note for the last 3 days, and due to a few threads about display and other problems, I have been especially looking out for them. but so far I cannot find a single problem with the display or any of the other problems that people have been complaining about.
It was bought from Amazon Germany and shows:
Android 2.3.6
baseband n7000xxla4
kernel 2.6.35.7-n7000xxla4-cl886827 [email protected] #2
build gingerbread.xxla4
If that is of any help to anybody.
But I'm not looking at it with one eye on the screen and one on a spectrometer
just my ol eyes, which to those it looks and works fantastic.
and also my 25 year old son, his eyes should be better than mine also says it looks fantastic to him, and will be getting one soon
seeya

Should I get the Nexus 6 (Yes / No)?

As the topic title states - should I get a retail unit of the beastly N6?
I am currently a long-time Xperia user, and feels like I want to try something additional to play with - that also got a huge development support, specially on the kernel side (FLASH-O-HOLIC GUY HERE!!!). Great development rates in general for Xperia units varies a lot between the unit, as expected..
Guys, please. Point me in the proper and correct decision.
Any benefits from a Nexus unit? Huh?

What is the known issues with the Nexus 6? How high fail-rate does the device have in general?
Long time lurker, I just saw this thread and wanted to comment. After going through 2 of the nexus 6's, I would wait and see if Google announces anything at the end of may. There are many issues that can plague the phone:
1. horizontal or vertical banding
2. uneven "lighting" (one part of the screen appears darker than the rest
3. crackling in sound
4. battery back coming loose and popping off
5. un-even screen (the screen is not aligned properly)
On my 2 devices I had the battery back issue and the lighting issue where the top 1/3rd of my screen appeared reddish pink while the rest had a standard tint. The device is roughly 7 months old now so its almost towards the end of the life cycle. I'd hold off and see if anything else comes out that you may be interested in.

An Nexus6+ or Nexus 8?
I got a Nexus 6 last week, coming from Nexus 5. After the first 'wow this thing is like a tablet' the phone ist getting really fast comfortable. One hand usage is possible.
With the best community here you get tools like sweep2wake or doubletap to sleep. Its blazing fast, really nice screen (but only inside) and fells really light.
And playing games/watching movies is so nice :good:
If you're a flashaholic like you say it would be a yes.
Went from a note 3 to this device and I have no regrets. It's fast, smooth and the stereo speakers rock.
Yes sir.

What the hell are you talking about
Every device has its quirks but you make it sound like these are widespread issues because some users reported these defects. I have non of the above defects so for me the device is perfect. And a 7 months old device is not at the end of its lifecycle. We`ll still get 2 major updates at least, try that on a Sony, HTC or Samsung

Yes, you can buy a N6.
Since the beginning of this year a N6.
I've had only issues with Lollipop and Google apps.
The light material design and the kernel were causing battery drain. The text in the Gmail app is hard to read (grey text on white background; these colors can't be changed). After flashing Franco's kernel and a black Google Now Launcher and disabling not used apps and services the issue 'battery drain' was solved and that made the N6 great for daily use.
I changed the lcd-density to 384 and the font size to huge. That turns the N6 in tablet mode.
For a better grip I use a cheap ultra thin hard case from eBay. I carry the N6 in a vertical belt case.
(Still looking for a black alternative for Gmail)
I got this device and I really like it but I'm a little disappointed. i have had the nexus 5 and a note 4 also. i really like the nexus 6 for its big screen and speakers. but both of my previous devices were faster and smoother. i gave my dad the nexus 5 and my mom the note 4 and since i still use them occasionally I can fairly judge all of them. My dads nexus 5 is running cataclysm and it is a perfect experience with no bugs. the recents screen and all the animations are super smooth. My moms note 4 is running firekat and everything is smooth with no lag either. but i have the nexus 6 on chroma which is supposed to be the best rom and its not nearly as smooth. recents widows still lag and stutter and with every release there is something new wrong with it.

yeah i clean flashed and i have so many problems on it. expanded desktop doesn't work and the notification panel won't even pull down lol. the other problems i have i have had with every release of it. the recent windows just don't pull away smoothly they always stutter a little bit at the end. google play music will randomly stop working and i have to reboot the device to listen to music again. and for some reason chrome beta takes super long to open too. i tap on it and wait at least 5 seconds for it to open... oh and sometimes auto rotate messes up my wall paper too

Try to reproduce these issues and post a logcat in the Chroma thread or PM them to @zephiK so he can deal with it. Thats how issues are solved
I just got one to replace a Note 4. It reminds me a lot of the Moto X, but bigger and better. Which is a wonderful thing. The Note 4 will be why I'll never buy another Touchwiz device again though, so I feel like I've been let out of a crappy prison. I'm so sick of tech reviews that use a phone for 11 days and try to tell you what's worth owning. Never again.

I think for everyday users, the note 4 has a lot to offer.. Great caner a hardware and software for example. Also it has that great default notification tone.. It just never gets old...
But for modders, its a no go.

Within another 5 months the new line of nexus devices will be out. I am not saying the nexus 6 won't be updated, but it wont be "the" device anymore. After visiting about 12 verizon wireless stores and checking out their display model, I can say I found many of the same defects I listed on all 12 models. Including my 2 that makes a sample size of 14 devices that all have some form of defect.
I am not saying this phone is not great, as I really did like it. The question was should he wait or buy now and I simply suggested wait as the next best thing is almost here already (nexus line wise) and he has waited this long, whats the difference for another 4-5 months. Since he is also buying this retail (I assume full price), the money would be better well spent on a more refined piece of hardware. The nexus 6 was google's first try at a large phone, i'm sure the next google device that comes out will perfect this.

Hmmmmmm, I have had none of the described issues written here, maybe you got a Lemon? I was on the HTC phone for the past few years until they came out with the (IMHO) pathetic M9, after looking at that in one of the VZ stores, my attention drifted elsewhere. The VZ rep said sales of the M9 are real slow, at least here so it will be interesting to see what HTC does, or doesn't do.
If someone want to get ride of note 4 to get one nexus 6, I would trade for sure xD.....hate my nexus 6 lol

Really prone to burn in, pixel uniformity is all over the place. Aka the usual LG panel problems.

Well regarding burn in I can't disagree, I'm surprised very few people report this. I'm glad Huawei Customer service replaced it without arguing. I hope I won't need to do it again, and if that's the case, I'd test again their customer service.
Regarding pixel uniformity, I can't notice anything wrong with this 3 weeks old screen

It's looks good now. Nice vibrant color till it gets burn in. Learned the hard way on my last phones to stay away from oled. Speakers are a little better on the Pro. I do miss the front navigation button. All in all good phone for me. The K970 won't win in any drag race but it has been a solid performer for me. Was set till the M20s came out but a thief changed that plan. Oh well grandson will enjoy this one over the M9 I gave him last year. Come on November.

My Mate 10 Pro is 7-8 months old and no burn in! But i'm not starring at static wallpapers for 24 hours, so maybe that helps... or i'm just lucky! ?

Same here, I don't keep my phone running for hours with luminosity set to the max. As stated in my post, my device is a second hand. No idea what was previous owner habits, but being able to see his homescreen setup was a nightmare. I even had the impression I could see my own homescreen setup progressivel superimposed before contacting Huawei Customer service, but that could be a placebo effect Just too bad I did not took a picture of the result.
If issue was about Waze screen burning the display due to hours loooong rides, I could understand, but it wasn't the case. And even if it was, Huawei and other manufacturers should warn about it. And I suppose Huawei tries to minimize it with the auto-dimming enforced, but TBH I never heard people complaining about Samsung or Pixel devices.
In order to minimize the issue, I installed Gesture Control and even payed for Pro version, so I won't have navigation bar burning the display, and in addition I can enjoy fullscreen display all the time It could be an option for you as you miss fp reader/navigation button. There are few missed actions, I don't know if it's a matter of app sensivity setup, another parameter, or due to the app itself, but it's enough, and I'll progressively try to change the setup in order to reduce these misses.

All OLED screens suffer from this, some more, other less, but still an issue with oleds.
I'm glad mine doesn't have it, otherwise i would be annoyed too.
Usually static images cause this, but only if you keep your screen ON for hours on the same image.
OLED quality also matters, that's granted.

Panel is Samsung, not LG

Panel Lottery

As we all know the AMOLED lotto is real even if the display was given "the highest A+ from DisplayMate". Wanting to keep track to see if anyone is having any of the following issues: Screen uniformity, banding on gray, dark gray looking purple at lower brightness, blotches, black crush, black smear. If there is something I haven't listed feel free to post the issue. While I know some of these issues are inherent of the technology I would like to gather data and see other's experiences thus far.
On my my device my 128 GB white XL exhibits the "dark gray looking purple at lower brightness". I've also added poll options and I look forward to seeing everyone's responses and thank you for taking the time to read and respond!
While it's true any oled can get these problems, it does seem there's a fair amount of complaints about display issues already. I think that's because there LG panels, while we know have improved a lot since the 2 XL but they don't seem to be the same standard as samsung ones .
Something like the OnePlus 7 pro I didn't see any things on Reddit, xda about screen faults

Ifixit's tearodwn actually shows that Samsung actually manufactured the display. From what I know Samsung's own devices don't have 90hz panels yet. So this could be their first batch and the 4 is their guiena pig to iron out any production issues. But some other reports to report that it is LG. I'll poke around Reddit and see what the folks say down there as well. I could of just been the unlucky one and got shafted on the panel lottery. But everything else is working flawless (for now) and I don't really want to play the exchange lotto. Thanks for the response.
I guess I won the lottery. No issues at all. My P3XL had the purple shift at low brightness though.
What I would like to know is, the devices that are being affected, are they the XL or the standard version? The XL has all but been confirmed to be samsung, but we don't know about the regular version

Some are saying LG and the others are saying Samsung. I'm more inclined to believe it's Samsung since in the teardown it was confirmed. https://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Google+Pixel+4+XL+Teardown/127320 Unless they really went with LG and Samsung for both variants? Last year smaller gets the LG while the XL gets Samsung.
Maybe not?
https://www.notebookcheck.net/Who-m...Google-Pixel-4-XL-Samsung-or-LG.439878.0.html hopefully this posts right. Screenshot shows that it has the samsung driver. In the xl at least. Dunno about the standard
https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixe..._pixel_4_display_a_big_step_forward_in_black/ This thread here shows that several people have posted about purple and some even green. Whereas some are saying even at higher brightness levels some grays appear purple and then at other times it appears as normal.

It would be nice if we could get some confirmation on which device this was happening on. So we can at least eliminate one other variable. We still don't know if the panels are the same on both devices. I'm willing to bet that is happening on the smaller version, since no one I know that has received an XL has mentioned it
I guess I won the lottery. None of the above for me so far. I haven't had the phone for even a day though, so the bottom two are possible yet. I checked the others and it's good to go. Very glad to hear they're Sammy displays too. I had the 2xl, and those LG's sucked.

Ok, so there's another XL confirmed working fine. Starting to think there may be some credence to my earlier statement
Mine looks great. No complaints. This thing is a Beast!
Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk
And yet, another XL user. Makes me feel better, since that's what I ordered ?
My 4 XL screen is very nice too. No problems like above. I like it better than the Note 10 plus I just sent back.

If the XL panels are indeed all Sammy then I and probably a few others didn't win the lotto. I also notice some strange behaviors as well. Adaptive EQ off and ambient on and around 20-30% Discord looks fine, whereas the voice recording app still seems dark/purple until about 70%. Then there are times where I open that app and it seems fine. Another user in the reddit thread I linked is also reporting this behavior on various apps. Hopefully more cotinue to speak up if their screen is fine or not!

Well, f*ck. There went that Idea. So, just so we're on the same page, you do have an XL and you are experiencing the screen issue? So much for my theory. Was doing well for awhile

That is correct I have a 128 GB White 4 XL. I've been digging around Reddit and some others users also have the gray appearing purple and others have gray appearing as green at lower brightness on their XL's.

US Version only

There have been 2 pretty severe problems with the early European devices. Starting tomorrow the US version should hit the shelves and homes. If you can would you please address each of the 2 issues as you can.
1. Google Pay not working at the terminal (you can register the cards but they don't work in the stores)
2. The infamous gap of the body / screen (even gap, no gap, awful uneven gap)
I don't really like polls but if someone wanted to make a poll that would be fine as well. This US device is a different build due to the high speed 5G antenna so perhaps we will avoid these problems. Furthermore, if you have any other problems such as screen flickering, fingerprint sensor not working etc. post that here as well. Thanks and good luck to us. Mine (sage) comes on Friday.

People doing US reviews seem to suggest that even when they have the gap issue, it's fairly small and uniform, but lots of people say they don't notice a gap at all in their reviews. This doesn't mean there won't be an issue though..

I know. I really want to see some demo models but none of the stores here have it yet.
Best buy had every one on display. 4a 5g, 4a, and the 5 in black. Not a hint of a gap..I tried to take a picture but I suck at it and it came out like crap. When I get home I'll see if I can fix it up a little..btw damn this is a nice phone.
Here ya go. Best I could do..
I just finished setting up the Pixel 5 (received it today; sage color). There is no gap on the phone.
Google Pay had two separate “setups”: at the beginning after transferring the information from my old Pixel. Then a later one after all my apps were downloaded and I thought it was finished with “setting up” the phone: the drop down notification said “Finish setting up your Pixel”. During this time, it wanted the Google Pay information, again, but it looked different from the first GPay screen. I have to check if it works.
I called a friend to see how it sounded and I’m not crazy about how the under glass speaker sounded. It’s hard to explain, but it is slightly less clear compared to the 3 XL. It wasn’t awful. Maybe I would not have noticed if it wasn’t mentioned in some of the reviews. On the other hand, my friend reported that I sounded crystal clear. That’s all for my initial impressions.
Fingerprint Sensor
My fingerprint sensor did not work. Went ahead and returned it. Reset it 4 times.

You can't see the left corner haha. No worries though. My black one looks very similar. I went into a BestBuy today and looked at the 2 demos they had. I could see ever so slight differences in the space between the frame and screen. I think mine was about between these 2 units I saw. I really want to see a sage green one to compare to.
We are really talking about splitting hairs here too though
Fingers crossed the issue doesn't pop up in a few days/weeks.
Just received my Sage, pre-ordered from Fi, thus Google Store. No extras received. Charger, cord, USB C to A adaptor, SIM tool in the box. Color is cool. No gap whatsoever. Cleaned phone with microfiber and straight into a case, Spigen Ultra Hybrid clear, then onto the charger. Powered up fine and activated quickly. BUT Wi-Fi connection issue occurred. Tried two different connections, double checked passwords, and still a problem. Finally connected after about 10 min. Then, used my old Pixel 2 XL cord to copy data; cord is still useful for data - I'm impressed. Flawless Google properties setup, data copy (maybe 3.5-5GB) took about 6-8 minutes. Fingerprint setup had a couple of error messages - sensor dirty - but other than that it worked fine. I did have my case on during fingerprint setup. After that, "Getting your phone ready" took a bit: 112 apps to download and set up. Definitely need to review all those apps. Took FOREVER.
No screen gap on my sage. I'll test google pay tomorrow at the store. Loving this phone so far. Will say that photos do take an extra second to process.

It appears that Google is downloading a fresh copy of every Google/Pixel app. It's taking a looooooooong time. I'm not sure, but they don't appear to say "update" on the Play Store. Maybe it ships without the apps, or they could all need updating. It really seems like it is every Pixel/Google app. I remember reading an article saying something like this being the case for foreign phones b/c of some settlement. But on a US phone, it appears nothing Google is preinstalled. Maybe that was the same for my 2XL but I honestly don't remember. Made sure it was on 5GHz WiFi just now.

The same thing when I went from the 3 to the 3a and then to the 4. Once that starts I walk away for a half hour and when I come back it's almost done.
Got my Sage yesterday here in the US from Verizon. Zero gap on all four sides (tried the paper suggestion). You guys had me worried as hell the last couple of weeks. :victory:
I got it in the evening, so I haven't been able to test Google Pay.

I thought it was going a bit overboard, but there's been some folks that wanted to see if you could fit a sheet of paper in-between the aluminum and plastic border of the screen.

I see. Thanks for the quick response dude.
Update: No issues with google pay, no gap, no "brownish" screen. Device is awesome, exactly what I want in a phone.
No gap at all, I'll use it for GP tomorrow. Wow this thing is light.
Got my Black Pixel 5 yesterday - went thru setup flawlessly, fingerprint works fine - setup quickly. No gap. Have not tried using Google Pay but will sometime next week.
I am coming from the Samsung Note 20 Ultra (keeping that phone and will ultimately use both depending on my mood) what strikes me most is - I can't remember how long it has been since I have used a phone as small as the Pixel 5. Don't get me wrong, I don't mean it is tiny - just a whole lot smaller than my previous samsung devices (and the Samsung Note 20 Ultra) but honestly, it feels great. Much eaiser to use one handed, feels good in the hand, unlocking with the fingerprint scanner on the back is really a better experience than Samsungs Underscreen fingerprint scanner.
Pixel 5 is an awesome phone. Glad I got it! (I would not say it is better than my Samsung Note 20 Ultra - Different and good in different ways than the Samsung is - if that makes sense)

I can't agree more regarding the size. Coming from an S20 Ultra, I can't imagine going back to a bigger screened phone again. This size and weight of the P5 are perfect.
