Won't boot - Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo Q&A, Help & Troublesh

Went to recovery, tried wiping cache, after about an hour I thought it was just frozen and not doing anything, so I restarted the phone, then went back into recovery and factory reset. Now the M logo appears for a few seconds, then disappears, but the screen buttons are unresponsive. At this point, the only thing I can do is hold the power button and the M screen will come back up, OR I can get into fastboot and everything acts normal until I try rebooting. I've wiped cache and factory reset several more times and the same problem keeps persisting.
Any tips?
Thanx

It's entirely possible you are having some kind of hardware failure, but as we can't help you fix that let's focus on software for now.
Is your bootloader unlocked and do you have TWRP recovery? If you have TWRP, have you tried to restore any backups of your system?
Have you tried reflashing firmware, either lastest stock via ADB or custom ROM? (choice depending on whether your bootloader is unlocked or not)

bootloader is locked, everything is stock.

do you have TWRP installed? If so, do you have a backup you can restore?
If not, then reflash latest firmware (either via TWRP or via ADB).

TWRP is not installed. Is there a guide somewhere how to reflash? Everything I have found is for a normally working phone.

Edit 2: Didn't understand how to flash the one you linked, so I used the one supplied in the guide and flashed everything. Still getting the same issue though.

whoa, I somehow mis-read this. Your bootloader is locked? Do you want to unlock your bootloader? If so, if you do not have the latest firmware, then don't flash the latest firmware. Ignore my last post.
However, if you are already on the latest firmware, then you can't unlock your bootloader anyway, so you might as well re-flash that firmware to fix whatever is corrupted.

I read too fast also. I thought your bootloader was UNlocked and you were still stock.
What firmware were you on before you had this trouble?
If you were on the very latest already, then you can't flash that firmware in that thread -- because you can't downgrade with a locked bootloader. You can only flash same version or higher.

I assume I was on the latest, at least I know I didn't have any pending OTA's
Sorry for being a bit ignorant on this, I told myself with this one I was just going to leave everything alone and not unlock or do anything like I did on all my others.

OK, let's assume you were on the latest already.
With these instructions below, on step 4 instead of the link he provides you would use the link I provided (which is the very latest firmware). @TheSt33v's goal for this thread is to unlock the bootloader -- and these instructions were originally intended to get users with older firmware to upgrade and install the very last version firmware that could be unlocked with Sunshine. We are re-purposing the instructions to get you to re-flash the latest firmware on your phone, hoping that will fix any corruption issue.
TheSt33v said:
Section 0: Installing Firmware Version MCG24.251-5 (instead you would be installing Official Stock Firmware 6.0.1 MCG24.251-5-5. Note the extra "5" on the end. It's the very latest stock firmware, but cannot be unlocked as of this date by Sunshine.)
1. Go to Settings -> About phone -> Build number. If it says SU4TL-44, SU4TL-49 or MCG24.251-5, skip to section 1 of this guide. If it says MCG24.251-5-5, you are probably out of luck. This guide will not work for you. If it says anything else, continue reading.
Flashing MCG24.251-5 using this method will erase all of your data. Back up any important files/information before proceeding.
2. Download and install Minimal ADB and Fastboot from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790.
3. Download and install the Motorola Device Manager from here: https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/88481
4. Download the MCG24.251-5 firmware package from here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=889764386195901169
(instead download THIS VERSION: Official Stock Firmware 6.0.1 MCG24.251-5-5)
5. Extract the contents of the MCG24.251-5 firmware package to the installation directory of Minimal ADB and Fastboot (C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot on any 64-bit installation of Windows). (INSTEAD you would extract the firmware version I linked to.)
6. Power off your phone.
7. Hold down the volume down button and power on your phone. Release the volume down button when you see that the phone has booted into bootloader mode. You'll see a dead green android.
8. Plug the phone into your computer.
9. Open the Minimal ADB and Fastboot shortcut on your desktop. This will open a command prompt.
10. Type "fastboot devices" and press enter. If it displays your device's serial number, you're ready to go. If it displays nothing, your computer is not recognizing your device properly.
11. Navigate to the installation directory of Minimal ADB and Fastboot and double click on FlashAll.bat. This will flash MCG24.251-5 to your device and erase all of your data. (This will instead install MCG24.251-5-5 if you downloaded that version, but yes it will erase all your data.)
12. Use the power button to select Start in the bootloader menu to boot normally.
13. Set up your phone at least to the point where you can install apps if you want to.

The blue link you provided in that post doesn't work. Assuming it's the same that you provided a few posts earlier, there is no flashall.bat file.

I fixed the download link, so should work now.
As for the bat.file, I don't know.
I searched and found some more download versions, like this:
https://easy-firmware.com/index.php?a=browse&b=file-info&id=80611

Sweet Sassafrass, it works! I simply copied the .bat file from the -5 zip to the -5-5 (newest FW) took almost 5 minutes on the Droid splash screen, but it's alive. Thank you so much @ChazzMatt for all your help.

[SOLVED] Stuck in "warning bootloader unlocked" screen. Device won't turn OFF.

[SOLVED] Stuck in "warning bootloader unlocked" screen. Device won't turn OFF.
Hi all,
I have a Moto G 2014 (Titan, XT1068).
I am not new to custom ROM-ing and Android hacking, had all 4 of my personal Android phones unlocked and rooted just fine - I usually know what I'm doing.
This here is my mom's phone and it's the first Moto G 2014 I attempted to unlock & root so far. I know the basics, but this particular device gives me headache...
All actions were performed on 07. October 2016 after carefully researching the latest HOW-TOs for the Moto G 2014 on XDA and other websites:
- I unlocked the bootloader using the official process from Motorola to receive the "unique key".
- I installed twrp-3.0.2-3-titan.img recovery.
- I downloaded SR1-SuperSU-v2.78-SR1-20160915123031.zip and placed it on storage.
- I booted into TWRP recovery, installed SuperSU and Wiped Dalvik+Cache, then rebooted.
Since then, I am stuck in the "warning bootloader unlocked" (WBU) screen and the device won't turn off.
If I press the power button and hold it for a few seconds, normally it turned the device off, but now it just reboots into the WBU screen, looping forever.
- I can still enter my fastboot by holding VOL-down + Power, get a adb connection with my Android SDK + platform tools on my Windows and issue adb and fastboot commands normally.
- I can still enter the recovery and do stuff with it normally.
Since this incident, I have also tried a normal Wipe (whatever the default wipe settings are) in TWRP, no change / effect.
I have no clue what to do next, other than wait for the battery to go empty that is, since I can't even turn the device off.
Some methodologically sound advice would be highly appreciated at this point. :good:
Thank you in advance.
You just can't flash the supersu file in twrp before flashing the supersu you need to flash roo.M.br.zip file in fastboot mode then you can flash the SuperSU.
The file available at stock firmware section.
---------- Post added at 09:48 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:46 AM ----------
Flash the stock rom from fastboot mode then again root the device as i said it will solve the problem.

Is this roo.M.br.zip file included in the Stock Rom or is it the Stock Rom itself?
Or is there another general name for this roo.M.br.zip? Because I can't find it via the search function of the forum.
Anyhow ... in the meantime I will be downloading XT1068_TITAN_RETAILDSDS_5.0.2_LXB22.99-16.3_Easy_Installer.zip which is linked on the following thread:
- first URL for XT1068 labeled as "***NEW*** DOWNLOAD XT1068 5.0.2 LXB22.99-16.3 RETDSDS WITH STAGE FRIGHT FIX RETAIL DUAL SIM DUAL STANDBY (EU/INDIAN/GLOBAL) 26/08/2015 BUILD ***NEW***"
But I already had a look into the archive, nowhere to find a roo.M.br.zip is even similarly named file(s).
Could you be a little more specific or provide the correct XDA thread / link?
Also, the fact that "I can't just flash SU" it must be device specific, right?
Because on my other Android phones I just installed/flashed SU via recovery mod with no problems and that was it.
EDIT: also, according to this guide here, apparently you "can just install SU", if I understand correctly and it's more or less exactly how I proceeded (unless wiping cache/dalvik after flash was harmful):

Sorry for not understanding your answer at first.
Obviously you were refering to two different things in one post and I was a little confused.
- RESTORING THE STOCK-ROM BASED ON MARSHMALLOW / ANDROID 6.0 HAS BROKEN THE BOOTLOOP IN THE UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER WARNING.
The other issue was obviously that you catched what I wanted to do originally, which was to ROOT the device.
- DOWNLOADING AND FLASHING THIS "root-titan-M-BR.zip" IN THE THREAD YOU SPECIFIED ENABLED ME TO FLASH SUPERSU AFTERWARDS WITHOUT PROBLEMS.
Obviously I can now go on doing what I initially intended, which is installing CM13 on my mom's phone.
I almost thought I had bricked the phone for good.
Thank you for your support. :good:

PRA-LX1 I want to install stock firmware.

I want to flash my phone with stock firmware, but I cannot find it anywhere.
I am looking for PRA-LX1C738B123.
I own Huawei p8 lite 2017
I wiped my system because I wanted to install other rom, it didn't work so I want to go back to the original.
Unfortunately I wasn't smart enough to do a backup before so I am stuck atm. The bootloader is unlocked and flashing works, I can boot into huawei eRecovery and TWRP. (eRecovery gives the getting package info failed error) I have tried the dload method with other app files, it fails at 5% every time tho.
I tried using Huawei Update Extractor and Firmware Finder but I cannot find the exact firmware.
Could someone help me with installing my firmware? Oh and I am kinda new and it would be nice to get some guides,
Thanks.
I have the same problem but with a different firmware.. now only thing i can do is use dc-phoenix paid software (15$ for 72h of use). I will try that tomorrow as i also can't find exact same firmware it was on my phone.

Hello ! I think I could be of some help since I encountered the exact same problem !
edit: well I just realized I can't find your ROM with firmware finder either, sorry for the failed attempt
In your case I'd try with each firmware until one would work or a I tried them all.
You need some utilities first :
- Firmware Finder
https://forum.xda-developers.com/tools/general/huawei-firmware-finder-team-mt-t3469146
It will allow you to find the stock ROM that fits your model
-Huawei UPDATE extractor
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2433454
It will allow you to extract the .img files from the firmware previously downloaded.
-fastboot and adb
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790
The programs that will allow you to flash the .img files.
Now:
1. Find your ROM using firmware finder (the model is usually on the box you received the android in).
2.Extract the necessary .img files : system.img, boot.img, recovery.img.
3.Reboot into the bootloader, connect your device to your computer, open a cmd exe (powershell in my case) by holding shift+right click on the folder containing the .img files and flash each .img file, e.g. for the system file:
"fastboot flash system system.img"
4.then use "fastboot reboot" and after that shutdown your device
(in my case even after flashing the .img files I was greeted by a blank screen, so I shutdown my device holding the power button).
5. Boot into recovery holding vol up + power buttons (be sure to disconnect your device before shutting down and powering it up again) and choose factory reset.
It should then reboot into ROM installation procedure where you will have to follow the same steps as when you booted your device for the first time.
edit: formatting
Also, as far as my limited knowledge goes, there is no custom ROM officially supported for our dear device.

Yes I had the exact same problem, but once I did what I described, by rebooting into recovery (without twrp), I finally had the option to restore factory settings.
I believe the issue is in the fact you don't have access to the stock ROM for your model.

But keep updating in case someone more knowledgeable peeks in.

I did a wipe in TWRP, and ended with a black screen...
I can boot to eRecovery, but it fails.and also to TWRP.
when attached to PC it keeps being seen and unseen as if its stuck in a power on cycle

Where did you find the C432 firmware? I can't succees to find it
Flashing to a completely empty phone via DC phoenix or manual via fastboot still didnt got my device started. Sometimes I end up in the eRecovery and sometimes its just stuck at boot.
I tried different version from the hicloud but none so far did the trick. Maybe someone can point me into the right direction so i can finally rescue this phone?
EDIT:
PRA-LX1C432
Sorry cant link to these files since i don't got 10 posts. Maybe PM ?
Copied the Mega TWRP backup (B100) to SD card
Flashed TWRP via fastboot
Disconnected the USB cable
Boot into TWRP
Restored TWRP backup
Restarted phone into fastboot
OEM unlocked it
Got booted into TWRP since no stock recovery there
Booted into fastboot again
flashed stock recovery
Android started to work!
Tried to update to B164 and failed
Reboot
Now it offered B110 and I tried to update to B110. Success.

Flashed TWRP via fastboot
Disconnected the USB cable
Boot into TWRP
Restored TWRP backup
Restarted phone into fastboot
OEM unlocked it
Got booted into TWRP since no stock recovery there
Booted into fastboot again
flashed stock recovery
Android started to work!
Tried to update to B164 and failed
Reboot
Now it offered B110 and I tried to update to B110. Success.

Also i noticed everytime a OTA fails you get the full version offered on next boot. So you should get a full B164 aswell after it failed
JStrel said:
Yes I had the exact same problem, but once I did what I described, by rebooting into recovery (without twrp), I finally had the option to restore factory settings.
I believe the issue is in the fact you don't have access to the stock ROM for your model.

TWRP not working: D405

Dear all,
got a LG D405 with Android 5.0.2 and Version V20b here. Wanted to install LineageOS. First I enabled USB Debugging and rooted the device. Then I used ADB to flash the newest Version of TWRP (twrp-3.1.1-0-w7.img). I typed:
adb push twrp-3.1.1-0-w7.img /sdcard/twrp-w7.img
*then*
su (+granting rights on the phone)
dd if=/sdcard/twrp-w7.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery
Then I shut down the phone and reboot using the key combinations (vol down + power).
After rebooting into recovery mode, nothing happens. I see a blue screen for a fraction of a second, then it goes black and off. Then I can restart the phone normally. How can I get a working TWRP? Thanks for any help!!!

No. Basically I follow this guide here:
lineageos.org/devices/w7/install
Now I read a lot here in the forum and think the guide there is very misleading and forgetting a lot of steps. I am very confused because the issue seems to be very complicated and there are so many different versions and solutions. Can someone please tell me which is *the* guide to follow for my phone (LG D405 with Android 5.0.2 and Version V20b)?

So there is no guide for this and the lineageos one is terrible. So what you have to do basically is get root. Unlock bootloader look around on xda and you have to get patched aboot for your device and stock rom version and flash it. Then flash twrp. With twrp wipe system cache and data partitions. Then flash lineageos and if you want root flash root zip. And if you want gapps flash that too then reboot and setup lineageos.
So, since my device is already rooted... Can I now just flash with a new aboot or do I have to install another stock? As my Version is V20b, this post here says I just can use V20a.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-l90/help/aboot-zip-lg-d405-v20b-t3533401
Is this correct? Or do I have to get a totally different version first? If so, which one? My IMEI tells me this:
Model:LGD405
Suffix:ADEUOP
Latest Firmware40520B_00
I really appreciate any hints. Thank you.
EDIT:
Now I used this file here (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54358527&postcount=2), Version 405_v20a with my v20b and it worked perfectly. After I followed this guide here (https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-l90/general/guide-guide-to-unlocking-bootloader-l90-t2852917) and could install LineageOS 14! Works!!!

[ROM] TMO Z2 Force 27.1.3 FlashAll (October 2018 Version)

UPDATE 11-9-18: I have updated the FlashAll with the October edition of version 27.1.3. Yes, they updated the ROM but kept the same version number lol.
This is a TMO Z2 Force 27.1.3 FlashAll. It does not wipe user data. I created it because the OTA update wouldn't complete, I think because I am rooted. Anyway I took the OTA from https://mirrors.lolinet.com (thank you!), unzipped it, used root junky's script to convert it (thank you!) and made a batch file to flash the partitions. The flashall includes ADB and Fastboot also. The Flashall is for windows. Your bootloader needs to be unlocked. You need to be on an OREO rom already.
Disclaimer: Flash at your own risk. Not responsible for damages if this stuff goes south. If you don't know what a flashall is, or twrp, or fastboot, you may not be ready for this.
Downloads
1. Updated October Flashall https://drive.google.com/open?id=1PczvmaVv19c91iOGhpNmhmfKyvDkz-ob (download to your computer)
2. TWRP Installer (if you are rooted, download this to your phone) https://dl.twrp.me/nash/
3. Magisk (if you are rooted, download this to your phone) https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk
How To:
Unzip the Flashall into a folder called "TMO Moto z2 force 27.1.3 flashall" Open a command prompt in the folder it created. Connect your phone to your computer via ADB.
Not Rooted?
If you are NOT rooted, just run flashall.bat. It will automatically boot into fastboot mode, update the partitions, reboot, and profit. This does not wipe user data.
Rooted
If you are rooted:
1) run flashall_then_recovery.bat. It will automatically boot into fastboot mode, update the partitions, then automatically reboot into a temp twrp recovery.
2) In TWRP install the twrp installer you downloaded above (if you use recovery).
3) Reboot recovery
4) Install magisk that you downloaded above.
5) Reboot
Not Rooted and want to wipe everything?
Run flashall_erase.bat. It will boot into fastboot mode, update the partitions, and wipe everything.

I downloaded and unzipped the new NASH_TMO_27.1..3. I added the AdbWinApi.dll and AdbWinUsbApi.dll and got the flashall_then_recovery.bat to run. So try it again but this time just do the regular flashall.bat. it should work this time.
It sounds like you are installing this to slot a but your phone is running in slot b. If doing it this way doesn't fix it just look on here for the command to switch your phone from one slot to another.
success. I tried the flashall.bat and got the system updated to 27.1.3. I noticed that when I fastboot --set-active=_a, I had 27.1.2 and with --set-active=_b, I had to restart the phone because it was stuck at the unlocked bootloader warning. thanks.

My Fellow Texan.....
THANK YOU.
My phone has been in a weird limbo for months. I was on AOSIP ROM but it wasn't rooted, I couldn't use any moto mods and I couldn't install anything because TWRP wasn't installed and it wouldn't let me install it, either. I now have TWRP, but it's showing no baseband. So I'm gonna attempt to fix that but I'm already in a better place than I was. Thanks again, brother.
if you need baseband its easy to fix i had the same issues i was testing kernel its eas fix if you need i can help fix ive bricked and tried everything works easy check last post put on this https://forum.xda-developers.com/z2-force/development/pantheon-kernel-alpha-t3805977
My Tmo box is rooted, presently running the original 27.1 release.. I've been getting the OTA update notifications for 27.1.2.
Do we know if I can skip 27.1.2 and jump straight to the 27.1.3 release? I'd love to be able to do this flash-all and put the update notifications to bed for a while.

If that doesn't work let me know. It should though. You may have to re-root after his suggestion
I'd been avoiding updates because I just didn't want to deal with rooting again and restoring data, etc. This was great!
(bootloader) slot: not found this is what I get with every fastboot command.
I was having the same issue... I was on 27.1.2 and kept getting notified to update, but it kept failing. I'm rooting with Magisk (16.0 initially but then up to 17.1) and it wouldn't update. Thanks to this thread, I ran the flashall_then_recovery.bat and it worked a treat!!! Thank you TexasAggie!
TWRP Installer link is down
The link to the TWRP installer is timing out when loading and comes up with an error message. Is it possible to install the 27.3 update using adb and then flash magisk in the temp twrp? Thanks for your work bro!
UPDATE:
I tried and now I'm stuck in bootloop. I can still get to twrp using adb and did a wipe but it's still stuck in loop land. Do I need to be rebooting in TWRP from slot A or B? This is my first phone that has dual partitions and I am a bit confused by it. Any suggestions? THANK YOU!!
UPDATE:
Tried your flashall update a second time and it worked with no bootloop issue, was able to flash magisk and obtain root again too.

Question Stuck in a boot loop, can't load recovery

Picked one of these up on the weekend and was looking at going to linageos.
patched upto latest, and went through the linage install steps but missed the step on after installing the bootloader unlock software going into options and unlocking.
Went ahead and installed the linage recovery but now just get a basic screen with options of
START
RESTART BOOTLOADER
RECOVERY MODE
POWER OFF
All options loop me around back to the same place.
trying to start, ends me up with a your device is corrupt message.
I've been trying to get it back to factory.
QPST and QFIL can't see the device.
i can see the device in fastboot.
have downloaded latest firmware.
extracted using payload_dumper
no recovery.img on there.
updated the boot.img, vendor_boot.img dtbo.img from Question - My Asus Zenfone 8 flip is STUCK in CSC FASTBOOT MODE PLZ HELP!, RAW FIRMWARE ANYONE??? | XDA Forums
but no luck as there is no recovery.img in the firmware package.
Any ideas?
Somewhere there was FW update (at least I remember .115) to downgrade from beta A12 to .115FW (android 11). And it could help you I hope. At least you can try.
Yeah all is not lost. Etract and run this to get you back to factory stock. If you can't connect with fastboot, it's a driver issue and you'll just have Google it and pay around until you get the driver right.
Firmware I'm on would be WW-30.12.112.62 i think
is that android 11?

fastboot flash vendor_boot D:\asus\payload_dumper-master\output\vendor_boot.img
is there more img's i'm meant to be flashing?

I was once stuck in a bootloop after flashing a custom rom and did a fresh install of official firmware.
Go to this website https://www.asus.com/Content/Android-12-Beta/ and scroll down to "How to opt-out and revert back to Android 11" section. There you can download the firmware file and a 3 step instruction.
By doing so I was able to bring back my phone.
The version of the firmware is from 2021/09/03 (WW-30.11.51.115) so you just need to update to newest release and everything should be fine.
