Xiaomi Mi Mix Pro for $520? Is It a Good Deal? - Xiaomi Mi MIX Questions & Answers

Hi Mi users. I'm thinking about buying a Mi Mix Pro as a side phone, but I'm not sure about the deal.
I found a new Mi Mix Pro in Ali Express for $520 unlocked, either Chinese version, or the seller can flash a global Rom on it. It is free shipping to the U.S. It comes with the standard packaging.
So the question here is, is it a good deal? if no, what is the good deal price?

This is the AD.

Yes for the 6gb/256gb good price

Great deal...

I paid $500 for a used 4gb Mix in the US. $520 for a new 6gb is CHEAP.

Hi I've read a lot of reviews from people ordering it from Chinese based sites such as gearbeast that remove the accessories and sell them separately. I ordered mine new from eBay.

I bought a 6GB/256gb second-hand Xiaomi Mi MIX spent 2600RMB,only used for half a year, the warranty has six months left, the appearance of the Xiaomi Mi MIX perfect,I'm from China.
My English is very poor●▽●

I can't tag your id, my Chinese is very poor eh. When you buy a second hand mix; It's better to see with close look on your hands. Since it's screen gets some tiny hairline scratches easily. Anyway, hopefully worth 2600RMB(My knowledge of Chinese currency is very poor too). ♡(∩o∩)♡

The best phone system in China is MIUI.What is the reason for the unpopularity of MIUI in the US?Because it's not neat enough?

Well princess; first of all, the id stuff was a joke, anyway. Glad you've got it with protector on, I guess American fellas would have what they want from ebay, Aliexpress or any site as others. $383 is very good price if your device is clean as you said. Congratulations.

Why don't you stick to mobile phone screen protective film to protect your mobile phone? In my eyes is difficult to understand these things.

Because there is no a good screen protector for this device which completely covers the whole screen in my area. I bought(online) 3 different protectors, one looks awkward, oily look on the middle of screen, one looks mirror-ish and i cant see the screen under the sunlight, one was piece of sh1t. That's why i used(tried so) for one week and got scratches in my jacket's pocket without another stuff inside my pocket. I used my s6e+ 1.5 years without protector; there wasnt a scratch like mix got in a week. Using an awkward one now again though.

Most phones sold in America are bought directly from carriers and Xiaomi isn't a brand marketed here which is why most people here don't know about Xiaomi and MIUI.
The Mi Mix is my first Xiaomi phone and this is the first time I've seen MIUI. I really like MIUI so far and I love the Mi Mix! Also, congratulations on the great deal on your Mi Mix!

Different marketing strategies - forcing buyers to "snap up" new models works in India or China, would probably not work so well in the US or other "western" countries.
Mi 6 can be bought at leasure on Aliexpress, no need to "snap up".

Nexus 4 Belgium thread

For the Belgian Google (LG) Nexus 4 lovers, welcome to the Belgian Discussion Thread for Nexus 4 (I didn't find an existing one, let me know if there is one).
Chances are few that it will be released in Belgium in the (near) future. But that doesn't mean Belgians won't be able to enjoy this great 'phone'.
So, I have ordered mine from Amazon, sent it to a friend who lives in the US and another friend brought my baby home I paid EUR 450.I also ordered 1 back cover (Cruzerlite White Androidified Clone Army) and 1 Nillkin leather flip cover (the yellow one, of course).
With this thread we can share our experience between other Belgian owners, if they also visit XDA that is
For the technical specs of this great phone, click here.
Pricing & Purchase: In Belgium ... none for now.
Alternatives
Order it in Mediamarkt in Germany. They can send it to you (EUR 395 w/o shipping costs).
Order it in the Netherlands, at a much higher price (currently around EUR 540): see Tweakers.net
Import Options
How to Import => Credits go to the Indian thread!
1) Register on any of the sites like Hopshopgo / comgateway / PPOBOX / borderlinx etc. that provide reliable shipping services.
(Some sites may have some registration fee, some may not.)
2) Note down your U.S address which they provide.
Example :
Quote:
Your Name
17146 NE Sandy Blvd
c/o INX-XXX
Portland, OREGON 97230
Tel: 503-914-6317
3) Go to the Google Play Store via your VPN and get your phone shipped to your U.S Address.
Quote: for this, Please use VPN services like us.newfreevpn.com or justfreevpn or any free and reliable free VPN sites.
Add your Belgian credit card with the same U.S address you received. Both the shipping and billing address must be the same.
4) Once the shipment is received on the U.S address, the company will usually notify you within 1-2 days along with the estimated cost for shipping to Belgium based on the type of shipping you want.(standard or expedited). (This can be without duty for some sites)
5) You pay the amount to the company online.
6) They will usually provide an airway bill/tracking number.
7) Wait for your Nexus 4.
8) Pay any customs in cash if not paid before to the delivery boy.
9) Enjoy your Nexus 4.
If you are interested to go a step (a big step) further and want to get root access to your Nexus 4 + install custom Recovery + ROM, this is where to start:
Nexus 4 Toolkit by Mark Skippen. I advise you to donate (GBP 3 minimum) and update to the latest version.
I had one big issue with the option "1-Click For All to Unlock, Root, Rename the Restore File". After unlocking the bootloader, your phone reboots and you enter the setup screen. As I entered my Google address, it automatically started restoring my apps. In the meantime the toolkit was expecting the usb debugging mode to be activated. While restoring all the apps I did that but not fast enough I believe. Then the rest of the 1-click for all was messed up, resulting in several error messages in the toolkit. I was scared to hell that I had already messed up my phone. After some trial and error, everything seems fine now: my phone is rooted.
I'm not going to install a custom ROM on it yet, as there is still the soft reboot issue. This should be fixed now with the latest CM nightly. However, not all ROMs have this fix incorporated it seems. Until that is done, I leave my Nexus to be 'stock'.
My Nexus has arrived! Pics after work. I was a bit afraid of the size and design but boy, it looks slick! Thinner than expected and I like the design a lot, fits nice in the hand.
Can't wait to really test it, first need to amend sim card.
EDIT: next to the new Nexus 4, my HTC Desire looks plain ugly
I kindly remind you to post in English.
My aunt is coming to Belgium tomorrow with the Nexus I ordered on the 4th of December(!). Took them 8 weeks to ship and had to wait a weeks for my aunt to visit me. Waited 3 months, and let's just hope it wont disappoint.
How does the Androidified case fit? I'm thinking of buying one. Minding taking some pictures of it? Alstublieft, merci! :good:
Nice cool thread.. I went to Mediamarkt Aachen thuis week. Just grabbed one of the 30 they still had in stock.
Quite the drive but the phone definatly worth it! I'm coming from Galaxy Nexus and the speed of this phone is outstanding compared to it's predecessor!
Really happy and an exclusive phone here in Belgium!

Pics (poor quality)
Now that I'm back from work (and could finally set up the phone!) I took some pics. As they were taken inside with bad lighting, the quality is disappointing. I will try to make better pictures tomorrow during the day. Rest assured, in reality the phone looks much better than on pics (even the promo pics).
But boy oh boy, I'm verry happy with my decision. I can't imagine somebody would be disappointed with this purchase. Of course there are some downsides but that's the case for every phone. Price/quality, it's unbeatable for the moment I believe.
I left on the plastic covers on front (+/- sign and power indication) and back. But when you start using protection, soon you see air under the plastic.
On the pics you see the Cruzerlite Androidified Clone Army (white). It fits very well, is light, doesn't add too much bulk, adds some grip, and gives a basic protection.

Comparison HTC Desire - iPhone 4 - Google Nexus 4 (with air bubbles under plastic cover)
Ordered mine on german play store, got it delivered to a German address box (mailboxde.com)
Ordered on 15/12 got it on 21/1 in mailboxde.com and got it delivered in Belgium on 27/1
Total costs: €376

Bought mine on eBay (from Germany), €425 plus shipping.
A bit more expensive but got it within a week.
Ordered a bumper in the US (expensive, grrr) and Martin Fields covers (front and back) in the UK (both in transit...) It's such a shame (scandalous really) that Google isn't offering the Nexus line-up or extended Google Play functionality in Belgium having Brussels as the Capital of Europe… @Google, #notdone!
Oh and yes, I'm happy to have it but I'm looking for another kernel to tweak and unlock the true potential of the screen. For the rest, it's perfect!

Just an update on my CruzerLite case (white): after using it for 1 week now, it got a blue shine, from my jeans
A bit disappointing as it doesn't look very neat and clean. I'm expecting my Nillkin leather case by the end of next week (shipped on Feb 4).
2 new phones are arriving today. If you're interested, PM me.

I picked up my nexus 4 from MediaMarkt Aachen last week and must say I'm very pleased with it. Coming from a Galaxy SII with CM9 it's a nice step forward. I love the fast updates and I'm never going to switch to a non-nexus device anymore.

Ordered mine Monday 11th february with the help of French friend (359€ wtih shipping fees). Can't stand waiting :crying:
I'm totally new in the Android world. I come from a HTC Diamond wtih a custom Windows Mobile 6.1 => So pretty much a mountain of stuff to learn :cyclops:
You'll enjoy it a lot Tortel! The last Android versions are very good. And custom ROMs make it even beter.
@kinglargo: gonna try Franco's kernel or Trinity.
Greetings!
I finally made the move from my good ol' Nexus S to the Nexus 4. Mine comes from Mediamarkt in Germany. I ordered a diztronic case which has shipped. In the meantime, it's protected by some sort of neoprene soft shell.
It's definitely (and obviously) a big jump in performance compared to my previous phone. I love it! And I can finally ditch my tablet to play Ingress (because it doesn't run well at all on the Nexus S)
I'm using Paranoid Android since 2 weeks, I love it
PS: Hi, fellow friends !
My girlfriend bought one too in a Mediamarkt in Germany. But lately she has some cell connection problems.
Anyone else experiencing this?
She’s losing cell phone connection regularly (very annoying when calling).
Sometimes incoming text messages aren’t received until reboot.
The ROM used is stock 4.2.2.
Thanks in advance.

Mi Mix 2? from gearbest.com

i found this browsing http://www.gearbest.com/cell-phones/pp_624119.html if real which is questionable because of all rumors about it, but if, I hope the rear camera slides up to reveal the front facing camera, I hope
back design is horrible... but why gearbest start a new notice campain about an unrelased phone ? Xiaomi doesn"t talk about it...
I like how it looks, but it goes with without saying.
I'm guessing the picture is just a placeholder since that's been around for almost as long as th Mix. Also, the rumored display ratio is 93% that thing looks more like 99. A phone without front facing camera in this day and age would be an extremely tough sell obviously.
If it has North American band support for T-Mobile and a decent dual camera setup, I will preorder it. The original Mi MIX got a lot right, at least in my opinion.

Customs fees vary a lot thanks to variables. If it comes through DHL Express, expect to pay $25 on top of whatever the Customs and Brokerage are. Sometimes things do come through without any major fees but that seems to be getting more rare with every passing year. Although I can't say for sure based on variables like couriers. I'd say, on average, expect about $40 to $50, if you get charged, and that is before any of the courier fees are slapped on top of that.

Ive bought from Gearbest and banggood.. Neither site have I had to pay custom fees. They usually mark the value of the package as $20 or something and say its an MP3 player or camera..
Just pay for the shipping insurance or shipping with tracking. Itll cover you even if it costs a bit extra

I have bought from there before, if the price is good enough id do it....
If it's a model that's been out for awhile be careful, they sell return's and refurbs as new sometimes
Wouldn't worry about that on a device this new yet

There is no global version available at alibaba.
Even the offers with "global" in the name are the china version OR the china version flashed with the global ROM.
I wrote with all the sellers there and asked for it.
At the moment only the CN version is available or the CN version flashed with Global ROM.
Edit: The displayed price is usually not nearly the price that is ultimately charged. At alibaba you usually have to send a request to the seller first and then you get the exact price.

Mi 11 Ultra12GB+256GBBlack,White=$1000

Ultimately its about $150 less then giztop but not sure about duty taxes and any extra fees when done to US, that's why I'm kind of nervous about ordering from Alibaba for first time. I have ordered from aliexpress numerous times with no issues.

Yeah, I searched all over Alibaba for a global version with no success. Even the ones that mention "Global Version" were Chinese variants. Too risky ordering one. I even noticed some postings even mentioned the manufacturer was Huawei instead of Xiaomi haha. That is when I gave up searching on Alibaba.

Hello everyone And what's wrong with the Chinese version with global firmware?
Somehow funny that he writes that the device is original sealed. How was the global ROM flashed then?
The disadvantage is that it is still the CN device and the bootloader is open and must remain open.
So the only advantage is that you don't have to flash the global ROM yourself.
The disadvantage, on the other hand, is that you do not know whether the trader is serious and what you actually get.

I noticed that, too. And in another message, he writes that - on the screen))
Yes, the seller is only good at checking on Alibaba, which is actually not clear at all

Question Those who bought from Giztop

How long did it take for your order to process and ship and deliver to you? I ordered my 11 Ultra Global about 3 days ago (Thursday)
Haven’t received an order confirmation email yet but I’m not sure how this whole thing goes since I haven’t used it before until now.

I ordered mine 3 weeks ago, came in 10 days to the uk, no customs.
I ordered from Giztop and it took 7 days with express shipping (I had a coupon which covered express shipping charges) to US
11 day to upstate NY, originally said 2 weeks.

Is it working good in the US?
i had a huawei mate 20 pro 8/256 that completely failed network when i switched from at&t to t-mobile
LUCKILY i have had zero issues on t-mobile so far.
the only issue i can recall getting annoyed with is the GPS just saying "waiting for signal" on google maps. i missed my exit and my wife was pissy about my "high priced no-name phone" lol
pretty sure that was more of a glonass issue than a t-mo network problem, and i only saw it once...but it did last about 5 mins or so

This is my review I left for them on TrustPilot..
For The Customers and Giztop
This review reflects my thoughts and experience with GizTop and some key areas I'm hoping GizTop reads to enhance customer service and sales experience.
Please note, your experience might be subjective to demograph and ease of logistics.
This website was brought to my attention via Google and been highly praised by YouTuber FlossyCarter. I was desperate for the new Mi 11 Ultra and I genuinely gave up waiting on my country's Amazon, that are yet to launch the phone till this date soo I bit the bullet and purchased from GizTop.
In all honesty, GizTop wasn't my first choice to buy this phone, and I'm not here to highlight competitors but GizTop was the only website that had the phone along with accessories I needed as well, I ended up picking the 80W wireless charger with some cases and glass screen protector.
Let's start with Logistics, quite frankly the only thing stopping me from giving 5 Stars is the logistics.
I mean, yes, GizTop ships globally with some exceptions. The company ships the phone from Shenzhen China to Hong Kong being their gateway internationally. But this costs a lot of time to deliver.
I made my purchase on the 7th of May 2021, and received my phone on the 31st of May 2021 via Aramex to Qatar.
Your products do avoid customs, which I won't discuss in detail how. I did encounter a customs charge but the value was insignificant soo I didn't find it worthy to argue with the company for, soo kudos to them for making that possible for me.
I found it cute that inside my phone box they left me a little note saying that one of my case is still on the way. I appreciate the small details and communication.
Packaging was flawless, everything was well cushioned are perfectly suitable for transit. My Phone box was opened but I was well aware, it was done to install Google Services, however I'd genuinely be happy if it wasn't done because I am capable of doing that myself. But nonetheless, it didn't bother me as much because I fully intend on unlocking bootloader and installing a custom ROM on it.
On purchased of the Mi 11 Ultra (Chinese Variant), GizTop includes a free 67W power brick as a gift, and I genuinely appreciate that.
Customer service was fantastic for the most, and the support team email and live chat responsed to all my questions and inquiries about my order (all except one relating to my concerns about my tracking status not changed).
Honestly I think the customer service team adopts Western names when chatting with customers. I could be wrong, I'm not assuming, but I've read plenty of reviews as well, with Jessica being the most popular. Fun fact, "Jessica GizTop" was a top search and Google didn't fail to predict when I typed that , because I've seen lots of mixed reviews about Jessica from GizTop. She personally dealt with my order; and on live chat I requested for her specifically because she was responsible for my order. But she did a great job responding all my queries and doubts soo thank you Jessica for doing a great job.
All in all, I'm very satisfied with my products EXCEPT for one, my Nilikin Glass protector for the Mi 11 Ultra drastically reduces the touches registered. As easy as installation looked, I still have corners with air bubbles making their way in. Honestly GizTop, come on now! You guys sell one the most powerful phones money can buy, and accessories do significantly impact the phones experience. Im not sure if my glass protector unit was faulty, but I've seen reviews of people advising to stay away from the protector Ive selected. GizTop if you could do something about it, I'd genuinely appreciate it, because right now I'm in the market for another glass protector that is sustainable for this new phone of mine, if you could sort me out, I'll be more than happy to pick up another good screen protector brand from you guys, or I guess I'll just have to search elsewhere because I want the best for my phone. And I'm sure all potential customers reading this would like that too.
Aside from that, I will go in depth with my other accessories on other forums like XDA very soon, but wrapping this up
If you're desperate for a phone from GizTop;
1. Yes they are a legit company that are China based.
2. Your package delivery time may vary, but don't expect it to be insanely fast. But yes they do deliver on what was promised and well!
3. They're customer service will be happy to help you out.
4. No, just because you're importing this phone from China, doesn't mean you are going to be scammed.
4.1 Their devices are authentic and verified and I vouch for that.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, please thumbs up to help other customers make an educated decision on their investment.
And GizTop, thank you for delivering on my dream phone and making this delivery possible.

oh man this had me Laughing . My wife also said the same thing when i was having connetion issues with tmobile right when i got it. "high priced no-name". But for a while now, I have been getting great connetion and i absolutely Love my mi 11 ultra. I'm also coming from the huawei mate 20 (but in X version). I still use my mate 20 X for work and leave the pretty phone at home
As for Giztop, it took them about 2-3 week to reach me near chicago IL. I was able to hold off on buying the one i really wanted. The marble white version with 16gb/516gb. Giztop was great about sending me notifications and the packaging was done very well. no damage to the original box itself and the phone came pre loaded with google services.
I have had horrible experience. I ordered and paid on may 12 for 7 day delivery. I still don't have the phone
My experience with Giz top has always been great. There is usually a 24 hour turnaround for questions emailed to them. That is merely because of the time difference between Southern California and China. I have ordered approximately five phones from them over the years and I usually have said device in 10 days.
Packaging and service has always been top notch and I highly recommend them. There is a language barrier that can lead to misunerstandings, but if you have done your homework on your device and don't need to ask a lot of questions, like "which bands does it work with in the US" or something like that, you won't have any issue.
Ummmm. Different people different experience. Mine has been horrible

Is the shipping time the issue? Regular free shipping travels via much slower domestic services that also take longer to pass through customs. They also provide the option for DHL services. Packages shipped with DHL usually arrive in 7-10 days. Since I live in San Diego and the package will arrive in LA, I will get it fairly quickly after it clears customs.
On my purchase of my Mi 11 Ultra, I ordered the 8GB ram model, but since it had not been released yet to them, they gave me the 12GB version for the same price, as well as, free shipping with DHL Express shipping.
I also made a huge mistake on my last order. I accidentally ordered two devices and didn't notice my mistake until I had submitted my order. I wrote to them explaining my error and they refunded my money for the second phone via PayPal, no questions asked.

I paid DHL Express shipping. Look at one of their stupid answers highlighted in yellow.
By the way. NO phone yet!

I am not sure how long it had been for you already, but via USPS just means it will take longer. I ordered the CN version, paid $1049 for 12/256 and another $27 for the 67w charger. I unlock the bootloader and flash the Xiaomi.eu rom. Perhaps because I buy the CN version, I never have problems, but you have to remember that most of the supply lines are messed up now and sometimes it takes longer. Just remind them of the discount when your device arrives and they will refund your (PayPal?) account.

I bought the phone and payed for it on May 12th. If they assembly lines are messed up that's not a customer tissue and they should return the money or let them know.
They offer to return $20 out of 29 I pay which is an insult given this is their fault.
Today, on June 8, I'm still trying to figure it out if they did ship or just gave me a number.
I am exhausted of arguing with them even when I told him to return my money they said that it would take up to 10 days

Did you pay via PayPal? Then contact them regarding non delivery of product. If you have recieved a shipping notification that means it's on its way. Due to Covid and other things, like the Trump ban. Things can get hung up in customs and take longer sometimes and while that is not your fault, it isn't really there's either. However, I make all credit card transactions through PayPal, which has it's own convoluted ways that aren't always user friendly, but you will get your money back. BTW, they don't assemble anything. They are but a third party retailer. Xiaomi does the actual assembly and then ships the product to them and Giztop then in turn, sells it to you. That means the phone has to come from mainland China to Honk Kong, then re-shipped to the US. That's two layers of customs that it needs to go through. That aspect can slow things down tremendously.
