P8 Lite 2017 Unlock Dual SIM (PRA-LX1C33B120) - P8 Lite (2017) Discussion

Hi Guys,
I have P8 Lite 2017 (PRA-LX1C33B120) and I want to unlock the second SIM slot.
How can I do it?
I already have the phone rooted, unlocked and with TWRP flashed.
I just don't know what is the right firmware to flash.
I've tried some through DLOAD but it just doesn't work.
Can you please help?
Thx

Be very careful with flashing firmwares, a lot of people bricked phones and this one is complicated to restore.

I know... I was reading the other threads. That's why I'm asking help for the build I have.
It seems too complicated, but I really need the second SIM slot.

Have you pursued the device already with two sim?
Maybe you have the Single Sim version.

I do have the single SIM version, but it's possible to activate the second slot by changing the firmware.
The question is, I don't know what firmware to use.

I can tell you that PRA-LX1C432B110 is dual sim firmware, for unlocked EU PRA-LX1. But i don't know if you can just flash it or what are the steps to activate dual sim.

Yeah. That's it.
But I'm afraid to brick the phone.
I only have this one .

Your Phone has an IMEI. For Dualsim you need two. This cannot function. Wait for the next OTA update. If then afterwards only one Sim is active, your device is also laid out technically only for Sim.

Still can operate with one IMEI, did the same with Mate 9 single to dual, both sims working superb.

Huawei P8 lite 2017 PRA-LX1 Dual or single SIM ?

Hello, I have a Huawei P8 lite 2017 PRA-LX1 phone bought 3 months ago. Originally it had a PRA-LX1C02B158 Vodafone firmware (Nougat) single SIM, but after rooting, unlock bootloader and FRP and finally after many and many tries ( I can not remember all of them ) I followed Almironi procedure (https://forum.xda-developers.com/p8lite/p8-lite-2017-discussion/trying-to-update-to-oreo-t3814332) and the phone booted again apparently without any Vodafone files (even initial logo disappeared) and with Oreo version. The problem was that I thought that with f/w PRA-LX1C432 PRAGUE_L31 my phone will become dual sim. WRONG it still recognizes only 1 SIM card. Does any one really know if this phone can be flashed to a dual SIM version ? Does it have the necessary hardware since it only shows one IMEI ?
Sorry if there is already a post with this questions or if a broke any rule of this forum.
Many thanks in advance.

You cannot upgrade your phone from single sim to dual SIM. Dual SIM means that your phone has two slots for two SIM cards. Your phone has one. No software can change that.

that could help but it needs to connect to the phone via usb (last time i used octoplus was 7-8 years ago)- there might be a usb service to connect through internet but i dont know how safe is that.

No it won't work unless first you have to clone main imei via chimera tool or any other tool that help to colne imei and you have to buy dual sim tray also.
After that dr.keten rom will work as dual sim.
There are many video on YouTube how to clone imei for dual sim.

Hey, luckily it works for me as I have already. I flashed Stock android Q using odin and there was only 1 imei at that time, and after flashing Dr.Ketan's rom I have 2 imei and dual sim capability . And ofcourse dual sim tray is required.:good:

please can the process of converting N960N to N960F/DS be reversed, and how?
So, flashing the correct firmware for the device restore the phone to it's factory state with software updates available. Dual sim will be lost, (of course). and the device will show the true model as N960N, not N960F/DS

If it was sold as single SIM (L09), you cannot 'transform' (by changing firmware) to dual SIM (L29), because there are hardware differences.
For any flashing (changing cust for stock firmware, custom ROM, rooting, TWRP) you have to buy Bootloader code and unlock Bootloader (it is possible but the code is costly)

They are expensive. I'm also waiting for their answer (people say they answer from time to time, they depend on an insider, when he is able...):
https://imei.by/delivery
Ministry can also do it, little cheaper (40$) but you will need to open back cover and connect Testpoint pins. Minister will need Team Viewer remote access to your PC. I guess (didn't go for, waiting if I can buy from the first above) he will low-level flash an old Oreo, where from it was possible to generate BL code. Then he would, IMO, update back to Pie. Guy told me the operation might take an hour or two:
https://ministryofsolutions.com/paid-services/amp
I was also told that those can provide the code but for ridiculously high price (you can ask them):
https://funkyhuawei.club/
Finally, don't use them, they only unlock BL for one-time (and high price) you don't get the code:
https://chimeratool.com/

Exactly for VTR-L09 or some other Huawei model (it's not the same)
A year ago I played for a week and rebranded EVA-L09 to L19, tried a lot but it never became dual SIM.
To the other side, similar rebranding to dual SIM model worked fine and straightforward for P9 Lite
Edit: You could have provide a link to spread info and help the community (if single SIM P10 can be really rebranded to dual SIM)
This is what i got with MT tool
Can i install one of those updates and if ok how can i perform it
Thank's

Question T-Mobile version to Global... Best route currently?

I am looking for the best way to convert my T-Mobile model to the Global version... I'm guessing via Fastboot and fastbootd mode? I've seen a few threads on here but was slightly confused as some people said it worked and some say it didn't? Please advise
Same
Careful, there's no way back unless you pay someone shady. Make sure you are fully network unlocked, because the unlock tool doesn't exist on global
The best way is to buy a global version
Buy it? Is that a thing that happens now?

No. Check out the other threads on MSM work, it's not pretty.
I've retired my op10, don't have to deal with oppo anymore
Yeah, flashing away from TMobile is possible with the full Downgrade zips iirc. But there's no way back to NE2217, so be careful. I can confirm my NE2215 works great on TMobile but I bought mine from Best Buy, fully unlocked, global edition.
EDIT: Two people have Qualcomm crash dumped now in this thread, it seems the TMO variant (NE2217) does not like to be flashed away in traditional methods.
I'm sure flashing to NE2215 wouldn't harm service, but why would you want to when NE2217 seems to get similar support for now?

Dual-Sim doesn't work with NE2215 from what I know, that's an NE2213/1/0 specific feature. Although NE2215 has the contacts for it, I don't think you can actually use the dual sim. Pretty sure the conclusion reached was the 2215 doesn't have a second IMEI from Manufacture.
EDIT: Just googling "OnePlus 10 Pro Downgrade Android 13 to Android 12" You'll find the full rollback zips. There's 3, NA, INDIA, and EU.

Use NA in the US. But as the other's have said, you won't get dual SIM. If you have already SIM Unlocked your device and won't need to go back to 2217 for any reason, then go for it.
Is the process the same as other models?
If that is the case then why would anyone want to go back to a T-Mobile variant?
Surely the main benefit to change region would be to get timely updates and not be isolated with a rarer model.
I'm just curious as I've had carrier locked devices before and the first thing I did was to change it. In the end I sent my device off to get fixed (unrelated issue) they sent me the unlocked version for my country, I guess being rarer is prevalent not her on XDA but with oppo too.

As I've stated, if you didn't unlock your SIM from T-Mobile (these come locked), you will never be able to unlock it without TMobile rom if you end up on global.

I'll ask again, is the process for changing region the same?
Bare in mind this isn't for me, I'm in the UK

Yep.
If it's the same as the UK, the network has to unlock the phone for you to other sims, usually in the shape of a code you enter..
May be different in the US
Bootloader unlock is a code that you have to get from Oneplus (Token) and you have to have the carrier (T-mobile) unlock the network and they are very reluctant to do it. You have to have paid off the device and have had to be a customer for some time.

Then that would be required prior to changing region... I'm not sure why the region would be a requirement to unlock the device to other networks.
May be worth asking the method used for unlocking the device to other networks.
I got them to unlock my network while I'm still paying for the device, I don't want to rock the boat. I'm sure if anyone other than the guy who did it they would lock it down again.
