Low light - Sony Xperia X Real Life Review

At the club, at the bar, or just in your mom's basement, nighttime is when you come out to play. Rate this thread to express how the Sony Xperia X's camera performs when no or low light is present. A higher rating indicates that the camera sensor "sees" lots of light in dim conditions, and that the resulting photos have minimal noise. A higher rating also indicates that when the flash fires, the resulting photo is evenly-lit without any bright spots.

very good

not that good. could have been better knowing Sony

What is up with this thread's rating? Are we talking about the same phone? lol
iPhones are the benchmark for very good, anything above it is exceptional. Anything below is average to meh.
As for low-light on the Xperia X, sorry, but lack of OIS and the limitations of no Camera2 API make it very weak, especially considering it's by the only company that happens to be a major DSLR AND smartphone maker.
I didn't buy the Xperia X for its camera, but boy if I had I'd have returned it rather quick.

very good unless in night only.

same here, I was holding s7 edge today. I was expecting a little difference but there is a huge one...I'm not trusting online reviewers anymore.
Unless you have a tripod at the club, and people are not moving, it is pretty bad. Pictures are noisy and dark, and the biggest issue: Auto mode is really bad. All the reviews say that LG V10 has super night vision, but they don't take into consideration actual life situations.
And when are we getting the Nougat update?

Insane quality, superb pro mode. Best noise wipe software, may have more options in camera app.

Low light photography is just average.
Is the low light picture quality really as bad as people say? I've seen some Sony cameras with 1 micrometer pixel size but their low light quality isn't too shabby. Could the poor le 2 night photos be bad because of the OmniVision sensor?

:laugh::laugh:Too much expectations from a low cost phone...just average low light performance.
Its bad not so good. There should be atleast a decent lighting. Tried other camera apps but same result
Flash a Pie rom and then try night sight in Gcam.....low light photography capability increases drastically and can even rival some of the higher end dual camera phones released in 2018-2019.....try pixel experience rom as night sight works perfectly in it....if it crashes, apply the fix stated in pg 60-62 in that same Pixel Experience Rom thread....

The camera is not that good in low light conditions, it's average. Maybe a Pixel Camera port could help but I'm not aware of any port available for this phone yet.

3/10. The phone really suffers a lot in low light photos - gives a 2008 camera phone quality vibe.
