The screen is AMOLED, so blacks are perfect.

the screen is super amoled so it's really good for a budget phone

yes it gets perfectly black colors since it uses amoled screen, but after 2 years of using this phone, i noticed that the white colors on it aren't that white anymore and it shows a very light yellow color instead of pure white. probably amoled screens degrade overtime

Meh contrast. Blacks are kind of a dark gray.
Best black levels I've seen on an IPS display to date, ambient display looks practically like OLED on here.
True contrast ratio is about 1:1500 and looks amazing.
Huge improvement over the N5 which was no slouch in the display quality department itself.
Blacks are as good as I would ever expect on a LCD display.
EDIT: Just did a side by side comparison with my Nexus 5 and the blacks/contrast on the Nexus 5X is better than the Nexus 5. Also, screen uniformity on the Nexus 5X is better. The screen obviously can't do pure black like an AMOLED can but it's pretty good for a LCD with perfect uniformity(at least that I can tell) across the entire screen. On the Nexus 5X with a full black background in a totally dark room with the brightness at 100% and my Nexus 5X has ZERO light bleed from the edges of the display. I think this is the first time in my life that I can say that. Every LCD I have ever seen(smartphone, TV, computer monitor, etc) had some level of light bleed from the edges.
I still prefer AMOLED to LCD but as far as LCDs go I have 0 complaints for the Nexus 5X.

Clarity/resolution

The HTC 10 has a crazy crisp display. Just kidding, this is automated text so who knows if this screen is any good. So, you be the judge! A higher rating indicates that it's extremely sharp and clear, and that you cannot see pixels with your naked eye.

The display is very sharp and everything is crystal clear. No problems here.
I've gotten bright spots on the LCD that really make it weird to look at on bright backgrounds, dark ones are fine though

Warranty should cover that.

You will be getting 1080p AMOLED display in the P2. So the display is sharp and excellent more than enough. Probably you will not get any problem during even very sunny day p2 can handle it with high brightness. With AMOLED display you will get deep black perfectly and punchy colors. AMOLED displays are extreme battery friendly✌

Ultra deep blacks, almost Amoled-like, quiet impressive for an LCD screen.

Mine has a reddish tint. Setting the colour temperature to the coldest possible setting only minimizes the tint.

I think this isn't quite accurate. I came from an Amoled to the HTC U11 and it took me a week to get used to the colours. At first felt very washed out. However now it's fine now my eyes have adjusted.

No, not at all.
There was on the firsts HTC 10, but not a single one on HTC U11
You can control color saturation with custom kernel to be closer to amoled, this is what I used to do with my previous HTC

Mine has a reddish tint as well when screen brightness is low. Did you solved this issue, or did it go away by itself like htc 10 users were reporting?
Thanks
Mine has a reddish tint too when the brightness is under 80-85%, and almost disappear at full brightness. Is there a fix for this?? I should sent it to warranty?

All my blacks seem gray. Can't figure out how to adjust them, but my Note8 is way better
I agree my note 8 has better colors and black. And the white looks bright and clean.
Thinking to send it back.
Hey guys which version of the phone do you have?
Yes, Note 8 definitely has a brighter more colourful display.
I have the N20 Ultra Exynos version and the display is very underwhelming indeed.
I have the snapdragon version and the display is very disappointing to my eyes.
About to send it back, as I pass by a Samsung shop and the guy ran a test and said the screen is not defective and cannot be calibrated either
Snapdragon 512GB USA model here, Blacks look black(SuperAMOLED) but gray looks off, white looks dirty yellowish.
Not great. Its good, but only giving 3 stars because my OnePlus 8 Pro looks much better. Also others have said the contrast and colors are much better on their Note 10+ too. The vivid profile should be much better than it is for a $1300 phone.
