its decent. i thought my Galaxy s4 5" 1080p was soft and not enough Utill i used my old galaxy S3 720p 4,8" and
went back to S4, the S4 felt like Super mega giga ultra extra Uber Sharp and crisp and more than id ever need resolution display.
Use a brick for a phone for a week, then use current phone, your desire to buy a new phone goes away...
too bad my S4 broke and i get to use my S4 until my Axon 7 comes...shipped from china.

Actually amazed by the display clarity at this price
Not sure if it's me (happened with my BLU Studio X) but sometimes when the brightness is turned down to the lowest setting, a visible "flickering" of brightness can be seen. Very slight, but noticeable.
Other than that, a great display. Easy to read text.

I'm impressed with the screen quality as well.
Playing YouTube video yesterday's presidential debate - R1 HD vs Nexus 5 side by side, the N5 at native resolution 1080p has inferior clarity and sharpness compared to the R1 HD in 720p.
It's unbelievable. I'm mind blown. Really.
The overall quality of the display is fantastic. It looks and feels "flagship", even though it's only 720p. Even with Night Shift mode on, it looks great.
The only display I've used that's better is the one on my LG G2, and that's because it has an AMOLED display.

It's sharp and clear and stays true to colours but does lack vibrancy of an AMOLED
Tab A 8 (2019) might be okay for video but not good for text. It's not even FHD.

Resolution is great. Even when running at FHD+ its still more than sharp enough for every day tasks. The only time I need to do QHD+ is when watching a 4k video, which is super sharp!
