Not the most ergonomic but not bad at all

I'm sorta surprised there aint more comments here. Isnt this a popular new phone? The phone's software is typical. There isn't any option when there should be, for much of the software. Why in '17 I can't change myy notification shape, color, transparency and persistency is just lacking this feature is boggles the minds.

Before getting the U11, I had the One M8s, for about two years. I basically fell in love with HTC's UI and ease of use. Seriously now, it's way better than Samsung's, for example, and somehow close to stock Android, if you ask me, from some points of view.
Overall, it's very easy to use and you can't go wrong with the camera software.

Camera software is okay...it lags at times and I don't like the interface much.
The camera software on the Nexus 5X is not bad, but at the moment, it's limited in 3rd party app support as some viewfinders are flipped. There is also an issue with it reloading regardless of it being in the recentapp menu; even going to another app really quickly can reload the camera. Also, each time it reloads, it does so on default (rear cam, etc). Other than that, the UI is easy to use, the additional features and recording modes are nice, and HDR+ is really useful. I wish exposure adjustments were more consistent, as it's easy to get "blown out" images that lose detail to blobs of white.
I find I still have stupid focus issues, where it goes to pulls focus, goes past the focus point, and sits on a complete out of focus point...so annoying
Stock android app is so so. Improved a lot in terms of features but will be hard to find things for first time users
I'm no photographer, but at least give the user the ability to set exposure, lighting, scene modes.

This thread is to talk about the apps on the phone itself, not what features you want added.

I left my star rating and a comment. I'm not sure what you're talking about? My comment is that the Google Camera app is somewhat lackluster and that it would be better with a few additional features.
Google is good at making things reliable and feature-poor.
It has a nice app, very simple and intuitive. It gets more lags and bugs on effects that it sould have being a google stock app. But is nice and has a really attractive design. Also HDR+ processing could be faster...
Google why cant we disable microphone recording? seriously i wanted to record a video without sound and i couldn't do that.
Simple but is does great job!

Better then TW but still need some improvements.. some of the setting seems hard to find.
The standard stuff is easy to figure out and use ... the more involved stuff is laid out quite well.
They say that LG has terrible UI, but coming from CM, I don't dislike it at all.
Lack of customization especially for the lock screen. A shame really.

I have it for two days, and it feels great so far.
Solid 4/5. Has some good things, has some bad ones. Most of the problems can be fixed with software updates, so maybe I will update my rating.
Had the Nokia 5 over a week now, used to have an Iphone 6+ before.
Great screen quality, great build quality.
Does slow down on occasion, but easily solvable by closing a few apps (but its not a Samsung Galaxy s9!)
Overall for a budget device really happy with it!

Settings is organized well and the homescreen settings is organized well.
Among the best of the stock android like appearance, I do not like stock android lenovo somewhat fixed it.
I use Evie launcher mostly because its better than stock and better than the lenovo ui.
There are some issues though some widgets can't be replaced if you remove them literally they don't exist in the widgets menu like the stock clock on the desktop.

TBH miui is getting boring, and there are many time when I am unable to find some settings I have to relay more on search option
I have purchased this for a family member of mine. Presently I am using it for a day or two for testing to see if everything is working fine within the return window.
MiUi is out right intolerable for me who loves custom ROM and using Z2 Plus (SD820/4GB).
But I kind of appreciate Xiaomi for their update commitment for their devices running MiUi.
UI is good enough for some one who is a completely non technical person.
Battery backup is excellent, so are their overall tuning. Yes there are some issues but their update cycle is dependable to get continued update for fixing any such.
But there are complaints, even from those users.
UX look and feel issue (China Factor)
How on earth MiUi Dev's think everyone likes Chinese bubbly design language?
Look at Oppo, they are Chinese to start with but Oxygen OS is getting so much love from rest of the world. Look at Samsung with their UI. So much different from stock android but loved around the world.
Can't they have a different UI which rest of the world will like?
Complicated Navigation
MiUi is getting complicated with its settings layout. Things are embedded so deep, it's problematic for non technical users for find their way around.
Getting Old and Boring
Once again another complain I am hearing from non technical user of MiUi. New device doesn't give new feeling anymore since the UI is kept same for half a decade now.
Similar issue what non technical users are reporting.
Like for example, my family member who would be using this device refused to upgrade from Samsung On8 (J7) to this year's On8 (J8) since everything looked same. Even though underneath, it's a completely different device.
Ads and privacy issues
Yeah they recover their cost from ads but it's utterly objectionable when they are showing adult ads without any specific option to toggle or filter such ads.
Lastly why do they need so much permission for ads? Our privacy too matters.. You really don't need so much personal information for showing ads.
No notch Support for MiUi
MiUi isn't yet notch compatible. Simply it's a cut in display. Nothing else. Notifications bar needs to optimised for this Notch. But judging from their MiUi agresive update cycle, hopefully we can have a better notch management.
Thanks.
3 starts. There's no 4K 30 FPS or Full HD 60 FPS recording option, and I know the sensor is capable of it.
