[SOLVED] Installing Gapps in Flyme 6.x - Meizu M2 / M2 Mini Questions & Answers

Hi,
I have Meizu M2, I tried almost every custom rom available but none of them has a decent camera app like Flyme has (takes photos instantly without freezing + various features) and Flyme is the lightest on battery. The only problem with Flyme is Gapps. I tried flashing them with TWRP with no success (install process says it's done, but I can't find them in the drawer or in system/app. The weirdest thing is that it takes space ). I tried installing them manually by copying the apks and the libs to /system/ but files appear when just after I copy and disappear when I restart. I tried Gapps installer from the Meizu app store but it's so buggy and has many problems with sync and backup and I cannot afford that because I use Gapps for work.
Any solution?

thing is space is insufficient for G-Apps in F6
if you are still rooted remove many bloatwares
use pico version of G-Apps and install them it will take care of all

I found a solution on a russian forum, just flash it using Flash Fire, only root needed no custom recovery required (although I didn't try).

[Q] Adding gapps to Droid 1 with CM6

I finally made the jump and rooted my Droid 1 today and installed CM6. I had issues with Rom Manger giving me an error when trying to download CM6 with Google Apps, so I downloaded the ROM from the web and installed it manually. Works like a charm.
I tried to go back to ROM Manager and just install Google Apps, but it keeps giving me an error during downloading.
I still need the Google Apps installed... I have downloaded the zip and moved it to my SD card, but can't figure out how to flash it. (been searching the past hour for an answer) I have gone to recovery mode but it looks like that is only to update ROMs (update.zip) am I missing something easy here?
Thanks

It depends on what Recovery image you are using. For some reason ROM Manager gets a bad CRC or other error when downloading the GApps addon update zip. Don't know why. However if you get the latest file directly from the CyanogenMod site (hardware appropriate of course) you can install it from the recovery screen.
I'm using ClockworkMod Recovery 2.5.0.1 and it allows you to specify a .zip of any name and directory on the SD-card (you have to mount it first). I'm not sure if normal SPRecovery allows for that. Make no mistake, installing the GApps is basically a ROM update, as it installs them to the System apps folder (which is essentially read only).
One thing to note once you get it installed. Sometimes you get issues with updating the ROM's apps (including GApps). This was notoriously noticed with the new Car Home and the new YouTube apps. In order to fix it, you have to use RootExplorer, TitaniumBackup or another SuperUser enabled browser or app manager to forcefully remove the system app, then get the updated app from the Market.
I hope that helps.
I'm using ClockworkMod Recovery 2.5.0.1 but didn't see a menu item for installing zip files. I ended up renaming the Gapps file to Update.zip and flashed it in recovery mode. Worked like a charm.
Thanks
Do any of you have this error itself?
I'd like to see if I could make sense of it. Back when I installed Cyanogenmod 6.0.0 on my new phone, about 2 weeks ago, I was able to install it with GApps with no problem.

Well, it means no play store so it's not helpful for me at least, i want to remove anything besides google maps and play store.
Anyways, thank you for your hard work!
Alternatives to Google Play Store are:
Aptoide
APKTOP
APPBRAIN
And we cannot use location service.
Does it work in jb also? I would really need it!
Edit: Yes it does! Great thanks!
Ps. I don t use this zip to get rid of gapps completely, but to clean gapps before installing a different gapp zip or when switching from ics to jb and viceversa ! (Full wipe don t delete gapps and some roms don t delete them also so this zip is very useful!)

It is a bad .zip... You should try redownload zip
there appears to be an error in the zip... installation aborted message.
can you please reupload.
Can this be done manually with adb by deleting each app listed in updater-script ?
DOES NOT WORK. I get error 6. I think the ZIP is messed up.
[FLASHABLE ZIP] Remove GApps in ROM: now supports Android 10
NOTE: script no more maintained. Even not try it on Android 11/12/99.
There by default not possible to edit files on system partitions (here patch) and their quantity has increased.
Also firmwares even more depend on gapps so risk of bootloop even higher.
Script in first post very discounted and therefore deleting not all files.
Here's updated version. Script automatically mounts /system and /vendor, you don't need do it by yourself.
Script compatible with Android 2.3...10.0
Guaranteed delete will be only on custom rom's with built-in or OpenGapps and Pixel / Nexus / Android One firmware due of possible other file naming in manufacturer stock firmware.
I tried to collect all files related to Google.
Script removes apps from /system and /vendor partitions. Probably some of them was updated and additionally stored in internal memory.
So you need manually delete a bit of remainders as normal app.
Batch deleting available with root in Link2SD
Some bits of files can left on device (like important WebView), but almost all other will be removed.
Also here open source version of gapps (microG)
IMPORTANT!
– Maybe some stuff or whole ROM will broken after applying this ZIP because modern firmwares very depends from gapps
– I've tried to remove as much possible Google-related files
– don't apply script after wipe /data, only after first boot. Otherwise execute these commands
– Before applying set Settings > Apps > Gear icon > Default apps > Voice & assist > both to "None" (source)
– Script removes Google Launcher, install 3rd-party app or device will not boot!
– Script removes stock Google keyboard, install 3rd party before applying!
– Script removes Google Dialer, install 3rd-party before applying!
– ...and many other apps
– Apps that display Google Maps can't be installed
– A lot of apps requests Google Play Store and Google Play Services which will be removed
– Network location will be unavailable because it's part of gapps
– Recommended to wipe dalvik-cache to rid out of unused odex-files
>>> Use it at your own risk and make full backup via recovery before flashing! <<<
Previous more "lite" version: remove_gapps_2.3-8.1.zip

Here's updated version attached to post.

Disclaimer: _maybe_ some stuff or all ROM will broken after applying this ZIP.
Use at your own risk.
Especially apps with embedded GoogleMaps such as Foursquare, Instagram and many other.
They will be hidden in Play Store and can't be installed manually because of lack of framework for it.
So there's two versions. One with prefix "Safe" keeps framework.

Help with cyanogen gapps

I want to try cyanogenmod and install all that is needed, obviously also vending and stuff but I don't want to have goolge+ nor hangout not gmail. Can I install gapps and remove them 100% safely? Is there a way to install only a subset of the apps contained in the zip? Any solution?

Best thing to do is to just flash the gapps then manually remove the apks of the apps you don't want from the system. You could modify the zip (remove apks) resign it and flash the 'lighter' zip, but make sure it is done properly because the last time I done it I ended up in a bootloop which pretty much wasted my time.
What do you mean exactly? Should I flash, boot up, and with a file browser seek these files and delete them, or delete them after flashing, without letting my device boot up?

Flash the ROM then the gapps, then reboot the device via the recovery. Once it is booted use the built in file manager (or your own choice manager) with root access to remove the apks. Once removed reboot the device and your done. This is what I always do, I don't like messing around with zips.
Also be careful of what you remove, if unsure then google the apk name, better safe than sorry.
Or alternatively you can use a claimed to be lightest gapps package.

I'd also recommend using a light/slim/small gapps package, you can find many of them on xda. If some apps are missing (like Gmail or maps), you can install most of them from play store once you have the Google service installed (they are on any gapps package)
Go for the pico modular package from the following link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942

Can't install sony apps on Cm12.1 (aicp)

Hi everyone,
I would like to install sony apps on my Xperia SP running aicp (no tangerine kernel). Problem is, apks won't install (app cannot be installed).
As far as I learned, it is because you have to disable signature verification, which I tried thanks to the thread on sont cross device development and with lucky patcher.
The two mehthods above had failed. When I restarted my device with the modified services.jar or the patches, it rebooted, started, then kernel adiutor says "applying settings on boot". When it finishes, device restarts again and keeps restarting until i delete lucky patcher or reinstall the original services.
now my question is, do you guys know a fix for this? Is it kernel's fault? Should i download tangerine? Is it because of kernel adiuitor? Are there other ways to install on cm?
Please respond, and thank you for reading!
Kind regards,
Deleunes254
did you try to push the app into system with the right permissions ?

Lucky patcher itself? No i only installed lucky patcher apk, enabled it in xposed, restarted but then things happened. For the services.jar method, I set permissions to rw-r--r-- as told. Is it a fault maybe in my cellphone? @flash- maybe if i later cleaninstall Aicp10, which I probably have to clean install, and I do a clean whipe, maybe it would then work? :/ It's a reaaally strange bug and don't know how it's happening :/ google wasn't my friend this time :/
Gonna try universal apk

Got the music app working now....just pushed the apk in system>app with correct permissions and boom....started working
Hey! Can any one test this zip. Just flash this in recovery. I haven't tested cause my phone is in service centre (slipped from my hand).
After flashing see if music is compatible in play store or can be installed manually.
Please backup ur rom before flashing.
Please report if it works.

You don't need to reflash the ROM to remove system apps. Either go into the /system/app folder with a file explorer with root permissions & delete the apk or folder containing the apk or use something like Sys app remover to get rid of it. Just tried installing Music via adb and although I was successful, the bloody app refused to start. You know the standard Android "unfortunately, app has stopped working blah blah" nonsense. Used ES File Explorer to remove it.
Also dirty flashing probably won't help since it leaves what you installed as it is and you installed these apps. So either do a clean installation or remove them like I mentioned.

You mean just copy paste the apk in system/app folder with ES and change permission to rw-r-r? Did that and also tried it with adb but no luck. Same old "unfortunately, music has stopped" crap. Might have to try the other way now - flash the ported apps and update them via playstore.
Is it working for you properly? From where and which version of Music did you install?

HD 7 Google Play Games app "Error -505" on 5.1

I've gotten my Kfire worked out pretty well and everything works as it should except one glaring problem:
Every rom I try based on 5.1 Lollipop is unable to install the Google Play Games app from the Google Play Store or by means of apk. The "Unkown Error" it gives is "Error -505".
I've been looking all over the internet over the course of a few weeks and I can't find a working answer anywhere. The closest I could find was that in 5.0 some adobe air based apps would give you a -505 and clearing your Google Play Services cache or updating your rom would fix it.
Right now I'm using the last available nightly of CM11, but I would like to continue using the current nightlies of CM12. Seeing as how I have this tablet to play Android games, it's very important I find a fix for this.
Solution
Installing from the store will not work. Neither will installing from adb command line or installing an apk file.
I ended up selecting a gapps package that contained Google Play Apps in it.
I prefer a slim package, so I used the aroma graphical installer to only install the ones I wanted.

Yes. That's what I did. I already had the apps I wanted installed so I only selected the Google Play Games app from the package. It's all graphical so it's easy to use. You can also use that package to remove default rom apps and bloatware.
I had no problems with the most recent CM12.1 nightly but I didn't test extensively before switching to SlimLP (for preference).
