Thank u bro...keep gng.

Hi abhay, great work. I unlocked BL and installed aicp, but in the Lenovo help app it's showing the phone is still in warranty. So if I relock it somehow and use this boot logo, can I avail that warranty if something happens?

What is this bootloader unlock warning??
Is it the unlocked logo shown during boot on the boot image

When a device with unlocked bootloader boots up, It shows a unlocked sign under the Lenovo logo.
Maybe that way people from the service center make out if a device has been unlocked and whether it still avails the warranty

I too has that doubt....how can you relock again. Normal fastboot don't allow that.
I think if you can relock, you get warranty bcz people there check bill, imei and bootloader lock or unlock status.
It's not like 15 day timer break warranty. Warranty is broken only when carryin support see unlocked logo and status on boot screen.
One can say Carryin support is dumb to differentiate relocked and locked.
If they say database shows its not under warranty, you have bill and bootloader locked status, you can say it's Lenovo server side error and have authority to file a complaint on Lenovo. So timer has nothing to do.

[Q] bootloader unlock

I have a Nexus 6 that came rooted and with busybox.
how do I know if the bootloader has been unlocked?
You can't root it without unlocking the boot loader, so if its rooted then that's all the evidence you need

Also, as soon as you turn on the phone, the black screen with the white Google logo comes up, on the bottom of the screen should show and unlocked padlock. That also means your bootloader is unlocked.
do you see an open padlock on the bottom of the screen while booting? then it's unlocked. also, you can boot into the bootloader, itll say unlocked. but if you already havd root, its probably unlocked, or he relocked it. if you have root, you can use an app to re unlock it.

you are right, I see the padlock unlocked and the word "unlocked" on the bootloader screen.
thanks.
I'm coming from a Samsung device and have no idea how to flash roms on a Motorola device.
any suggestions you can give me?

I suggest you start with this, to learn adb fastboot and flashing.
https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images
If you run into the missing system.img problem here is the link to fix it:

This way you can start from the beginning.

Yes unlocked. Didn't you remember unlocking your bootloader ?
If you don't then someone else did it. Means your phone's been used by someone else before.

But the last motorola device I unlocked required a key to unlock the bootloader, which was exclusively tied to my device and my motorola account. They have strict warranty regulations refarding unlocking. How is it different this time?

i was really surprised and happy to learn that you are actually the official maintainer of Lineage OS for payton, so i was curious if
you're going to buy this device and develop roms.
I've avoided Moto devices past year because the specs and high price which reflected on the development(in the price range i could afford), it wasn't much. but this device has really good specs so i hope developers like you get on board so noobs like me will have better functioning roms.
does unlocking the bl erase user data?

Nokia 8 BRICKED ( Critical Locked )

Hello, First post here so bear with me if i sound like a noob
My Nokia 8 TA- 1004 is bricked and I cant re-flash stock firmware because even though my Bootloader is unlocked, Critical is not unlocked ;( . I can only access Twrp and that doesn't seem of much help, I've tried unlocking critical but fastboot commands just wont work ( adb commands do work, while in twrp ). Also I panicked when my phone got bricked and wiped everything including the system with twrp ;(. Is there anything i can do now, or has it all gone pear shaped for my phone?:crying: would it work if I tried to restore a twrp backup? can someone with 1004 send me their backup
Do you have twrp now? If so go to reboot and click on bootloader. You will get into download mode where you can use fastboot commands to unlock critical

Well that is strange?
you used
PHP:
fastboot flash unlock unlock.key
fastboot flashing unlock_critical
right?
i bet he didn't write the command "fastboot flash unlock unlock.key" again.

Yes, i cant do it because i dont have the unlock.key anymore and nokia wont send me another...... is there any other way to go about it, perhaps flashing the partitions manually? Or can someone here make unlock keys?

Well @hikari_calyx used to generate unlock keys but he stopped generating because n8 recieved official unlock method but i would try to contact him. Did you deleted the e mail that hmd sent or link broken? If the link is broken now i would try to contact hmd first

Yep, Link is broken.
I did try emailing them but they haven't replied yet, also chatted with their customer service rep who says "This service is not provided anymore" strange.
Just unbricked it, at least somewhat. I reflashed the system and boot Imgs and i can now boot the phone though i doubt i can run the phone like this for a long time. I've tried to obtain the unlock key by using the hmd bootloader unlocker but it gives me a "google server error" strange nothing seems to be going my way. Just curious hmd says that devices can no longer be unlocked, is this true? and how can i downgrade abl?

You have to select the "wrong" option. See https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...ageos-17-0-oneplus-3-3t-t3990061/post81489665
Also, make sure you are running a rom that has a properly signed boot image.
Los 17.1 and TWRP 3.4 both work with a locked bootloader.
