Huawei P8 Lite 2017 PRA-LX1 Brick after trwp backup - P8 Lite (2017) Discussion

Hello everyone
I came to you because I root my p8 lite 2017, but impossible to put a code, deleted an app, etc .. so I looked for a solution to put my original phone back, and so I tried A back up by TRWP, then I tried to restore the original recovery to make a factory reset. I followed this tutorial
[How to unbrick]
The procedure of rescue is risky.
Without appropriate knowledge, I advise.
It is only successful if the instructions are executed exactly.
This TWRP backup rom is not suitable for normal use. It was created for the following purpose:
- Rescue of bricked phones.
- Force an OTA update.
Do not root this rom!
Unzip the download 2017-08-11-RESCUE.ROM.PRA.OTA.B164.to.170.rar (1.05 GB).
This creates the TWRP backup:
2017-08-11-RESCUE.ROM.PRA.OTA.B164.to.170
installation:
Copy my backup to the TWRP backup path to the Ext Sd.
Boot into the Bootloader.
Stock Recovery flash by adb.
In the recovery start
Perform a factory reset.
Boot into the Bootloader.
TWRP flash by adb.
To start TWRP.
There data wipe
And restore my backup.
In the Bootloader start and
Flash by adb the Stock Recovery.
There then again a factory reset.
reboot
When the boot process is finished,
Go to Settings> Update program> New version> Update.
Will not be offered, in the Stock Recovery again perform a factory reset.
The upgrade to the B170 succeeds only with sim-card.
You have a firmware update and a new firmware up-to-date.
Congratulation!

Problem, now I am stuck on erecovery, or fastboot, but I do not know anything else, when I wanted to restore the original recovery, here is what it puts me:
Download free download size 471859200 bytes
Sending 'recovery' (35550 KB) ...
OKAY [0.961s]
Writing 'recovery' ...
FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)
finished. Total time: 0.968s
I do not know what to do .. When I try with update.app on the sd card, it puts me an error after 5%.
I have the impression that the bootloader is relock, how to recover the product id to get the unlock code?
Thank you very much to all those who will help me!
PS; Sorry for my bad english i use google translate

Hi.
Sorry to hear about your problem. I still don't have much experience with Huawei phones and I have been following @ChinHon threads to learn also.
Since the unbrick method you described above is from one of ChinHon threads, I have made a mention to him already in this post hoping that he comes and reads this thread of yours.
I am very sure that when he sees it will give you the best advice to unbrick your beloved phone.
Sorry I couldn't help more than this but I am still unsure about Huawei procedures and I am also learning.
Hang tight a little while longer buddy and good luck!

You have 2 choices with this.
If you can still boot into TWRP,
1. Flash the Beta Update.zip
2. Power off phone.
3. Press up button whilst powering up phone.
4. You will now be in stock recovery and you can perform a factory reset.
5. the device will now boot in to N beta but will be missing the vendor apps.
There is another way to fix if this doesn't work. Tell me if this method works first.
Edit: I just read in the op that you flashed the update and had stock recovery.
The reason it won't boot is because you need to have b322 flashed and you have to factory reset to repair the corrupt file system. To do this follow these instructions.
1. You need to flash the Boot, Recovery and System images from b322 in fastboot.
2. Then enter stock recovery (Vol + and Power)
3. Then factory reset (this is essential as it repairs the file system and enables boot)
4. The device will then boot.
5. (Optional )If you want to go back from the beta you have to flash the rollback.app to b300 through th dload method first then you can flash a Android 6.0 through the dload method.

You can flash both.
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash recovery2 recovery2.img
I don't think it is essential but it won't hurt to do it anyway.

I seen you PM. I am not sure it will wok by flashing B182. I think you have to flash B322 first.
Regards
fist you have to flash stock recovery from emui 5(android N) through fastboot.
second , download the rollback package, extract it and put it on dload folder of external storage.
third, turn off the phone , and press vol up + vol down + power button together to enter forced update mode.
if it is successful system will boot and you should flash android M firmware using dload method then u should unlock bootloader, install twrp, wipe /system /cache /data and then flash update.zip(android N) and hw_data of your firmware one after another.
i hope this help you.
still phone is not booting
I redownload b322, extracted Boot.img System.img Recovery.img Recovery2.img and Cust.img with
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2433454 Update Extractor
Flashed all .img true fastboot
But still nothing
Stuck on bootloader screen "Your device is unlocked, and can't be trusted"
Maybe i need flash some more images from b322.
Its look like phone cant pass bootloader.
Any sugestions?
P.S. Phone still have warranty, but booloader is unlocked
and fastboot oem relock ************** ends with failed.
"Failed - root cant trusted"
Sugestions how to lock it?
I had my phone bricked from testing cm, and going back to stock. My solution was to flash dload and recovery from the 182, followed by dload flash of 182.
@richish
caution : these commands will format the partition
can u use these command ?
"fastboot format /system"
"fastboot format /data"
or "fastboot erase /system"=> this will erase system partition
Phone is live now.
I downloaded DC-Phoenix and bought 15 credits
flashed stock B182 via DC-phoenix and phone booted.
I recomand this apllication for everybody who have similar problems.
THX for everybody who helpped.

DC-Phoenix is not cheap but it also cured my phone after bricking it with flashfire where all other methods did not work.
if you use it follow the instructions carefully and do the 2 step flashing although it will work after the first one. if you don`t do the second flash the partition sizes are wrong and a dload update will fail.

Hi everyone
I would like to share the problem that i am having with my p9 , so maybe i can get your help.
Firstly i had L19C185 version and i changed Oeminfo in order to install c636 Beta 7.0 Nougat.
I installed the nougat but then realized that i dont have stock apps in my phone, so by mistakely tried to install TWRP for 6.0 Marshmallow and my problem started here.
Now my phone can not boot. its stuck in Phone is booting now ( the screen when you unlock bootloader after huawei logo) , and its never booting. it stays like that.
I tried to flash rboot.img , recovery.img and System.Img from fast boot. but whenever im trying to flash system.img after boot and recovery.img, a get an error and never succeeded to flash system.img. Im trying to flash these .img files from L19C636b180.
Can you please help me or give me some advice because none of mobile services couldnt fix and flash new software. maybe because they dont know exactly what should they do. and in my country i couldnt find anyofficial huawei service provider.
Please help me how to fix my phone.
I also had serious problems with flashing the thing back to stock.
TWRP was broken too for me.
I've done that to fix it all
The ONLY way that worked for me was
1. Download EVA-L19C636B168 from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/rom-stock-rom-eva-l19c636b168-t3419586
2. Download that SRK tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/tool-srk-tool-huawei-bootloader-root-t3374068
3. Flash the recovery from the SRK tool, you can do that with the tool or directly via fastboot (i don't know other proper source for the correct recovery img)
4. Put the image EVA-L19C636B168 (UPDATE.app) in the "dload" folder of your sd card
5. Start phone in dload mode (Hold all 3 buttons at start) and let the update do it's job
What about recovery??? Does 3 button combination works? Whats heppens if u hold volup and power button when turning phone on!
Situation looks similar what i had.
Only solution for me was dc-phoenix.
U have tu buy 15 points to flash phone (15eur) But it works.
I'm 99% sure that there are bootloader comands what is same as for dc-phoenix,but i dont know them.
Sent from my EVA-L19 using XDA-Developers mobile app

Forced recovery stuck at 5%

Hey all. I was trying to rollback my P9 to a stock ROM, but it failed and now I am stuck with a bricked P9 (bootloop).
My phone is a European P9 (EVA-L09C432). I have an unlocked bootloader.
- Huawei eRecovery and HiSuite restore does not work.
- I've tried forcing the update using the SRK Tool brick utility, but receive the message "FAILED (remote: sparse flash write failure)" when it's strats writing 'system'.
- My TWRP backup does not work, I had a 7GB backup that installs fine, but the phone is still stuck in a bootloop.
- I can flash EVA-L09C432B378 ROM using the SRK brick utility fine, but the phone is still stuck in a bootloop.
- After I have installed B378 and try to force flash B136 using the dload method, it either gets stuck on the "going into restore mode" or it goes to the "installing package" screen, where it is stuck at 5% until it reboots.
Any suggestions?
try one more time install rollback package by download mode
I've tried. Several times, all day :crying: My process:
Write TWRP from fastboot so I can boot into TWRP and transer UPDATE.app to the dload folder
Reboot into fastboot
Write stock recovery image from fastboot
Boot into recovery mode
Get stuck at 5% on the "Installing update" screen.
I've tried the UPDATE.app or firmware B136 (stock), and UPDATE.app for B378 (Nougat)
Both get stuck at 5%.
I'm stuck at the bootloop
isn't srk tool only for MM?
maybe try extract recovery , boot and system partition from b378 and flash by fastboot , next start flash rollback package by download mode
I noticed when I tried to restore my backup using TWRP it failed at "vendor" (Failed to wipe vendor). I receive this issue at vendor and product.
I tried using fastboot to flash vendor and product manually, I receive these error messages:
"failed: remote command not allowed"
The phone won't allow me to write vendor and product.img... but my bootloader was unlocked?
Is it possible I could have relocked my bootloader? How am I supposed to get the bootloader code for my P9 again :/ It's nearly impossible.
I managed to use the recovery dload method to install a beta version of B378 (build number NRD90M test-keys). Will now try to use the recovery method to roll back to B136 and update back to B378 again.

Ota updates always go. If twrp is on the recovery1 partition, the update aborts during installation. If twrp is on the recovery2 (eRecovery) partition, it works fine. The eRecovery is always overwritten without checking. The recovery only after checking if a stock exists.
ChinHon said:
[How to Dual Recovery] Huawei PRA (prague) - Android 7
The firmware should be updated, a full version to be flashed, we need to install a flashable zip , other flash operations are on, or we want to install Linage OS.
Then we need a fully functional TWRP recovery.
Would not it be convenient if you do not always flash it, but simply "switch" could?
That's what we do in the future, because we are now aligning a dual recovery.
Thats is quite easy:
Requirements:
OEM and FRP unlocked
Huawei PRA
Preparation:
ADB set up and flash knowledge available.
We both flash recoveries in the correct order:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash recovery2 twrp.img
That never needed stock Recovery2 (eRecovery) is overwritten.
Now both recoveries are present on the device and can be called anytime.
In the stock we come as usual with key combination Volup + Power, in the TWRP same, but with USB connection. (PC or charger)
When OS updating, the Recovery2 is overwritten with the eRecovery and must
are then replaced with TWRP.
The advantages for the future
- Direct exchange of TWRP in stock and vice versa, without rebooting,
- during updates, no unrooting and no Factory Reset (automatically if necessary)
- for flash operations, or Wipes per stock, immediately switched to TWRP
- in normal operation that "thinks" EMUI "all original".
*****important*****
To Lineage OS installation:
factory reset in stock recovery
factory reset in TWRP
wipe: System and Data in TWRP
flash: Vendor in TWRP Terminal
flash: * Lineage * .zip in TWRP
now make full backup in TWRP
To install the Rescue Rom:
factory reset in stock recovery
factory reset in TWRP
wipe data in TWRP
restore rescue backup
now make full backup in TWRP
In the future, the TWRP recovery now works with all functions.
After some reboots, the following has been shown:
The datapartition is mountable in TWRP,
but is not reliably secured or restored.
Therefore, never delete the internal memory and data partition,
or a factory reset. I have had the experience that too
other partition backups will never be restored as they are
were created. A perfect restoring is not possible.
Please do not use TWRP for backup and restoring operations.
Use a factory reset only in stock recovery.
The current TWRP is very dangerous. See my notes in the root thread. I have the Dualrecovery with me always. But I can fix any brick quickly. The normal user but not.

I've flashed stock recovery, made factory reset, and phone is working again.
But I've lost some of the apps (mainly games from the original ROM, magazine unlock is stopped working, lost themes, wallpapers etc. :crying
I've tried to download the pre-rooted B182 ROM but the archive is broken. (Both the zip in Mediafire, and the rar in MEGA)
I have ROM version B172, but System update cannot find updates. Thats why I'm not sure, if I can use the rescue rom. Maybe It won't upgrade.
Create a backup for security and try the rescue rom. It won't hurt. In the future, use the huawei backup app from the system so that you don't lose your apps and settings again.

Please help unbrick my phone

I have bricked my phone after Magisk install fail.
I first unlocked bootloader succesfully
then i installed twrp succesfully
then i flashed magisk using twrp - this failed and sent device to erecovery. (which won't find package)
i used twrp to wipe data, now i was able to boot, and it installed like a fresh EMUI. However, almost all apps were broken- could not download themes/camera shut down etc.
To fix this, i wanted to restore to stock and did the following: download update package for my VTR-L09 of EMUI b175 (I was on b162 before), used Huawei Update Extractor to extract files and flashed BOOT.IMG, SYSTEM.IMG and RECOVERY.IMG. This was done without error.
Now my phone won't boot at all. I am stuck at the 'your device can't be trusted' screen. I cannot go into recovery. When I connect via USB, I hear the chime in Windows but I can't seem to connect with ADB.
What to do now?? Am I hard-bricked? I hope that anyone knows how to deal with my phone bricked like this. Please help me to solve this issue.
Best of wishes.
Edit: I am able to enter forced recovery, however updates fail at 5%.
I am also able to fastboot with USB, however I am unsure what to do next.
I unbricked my phone! Many thanks to who ah way and his solution found here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10/how-to/guide-unbricking-p10-using-hwota-windows-t3714416

[help] frp lock in fastboot

hi everybody,
I need help from a big expert because I have a big problem with my P10...
ok for starter I know where is my mistake I forget to enable oem security in dev option
of course it's not my only mistake in twrp I do a advenced wipe and I wipe system sd etc...
So now my phone don't boot, twrp goe's when I flash another updape.zip with extarnal sd card and I can't flash anything with fastboot because frp it's lock...
my previous version it's l09 and I don't find full update.zip of this version just ota...
Some one can help me please
Hi,
maybe my guide works, but I don't think it works with FRP Lock, just try it.
If you were on Nougat before you wiped, use Tutorial 1, if you were on Oreo use Tutorial 2 - important choice.
Also note that you can't install Huaweis update.zip with TWRP because it's not an installable zip. It's only for Huaweis recovery - and this is what my script does:
It flashes the stock Huawei recovery with removed online validation and put some recovery commands into cache so the recovery knows what to do.
