Notification toggles come up sometimes, sometimes not - Tasker Tips & Tricks

I created Turbo Notify under [ Tasks ]
I created an action named Notify for Turbo Notify
Notify:
Title: Turbo Modes
Text: Toggle CPU Speeds
Under Actions: I added - Plugin / Kernel Aduitor then Configured it to toggle a cpu profile called Maximum.
I added 2 more. basically 3 toggles for Kernel Aduitors profiles.
So then I setup a Profile to work off of Device Boot then pointed it to Turbo Notify
So my question is this. Turbo Modes always comes up when the device boots. But the buttons below it do not always come up. Sometimes they may even go away during device use.
I am new to tasker and am a nub. Just wondering if I am missing something obvious. When I go into tasker then go into Tasks / Turbo Notify There is the action Notify and tap on the Play icon at the bottom left, the buttons show up on the notification. ( lil green light/icon shows up)
Sorry if it is a nub question. But how can I make it active all the time, and start on boot? The notification is always there, just not the buttons.
- Thnx in advance

I created a task to mimic what your doing. The buttons disappeared on me when unlocking the screen after my battery got (very) low. I've not had a lot of time to play with this, but I did notice when the buttons were missing, the notification did not look like it was expanded. They came back after a few notification drawer open/close cycles.
Still, I don't think you're doing anything wrong. Some thoughts;
Do you have icons assigned to the notification and each button? If not, try adding them.
Is "run in foreground" checked in the preferences -> monitor settings?

Yes I have icons assigned. Built-In ones. And yes to "run in foreground"
I have the priorities set to max, I don't know if that makes a difference.
Like I said I am new to tasker, I'm wondering if i overlooked something simple. Dunno.

Want to add "Ringer Mode Selection" as a Launcher Item in HTC HomeScreen

I've got the 6 tab "HTC Homescreen" plugin installed on my AT&T Tilt.
Upon installation it included "Ringer Mode Selection" as one of the (9) launcher items. I accidentally removed it and now want to add it back, but when I attempt to re-assign it in the launcher, it doesn't appear in the app programs selection assignment list.
This launcher item is the one which allows you change the phone "ringer status" (on, off, vibrate, auto), and displays four ringer status boxes (icons) to select from. This item also displays & allows you to change the default ringtone sound.
How can I can get the phone "ringer status" selection item to appear in my launcher list again?
Thanks
Jazz
Ringer Mode Selection is actually a HTC Homescreen TAB
Thanks to Kavi's help via PM, I found the answer:
'Ringer Mode Selection' is actually one of the six HomeScreen TABS (Profile Tab), and not a launcher item as I mistakenly thought. I've now got the Profile (ringer mode selection) TAB back via HTC Home Customizer.

Umm just a word of caution if you use that tab and use calendar reminders. There is definitely some flakiness in the interaction between those 2 functions.
E.g. if you use calendar and have have events chime in to remind you of those events, then switch to slent or vibrate, sometimes those reminders will get shut off and wont ring even after you switch back to ring mode.
This has been a known proven issue for some time with the HTC Home app's "profiles" tab functionality. I thought it was fixed on the Kaiser, but I now know that it is still an issue. Its an issue with how it manages notifications in the WM database.
If you don't care about notifications, then it doesn't matter. But if you do, beware that sometimes you won't get your reminder notice or sound even if you switch back to ring profile after using the silent or vibrate profiles for even a short while.
I've since removed that tab from my HTC Home via the HTC Home Customizer app, and only use the Comm Mgr "Ring/Vibrate" toggle to make the switch back and forth. It works without causing the same issue above. A couple more presses, but nothing compared to missing meetings cuz the reminder doesn't fire.
Profile Tab (ringer settings) - "Sound: Automatic"
Jomo25, thanks for the heads up about the possible conflict with profile (ringer status) tab & calender reminders.
That said, can somebody tell me what the far right most 'ringer setting' called:
Sound: Automatic is supposed to do? Thanks.

Nice! So that is why that happens I could never quite place it when it happens once and a great while.
Know of any other good "touch based/home screen" profile selector?

Bedside

For those of you that don't know Bedside,
It is a night clock that turns off all notifications while it's opened. However, if somebody calls you, it will ring/vibrate, or whatever ring mode you had before you opened it. For example:
- You set the phone to vibrate
- Open Bedside
- You get any notification, sms, email, other app, etc.. it wont vibrate or sound, nothing.
- You get a call, it will vibrate.
It has features like:
- TTS (Text-to-Speech), long press anywhere on the screen, and Bedside will say the time. You can enable/disable this on the preferences.
- Swipe Up/Down for Brightness Control.
- Battery Status
- Option not to turn off sounds (Clock Only).
- Ability to Keep Screen On, or just let it off along with your Display Timeout setting (Bedside will keep running).
- 24 Hours Format (TTS will say time in 24 hours as well)
- Text Colors
- Text Fonts (only for the time)
- Subtle Background (optional since it doesn't help with Brightness)
- Flashlight (on the menu, or also you can enable the Show Lightbulb option on preferences and a small lightbulb will show up on the top left corner for easy flashlight access)
As you can see, this app is very customizable and useful. It's $1.49 and available in the market right now.
There's a "Lite" version as well but it's missing many features that the regular version has.
Who wants SMS whitelist support????
bedside without clock
Hello,
is it possible to make a widget-app which turns off all notifications, except the phone - vibrate, without the clock function?
On a regular basis I'm on permanence for my work and do not be worried by notifications while sleeping, except if they need me by phone ring.
with kind regards,
Luc

Yes, I have already thought about this and might start working on it soon, I'd like to finish the SMS (and maybe calls whitelists) on Bedside before doing a widget since it would be almost the same code.
Thanks!
Status on the new version (whitelists!), I've had some unconsistency problems, and I'm looking into it, haven't had the time to really fix it because I've been really busy with work/problems, but I'm getting back on track soon.

Lollipop 5.0.1 Tips

I figured I'd start a thread to share tips and tricks moving over to LP 5.0.1
Haven't found a way to add icons to Lock Screen other then Call & Camera yet BUT..
If your like me and really don't like the use of LP's Home button I downloaded "Screen Off and Unlock" from play store, now when I press and hold Home the screen goes off/sleep, it still goes to Google Now if you double hit Home...
1) If you want to use Do Not Disturb (DND), setting the toggle to on will keep DND on all the time. Setting just a schedule (and keeping the toggle off) will only activate DND during the scheduled time.
Alternatively, you can use the app called Do Not Disturb, which, IMO, works better than the default one. Plus, you can set multiple schedules!
2) if you're like me and hate how the new lockscreen notifications show everything that appears in your notification panel, and only shows the first 2 notifications (before you have to expand them all), then look at NiLS on Play. It mimics the LP lockscreen notifications, but you can choose what notifications to show or hide. And you can theme them too.

Trigger Amolad AOD with Tasker

A main disadvantage of the OP7P is the lack of AOD and Led. The ambient display is very short, so you never know if you missed call or message.
Some AOD Apps are heavy battery consumers, or disabling face recognition unlock, OPAODmod block chrome, Plus Beat is reasonable solution, though it is not AOD.
gigiion came up with the idea to trigger the Amolad AOD app to run only if notification was missed, using Macrodroid. Here is the way I implemented his idea, using Tasker:
1. Install Always on AMOLED from google play store. Do not enable the service. For OP7P choose One UI theme.
2. Screen condition
In Tasker, make these two profiles:
- Display off > Veriable set %Screen_Locked ~ 1
- Display Unlocked > Veriable set %Screen_Locked ~ 0
In such way the native ambient display will not interrupt the AOD whet it turn the screen on.
3. Main task
If %Screen_Locked ~ 1
Veriable set %Titel1 to %NTITLE
Veriable set %Text1 to %evtprm3
Wait 15 secondes
From Amolad plugin – start amolad display if %Screen_Locked ~ 1
End if
The variables %Title1 and %Text1, can be used to track the situation that the AOD start without any known trigger. Such phenomenon can happened if WhatsApp notify “Searching for messages”.
The 15 sec delay is for the native ambient display. The double condition of Screen_locked, disable AOD if you unlocked display in this period, of just answer a call.
4. Triggers
Make profiles of event/notification, missed call, state/power/power or whatever you like, and assign to the task you just made. Name those profiles – it is necessary for next stage.
5. Toggle profiles
Make “toggle aod profiles” task:
Profile Status missed_call set toggle
Profile Status aod set toggle
etc ……..
if % PENABLED ~ *,aod,* (“aod” is name of one of the trigger profiles)
setup quick setting (number: 1st, Name: toggle aod profiles, status: inactive)
else
setup quick setting (number: 1st, Name: toggle aod profiles, status: active)
end if
I do not understand way the active/inactive are replaced.
6. Assign quick setting button
In Tasker’s main screen upper right corner three dots: Preferences/ Action tab/ quick setting tab.
Then add it in the quick setting editor.
7. Automatic toggle triggers
Clone the task you made in section 5, and change “toggle” to “on” of “off”, then you can make any profile you like to toggle the triggers.
Seems like alot of work when you can just use this mod.

The main reason that I didn't use it, is the long remind interval (min 15 sec) and the short display time. You can miss notifications if you don't looking into the black screen all the time. Any case I found stable AOD to be better, otherwise i could use Plus beat.

Disable brief notification pop up

The brief notification is where you get a small pop up at the top of your screen. How the hell do you disable this globally? Some apps like WhatsApp you can do from within the actual app's settings. Others you can turn off priority notifications.. But some apps don't have any valid setting. How can I disable this for all apps. Its such a useless feature for me. I just want the regular icon in the status bar and nothing popping up
they used to be called heads up notifications I think and yes I'd welcome a solution for this too.
I currently run my phone in 'do not disturb' mode 24/7 because I despise their intrusions.
