Playstore doesn't download or update any application - Huawei P10 Questions & Answers

I have the B162 update running on my P10 and whenever I try to download an app from Playstore, it shows downloading, but nothing gets downloaded. So I did a hard reset and everything seems to fine. But only for a few days, again I can't download or update anything.
What can be the reason for this?

have you tried with 4G connection ? wifi connection ?
this morning, I couldn't get any app via 4G, I've switched to wifi and magic ! the apps got installed.

I tried with both and didn't work. But I found that when you keep the phone standby, apps will be downloaded/updated at random times.

Same for me.
If I reboot the phone, download starts immediately.

here is a troubleshooting tutorial from Google :

The first time when I cleared cache and data, applications started to download. But sometime after, it again came back to the previous scenario. Then I followed all the instructions again, but still no luck.
Waiting for a reply from Huawei now.

I downgraded Google Play and re-updated. Now working, but I hope we will not end up again in the same situation.

I too downgraded the play store, but no luck for me. Even the Huawei support is asking me to do a factory reset again. So frustrated now.

After update to B162 I am having problems with not being able to update or install new apps - a reboot seems to have fixed it - For now.

Same here, cant download new apps.

Been seeing the same since i got the 162 update on my P10 Plus, reboot gets it going again but definitely something to do with 162 update.

Getting same issue as well is it worth factory reset or maybe I should take back to network carrier my contract is with?

Doing a factory reset will only solve your problem temporarily. So better to wait for a fix from Huawei. They'll release one soon.

I'm on the same f/w, but have no problem downloading through wifi or 3G network.

Have they released an official statement regarding the issue?

Yup. Got this too on the B163 update for my L29.

Getting same issue as well

I don't know how this happened, but mine started to download again as usual. The only change I did was changing my theme. Strange right?

No they haven't I guess. But there are many people who report this issue now. So Huawei must take an action immediately.

Same problem here since the 151 update. Huawei, this is not cool. Besides, I'm having a lot of syncing issues.

[I9001] Unable to download apps from Play Store and unable to upgrade firmware

I am having two problems on my Samsung Galaxy S Plus GT-I9001.
The first one, of not being to able to download apps started day before yesterday. When I tried to update apps via Play Store, it would just be stuck at starting download, and the actual download won't start. The bar just kept moving like it does before download starts, but actual download does not start.
I searched for solution to this problem, and tried the steps on Google support... to clear cache and data for Google Framework Services, and Download Manager, and Google Play Store services. Tried that, nothing happened.
So, I decided to do a factory reset, in the hope that, that would solve the problem. And so I performed the factory reset, but the problem is same as before. Still cannot download apps from Play Store.
Yesterday, when I tried to download update for apps, it showed error 927 sometimes. Other times, it shows nothing, but just gets stuck at starting download.
However, I was able to download two apps, which makes it strange. I was able to download Street View for Maps, and Voice Search. But, the downloading for others didn't work.
I searched for solutions to the problem of error 927, and I tried different solutions I could find, but none have worked. I tried the extensive steps given on this thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33762494&postcount=8
I tried it several times, but so far this has not worked. It's making me a bit frustrated.
Second part of the problem is that, after the factory reset my phone is in the state that it first came. An upgrade to my phone firmware is there from Samsung. I have Samsung Kies installed on my system, and I have successfully done an upgrade to my phone earlier to the latest firmware being offered from Samsung.
So, I tried the upgrade via Samsung Kies. Strangely, it shows what version of firmware I have on my phone, but does not show the name of the version available, it's blank. However, it does inform that an upgrade is there.
So, I start the upgrade, and it performs an initial download, asks for UAC clearance twice, and then the firmware upgrade window comes up, where it starts to download the firmware upgrade files. Then, a Notice window comes up, with something written in Korean or Chinese, I don't know, with an OK button. When pressed OK, the firmware upgrade process closes, and then the phone disconnects from Kies, and is connected again, and then it again shows that a firmware upgrade is available.
I tried upgrading multiple times, same thing occurs. How am I supposed to understand the Notice in Korean/Chinese... that's stupid.
Also, the latest versions of Kies, starting from version 2.5.0 do not support GT-I9001. I had to download version 2.3.3 in order to use Kies to connect to my phone. Because the official upgrade is offered via Kies for I9001. Samsung is not offering update via OTA.
I am using Windows 8, and Samsung Kies works fine.
So, please help me with these two problems... downloading of apps problem, and performing upgrade of my phone.
I haven't rooted my phone.. it's just over a year old.. bought it in January last year. So, warranty is over.
I am also a newbie, and I haven't performed any rooting, or haven't yet gone into recovery mode, etc. So, if I have to do that, will need proper steps, and explanation .
Thanks.
Update via ODIN. Takes some time and patience but it works much better. See the the index in the GT-I9001 i've made a tutorial

Am getting crazy here.
I keep trying for the downloads once in a while. So, I tried downloading again, and this time, the downloads started normally. I updated 3 apps.. Gmail, Google Search, Maps. I also downloaded Flashlight app. After that, I tried to download more, but now again same problem is happening... stuck on starting download. Tried downloading different apps, same. I don't know what the heck is happening.
Any solution will be appreciated.
What might have caused this? After a factory reset, things should have worked fine, but why even after a factory reset, there are problems?
Which google play version do you use?
Thanks for the link.
The Google Play version on my phone which it installed automatically when I had performed factory reset is 3.10.14

If you have the newest one; V4.0.25 then go to settings > apps > manage apps (or on ICS/JB scrol to all) then search for google play and for Play services and wipe data/cache on both apps.
Well, I have version 3.10.14, and as said in my first post, I have already tried that multiple times, that is, clearing data and cache for the Google Play Store, Play Store Service, Google Services Framework, Download Manager.. but the problem is still there.
There are no updates shown for Google Play Store on my phone.
I have Gingerbread 2.3.6 on my phone.. XXKQD.
About performing upgrade with Odin, how do I know which stock firmware I should upgrade to.
Well, ive searched error 927 via Google ( ) and it means a server error on the developers side. Meaning the playstore/application has issues. Whichs cant be solved by us users

Well, I too had searched for this error yesterday, and as said in my first post, it is quite a common error, and I found some solutions, like the one you told, to clear data/cache, etc. But that does not work.
It does not necessarily mean that the problem is on developer's side, otherwise, it wouldn't have been solved with the different solutions.

Well, I have performed a factory reset, which is available in the phone under Privacy.
Is there any other form of factory reset? What's a complete factory reset? How is it different from the factory reset there in the phone?

And yes if you have the correct one then you can search for it on samsung updates or sammobile
Update on the issues - one issue solved
Seems like the problem is with Play Store, and that's why I was not able to download the apps. Now, the apps are downloading fine, without my doing anything. First, it was working randomly... but now, am able to download all apps. I now feel stupid to have performed the factory reset on the phone so soon.
Seems like Google are rolling out a new version of Play Store, and so I think that's the reason behind the downloading issues. But, its strange why it happened to me only. Anyone else with GT-I9001 experienced this issue?
About the second problem of not being able to upgrade the firmware via Samsung Kies.. I wrote to Samsung, since I have not got any helpful reply from here on the forum. They wrote back to me, giving me the address of Samsung Smart Cafe in the city, and telling me to go there. That's just stupid. For a problem with their software, why should I be the one going to the Smart Cafe. Obviously, they will charge me for their services there. I have written back to them, about this, that it's a problem with their software.. its showing non-English messages whereas the installation language was chosen to be English. Let's see what they reply... but I am not expecting any helpful reply. It will be just wishy-washy.
I may try upgrading the firmware via Odin, but I am thinking if it's worth it. The official firmware upgrade isn't so good, and has bugs.
I am thinking that if I have to upgrade via flashing, then why not root the phone, and install a custom ROM.
Can anyone please tell me about a stable and efficient good custom ROM for GT-I9001? ... or should I open a new thread to ask about it?
Am an absolute newbie with all this rooting, and flashing, and have no idea about the ROMs.

[Q] Update Failing

I just got a regular S6 through T-Mobile and for some reason, the initial update is failing. It will download (177 mb), reboot to install, get to 25%, fail, and reboot. The phone is working perfectly other than that. Any idea what I can do to fix it? Thanks.

That is very interesting. I would try either a factory reset (don't see how this would help but is worth a try) or return the device to store and show them the issue. Try to do the update in front of a T-mobile rep. I'm also assuming you have modded the phone in any way have you?

This thread was an accidental double post. I resolved the issue and posted about it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-s6/help/update-failing-t3105301
For the record, I factory reset it three or so times. The phone was unmodified and wouldn't update out of the box.

Wifi not connecting

Hello to all
I've just unpacked my p10 and connected to wifi, but it consistently says I have excellent connection but no internet. I have internet (my other phone & laptop go to the internet using this very same wifi), and I've also tested a secondary "guest" network at work, but had the same problem.
Has anybody faced this issue? Does anybody knows what does the P10 test to check internet connection?
Thanks in advance
I answer myself, as I received a OTA update and it fixed the bug...

Go to settings --> Update System, and check for updates.
FYI, Im on 171 (L29C432B171) and this bug is not present, you can see your version on that same screen.
To fix my issue I spent most of my data allocated over 4G on the update, but it was worht!
Same problem with vtr-l29c10b164 ((
I had the same problem with my P10. To solve this problem I had to wipe the cache partition: (no data, messages ... get lost)
Turn off the smartphone;
While pressing the Power button, simultaneously tap and hold the Volume Up and the Home buttons;
Wait until the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus vibrates and the Recovery Mode starts;
Use the Wipe Cache Partition option;
Wait for a couple of minutes until it finishes and then restart the device with the Reboot System Now feature.

No connection in certain apps

Hi guys, I've had a problem for some time now and it's driving me nuts.
Basically some apps just lose internet connection after some time. Facebook and spotify are the most obvious.
In Facebook I can see the news feed but if try to read comment or reply it gives me an error. If I log out of the app I can't log in as it says I have no connection. If I open Facebook via Chrome I have no problem whatsoever.
Spotify is also giving me problem. If I search something I get the no connection error. But if I open a Playlist that was recently played I can open it with no problems..
Everytime a new firmware comes I update it, it works well for some days and then I start having these problems again..

Yup, reflashing the FW worked... I really do not understand what is going on. Let's see how long it will last this time.
OK so after re rooting the phone and installing all apps via titanium I'm getting that problem again.
If a reflash the fw again it works and then I reroot and back to the same problem again.
Of note I'm using xperifix with magisk 17.1 and I'm on the latest fw customized latam. I really don't know what to do but this is enfuriating..

Please help: Phone freezes and reboots

I have a problem, hope someone can help me.
First time i haven't rooted my phone lol. Since update my phone randomly freezes and reboots, sometimes it just turns off, which means it doesn't shut down but screen turns black and its off. I wonder if someone else has the same problem and could solve it or if someone knows how i could track this error to get rid of it. Some sort of logging program i could use for example but as i said phone is not rooted. Appreciate any help. Thanks
try clearing the cache or if that doesn't help manually download the firmware (on a stable wifi connection) and flash it again.

well a factory reset will clear your cache for you but if that not where the issue lays you'll still be in the same predicament.
flash your firmware again if you need to. don't interrupt or pause the download and do over a strong wifi network.
