Samsung extras. Is there any way to order before getting the phone? - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions and Answers

I'm sorry if this has been asked already. Is there any way for me to order the charger and memory card before I get the phone? I pre-ordered through Best Buy back on 9/1.
Thanks

Only if you order direct from Samsung, where they'll send you the phone and the bonuses together. Otherwise, you need the phone in hand as you have to send the your phone's IMEI and MAC address. Plus I believe the easiest way to get the promo is to sign into the promo app from your Note 8 which automates a lot of the application.

I ordered the Note 8 and had to call ecommerc (1-855-254-4747) to confirm the extras, and was told that even though I ordered it online, I still also have to wait for the phone to be in my hands in order to complete the registration using the Samsung account and filling in the Note 8's IMEI. I also asked if I could just log into any Note 8 and use that IMEI, but they need the one tied to the order or it will be rejected (I tried haha).
SO.. The extras promo is handled just like carrier / retailers. Samsung.can orders aren't automatically filled. We will have to wait for the physical phones complete the promo registration from pending to completed and then wait for them to ship.

Thanks. The first thing that I'll do is install the app and order the extras. Then it'll probably take a month to get them.

Did you pre-order direct from Samsung.com? That weird because most of us have had the phone and the camera/charger/card all come in the same shipping box.

It was Target. It was probably a mistake on their end, where they were getting rid of older models but didn't want them to go that low. They're already out of stock though.

We will either get the PS3s, or get coupons for something.
I ordered one last night, but I heard this morning they were cancelling all orders due to the misprint. It was worth a shot!
Yeah, it was Target. They tend to mess up like this frequently, lol. A month ago I was able to buy a $50 Playstation card for $18 because they messed up.

Hilarious! At least you tried
I was with a friend waiting at Wal-Mart one time when they printed a great deal on the PS3. Turns out it was a misprint on details of a game/movie combo. We didn't think it was a big deal, but a restless mother that was waiting before us wouldn't let it go so we got a bit of a bonus, too!
Fear not, Amazon! Disclaimer-man is here to save the day!!

HTC one with bad esn from craiglist

Hi,
I bought a used HTC one on craiglist only to find out that is is stolen. Att wouldnt allow me to activate it.
I am so stressful now. What other option do I have with other carrier at all? Don't tell me to use as a wifi fone please.
Here is my IMEI. I dont understand that I already check that IMEI first hand, it shows clean, but somehow I still got scam.

Unfortunately there isn't much you can do with this, it has happened to me in the past also. Just because the IMEI is clean when you bought it doesn't mean that a few days / weeks / months later the original owner doesn't report it lost / stolen at which point it becomes blocked to you.
The only resolution is for the person who reported it lost / stolen to the networks contact the network and advise they have located it, and they will then lift the IMEI bar

So there is no hope trying with T-mobile?
I just check with Imei checker, and they say T-mobile is clean. Do carriers share the blacklist?

Ive bought a lot of phones on CL. Ive only been burned once.
What i did learn is that if they have Asurion they have 30 days to file a Lost/Stolen claim with them.
Then another 120 days to finalize the claim and pay the deductible.
I had this happen to me when i got a TMO GS3. I had it 4 months and then one day it didnt work. I followed up with TMO and found it was listed as stolen. I knew the store manager and she remembers when i had them check it. She did some digging and found out the 30 day / 120 day timeline.
The crappy thing is, i emailed Asurion multiple times to let them know the person who reported it stolen was scamming people and using insurance fraudulently and they didnt care.
With insurance its easy to scam people. Without it not so much.

Proper procedures?

Some may know I recently purchased a Note 3 N900A from a trusted seller via Ebay. Upon arrival, it worked for a total of 4 days. I received a message from the seller "I'll buy back the device for $100. 1/4 of what I had actually paid for it! Through me off a little bit. Next morning, tried to make a phone call. "This device has been blocked from network use."
Now I'm pretty sure you can put two and two together. First receive a buy back message, ignored it. Next, find your device "blocked."
Consulted with the seller. He has no intentions of unblocking it because I refused to sell it back to him for 1/4 of what I had paid. Claims he tried to unblock it but we all know. "It's blocked under an At&t account. Only the blocker can unblock it."
Now I have receipt, everything. Prove it was an actual legitimate sale. Talk to Ebay and I just bounced around, "transfer here, transfer there." I know the seller doesn't have an At&t account but where he got the phone from. She had an At&t account. Upon time of purchase it was not activated on an account. Yes I've done my IMEI background check before purchase.
What would be the correct procedures handling this case?
Probably best answered from ones who had ran into the same issue.

What I'm thinking but resolution I'm hoping for is. Device gets unblocked because with ordering a refund. Having to wait for it to credit back to my account. Another royal headache! Anyone familiar with disputes on PayPal?
I have from the actual Ebay listing sale to text messages claiming he's not interested in unblocking it.

and with this being a recent purchase "last week." PayPal may be the only bail out. Ebay isn't help. I keep getting "Please hold and that hold will last 30 minutes, sometimes 45." I do know at point of sale. IMEI was clean but once it's ran again. They'll see its not. Which will lead to questioning the seller.
Mentioning the police in your previous reply RErick. Thinking if I called the local police department where the seller is located. Would give him boost on the ass "Hey, you need to fix this or refund" thought?

Yeah the police could help. But with eBay you gotta file a dispute online. Click on your purchase and you should be able to file one. I would personally go with all 3 routes

That dispute status sitting on my Ebay account has been in the state of "in progress" since mid-last week. /:
I'll check out PayPal and do some digging with his local police department. Since At&t was no help! I know I can get it unblocked from the original owner if I had her name/number. Simple if she knew what he was actually doing. 9/10 it would be unblocked.

I just picked up my galaxy s6 active, but I plan to use it with tmobile. From what I saw, it takes band 4 lte, which is tmo, so all I would need are the apn settings and I should be good to go.
Now I am very impatiently waiting for my unlock code from Theunlockingcompany.com
I'll report how it goes here.
Will ATT not unlock in store? I thought they would if you pay full price.

Can you unlock if it's under contract or on payment plan? If so let me know where, thanks!
You can unlock any GSM phone regardless of if it is under any contract or not.
There are plenty of online services that give you unlock codes based on your imei
Tried one on eBay, came back as "this device is active on another user's account" which apparently means it's under contract. Bought phone on swappa so must've been an upgrade.
BTW, this is exactly how I did it. Still waiting on my unlock code though.

Holy crap! You got a $700 brand new phone on CL for $450? Wonder why the person didn't return phone for refund instead since it's only been out since last Friday officially? Was seller an at&t employee or something?
Yep... the guy had 3 of them
I'm eyeing this phone for use on T-mobile - does it have full LTE support (including band 12) on T-mobile?

So how would you be getting future firmware updates? Would you be able to get it OTA when AT&T release it for the S6 Active, or do you need to wait for it to be uploaded somewhere so you can download and install?

1. Odin flash the update
2. I am counting on root and custom recovery being available at some point.
3. I believe I can still get an Ota even if I have a different carrier Sim in their via wifi.

Now I got my S10 thru my carrier so spotify wasn't preloaded on my device. I was wondering if anyone has figured out how to redeem this??
Thank you.
I tried on my unlocked S10+ and followed the directions and after clicking the Premium tab there was only a free 30 days. I have never had an account before so I know that wasn't the problem. Anyone else find the same thing?
Worked for me. Att s10+ created an account, clicked on the premium tab and it had the offer for my Samsung device.

Mine is an ATT device.
Yes, when I clicked the premium tab it immediately opened a full page ad stating "with your Samsung device you are eligible for 6 months free" or something along those words.
So, looks like it may be a carrier feature that some have not hooked up. I'm used to that from Verizon, used to always lose most incentives.

So I figured it out. Existing subscribers aren't eligible.
I logged out of my account and created a new one. It made me pick 3 artists. After that I got on this screen.
Looks like all you have to do is put a card on file and you are set.
I did a jump upgrade through t-mobile btw. I didn't get this through samsung or buy it outright.
Worked for me as well. New sign up, just asks for a card to bill when the 6 months are up. Never used spotify before, cool of Samsung to offer this
Not here, created new account... 30 days.
Unlocked via Samsung direct.
Spotify not preloaded!
Created a new account 6 months free
If you logged in first with a previous account, log off.
Go to settings, app, search spotify, storage, clear cache and data.
Open spotify, create a new account, go to premium, it should appear the samsung 6 months free now
Damn can we just get 6 months credit if we already have Spotify lol
I've tried everything and it won't work. I have an unlocked version.
