This thread has been created to provide Redmi 4X feedback to @Arnova8G2 regarding his port of the Google Camera app.
Describe your experience (mostly what doesn't work as expected)
Provide logcats (the dev does not have your phone, so logs are needed if you want him to fix stuff)

I installed the app. It is mostly unusable due to crashes. Bt when it works photos are flawless.

I have 3.4b installed, works better, no crashes, more configuration options available.

I tried that version it doesn't work. What device did you choose from the settings for hdr+. I tried it kept crashing.

its not working bruh ! tried every HDR+ mode but the App is getting stopped evertime I do this.
though if you still want to use the HDR+ mode choose from Pixel & when the app crashes..
1.long press the App Icon
2.Select take a selfie
3.Change to Rear Camera
it will work but its annoying :silly:

I've been using this for a 3 days now and it is pretty awesome! Thank you so much! Photos are way better than any modded cameras out there.
The only thing I've been struggling to fix now is the slow motion. It says "can't connect to the camera". I've tried basic fixes out of YouTube and tried flashing some fixes I found on the internet -esp. here in XDA but I am still out of luck.
I am 99% complete now on this camera, just the slow motion isn't working. I am using Xiaomi Redmi 4x running Resurrection Remix 5.8.5-20170929-santoni-Final

Thank you so much. I'll look forward to it. And one more thing as I am currently playing with the cam right now, 60FPS also won't work on my device. I have replaced media_profiles.xml and set the necessary permissions but it also says "can't connect to the camera"

Camera App crashes after making any changes in settings . I have done everything dats recomended but nothing helps .

What device are you using and what rom?

Are you using magisk root? Uninstall the stock camera first via any system app remover. Secondly, Try flashing camera 2 api module. Then download the modded camera on this thread. Works for me (except slow motion and 60fps video -but fix will be coming soon as per dev.)

Install camera2api enabler module. Then install the gcam attached on OP. Reboot and done

Same happened with me too.
I was on stock rom BTW.
I reverted back to stock media_profiles.xml
But the stock miui camera supports the slo-mo and works quite fine at a speed of x0.25

Hey guys . As many of you have heard the Camera NX gives full capability of portait mode without having dual cameras . With only one camera you can get Pixel XL like photos with this app .But it has a drawback . It only runs on Android Oreo roms . But I have modified the app to run on Nougat ( 7.0 ) devices .
Bugs: Front camera isn't working on this app but you can use google camera for front bokeh

I can confirm the app works. In potrait mode, viewfinder is a bit zoomed in though.
Also ui is a bit laggy on low light.

It's on my signature. Btw, I'm using RR by qwertyTom too, latest 20171230 build. App force closes sometimes, but works ok.

REMEMBER: Google Camera only runs on ROMs with the Camera2 API enabled. IF YOU DONT ENABLE THIS, THE CAMERA FC
TO ENABLE.
- Edit the build.prop:
-- Search for "persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=0" and change it from 0 to 1;
-- If you can't find it, add: persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1

You have to install a rom which supports hal3.

Anyone already have photo sample from this app?
Post it here please, i could not try it for now because still in MIUI based rom, whis require HAL3 api from Nougat roms.

For simplicity, can try Los 14.1 by karevn. For customization options, can try RR by qwertyTom or unterwelt.

[New][Stable] Google Camera Mod with HDR+ & Portrait

There are a lot of versions of Google Camera Mod floating around on XDA forums for obvious reason - there's no single version that works just fine on all phones.
It also means that not everyone has the patience to test out every version, with every possible configuration. But fortunately, I've found a stable version among all these hundreds of these after trying many of them from different sources.

This works on almost all 8.0+ ROMs as long as they have Camera2 API support and are 64bit builds. Make sure you're ROM meets these requirements.

In my Moto g5 plus i have downloaded this version only and only vedio recording, paranoma and photo sphere are working and I try to switch to photo mode it stops working crashes and says open app again and this goes on and after sometime it says force close

I use Pixel Experience ROM. Usually when I install a new GCAM it sits along the one provided on the ROM, but when I installed the new minimal version it seems to have overwritten it. Version is 5.2.025

I'm running LineageOS 15.1 and when I'm playing music on Spotify, if I go to take a picture with this camera it will stop Spotify. This only happens with HDR on. I'm assuming this is due to it having to use all the phone resources to process the HDR photo? The load time takes quite a while for the HDR photos too, and sometimes it will just keep loading forever when I try to view the photo.
The HDR-off mode of this camera also doesn't work well. The picture it takes just glitches out at times and is splotchy looking.

gcam minimal is the most stable I have used.

I think it's because of the microphone usage by both apps.

Yes, because both of these mods are Arnova8G2's and use same package name.

Night Sight on Gcam port for OP3T

Would it be possible to have this done? I've seen some examples and it loks amazing. Curious to see if it will work on our phones.

Maybe it's related to rom! I'm on havoc and just installed the gcam and it worked with no change in settings!

Front camera fix and Tolyan009 gcam are confirmed to be working on nitrogen OS

Just confirming the steps here. To get this working on OP3T, I need to:
1. Install OP3T camera fix from here: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/op3fix/
2. Then install - https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/GoogleCamera_6.1.013.216795316-debug2.apk

Edit: Tried the apk but it stops telling me that there was a problem while parsing the package.

I'm also on Havoc OS, Pie op3t 13 Nov release, does it conflict with the stock google app coming in the rom

Yes it won't install or update the pre installed gcam. You have to delete the app. Just go to TWRP mount system and delete GoogleCamera from app folder (or priv-app).
Now you can install latest GCam.

I think you should try it on Pie ROMs. You know, Night Sight was introduced in Pixel 3 which is a Pie release.

I installed an updated GCam on my wife's 3t that has night sight working with OOS.

Latest ANX Cam Version?

Why do people still recommend ANXCameraUnity_158.SlimyColdHusky.zip everywhere?
There are already lots of newer versions out - do they not work with the Mi 9T Pro, or why are people still recommending this specific version?
Can I safely install the latest one?

I flashed the latest one, restarted, then flashed the 48mpx/Q libs add-on - everything works except portrait mode (can't connect to the camera error) I had to add permissions manually in the settings though. It actually works pretty well.

Did portrait mode work after you adjusted the permissions.
To me it still seems that I should go with 158 slim husky if the newer versions are so buggy

Be careful if you have magisk add-on, remove it and try again. After that it should work as normal

i have some problem regarding anx camera, i am using pe+ march edition since the april edition is not really stable for me especially the function inside the anx camera ( yes i know gcam is exist )
the problem is, the camera is lagging after i taking the picture via main lens or changing to other lens after taking picture from the main lens
i am using the latest version of anx camera..installing the add on module,clearing apps data, installing old version seems not helping at all
any suggestion ?

I can't say for the 158 slim husky, not tried it. but even with the Q libs portrait mode still doesn't work, so I just avoid using it really - if I really need portrait mode I'll use GCAM.

This sounds pretty normal. It's processing the photo you just took from the main cam I suppose (happens with Gcam too). Wait a short while before taking another picture or changing modes.
